I picked up Lamb Curry and Garlic Naan....hot, fresh, DELICIOUS!! I've been away from this place for far too long.

Very nice restaurant, very clean and tidy, the staff there were really kind and attentive, and there was lots of tasty foods I got to try. However, I was very disappointed in the Chicken Tikka Masala. I absolutely LOVE Indian and have gone to many restaurants across the US. maybe I just came on the wrong day, but it was very bland (I could tell by the beige color before I even tasted it) Even though I got the "medium-hot" on the spicy scale, it tastes like I asked for no spice at all. It was still good and creamy but it didn't have that full luxurious flavor I am use too. I like to feel the heat in my face, but it didn't even tickle my tong. read more

So Mark and I decided to check out Aab's lunch buffet the other day... Mixed feelings here... The food is quite tasty but the price is high for lunch ($16.99) especially considering the limited number of offerings. Also, the items marked "Spicy" really weren't spicy at all. On the plus side, I got a Taj Mahal beer and it was competively priced at $8 a bottle. The service was excellent with all the staff helping with removing used plates and checking to make sure things were all good for us. The ambiance is upscale casual and very tastefully done. I honestly doubt that I'd go back for the buffet but I am up for another visit to try more things on the menu. Also, the "Suggested Gratuity Amount" is wrong. It should be for your food and drink only. They are including tax in their calculations so if you're going by their numbers, you're paying sales tax and tipping on it too. That being said, I'd give these folks 4 stars. read more

Aab is one of my favorite restaurants -- the food is always so delicious, and the environment is warm and inviting. The saucy curries are the best in town, in my opinion -- I've never had a bad meal, and the portions are so generous that I can almost always count on having leftovers to enjoy later. Lately, I have found service to be rather slow (the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars), though servers themselves are always very friendly. I'd eat here once a week if I could! read more

Looking for an Indian buffet open on a weekday, we found this. I've heard good things, but just don't get over this way much. Parking was easy on a weekday morning. Staff were super friendly, and efficient, and patient with a kid. The buffet was smaller than I'd hoped, but still, plenty to choose from, for adults and kids. K had pakora, fruit, naan, and desserts. And a mango lassi. I tried just about everything. Good, not great. Spicy stuff wasn't very spicy. Meat was tender and flavorful, sauces were of course flavorful. I'd never had egg pakora before, and theirs was very good. The veggie pakora was different than what I'm used to: softer, and not as varied. I left not quite stuffed, and the price was a bit high for the size and quality. Slightly lower prices for kids. Maybe the buffet is bigger on weekends? Otherwise it's fine, but we have better Indian buffets in town. read more

Great service, wonderful variety, good for large-ish groups, I'm happy!! The "BEST" Indian food I've had in the area? Well, hmmmm, I'll need to do more "research" (woohooooo!!) to be sure... Check out their menu ahead of time if you're like me (indecisive, not 100% up on Indian "standards," and ALWAYS hungry!!) I decided to skip the usual dishes this time and go for the veg and non-veg appetizer samplers. Pretty good, no complaints, VERY share-able, but not really enough variety between the two to order both. I was secretly coveting my fellow diners' kormas, vindaloos, and assorted curries, all of which looked WONDERFUL. Will have to make a return visit to try more...!! Come hungry, leave happy... Locals call it the "best Indian restaurant in town," and it certainly lives up to the reputation. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent. We started with cocktails and Indian beers, accompanied by appetizers of vegetable samosas and vegetable pakoras. For the main course, we ordered chicken curry, Malai Kofta, and Paneer Tikka, all served with fresh naan bread. The food was flavorful, with generous portions. I am a child 9 years old and I would say that this place is delicious! I would recommend the cantaloupe it is yummy and soft you should get it at the end of your meal.the service is wonderful everyone is nice. It is very clean and it's quiet and it looks really Indian they also have a lot of elephants (aka the best animal!) You should go here!!! read more

