Labor Day weekend. Renting a house nearby. Decided to have lunch and some drinks. This seemed good. They had the Ohio State game on. We got some drinks. Drink menu decent but not outstanding. Menu pretty large. We are with a group so everyone got something. A few wings. A few sandwiches. We got the Vinny hot. Pretty good. Cheese melty and fresh cut fries. Fries could have been crispier. The Tator tots were good and crispy. Server was super nice. Place is big. Very friendly. But they have Squeelers crap around. Go Browns!!! The place is cute and beachy, so I totally understand why it attracts people around the lake. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with my husband; place was not very busy. Ordered the seasoned fries as an appetizer which came out pretty fast but was room temp when we got it. I ordered the Louisiana lickers wings that came out only a few minutes after the fries. Wings just tasted like they were covered in vinegar. I couldn't eat more than a couple. My husband ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza that came out probably a good 20-30 minutes after my wings so he just asked for a to go box. Started eating it in the car and actually spit it out because the chicken on it was so fatty and chewy. So... a $40 meal with none of it being worth it. The server also didn't seem to notice or at least acknowledge that my food was left mostly uneaten and my husband wasn't thrilled that his food took so much longer to come out. The presentation of the food was really good! love the shrimp tacos. They were delicious, the black bean and rice were super tasty. Their service was great, very attentive and friendly. The ambience of the restaurant was awesome. The kind of place that you want to just have a bite to eat, hang out, have some drinks and enjoy the view of the lake, which was beautiful.If you want to get away to just enjoy the lake view and watch the sunset This is a place to come alone or with friends. Hey to anyone ordering 8" pizzas from Castaways, DON'T! I've been getting their 8" pizzas for a long time, takeouts & at the restaurant. Just picked up 3 of them today and it's the first time ever each were in a Styrofoam take out container. Because of the moisture, this pizza was sooooo soggy, like someone used a spray bottle on it. Definitely disappointed with the taste today. Thought I'd call there and just let them know what those containers are doing to their good pizzas. The girl who answered, one, could care less and second, said that they have always come in Styrofoam and nobody has ever complained. This is a first for me and last. Pizza comes in a cardboard box for a reason. Hope they make a change because there are to many pizza places around that still use cardboard pizza boxes. read more

Pretty awesome little place across from the beach with nice views along with spacious indoor and outdoor seating. Some good: Fish and Shrimp tacos were decent but not a ton of natural flavor, the Thai sauce made them pop. Kettle chips were great along with the French onion dip. They have KENO! And they have a ton of TVs for sports! They were easily able to seat our party of 10. Some bad: My wife hated the Ruben and said the corned beef was super thick with soggy bread. The food was burnt and the wait for food was almost 2 hours when the place was more than 1/2 empty. It seems like they made the French fries and put them in the fridge while they turned burgers into charcoal briquettes. Most of the Food was not edible and I ended up taking my kid to get fast food after. The server tried and apologized a lot but never got a single drink refill and then management wasn't receptive to handling concerns appropriately. Food: 0/10. Service: 2/10. Atmosphere 10/10- if they could everything else together it would be a vibe. I normally only give good reviews but the way management handled the concerns and treated us, I felt like something needed said. I have no plans of ever going back there. If you are interested in leaving a restaurant frustrated, hungry and thirsty after a wonderful day on the lake, this is your spot. read more

First visit. Good service, good food. I got the shrimp tacos and fries. Shrimp is sautéed, not battered or breaded and fried. Came out hot, with a side of Thai chili sauce. Was really quite nice. Wife got the fish and chips. Fish was breaded, also came out nice and hot. Both dishes tasted great. Has a large glass front, so you get a nice view of Lake Milton across the street. What an unexpected find. Out for a drive on a sunny afternoon and came upon this place across from the Lake Milton. Cute beachy vibe. Started with a Bloody Mary for me and a Corona from my husband. Bloody Mary was spicy as I requested. We ordered the spicy cheese bites as an appetizer, and would highly recommend them. My salmon, with couscous was delicious, and my husband's shrimp and grits were amazing. A step way above your normal bar food. Waitstaff was pleasant and efficient. if you're out that way, we would recommend stopping and giving it a try. read more

We thought we would check out this place with the band outside, we were sat right away outside and then no one ever came back to our table. We waited over a half hour and never got asked about drinks or food. When we went to walk out there was 6-8 workers behind the cash register talking to each other with no customers in sight. No reason for the non existent service. We tried another bar up the street, The Grandview Tavern" and was blow away with how great the food and service was. The burger would have been good but for the bun I received two bottoms that seemed stale. Wish I could give zero stars. Worst service in the world. Spent over 2.5 hours, my husband never got his food, they said they were going to take it off the bill but only gave us a 10% discount on his meal. Worst part is he is a type 1 diabetic and really needed to eat. We got up and got our own drinks they charged us twice for those. This place is criminal. The total bill for our group was over $300. Cuban dishes are good and large portions. I've eaten there three times, but won't return because they now tack a 3% charge on to total bill as a "service fee" with no advance notice to patrons. Servers don't receive it. It's simply an up charge. You have to pay it even if you're paying cash! It's a rip off. read more

Went to Castaway Craig's in Lake Milton last night and when checking the bill when done, noticed "Service Fee" of 3%. Figured it was if a credit card was used to pay bill, and I totally understand that, but when I said we were paying the bill with cash, and asked if that fee would come off, the waitress said it is just charged on all bills, credit cards or cash. Tips were figured on bottom of receipt so what is the service fee for. No excuse was given. Not sure this is legal. Watch your bills there. read more

I was a little skeptical after reading a few Yelp horror stories, but glad I went and judged for myself. The service was fast and every employee was very friendly. They were almost to capacity but we were seated within a few minutes. Drink orders were taken immediately! The food was very good, better than the average "small town pub grub" you usually get in these type of places. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, prices very reasonable. Only one complaint, and that was we were outside and next to a couple smokers. Of course that's nobody's fault! If it were a big problem we could've just sat indoors, but it was a gorgeous day. Terrible food, terrible service.Calzones are never cooked , always doughy. The menu itself is trash.
