    More of the diner.

We were in Granville for a track meet and arrived quite early (8:30am). We decided to grab some breakfast but really had no idea where to go. We stopped in at the Buxton Inn...they don't serve breakfast. We didn't feel like going to the Granville Inn because it didn't seem as inviting or as open, literally, (We didn't know how to get into the place). So we did a quick U-turn and ventured West on Broadway. We parked in front of a little eatery called The Aladdin Diner. Upon entering we knew we had found an awesome place to eat. Prices were unbelievably low and the staff was unbelievably friendly and welcoming. I decided that for me, lunch would be breakfast and I enjoyed a great hamburger with hand-cut fries. As we were paying our bill, the waitress advised that there is an aladdin Diner in Columbus! as I thought about it, I remembered seeing the small restaurant on Thurman Avenue in the heart of German Village. Do yourself a favor and either make the trip to Grandville to enjoy a wonderful destination meal or head down to German Village in Columbus and enjoy what I promise will be a satisfying experience.

Nice diner along the attractive street with other different types of eateries. You seat yourselves, and the menus are on the table. This is a 60s style diner. Not trendy or hip, just good food at a good price. The ceiling looks like old fashioned tin. Pictures of Granville landmarks line the main wall. The other side is a grill and counter with stools. We both ordered the patty melt which came with chips. The nice waitress asked if we wanted the chips or another side. I asked for cottage cheese in place of chips, and I received a hefty serving. Coffee was fresh and decent. There was an empty high shelf that would be perfect for a decorated tree. On street parking. Single bathroom was clean.

Authentic home cooked breakfast fair. The bacon is locally sourced (Columbus) and it shows. Love this place

Quint indoors and limited seating make it very popular on the weekends for breakfast

Great little place. Love it. You go there expecting exactly what you see. A little hole in the wall restaurant with tons of eclectic atmosphere and "American Comfort Foods." If you want exotic tastes and menu, look elsewhere. My boys and I have been going for YEARS. Yes they have up and downs in food quality of the years but I've never had bad food. It's cheap and it's quick. In fact quicker than Wendy's (down the road). Overall a great place to go in and grab a quick bite to eat!

Veganizing the basic oatmeal. They make it with water.

The oatmeal is made with water so I got the oatmeal with no butter or milk and ordered a black coffee. I brought my own vegan creamer and vegan butter and ordered the berries and raisins to embellish it all. See photo. Aladdin needs more vegan options! Vegan = 100% plant-based alternatives (plant meats -such as vegan chickin, vegan porq, vegan "beyond beef", plant milks (almond, cashew, coconut, soy, rice, hemp, oat etc), plant butters, plant cheeses, plant yogurts, plant creamers, plant eggs, or seitan, or tofu) vegan cookies, cakes, ice-creams, scones, etc) and substitutes for conventional animal-based foods, or just 100% plant foods that are delicious. (Ex: Chili that is bean and vegetable based with no animal meat or cheese or animal broths) use vegetable broth instead of chicken or beef broth in otherwise vegetable soups. Instead of animal proteins in everything, provide healthier, lower calorie, sustainable plant proteins such as: beans, lentils and nuts and seeds, or mushrooms. For creamy-fatty cheese like flavors/textures- try avocados or nuts and seeds. Fruits, berries, greens, grains, potatoes, tubers etc. are other important options to provide, even broccoli and cauliflower are loaded with adequate amounts of important nutrients and proteins. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, french toast etc. can be made vegan as well with affordable, shelf-stable non refrigeration required egg and dairy substitutes like The Vegg or plant milks. http://freepress.org/article/%E2%80%9Cno-option%E2%80%9D-not-option-vegans

Stop off visiting family and wanted Sunday breakfast at a local eatery. Ordered a veggie omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. YUM!

The Pub on Broadway has been a staple since 2005, with good reason. The bar is a work of art, with warm hardwood features and a great selection of options. The menu is diverse, including Brussels sprouts topped with hot honey ($5), a bourbon-bacon burger made with sauteed mushrooms & onions, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, house-made bourbon sauce, and provolone, $19), a Pub-made mac & cheese entrée (house-made five cheese blend sauce, cavatappi pasta, topped with shredded cheddar-jack, served with toasted focaccia bread, $17), a full pizza menu, and a kids' menu with hot dogs, grilled cheese, buttered noodles, and chicken tenders ($7-8). I was moderately hungry, so I ordered a cup of chili ($7) and a side of battered fries ($5), along with a cider and bourbon boilermaker. Service was excellent, there was no waiting for a table around noon, and both selections came out piping hot. The chili was true comfort food, and the sandwich was sized so that I could have the second half the following day. The seating is spacious, sound level permits a conversation at normal levels, and the restroom was well-maintained and clean. It's good to know that the community supports this long-time favorite.

Whether you're a local or just passing through the village, it's a spot that consistently delivers on its promises. The Highlights - Exceptional Bar Staff: The service at the bar is genuinely top-tier. The bartenders here aren't just order-takers; they are craftspeople who know their way around a shaker and offer excellent recommendations with a side of genuine hospitality. Consistently Great Food: You rarely have an "off" night here. From the seasonal entrees to the classic staples, the kitchen maintains a level of quality and presentation that makes every meal feel like a special occasion. A Wine Lover's Haven: The wine selection is expansive and thoughtfully curated. If you really want the full experience, their wine flights are a total hit The Reality Check - The only real "con" to mention is the price point. It is certainly on the higher side for the region, and your bill can climb quickly if you're exploring that impressive wine list. However, this is a classic case of getting what you pay for. Between the ambiance, the caliber of the ingredients, and the polished service, the value is definitely there. Whether it's a mid-week dinner or a weekend hangout, they managed to nail the "elevated neighborhood gem" vibe perfectly. The Food The star of the show is undoubtedly the wood-fired pizza. You can taste the authenticity in the crust--perfectly charred with that signature smoky finish you can only get from a real wood oven. The toppings are fresh, and the balance of flavors shows they aren't just making pizza; they're perfecting it. On the lighter (but equally delicious) side, the fish tacos are a standout. It's rare to find a wood-fired joint that treats seafood with this much respect. The fish is always flaky and fresh, complemented by bright, crisp toppings that make for a perfect contrast to the rich, smoky pizzas. The Service What truly sets Elliot's apart, though, is the bar staff. The service here is consistently top-notch. The team is incredibly knowledgeable--whether you're looking for a specific craft beer pairing or a recommendation from their cocktail list, they know the menu inside and out. It's the kind of place where the staff makes you feel like a regular from your very first visit. Final Verdict: Excellent food, a great tap list, and a team that actually knows their stuff.
