[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, wonderful variety, good for large-ish groups, I'm happy!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The "BEST" Indian food I've had in the area? Well, hmmmm, I'll need to do more "research" (woohooooo!!) to be sure... Check out their menu ahead of time if you're like me (indecisive, not 100% up on Indian "standards," and ALWAYS hungry!!) I decided to skip the usual dishes this time and go for the veg and non-veg appetizer samplers. Pretty good, no complaints, VERY share-able, but not really enough variety between the two to order both. I was secretly coveting my fellow diners' kormas, vindaloos, and assorted curries, all of which looked WONDERFUL. Will have to make a return visit to try more...!! Come hungry, leave happy... Parking might be tricky, but you'll find something, and it'll be worth it, both for your car AND your belly!! ;-)

This is our favorite and go to Indian spot. Always delivers greatness! We have yet to get a dish we haven't loved. My favorite biryani is here. Check it out!

Ordered carry out for lunch, time to pick up, walked in lady down the way asked how many I let her know I was picking up and she rolled her eyes at me pointed to the bar then walked behind bar asked my name grabbed a bag, I walked down to where she was so all she had to do was turn around and hand it to me. Instead she turned to the left and set it on the counter away from me then turned her back to me. No here you go, thank you, nothing. I took my bag and left. First time and last time. Haven't even had 1 bite yet

I have been trying to find a good Indian spot in the area & this place definitely hit the spot! I made it in time for dinner with some friends and we decided to order different things & try out some new dishes & we lovedddd all of it! The portion sizes were huge and we did have some leftovers so i would definitely suggest one dish & rice for a duo. The mango lassi was also amazing. I always order it when i get the chance and it did not disappoint. My only criticism is that it was served warm and I'm used to having it cold. The service was on point & our server had great recommendations and was quick to refill our drinks as well. Overall an amazing spot for Indian food !!

    When is the buffet?

I know they do a lunch buffet during the week. It's expensive for the offerings.

Does any know the buffet price?

If memory serves me it was $11.99.

You can cater the level of spice to what your palette enjoys. Mine is a level 7+. I decided to go with items I have never tried before which were both great. I went with the Beef Bori Kabob and Paneer Onion Kulcha Flatbread with a special request of extra spicy. The Paneer Onion was very spicy but tolerable. The Beef Kabob was spicy but to less degree. The kabob was also not a full meal so the flatbread was a great accompaniment. Since the others in my group got full plates, I was able to enjoy basmati rice since it was served in a large pot that was refillable. Dessert options are on a separate menu. I was able to get a pistachio sponge cake like dessert. Not too sweet with a hint of spice. Yum! Great recommendation by our server who was so helpful! Full bar service available. Indoor and Outdoor seating available. Wish it was a little warmer because I would love to sit outside. Tables are meant of large groups but it seems like management can make it happen if you call ahead. Only downside of this place was the parking was a bit hard. Best bet is to utilize the free street parking. Can't wait to come back and try new items.

My partner and I shared the chicken sandwich (my favorite), tandoori chicken spiral (his favorite), the mango rasmalai croissant, and the jaggery latte (which I loved, especially with the Ube cold foam on top). Everything came out reasonably quickly, and the presentation was lovely! Everything looked so delicious and inviting. The chicken sandwich was my favorite item, but for my partner, the flavor of the chicken wasn't coming through enough. Personally, I really enjoyed the desi flavors and the sweet and spicy combination. I'd definitely eat this sandwich again. The tandoori chicken croissant was my partner's favorite- he loved almost everything about it. For me, while very delicious, the croissant wasn't flaky enough. The sauce also tasted more like a tomato soup than a red pepper puree, which kept surprising me every bite (just a different flavor than I expected). The mango rasmalai croissant wasn't too sweet, which I liked. I do wish it had a little more of a rasmalai flavor in the cream - there's a rasmalai ball in the middle which is a lovely burst of flavor. I would have preferred that flavor to permeate. I'd come back if my schedule allows!

