Visited here with a larger group on Christmas Eve. Chophouse has a fancy vibe. The staff is quite friendly. They had a nice selection of fun holiday beverages that a few of us tried. They ranged from sweet to boozy. It was a nice variety that offered something for everyone. For dinner I tried the crab crusted salmon. It was a good pairing, but the salmon without the crab left something to be desired. The Chophouse offers a vegan/vegetarian menu, but you do have to ask for it. One of the featured items on that menu was the ratatouille. It was fantastic and I would certainly recommend it. For sides I greatly enjoyed the Caesar salad, which was not too fishy, and the whipped Yukons were a delight. Large parties can be a challenge, but regardless I found the service to be a bit inconsistent. Though always friendly, we had to remind our server of items that we had asked for on more than one occasion. Near the end of the meal it seemed that the bussers were pushing for us to wrap things up and get out, despite not having been there for a terribly long time. We were asked multiple times if certain items could be cleared while we were still eating them. They just didn't seem to have a good feel for this. We came for Valentine's Day. We lucked out and got a seat at the bar. The beet salad was the best I've ever had! Thick slices of beets dressed with Gorgonzola (or maybe bleu cheese) slivered toasted almonds over fresh greens. I'm glad I made the cohort get his own. My seafood pasta was phenomenal. OOF! Last night we had a larger party for a birthday. Waitress Anne was great. We both ordered chicken franchise. What we got was a breaded chicken breast. It wasn't flattened and pounded like it should have been. It was a whole chicken breast. If we weren't with other people it would have gone back. $100+ down the drain. Had dinner while staying at The Grand Resort as it came highly recommended. It did not disappoint! Started with the ahi tuna app and lobster nachos. Both were delicious, but agreed the tuna was a scarce portion size (5 small pieces). The lobster nachos were huge - and covered with all kinds of goodness! Definitely ask what is on them if you order - lots of tomatoes and green olives. I had the lamb lollipops appetizer as my dinner and it was amazing. Some of the best I've ever had and very affordable. Had we not ordered the appetizers... I probably would've went with the full dinner. My husband ordered the lamb shank and the portion size was huge which was great leftover the next day. Overall service and food was fantastic! I don't know. I've been here lots of times over the years, and it never thrilled me. Don't get me wrong, it's good...but it's not great. The restaurant is nice, as is the décor. It looks like the type of restaurant you would have to dress-up to attend. But there are people coming straight off the golf course to dine here, so there are some shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and ballcaps. The food is good, but nothing has stood out enough to say "I have to have that again!" The best thing on the menu is actually the Angry Lobster Roll appetizer. That is a must-have. Everything else is just there. For the prices they are charging, these dishes should be outstanding Also, since this restaurant shares their parking lot with the hotel and golf course, it's tough to find a parking spot without a long walk. read more

I have never had a bad meal, steak and fish were made to perfection. Crab cakes are to die for! This is our favorite date night!

My family has been regularly coming here since they opened. The food and service is always consistently great. It's also a beautiful restaurant. We came today to celebrate Thanksgiving since we had to be apart on the actual day. My mom and I had the sirloin steak with blue cheese and onion straws. The steak was a little chewy which is unusual. The baked potato was good. The clam chowder was amazing. My husband got his favorite dish, the chicken francaise which he loved. He also loved his rice pilaf and wedding soup. My cousin loved his cod francaise. My cousins loved their chicken salad with balsamic vinegar. My other cousin loved her French dip even though it took three tries for them to send it without peppers that make her sick. It was great they have what they call happy hour from 11-4 every day. That definitely saved money. You get an entree, two sides and desserts for a reduced price. They have great options on the menu too with multiple price points. I visited the chophouse for the first time for Mother's Day dinner. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. While I was a little disappointed that the menu offering was different/limited compared to what was listed online, everything my party ordered was very good. We ordered the mozzarella marinara, the spinach artichoke dip, angry lobster rolls and the surf and turf sampler for appetizers. I would order each of those again with the exception of the spinach artichoke dip, it wasn't bad it just wasn't anything special. My favorite were the angry lobster rolls, they were so good. I ordered the crab crusted salmon for my entree which was delicious even after re-heating it the next day. The best part of the meal was the peach mule I ordered. It was so good I had 2! And I have been ordering whenever I see it in other menus but they haven't been nearly as good. Overall the chophouse was a great experience in a beautiful location. The food was not cooked the way it was requested. Please learn the differences between rare, medium rare, medium well, and well. It is unacceptable that you do not know which is which. This is now 4 out of the last 5 trips that this issue occurred. I would not recommend it. Which is sad. This used to be my favorite place to eat. Over the last four years it has been a slow decline that accelerated to a quick drop in the last two years. We used to dine here at least once a month.
