Better service, better chef/cook. My wife and I stopped spending money at your business roughly a year ago ago after being Friday or Saturday regulars roughly since you opened. I had the mein noodles and it came out 3rd degree burn hot, which was the 1 problem with the food. Way too much soy sauce and too spicy for lo Mein. 4 shrimp in the dish and for 23.00$. I expected better quality. Service was mediocre at best with a waitress showing all cleavage below the waist with skin tight shorts. Not proper attire for a restaurant. We happened to be down in Canfield for lacrosse game for our kids it was the last game of the season and it ran a little late. So I wandered into the stands and talked to some locals about a place to get a late dinner and all of them seem to arrive at one place which was the village pump. We were forewarned that sometimes they're not open late and it was creeping up on 9:00 but we decided to roll the dice in man am I glad we did. It is a restaurant built into a strip mall which that's not a detractor but there was a lot of happy people in there and look like a lot of locals and regulars. A waitress was sweet as pie and wasted no time getting us our burgers and ice teas. We ended up getting a side salad as well the portions were very generous and it's pretty easy to screw up a burger this place just had it nailed it was a great solid Burger.. my burger was the house burger and this thing was a freaking monster. Had a gigantic toothpick break down the middle of it as well which of course came in handy after the meal LOL. Because I'm not a caveman and my wife was watching me I did cut the burger in half and it was cooked perfectly medium. It's crazy I didn't even look at a menu but I also found out later they have beef stroganoff and lo mein. Kind of bummed I probably will not be down in Canfield anytime soon but if I am I'm definitely going to stop in this place it's pretty awesome. read more

No more village pump. Ordered the pops big steak salad to go . Told me over an hour wait . Said fine probably busy. Came home to no egg, hardly any cheese at all, dressing already mixed in which made the lettuce soggy , for 20$. Tried calling the place but the phone is off the hook . I've no idea when I'll ever be back in this part of OH but if I am, I'll be at the Village Pump. The burgers were very good, the beer was good. But the vibe was fantastic. A true local pub. It doesn't look like the pubs I knew years ago in England, but it felt like them. The locals were there and the conversation flowed. This was a nice find on our road trip through OH. The looks on the outside is deceiving but inside it's a little gem. The menu is surprisingly varied. The service was excellent and the waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten free options. No cocktail menu but they have a pretty decent selection of bourbon at the bar. The brussel sprouts are tasty! Hubs had the turkey panini and I had the beet and candied walnut salad. I really liked my salad! Love this restaurant, the food and service is always top notch. But the other night we were celebrating a birthday and the music was so LOUD we couldn't even hear each other. We asked to have it turned down with no resolution. It was bad music at that, so loud couldn't even hear the words. Don't know why they think people want to enjoy dinner with this in the back ground, no one wants to hear Loud noise while having a get together. I was having a great time. All of a sudden I was being rushed out, and they paid my tab. I know that sounds great. What bar pays someones tab to get them to leave. My husband and I came here last night and we were really pleased with the staff there. Real friendly, efficient, helpful. The food was really excellent. For these two reasons we would return. Two cons though were all the high-top tables and only 3-4 booths. Not everyone is comfortable with high-tops. Number 2 was the only ice tea was a sweetened raspberry tea. I'm cannot drink sweetened drinks, but unsweetened tea was not available. That left me with water. This is fixable. read more

I had high hopes coming into this great place! Everything on the menu looked delicious! I think my friends and I simply ordered the wrong items. We had the goat cheese mac n cheese. I am a lover for goat cheese but I felt like it was missing something. It needed some some herbs or breadcrumbs to step it up a notch. Next we had mussels and the park belly which was good but the pork belly was a bit dry and not marinaded all the way. The cocktails sounded delicious but were both watered down. read more

Very cool spot tucked inside Canfield. Sort of gives off a gastro-pub vibe. The menu is sort of random, but the food is really unique and very delicious. The cheese board appetizer contains a really great selection of meats and cheeses, as well as a few pickled vegetables that were excellent. The specials were really interesting and the prices were mostly very fair. The Dan Dan noodles are supposedly really spicy, but I didn't think they were that bad. The jerk seasoning on the fish was much spicier, in my opinion. read more

There website says open until 10 pm on weekdays wasted a trip to drive there to get food and they say they closed at 9pm. Also when you call to check the times they don't answer the phone. We were really excited to see a new restaurant in the area. We went early one afternoon and were seated right away. The hostess was nice. But it rapidly went downhill from there. The menu looked interesting, and we were excited to try some new things, however that was not to be. Our waitress was perhaps the rudest person we've ever been served by. She had such a chip on her shoulder from the beginning, that three interactions before we could even get a drink left such a bad taste in our mouths that we had to get up and leave. We asked for a manager, but no one seemed interested in helping us out, even though we were one of only 3 tables there. Also, the place is obviously a bar with fancy bar food, but when we asked for a drink menu our impatient waitress basically yelled at us to say they didn't have one. We may try to go another time, but it's gonna be a while. read more

The food is always consistent and always amazing. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Youngstown area.

So disappointed... the place came highly recommended by a friend and yet I struggle to find much positive to say about the experience. The first issue which should have turned us away at the door was the noise.. blaring music turned loud enough to be distorted causing diners to shout across the tables, in such a small space really was unnerving. As far as the food goes, the two items we were told to try were the rice balls and the brussel sprouts... the rice balls were just blah, tasted like fried cheese with marinara sauce. Dull. The brussel sprouts were burnt chunks and inedible . My ribeye was the only positive in the whole meal, it was cooked perfectly and tasty but the sauce on the side was not good and the arugula was even worse. My wife had the cod which she enjoyed well enough but complained of the small portion size and the no bread offering. Bottom line is we should have went next door because that place does it right. read more
