Shrimp and grits
helen g.

We were greeted at the door and seated in a nice booth after the hostess asked if it was where we wanted to sit. Ordered a raspberry lemon drop it was very good, kids meal menu was a good variety, kids got soft drinks with their meal. I got shrimp and grits and it came with a good mixed greens salad I got right away, my daughter got a salad with her chicken and bow tie pasta too. The shrimp and grits was seasoned well had lots of decent sized shrimp I had to cut up to eat and was very cheesy. My daughter's pasta dish was big more than she could eat , I tried it sauce was well seasoned, lots of chicken. Kids hamburger was big we had to cut it in half and he had Mac n cheese I tasted very cheesy and good too. Prices weren't bad , food was good so it was definitely worth it. Definitely would eat there again

Had lunch here with friends. Nice, clean open space with lots of room. Large bar area. The bartender is good and mixes beverages well. The food is also good, and the menu has many creative options to select from. On this trip, I had the cheeseburger with fries. It was prepared medium, just the way I wanted. One of my friends had the shrimp salad and the other chose the Turkey Pesto Melt, which they both enjoyed.

Incredible food, service and ambiance. This place seriously has it all and I don't say that lightly. I have been a regular for the past year because their food is fresh and I love it but it really went to 5 stars in my book after I decided to host my engagement party there. Gina and her team were so attentive to our guest. I did not lift a finger the entire time. The hardest part of planning the event was deciding what food to order and Gina even helped with that. I could not recommend this place enough!

Great food; came back a year later because it was so good! Had chicken and shrimp grilled with cheesy grits, and a side salad. The dish is called West 34; asked for it grilled.

For a daytime person, beautiful hot summer day & How do you say... Express, Palette delicacy and a backup tea‍ to top off a wonderful afternoon or excuse me also, a great start to my evening

Homemade goodness with big city feels! This place has excellent service, food, and ambiance. The ingredients were all top quality, and the menu is eclectic enough to appease the easy eater or the foodie connoisseur with everything from apps, to salads, to sandwiches, to full meat entrees and pastas.

West 34 chicken and The To sampler.

We stopped in on a Monday and downtown was quiet, but the food here was awesome. The signature West 34 chicken and grits and shrimp...fried chicken breast is the thing shrimp and grits never knew it needed! The veggies from the Yo appetizer were needed. Also, don't skip the pepper relish in the Yo! The service was also really good. Our server checked often to make sure we had all we needed. We definitely will be back when we're in Youngstown.

It was my first time coming back to Youngstown after 7 years and my friend suggested we go here. I enjoyed the service and the food! Not to mention the inside looks so nice. I love seeing more restaurants open up downtown. I hope you guys are here to stay!

Yonder Brunch & Vibes

Found this brunch restaurant on Tik Tok so we decided to give it a try. We've tried it on two…read moreoccasions. Both times we were sat immediately. Customer service and the drinks were pretty decent and the food was good. A few takeaways - I highly recommend the staff wear their hair in a pulled back ponytail or wear a hair net. We had hair on our mimosa which was utterly disgusting. The staff should either have a designated entrance (preferably a back door) or if they must come through the front door and in the mix of customers, they should be dressed appropriately to start work. I believe this establishment has potential but business acumen practice should start with the owner leading by example for their employees. From the outside looking in, leadership is truly lacking.

This was genuinely the worst restaurant I ever been to. For context, over the summer, I had an…read moreinternship, and I stayed in the Youngstown area. Because I am from Chicago, I would want to know where all the good food spots are. I found this place on TikTok, and I wanted to treat myself over the weekend after completing a hard project that a lot of engineers could not figure out. So, I was seated quickly, but only because I came in solo. After that, the lady at the bar asked if I wanted anything, and I just wanted water at the moment. Then, after I figured out what I wanted to eat, it took a little over 10 mins for the lady to come through and take my order. I did not think much of it at the time because I was in a good mood. 30 mins have passed by, and I am starting to get hungry. Typically, restaurants take between 30-45 mins with food. Maybe less if not busy. An hour and 15 minutes passed by, and I didn't have my food, so I asked the waitress about my food, and she said it should be out in the next five mins... 10 minutes went by, and I still didn't have anything, so I am starting to get annoyed about it. I asked the waitress again about my stuff, and she told me, "sir your food will be out soon, sweetheart." passively aggressive. I am on the phone with my friend, whispering to her about how the service sucks, and the food is taking too long. She was repeatedly telling me to leave, over and over again, but I was trying to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. About 2 hours passed, and some of my day was gone..... and I just left out through the back because I could not wait anymore. Usually, I am a very patient guy, but after that, I just could not accept that. The free margarita or whatever drink they gave me wasn't the best either, since it was bland. I got in the car, and I told my friend I wish I read reviews sooner because that was genuinely ridiculous. The place has some type of potential, but it needs a lot of work.

