I was at Davidson's last night for the very first time to celebrate the birthday of a very dear friend. The entire staff was PHENOMENAL! I brought a birthday cake for my friend, and they were kind enough to stash it in a fridge in their kitchen for us until we finished dinner. My chicken quesadilla was incredible! I love when veggies are added, and the sautéed onions and peppers really elevated the dish. And I often don't have any option whatsoever to order a vegetable side dish when I'm at a sports bar type of restaurant. But it was no problem here. I was able to get a side of steamed broccoli, and it was a very generous portion, too. All the other guests at our table seemed to enjoy their dinners, as well. I only took 3 pictures because I didn't want to be a pest, but everyone's food looked really good. Our waitress was fantastic, friendly, and very attentive. I drink a lot of water with my meals, and I never once had to ask for a refill. The waitress would just automatically bring me another glass whenever she saw mine was getting low. I jokingly called her "the psychic waitress" because she was reading my mind--bringing me my water before I even asked. And then she brought me a box for my leftovers--before I asked! She was wonderful. The only bummer was that my cousin had ordered fried mozzarella sticks, and 3 of them were empty! I think the cheese filling must have fallen out when they were cooking. It was a very minor detail compared to how wonderful everything else was. And it's certainly an easy problem to fix. And I almost didn't include it in my review, but then I thought, what's the point of writing a review if I'm not going to be honest about everything? I want people to know that I tell it like it is. Overall, I had a great time at this restaurant, and I highly recommend it. The staff was amazing and kind, and my food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back, and I will probably be getting that chicken quesadilla to go on my next visit to Ohio. read more

Great service and outstanding food. Prices are very reasonable. Great place to catch a game and grab a meal.

Read my original review, because nearly nothing has changed, and that's a good thing. It's been a lot of years since I first reviewed this place and I can gladly add the extra star because I still love and endorse this place. My server is a sweet young lady. That's a little different as I recall on the past that the servers were older women. No drop-off in service. Worth noting on this visit is the quality of the wedding soup. It's just so damn tasty. read more

I am originally from Cornersburgh and always come back from Calif for a week for my favorite greens dish with a large pepper on top When I first arrived I went straight to Davidson and order the large greens . It had no flavor I went back on my way out of Youngstown and mentioned to please add extra garlic Again it had NO favor and the peeper on top was so small and shriveled up. It looked like it was sitting from the day before and it was so dry and small. I am so disappointed also with the price going up to $15.99 It's just we're greens and nothing else I also was told that they Tuesday specials for chicken and dumplings were now also $15.99 I don't mind to pay if it is good It was terrible both times Please the customer service the second time was terrible and there were very few customers there Very unfriendly and unavailable Enclosed is a pic of my greens I will never go there again read more

Place was a disaster close to a hole in the wall bar dirty floors poor management I'm guessing food was terrible everyone was complaining about the food I got fish and it tasted like rubber and I waited for the food to arrive for 45 min the place was no where near close to packed I do not recommend it's a shame. read more

Greens are fantastic, the prime rib was good, and the salad was sad. But the dinner rolls... wonderful!

Absolutely awful, never coming back. Such a shame--this place used to be great. Mains were inedible, one with a portion so small everyone laughed out loud when the server put it down. The garnish looked like compost. Everything was greasy, cold, and burnt. Appetizers were served without plates and when we asked we never got them. Mixed drink absolute rot gut alcohol not mixed, and served with overripe garnish. Service was appalling: no drinks for 30 minutes, no plates, no check ins. Menu itself was tattered, greasy, and full of crossed out items. Prices are also just...insane...for diner food. Shame on the owner of this place for letting it run into the ground. Do not go here. read more

Davidson's - Why would anyone eat at a restaurant with a menu that looks like this? - New American Near Me - Canfield, Ohio

While the service was impeccable the food was less than desirable. I've actually been keeping a running tab of chicken wraps in the area. This chicken Ceasar wrap had absolutely no taste of Ceasar. It mainly tasted of burnt chicken. The fries were good but I feel like they should have been paired with vinegar. Our first time eating here and sorry to say will probably be our last. read more

