They had a breakfast "pop up" for I don't know how long but they were or are cranking out breakfast sandwiches. They were pretty delectable along with the tasty potatoes and complimentary sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, Rooh was welcoming dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Seat yourself, order at the bar, fun brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This option is great. No fuss, casual, great quality food and service. Wonderful drink options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a wonderful option for a quick brunch in the short north.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had an amazing time at ROOH! I sat at the bar and got amazing service from the bartender, who had great recommendations. I got the sweet potato chaat to start, which was so unique, savory, crunchy, and tangy. next I had the vegetable korma, with super spicy potato-corn-artichoke dumplings in a rich, flavorful curry gravy. the garlic naan was well worth the extra $1. I finished off the meal with the masala chai which was served in a gorgeous glass and was so indulgent and aromatic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the whole time, lively Indian inspired music was playing and people were happily chatting away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 for food, service, and ambiance!

With Rooh beginning a pop-up breakfast service in April 2026, the Mrs. and I had to see how it compared to its wonderful dinner service. Fear not, all is well in the a.m. We tried 3 savory items, 3 sweet items and an Ube Matcha that was good to this coffee 'un-aficionado'. The kitchen craftsmanship was apparent in every offering - striking the perfect balance that is required when blending Indian recipes/spices/-inspired dishes into other types of cuisine. Not everything we tried was "THE BEST EVER," and that's not an insult. Again, it's the presentation and obvious care that went into each dish that separates Rooh from the pack... along with a fleet of options that taste good. The standout savory dish was the Tandoori Chicken Croissant Spiral. But the fluffiest Egg Sandwich I've ever had and Crispy Chicken Sandwich did not disappoint. On the sweet side, the Jaggery Triple Chocolate Chip was double the depth of any gourmet cookie I've ever had. The Buckeye in Dubai Tart was nice but tiny. The winner in this category was the Mango Ras Malai Croissant because their croissants are outstanding. Several breakfast menu items are made with the croissant, and I venture to say that if you just ordered all of them, you would have a terrific experience.

Vegetarian delight! Upscale Indian food - super flavorful, approachable for those who might shy from traditional Indian food. I've been twice for happy hour menu (at the bar, M-F 5-6p) for $10 cocktails and $10 appetizers. Best appetizer by far was the sweet potato chaat. Must order if you dine here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly, bar seating was comfortable, very cool decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We came in a Sunday around 11 for brunch pop up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was ample seating and was a relaxing, upscale atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was very friendly and kindly explained any questions. Fried chicken sandwich: solid fried chicken sandwich with pickles. Bun was toasted well and held the sandwich together nicely. Paneer toast with poached egg: would recommend this as it's more unique. Crispy potatoes: solid smashed potatoes that were roasted to a perfect crisp. Came with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. Mango ras malai croissant: would recommend if you like mangoes. This is a cream mango filled croissant roll. Great blend of sweet and salty. The croissant was flaky on the outside. Hot Vanilla bean matcha mango cream foam with oat milk. You can ask for it to be less sweet. Very solid matcha. The mango cold foam was really good and reminded me the mango flavor is a mango lassi. Hot jaggery matcha ube cream foam with oat milk. Very solid matcha. This is sweet, but not as sweet as other ube drinks. It's more earthy. I'd love to come back and try their dinner.

This place was delicious!!! We got multiple items to share - butter chicken, plain naan, truffle Parmesan naan, Sweet Potato Chaat, Green Pea & Goat Cheese Kulcha, Crispy Cauliflower Koliwada. 10/10 flavor and very easy to share. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was also very clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would come back 100%!

Rainy Friday blues. So I decided to UberEats warmth from Rooh. I loved the Tandoori spiral croissant and egg nest croissant. Deliciously creative concoctions.

ROOH is the kind of place that makes you pause mid-bite and look at your table like, "Okay... this is really good." Everything we ordered was thoughtful, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. The menu feels modern and creative without losing what makes Indian food so comforting. Service was outstanding: warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. The pacing was perfect too, which is underrated and honestly makes the whole night feel elevated. Cocktails were next-level (balanced, interesting, not syrupy), and every dish had that "you can tell the kitchen cares" vibe. Loved everything!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for a spot that feels special without feeling stuffy, ROOH nails it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll be back, again and again.

All right, let's talk about this place. Walked in with a lot of excitement and anticipation of excellence in every realm of hospitality. You walk in and you place your order and find a spot to sit. The menu is limited but interesting with good choices. Surprisingly, our food arrived within 10 to 15 minutes of sitting down. Our drinks were nowhere in sight. We patiently waited as we work through our food. At this point the dessert had arrived but our drinks were still nowhere to be found. Nobody communicated with us about what was going on and why the delay in drinks. So words did not check on us during this time after putting the food on our table. Approximately after 35 minutes of sitting down someone from the bar yelled out our name for us to go pick up the drinks. At this point we would expect at least some level of mild apology for the delay. None of that was provided. The drinks were watered down and when we brought it to the server's attention. We were told that the bartender was on leave today and they did not know how to make drinks. So basically they're telling us they somehow mixed everything together and put it in a cup and gave it to us. The drinks were awful but nobody cared. Not looking to come back because of this experience unfortunately since our presence was not welcome and nobody cared about customers. Oh and I forgot to ask that the drinks that they placed on our tables were in a leaky drink cup as shown in the pictures.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Short North area on High St on a Friday night is a little crazy. There are dozens of restaurants/bars, but most of them are packed on a Friday night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We walked up and down the whole street looking for a place to eat where we wouldn't have to wait at least 45 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rooh wasn't too busy and we were getting pretty hungry so we decided to give it a try.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now we know why they weren't crowded. The food is not very good. And expensive too. Rooh is trying to be an elevated Indian restaurant, but all it ends up doing is making stuff expensive. All we ordered was an appetizer (sweet potato chaat) and an entree (butter chicken) for the 2 of us to share. I had to dig through the sweet potato chaat to find any sweet potato. The taste was OK. The butter chicken had very little spice and almost no heat. It also only came with either rice or naan (not both). Just for those 2 items and a couple drinks (don't order the Kingfisher beer), our bill was almost $80.

Located in the Short North, Rooh is an excellent restaurant to experience authentic, gourmet Indian Cuisine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience here is amazing, with one of the best designed/aesthetically pleasing restaurants in the area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and their service is phenomenal. Every dish has a great depth of flavor and tastes absolutely delicious. The beef short rib is spectacular! If you're in the mood for Indian cuisine, you need try out Rooh!

The service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has plenty of seats for big parties or more intimate seatings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food phenomenal. Allergy friendly.......definitely not. I went with some coworkers as they stated this was one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. I have anaphylaxis to milk protein. I tend to avoid restaurants that have cream based meals. This restaurant was good to show me what meals had milk products or didn't. Unfortunately cross contamination happened and to the ER I went. The dinner I had was beef short ribs, and it was absolutely delicious. If I didn't have food allergy I would come here on a weekly basis. If you do have food allergies be very aware.

It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.