Westside Bowl - Nashville Hot Chicken Pizza

It's a full unreserved recommend highly and take Mom and Pop for lunch too! Seriously, Westside Bowl DOES have great pizza. They got a LOT of off street safe free parking. The people who work there are friendly AND fun to look at. (not being mean, I just like green hair and a smile ) There are regularly scheduled bands. Some of which do cost $20+ to see, but it's a good concert space downstairs with a good vibe. It's not like you're stuffed into "JJ's Cave" or something. Remember Nyanhinghi? Nitabinghi? That bar that had music up on Steel street? Same good vibe. And that's really the point I'm trying to make. The Westside Bowl is an exemplar (ha!) of what could happen when good, ON SITE management means to a venue. Hit this place up for some cool and mellow times, and enjoy your afternoon. Your night. Your health. This place will make you younger, I #### you not

Alright, folks, gather 'round, because I've got a tale of a place that serves vegan pizza so good…read morethat even your carnivorous friends will want a slice, gluten-free hot dogs that will make you question your life choices, and wings so crispy, they might just be the eighth wonder of the world. Welcome to Westside Bowl--a glorious mix of dive bar, bowling alley, and quirky restaurant that feels like it was designed by a mad scientist who specializes in both food and fun. Let's talk food first because, let me tell you, this place has vegan and gluten-free options that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about food. Vegan pizza? Yes. And not just any vegan pizza--this stuff is top-tier. The crust is perfect, the toppings are loaded, and it's so satisfying that you'll forget it's vegan. The pickle pizza? I know what you're thinking: "Pickles on pizza? Are we sure about this?" And to that, I say, "Yes. Yes, we are." It's one of the best pickle pizzas I've ever had--salty, tangy, and surprisingly perfect with the cheesy goodness. Now, the vegan hot dogs--they have these magical little things that taste like they've been kissed by the gods of grill. Honestly, if you didn't know they were vegan, you'd just think they were straight-up delicious hot dogs. Mind-blowing. And their wings? Let's just say you'll be licking your fingers and possibly questioning your entire eating philosophy in the best way possible. But enough about the food--let's talk about the atmosphere, which is where Westside Bowl really shines. It's like a quirky, retro dream with an eclectic staff who are... well, let's say "memorable." The owners? Incredible. They run this place with a vision and passion that's contagious. And then there's the staff--oh boy, the staff. They are the kind of characters you'll either love or love to hate. But let's be real: they're the kind of eclectic personalities that make the place fun. Now, here's the thing. One fateful evening, I had a run-in with a security guard/bouncer that I'm not proud of. To put it lightly, I got embarrassed to the point where I haven't exactly rushed back in. This bouncer? Let's just say he took "security" to a whole new level--like he was personally invested in my awkwardness. He created a level of second-hand embarrassment for me that I will carry to my grave, calling me out for coming in with "various friends," insinuating to a full bar I was of unsavory character but wasn't dating any of them. But honestly? The food, the drinks, and the overall vibe are so incredible that I'm willing to forgive the odd awkward encounter and keep coming back for more. And let's be clear: the drinks here are almost as amazing as the food and atmosphere. They've got cocktails and beers that fit the energy of the place--fun, eccentric, and definitely a conversation starter. If you haven't tried the signature drinks, you're missing out. So, if you're looking for a place that's alternatively quirky, fun, and delicious, Westside Bowl is where you want to be. Just maybe check the security situation before you get too comfortable. The food alone is worth the occasional "oops" moment. And besides, if you're looking for a great time and amazing food, the occasional embarrassment just adds to the charm. Trust me. Go for the wings, stay for the pickle pizza, and let the vibes do the rest. Just avoid making eye contact with the bouncer or coming in with friends as he may accuse you of being a harlot for no reason.