We were seated right away and surveyed the menu with a prodigious number of choices including robust tandoori offerings. I opted for the Mighty Shrimp Tandoor which may have been a bit overstated in terms of their girth or lack thereof. I chose 4 out of 5 on the hot scale and it was a full fledged 4 for someone who often opts for 4 or 5. So go low if heat is not your thing. My dining companion went with her favorite, Saag Paneer. Artfully presented, reported to be passible, not spectacular. Alas the rice ironically is where a notable shortcoming came together, literally. There were sticky clumps of rice that were not as warm as the rest and made us think perhaps we'd come too close to closing. With prices of $22 for the shrimp and $19 for the paneer one should hope these standard details are attended to even later in the evening. The servers were pleasant if a bit hesitant. So the good news was they were still open at 8:55 when the first couple places we tried were closing at 9. The food was serviceable but not one we will make a point of returning to.

The main Tandoori Grill location is up on Bethel Rd. This Pakistani restaurant is one of my favorites in town. So I was excited to hear that they were opening a pop-up location downtown on Capitol Square. And more than a little confused. Their announcement made it sound like they were opening in a convenice store. That couldn't be right. Could it? Yep. It is. When you walk in, they have a couple of chafing trays set up with the day's offerings. According to the friendly folks working at the store, some of the menu will vary from day to day while other dishes will be offered regularly. When I was there they had chicken tikka masala, chickpeas, grilled chicken, and ground chicken that was formed into long patties and then grilled. They're served with/over rice. Also on the menu were chicken samosa and salad. The chicken tikka masala and samosas were both delicious. I didn't give the final fifth star however because they weren't as good as when you get them from the full restaurant on Bethel. Which makes sense in light of the fact that they were cooked earlier in the day and being kept warm. So in summary, a great downtown lunch time addition. And if you do like it, visit the full service location. It's even better.

I went as soon as I could, and honestly, so should you! If you love Tandoori Grill on Bethel or haven't been there because it's too far away, this is the perfect opportunity to try its food during the lunch hour. Ideally, this would be a 3.5 star review, but I'm rounding it up because of the convenience factor. During my visit, I tried the samosa, chickpea curry, rice, and chicken seekh kebab. The seekh kebab was the star; perfectly spiced and amazingly tender. I've had so many disappointingly dry seekh kebabs, but this was was pure perfection. Next time, I'm just getting this with rice. The chickpeas and rice were good too. Loved the samosa, though it could be a tad less oily. But, heck, I chose to have fried food. My meal also came with a side salad with an Italian vinaigrette (odd choice). The salad is typically also served in the brick and mortar location and serves as a nice palate cleanser there. But since the operation in the convenience store is takeout only, getting a dressed salad, which is limp by the time I eat it, doesn't quite make sense to me. My meal cost $12, and I would've gladly paid a little less to forego the salad. Overall, a nice addition to the downtown lunch scene, which sadly lacks good Indian food. (Don't get me started on Indian Oven. Just no.) DISCLAIMER: copied over from my initial review for G&Z stores; this business was not yet added.

I visited for the first time in many years and found that most vendors have changed over the years. One familiar vendor is Flavors of India at the North Market. I had a delightful experience ordering some chicken curry along with some naan. I arrived and looked around at the options. There was a small wait for a Tuesday lunch, and I asked a many questions about the dishes. While there were meat or vegetarian entrees with rice or multiple sides, I chose to stick with the small chicken dish (8 oz) with a side of garlic naan. I figured that would complement another dish I tried from another vendor. The chicken curry dish was tasty and delicious as was the garlic naan (which certainly beat out any regular naan). The prices, however, were quite high. I enjoyed the food and would come back for other dishes or even an entree with sides in the future. Flavors of India was established in 1991 as one of the oldest merchants at the North Market. It is a family business that serves home-style Northern Indian cuisine made with freshly sourced ingredients each morning. They incorporate healthy herbs and spices (turmeric, coriander, ginger, and garlic) in each dish offering truly authentic flavors of India. There are also Vegan and Gluten-Free options available. The location is on the west side of the North Market along the wall. The hours at the North Market are Monday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday from 12 to 5 PM. I would assume that later during the lunch hour during the weekends (and weekdays) it is probably quite busy. You can find a bit more information on the North Market website detailing the Flavors of India restaurant: https://northmarket.org/merchant/flavors-of-india. I certainly would come back to eat there again!

It tasted like it was freezer burned, and it was clearly bought. Like, I'm trying not to be an asshole about it, but the reviews rating it 3 stars and saying "it's good"? No. It's insulting to how much BETTER Indian food can be! It is so disappointing!