Blew away my old review. Giving Davidson's a solid 4/5 stars! Got the smoked lamb, brisket, chick wing platter. A pretty standard Youngstown Ohio Saturday special. MAN IS THIS GOOD! Stopped after voting. Ordered a burger my wife turkey sandwich. Took over 20 minutes, frys undercooked and cold. Barely saw our waitress. When we did, got us new frys, but never said Sorry once. Davidson's Restaurant, Cornersburg: Review: This is such a fantastic restaurant for the entire family to eat at. They have a vareity of sandwich choices, they have Italian Food and make their own Pizza. One Sandwich I recommend is their Reuben Sandwich Pictured here. It is tasty, comes with Fries and other choices including Sweet Potato Fries, Sweet Potato's or a Salad etc. Another Sandwich that is good here is their Pepper and Egg Sandwich. I also like their Double D Burger, a good Double Cheeseburger here. My parents and I frequent here alot. We also recommend their Cheese and Meat Plate here. They have a friendly wait staff and the food is fantastic here. Great place to come and hangout in The Mahoning Valley. Short Drive to Austintown, Canfield, Boardman and Not too far from Downtown Youngstown. Located on US 62 in Cornersburg. A fantastic restaurant with tasty and enjoyable food. read more

Me and my girlfriend went here today for lunch. The service was out right Awful. took Forever to get our drink order. I ordered a side salad with no onions any and it came it wasfull of red onions and I told the person that I'm allergic to onions and please don't put on my salad. When the salad came to the table it had onions in it. When my chicken sandwich came to the table tasted like it was cooked in burnt oil. The server named Gabe never came to check on or give us refills on our drinks. He did not even give us rolls and butter. I will not be back if he service me. I'M not coming and they lied to me about a manager being there. So in closing stay far away from this place. read more

I am so ashamed that I have lived here 15 years and Friday night was my FIRST time in Davidson's. Shame on me! This place is wonderful! They are located in Canfield and from the outside you would think it was not very large but looks are deceiving! We went in on Friday night at 7:30 and through the parking lot was quite full, our party of 6 only waited a brief moment for our table. The staff was so friendly! My friends who suggested Davidson's told me everything was great and so I had a very hard time deciding what to order! I finally decided on the Fish Almandine special with Mac and Cheese and Fair Fries on the side. My daughter chose cheese tortellini with a Alfredo sauce. Salads and warm dinner rolls were out in no time. I could make a meal out of their warm crusty rolls and butter all by themselves. Seriously. To. Die. For. Rolls. Do not give up the carbs if you are eating here because you seriously want these rolls. My entree was so incredibly good. Y'all know I'm picky about fish being from Louisiana but this was really great fish. It was perfectly cooked nothing fishy to it at all and the seasoning was on point. I do not like a heavy seasoned almandine and this was really light and refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer dinner! The Mac and cheese was creamy and loaded with really good flavors. It tasted like it had been cooked by my mama! I loved it. And we'll fair fries, too! Who doesn't love a good fair fry! I shared those with Rhyan! Speaking of Rhyan, her Tortellini Alfredo was mouth watering. I am usually not a fan and I will be having this on our next visit. The Alfredo was not heavy but still rich and flavorful. We were so full we did not dare attempt dessert. Perhaps next time. Because, well, there will be a next time! This was too good to not do again! read more

Food was good, but things have changed. The sign when you enter displays their issues about about staff shortages expected slow service. Saturday night and parts of dinning room closed. Booth we sat it in was held together with duct tape. They are now charging a fee if you use plastic. This indicates that trouble is brewing. I don't know about the bar, but restaurant is heading for a crash. Someone new must be running the place. Not the Davidsons I remember. read more

An example of an awesome, greater Youngstown area spot. With a menu the size of a dictionary, you're gunna find something you like, and it's gunna be good. The jalapeño cheese balls are as good as any around. I'd say the same for the wings. You gotta check this joint out. This place is the cornerstone of Cornersburg. read more

The food was just mediocre. Nothing seemed prepared from scratch. Opened a bottle , jar, or can, and served. Service was great, however. read more

Nice place - decent food - decent cost. Unfortunately the night we were there they must have been short staffed as the service was slow. Not the service for food but the attentiveness of the server coming back to our table. We started walking up to the bar rather then waiting. At the end the check was messed up because the server tried to double charge us for drinks we bought at the bar. I will give the place another chance as hopefully it was just a random short staffed night- all else was good and had potential. read more

Davidson's = the best of all worlds. You have the bar area for a more laid back atmosphere, you have the dining area for the more family friendly atmosphere. Either way, pretty casual. I always sit in the bar area. Speaking of always, I always order something with greens in it. Greens, greens and beans, chicken and greens sandwich..you catch what I am throwing? Always. Since leaving Youngstown, Ohio I've learned that greens do not exist everywhere like they exist here...maybe it's a NE thing, maybe it's an Ohio thing, maybe it's a Youngstown thing...I don't know but I make sure to get them everytime I am in town. Choice greens are Davidson's greens. They have a bit of everything on their menu though, daily specials, healthy, or bar food...they have it all. read more