Visited recently and really liked the ambience -- the space is clean and comfortable. However, the buffet spread was quite limited and didn't meet expectations. The service also felt lacking, as the staff and management came across as unwelcoming, which impacted the overall experience. I have been trying to find a good Indian spot in the area & this place definitely hit the spot! I made it in time for dinner with some friends and we decided to order different things & try out some new dishes & we lovedddd all of it! The portion sizes were huge and we did have some leftovers so i would definitely suggest one dish & rice for a duo. The mango lassi was also amazing. I always order it when i get the chance and it did not disappoint. My only criticism is that it was served warm and I'm used to having it cold. The service was on point & our server had great recommendations and was quick to refill our drinks as well. Overall an amazing spot for Indian food !! read more

Best North Indian restaurant I've tried in Columbus so far. I tried their lunch buffet and the food was great. The chicken tikka masala is a 3/5 but their sabaz chicken is 4.5/5 for me. The entrees are a bit expensive starting at $18 but the buffet is worth it. Here's the rate I would give the other dishes I sampled at the buffet that day: aloo tikki: 4.5/5, aloo cabbage 3/5, saag paneer 3.5/5, mater paneer 3.5/5, chicken vindaloo 3/5, gulab jammun 3/5. The customer population was very diverse so I can say that the food will suit almost anyone's palate The staff were nice as well and they really promote cleanliness, providing disinfectants and disposable gloves before serving the buffet. My only wish is that they have more food to choose from at the buffet. read more

Aab is my favorite Indian restaurant in Columbus and I definitely crave their food often. I've been here for regular dinner service as well as for their lunch buffet, both of which definitely hit my Indian food cravings. Their lunch buffet is a fair price, though its gone up with COVID and inflation. I believe the food rotates day to day so its a bit of a surprise what they'll have but I've never been let down by it. Of course I have my favorites like butter chicken and tikka masala (cause I'm basic af) however, everything I've had has been very tasty. They also seem to bring out fresh food quite often. As for dinner, its a pretty casual vibe as well and wait staff is attentive. I came with my friend and got saag paneer, lamb vindaloo, and surprise chicken tikka. The lamb vindaloo was awesome, nice chunks of lamb and the curry sauce was just top notch. Long story short, if you want Indian food, you can't go wrong at Aab. Writing this review makes me want to make a trip back os hit me up if you want a buddy to join haha read more

Attended a post-wedding dinner recently. I'm not overly familiar with Indian food so I may have missed the names of some items. I do remember the Nan and Garlic Nan which we could use to soak up the Chicken Masala or Lamb stew (don't recall exactly which Lamb offering, but it was delicious). Vegetarian options were available - Saag Kofta and Malai Kofta with their accompanying spinach, or onion side dishes. For dessert I tried the Raita, which I found delicious. Others tried the chutney or a pickle dish. It may have been the company more than the food, but our party gorged themselves - I had no complaints and heard none about the food or service. read more

Stopped here on the way back from Hocking Hills back to Michigan. They were crowded for the lunch buffet. We didn't have to wait to be seated as we had called ahead. Service is very good and Food variety and taste was too. Enough for both Vegetarians and meat lovers. (Chicken and lamb/goat) Dessert was mango custard with fruit. I would recommend everyone to try it out. It looked like a restaurant street for this part of Columbus. They had outdoor seating too and are good for groups. read more

I've gotten recommendations for Aab from a few friends and finally decided to give it a try. Luckily, I happened to go during Happy Hour (5-7pm Mon thru Thurs), so I was able to enjoy 50% appetizers. To start, the parking is somewhat limited with only street spots available. They have patio seating and the inside is pretty big, with additional high top chairs at the bar. Our server was very nice, and helpful with the menu. We got a selection of appetizers, and split an entree of chicken tikka masala. The appetizers were alright but all kind of tasted the same given the heavy breading. I was disappointed in the size of the chicken tikka masala for the price ($18). Most of the other entrees were also in that price range. On top of that, it was so creamy that it kind of drained out some of the flavor. I ordered a 3 spice level (out of 6) but should have gone higher. I did enjoy the garlic naan bread and it was plenty big for two of us to split. Parting thoughts -- I will probably check out a few other Indian restaurants before I come back. read more

