Thankfully I decided to go here after the debacle of a location I went to just before. When you arrive, you look at the outside and wonder why is there such a larger parking lot. Well...I learned quickly that they have a great outdoor area, live music, and even a bocce court. It is very clean inside. Whoever designed the inside did a great job of fitting enough seating using all space, without feeling like you would be sitting on top of each other. I was there on a day in which they had 50 cent wings. 50 cents you ask? Yes, 50 cents. I was amazed. I haven't seen that in a long time. So, then I thought...I wonder how small they are. Ummm...they were not small at all! Nice sized wings, and sauced properly. I hate when places barely put any sauce on their wings, and this place did it the right way, not the wrong way. We ended up here after a disappointing experience at another spot -- and we're so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, and our server Amanda was amazing. She knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and made us feel completely taken care of. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we had such a great time. I stopped in here for a late lunch wanting to try some local food. It was taco Tuesday, so I got a 3 taco meal. Gina suggested that I mix them, so I got one hard and two soft chicken tacos. The chicken was tender and juicy. The lettuce was actually spring mix, which I thought was fabulous. The tomatoes ans salsa were good too. A perfect not-so-heavy lunch on a weekday! The woodwork that surrounds you was comforting and clean. They made me feel like a friend. The price was surprisingly low too. read more

This place went whacky since I did the original review years ago. I would never even give a four star review to this place these days. Waitresses quitting for non payment of tips. Food quality all over the map. Still, I do come here. Has beer. An outside bar. Occasional bands. But, yes, it did slide down that hill. No reason for it, they had been busy and earning a profit. I heard issues between different owners. Not a one person proprietorship. Has the worst kind. Owners that work here, owners who don't work here but think they should be making more money sitting on their ass than the employees who do actually work here. And family members. They got it all going on... Oh, and when you complain that the food sucks, it comes off the tab. Almost always. Have met with Classmates from Wilson High School on a number of occasions and they were very accommodating to group us together !! It's not so loud and that made it great for a group of 10 to have conversation with out having to yell at each other The menu is large.., food was great and service was excellent. Went in for dinner on Saturday evening. We were the only table of customers eating. Bar was 1/2 full. We ordered wings, fries and a side of greens. We ordered soda to drink. Our waitress took our order and brought our drinks to us. She then brought out our wings and fries. No greens. She refilled our drinks. We asked about the greens. About 10-15 minutes later, she brought out the greens and did not give us silverware. Once we asked for silverware, she brought us one set. She refilled our drinks again. Once we got our bill, we were charged 2 times for drinks. $10 for soda. The food was mediocre and the service was horrible. Will definitely not be back. read more

I had been going to Crickets since I was young, and they have done a wonderful job with the new updates and renovations. It's great to see this is still such a special place in the Youngstown area. I recently hosted a private event here with about 80 guests and the Crickets staff went above and beyond to make it a really special occasion. I feel like this is the tale of 2 bars, at least when the weathers nice, since the the outside bar and inside bar can often feel like you're in 2 entirely different places. Anyhow...there's plenty of parking and the location is super easy to find, which would make this an easy spot to meet up at. They also have motorcycle only parking, which as a rider I can greatly appreciate. I've never had the food, but I've seen enough other people eating there to know that it has to be good. Beer prices are reasonable. The only knock from me and the only reason why it's a 4-Star and not a 5 is that it's a little busier than would be ideal for me and it affects the speed of service at times, which isn't the fault of the barmaids, just the inherent result of large crowds. Will continue to visit periodically, especially when it's nice out and the outside bar/patio is open. Would recommend. read more

Fun atmosphere and more bar than restaurant. The Kale Cesar Chicken salad had NO kale in it! Out of the 4 meals ordered, only 1 was correct.

Typical bar food with a few things thrown in here and there. The burgers are pretty good along with the Cricket's chicken sandwich,which is a house favorite. The wing sauces are pretty amazing. The garlic parm, Crickets sauce, and the Carolina ish mustard BBQ one but the wings them selves may come over cook. Also yeah it's like the chef doesn't know how to toss wings properly. I could have just as easily given this restaurant a five star rating--it's a toss-up. If you go in with the expectation that it is a dive bar with great dive bar food, it probably deserves a five in that category of eateries. My friend and I both had the fish dinner with THREE sides! This place has great food and is very reasonably priced . The problem is the servers . Hands down rude and overwhelmed at all times. Unprofessional with customers and own staff. This place is always busy because of food but would give 5 stars if they fired every server and replaced with more friendly and efficient people. I should mention that my husband and son frequent this restaurant at least 2x week in spring and summer, so its not like we catch staff on one bad day. We actually keep tally on level of nastiness. Crickets has a lot of plusses. A non-pretentious, somewhat dumpy, neighborhood restaurant and bar, Crickets' food is tasty. Waitresses are decent and friendly. Service can be a bit slow though. Full bar, credit cards accepted, very casual, under $10, The hamburgers are very good, so are the fries. The onion rings are okay. We go here a lot after meetings so there are usually four to eight of us. It is VERY noisy so that you can barely hear the person talking next to you. This is perhaps our only neighborhood restaurant so it's unfortunate about the noise level because we want to go there to enjoy the food but don't want to have to shout at each other. I wish they could install some kind of noise dampening system. They now have a nice, rather spacious outdoor seating area with a bocce ball court. The only downside of the outdoor area is the fake palm tree (and sometimes too much cigarette smoke). Crickets also supports the neighborhood groups clean-up efforts by providing free food which is very much appreciated. Recommended! read more

The food here is very good. The wings are a knock out. Unfortunately on Tuesdays there is loud music so we sit outside on the deck. They didn't turn the heater on for the first 30min we were here. Didn't have our waters refilled at all the whole night. Food took a long time and they got out order wrong. The food is great but don't sit on the back patio. There is one server that does the bars and the tables. If service was better I'd give 4-5/5. Service = 2/5 food is 5/5. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars to a place that serves disgusting and inedible grilled chicken salads!! We went for lunch, and that was a horrible mistake. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and my chicken was literally a piece of sliced up rubber!!!! When I sent the salad back to the kitchen, Mr. Mohawk (the supposed chef) walked out to see who would dare send his inedible food back. Three minutes later the server walks back out with my salad. The chicken was a little less rubbery - but still rubbery. I also noticed that the salad looked extremely wet in one area, where I'm pretty sure he spit in my plate. Needless to say, I wouldn't touch the salad. The server was kind enough to try and get the salad taken off of our bill, but sadly, they wouldn't do it. We are NEVER going to eat there again! Bad service and worse food! I'm pretty sure that the feral raccoons in Youngstown wouldn't touch this chicken!!