The restaurant looks as though is hasn't been cleaned in ages. I dropped my card behind their bar and when they took the flashlight looking for it I was mortified and asked for my money back. 2 places that should be clean, restaurants and hospitals. End of story. Don't eat here, if this is their image, the kitchen must be awful. read more

Very delicious food, friendly service and nice spacious bar to enjoy sports and food. Good: The Black & Cole burger, Eggplant parmesan Sandwich, jalapeno poppers and Pasta dishes were really good and the pasta was really creamy. The staff was very helpful in giving me direction over phone while I was driving. read more

Terrible service, wasn't even greeted. Seated ourselves after almost 10 minutes of waiting. We sat in booth by kitchen doors & as soon as we sat down, we heard loud screaming & cussing coming from kitchen. There was another family by us also appalled by this we both had small children with us. No apology from waiter who witnessed this. The food was disappointing. My husband ordered one of their specialty burgers, when asked how he wanted his burger done he said well (puzzled because we've never heard of anyone eating undercooked hamburger meat?) But it came out completely black & crispy but pink in the middle!!! I ordered eggplant parmesan for myself, & spaghetti for my son. It wasn't terrible, just very blan tasting. My husband & I definitely won't be going back or recommending to friends/family. read more

This place is a solid 4/5. I rate it 5 stars to ward of the dumb negative reviews. I really like the service here. It's spot on, and fast. The food is very good, but not life changing. It's a "family sit at the table for dinner" atmosphere. Not my favorite! Pretty good food! Very nice servers. **The only real complaint would be that the seating is a "Denny's" or "Cracker Barrel" atmosphere...there's nothin' like sitting in your own booth with a little seclusion! Otherwise, probably would have been 5 stars (* * * *) for this restaurant! read more

I was a little confused, this place seemed like a more classy family venue, but you pay up front-not at the table. Weird-but I'll get over it. Love the selection on the menu, lots to choose from and very unique specials. Two specials that day were the pina colada chicken (I got-It was awesome) and the coffee marinated steak medallions (my friend got-tasted more like coffee than steak!). Service was pretty good and attentive, however when ordering for a group of seven the waitress decided to just have me holler what I wanted over everyone else versus coming down to my end. Something to work on is all. Oh and yeah, the small piece of wire in my friends salad. Just double check on washing that lettuce. Despite those, the food was worth it! read more

I have been to this restaurant several times, with family and friends, mostly for breakfast . The servers are very nice, attentive and very friendly . I can't complain at all about the wonderful service. What bothers me every time we go is the stickiness of the booths --I keep thinking they'll clean the entire table, where the condiments, salt/pepp/sugar pkts are at the edge ....it seems they lean in and clean as far as their arms reach, and that's it. I have literally had my plate STICK to the table if there are 4 of us and I am sitting near the wall , nxt to the other person in the booth with me. This is the way it is every time we go !! . It makes me wonder how clean the rest of the restaurant is ..wanted to say something to the wait staff but didn't want to cause problems. The booths , especially, need every inch of it cleaned. . Never ran into this in any other restaurant we've been to. The food is good ..,,altho I did order a chicken salad sandwich for lunch once and it was pieces of chunk chicken with lettuce and a little mayo . Wasn't what I know chicken salad' is or how i've made it . Was disappointed in that so I guess i'll stay with the breakfast menu when we go. It is a lovely restaurant with a huge menu and we had a family gathering there once and all the relatives thought it was very nice but we were in another dining area and it was beautiful . read more

I dont get the 3 1/2 stars cuz ive eaten there for very many years and ALWAYS have great food and service. I've explored a variety from their menu. I especially love when they have the buffets. Ive even brought many "picky" friends and they , in turn, return quite often. read more

Great food if you have the time to wait. The salads and fish are excellent. The prices are a little high, especially considering the cheap banquet type tables and chairs. The service and wait are terrible. I would eat there much more often if the wait wasn't long. On a recent Friday evening, the two of us waited 45 minutes for 2 grilled chicken salads. What's worse is there were two larger tables that were sat and ordered before us that didn't get there food until 15 minutes after us, so they must have been waiting at least an hour. I felt guilty eating my food first as they all gave me evil stares as it only took 45 minutes to get my food. The owner is always there and needs to pay more attention to the service time rather than sitting in the bar drinking. I will eat there more often if you can speed things up! read more