I had heard so many good things about this place and after coming in, I get it! This North Indian restaurant does it right and reminds me that I need to eat Indian food more. The happy hour is great. Monday-Thursday 5-7 pm features amazing prices on beer, wine and cocktails, plus half off appetizers with purchase of an entree. I have never tried bhartha before but it is a roasted eggplant dish. Got with mushroom and it was savory and roasty and such a flavorful veg dish. That plus garlic naan is perfection. Got spicy level 4 out of 6 which was lovely and not too hot. Next time I'll go for a 5. Food: -mixed platter ($4 on happy hour) -samosas ($3.50 on happy hour) -bhartha mushroom (eggplant dish) -special chicken tikka masala (slightly smokier with the peppers and onions) -garlic naan Happy hour drinks: -aab-tini ($7 on hh but pass on this if you like spirit forward) -taj mahal lager 22 oz ($6 on hh) -house cab ($7 on hh) Leftovers were SO good the next day. Great service! Loved the garlic naan but the curries (chicken curry and chicken makhani) were okay. Felt like the chicken was dry but it was seasoned very well with the sauce. I tried the rice pudding desert and it just wasn't my favorite. Definitely think it's one of the better Indian restaurants in Columbus, but I haven't found a place I really enjoy yet. read more

Never heard about this place until today and thought we'd give it a try. We were a tad bit late for the buffet so we'll try that next time. My wife got the butter chicken and I got chicken curry and 2 pieces of garlic naan. Not only did it stuff us up, but it was delicious. I would have given it a 5 star, but the only flaw was we only got 1 rice to share. We're use to other places giving us 1 rice each order, but I guess it's different here. It did however take way too long for our order to be placed, but at least the food came out really quick once it was ordered. I'll try the buffet next time I'm here. read more

This was pretty solid Indian cuisine. You can do this. Order a Punjabi Lassi if you're not the driver. Or two. Yum. My wife had a special that I don't remember the name of. It was VERY tasty, though a bit spicier than she was expecting. I tried the veggie Jalfrezi. I'd never had Jalfrezi before. Have heard great things from friends who grew up in India, as in it was one of the things their moms made them when they were kids. It was colorful, oniony, spicy, and loud-tasting. It was superb. Get that. The store was attractive and the service was very good. We enjoyed our time there. Aab has to compete with a jillion other restaurants in Grandview. It competes well. Go there. read more

I would give a 4.5 if I could but doing this review for all of my times I've visited Aab! The past time I visited (where this photo was from) the food was fantastic! We always order hot spice level, and this time they actually made it a great heat level with nice flavor. I've ordered it to go before and asked for hot and it tasted like it had zero heat level to it and it was disappointing. I've also had the buffet which was pretty good but still lacking that heat level (which is to be expected from a buffet, I just prefer spicy Indian food). We also ordered the garlic naan bread which was AMAZING. So perfectly fluffy with a slight crisp to it, literal perfection. I'll probably stick to dining in and ordering entrees over the buffet for Aab so I can make sure the spice level is there, but will definitely be returning! read more

The food may not be the most authentic (not as spicy/hot as some Indian food), but for someone who cannot tolerate very spicy food, it was great. :) Service was good; they were quick to refill our water despite having many customers. I went to Aab with my mom about a month ago because we were craving Indian food! The parking was kind of tricky. There is a bank nearby that has a sign saying parking is only for the bank and then there is some street parking. We ended up parking in the street. The inside was really nice, it was more fancy than I was dressed for but it wasn't a big deal at all. Our waitress was really nice. When we ordered Samosas she gave us many Chutney options and explained each one to us. They were all good in different ways! For our entrees we got chicken tikka saag which I had never had before. It was good, but I wish I ordered it more spicy. We also got this dish that had a red sauce with fish in it. It was also good! I would go again and try their chicken tikka masala which is usually what I order. Overall it was a great experience! read more
