COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY
Carlos S.

UPDATE - Came in with friends for lunch today, Saturday, not realizing that all they serve for lunch on Saturdays, and maybe Sundays, is buffet. I don't like buffets, and this one isn't going to change my mind. Most of the food was lukewarm to cold and felt like it had been sitting there forever. Not good. No ice in the drink dispenser. Meh. They serve great dinners but this buffet left a lot to be desired.

In town for work and didn't want hotel food that night. They recommended this one to me and got the chicken Masala and garlic naan. The Masala was very good and perfect heat. It beats a lot of places back home. Their rice has carrots and peas and a touch of sugar I think. Really enjoyed it, the naan could have been a tad thicker but good as well. Will be back when I come back to town.

This place is located across the busy Easton Town Center. The food is pretty good and was getting quite busy and steady right when they opened for dinner at 430 PM. The service was decent and the staff was friendly. If you're in the mood for Indian food, I would recommend coming here.

CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA LAMB SAAGWALA

The dining area is small and very informal. I would be more inclined to order take out form this establishment. Tikka masala hot was a great spice for me! About a 5/6 on the heat scale. Slow burn to hit then goes away quick. Very nice. Lamb sagwala was tasty on across the board. The price was was fair, good value in my book. I would recommend this as a good Indian option.

Their lunch buffet was a good experience... The thing I like best about Cumin and Curry is that the lunch buffet gets you a chance to try different things. It is a great way to try different Indian foods without having to know what to order. I would recommend this experience to anybody. The interior of the restaurant is nice (nothing real fancy) and because it is a buffet, the service is not a real factor - they do get the need plates off the table in a timely manner.

VEGETABLE PAKORA

I tried this restaurant for dinner yesterday (2/11) after work on my current business trip. I was really very pleasantly surprised by the complimentary vegetable pakora, being from MA I am not accustomed to such customer friendly gestures from any Indian restaurant in MA. The service here is attentive and prompt too. Most importantly, the portions and the quality of the food is very good indeed! I found something worth coming back to Columbus, OH for

I had my first experience trying Indian cuisine, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Spicy Goat Biryani and Tandoori Chicken, and both dishes were absolutely fantastic.

Bread basket, Seprate Rice, CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA, chicken sagwala chicken (green dish)

This place was excellent! Chicken tikki masala was thick and flavorful, and the "bread basket" full of 3 types of naan was the perfect addition. If you're newer to Indian (like I am), they have a lunch buffet Saturdays and Sundays that would allow you to sample a variety and find your perfect dish! The restaurant does offer a bar, and the staff and environment were friendly and enjoyable. Definitely try them out!

LAMB SAAGWALA

We came here on a Sunday night and got seated right away. We ordered a beer and mango lassi. As well as the samosas, lamb saagwala, goat curry, and garlic naan. The saagwala has a more flavorful spinach flavor compared to saags from other places. 10/10 The garlic naan was extra garlicky. Which I love. 10/10 The rice has a little bit of green peas and carrots mixed in. The atmosphere was nice with booths and tables. The lighting was good. Think the dining area of Panera.

I've been ordering lots of takeout lately due to being sick over the holidays and this was one of my favorite recent orders. I loved the Bhartha and Coconut Curry, rice, and garlic naan. The portion sizes weren't huge for the price, but the flavors were all there. I will say that the rice came with chicken in it?! Indian food is typically very vegetarian-friendly, and thankfully I am not a vegetarian, but this seems like a huge misstep for the restaurant. I'm wondering if it was a mistake or if this is the typical process for them. It was delicious but definitely left me a little confused-- something to be aware of for anyone ordering from there in the future. I will definitely try this spot again next time I'm in the mood for Indian food, but not sure what the deal is with the chicken in the rice. Either way, thanks Cumin and Curry!

Lentil soup

This place was highly recommended by my husband, who likes to take his coworkers from India here whenever they visit. The inside of the restaurant was freezing, so we chose to sit on the patio. It was a good decision because we could see a gorgeous sunset, the weather was beautiful, and we felt so relaxed. I had the lentil soup and rice pudding and both were delicious. My husband and friends had the lamb curry and their dishes were spiced according to their levels they requested. I recommend this restaurant!

Chelsea S.

Good Indian spot in the Easton area. The Samosas were delicious. Nice selection of vegetarian options. Friendly staff. Generous portions. Entrees come with rice which is nice as some Indian restaurants I frequent require you to order the rice separately. I would go here again when I'm back in the area.

LAMB BIRIYANI
Destiny F.

One of the most authentic Indian restaurants in Columbus! The food was amazing, we got lamb biryani, saag paneer, chicken korma and lamb korma with onion kulcha! can't wait to come back! And the service was great, very quick and attentive!

It's truly special when a server makes the effort to get to know everyone at the table, make jokes and join in on the laughs. I was visiting Columbus for the weekend, and throughout the rest of my stay after dinner, I can say this meal was a highlight! The atmosphere was beautiful, and we were seated right away! The cocktails were amazing, I had a strawberry fields. Now as for the short ribs, they melted in my mouth! They paired perfectly with the risotto, truly a great plate of food that felt like home! I have already recommended this place to friends visiting Columbus soon!

We visited yesterday around 3 PM after seeing the new Mario movie. We didn't have a reservation, but seating wasn't an issue at that time. As always, the restaurant was clean, lively, and welcoming. The staff was very kind, and our waitress was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered many of our usual favorites, but my entrée--the braised short rib--was not quite up to the standard I've come to expect. While the meat itself was still tender, moist, and flavorful, the risotto was disappointing. It lacked its usual creamy texture and was noticeably too thick. Additionally, the dish was served with only carrots as the root vegetable, whereas in the past it has included a variety of vegetables that really elevated the overall flavor and presentation. I was especially disappointed because this was actually the first time I remembered to take a photo of my meal before digging in. I came in fully intending to finally leave a glowing five-star review based on all of our previous great experiences--but unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that expectation. This was surprising, especially given how consistently great this dish--and the restaurant overall--has been during our previous visits. We've dined here at least five times this year and even celebrated our son's third birthday here, so this experience felt out of character. One difference worth noting is that we typically visit for dinner, and this was our first time coming during the afternoon. It's possible there may be differences in the kitchen or service during that time. We do plan to return, as we're hoping this was just an off day. This place has earned a lot of goodwill from us over time, but we wanted to share this experience in case it's helpful for others.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Another disappointing part of the service was we were working on a Prix Fix menu but at no point did they ask if we wanted anything additional which I did. The food and teas had a mixed review amongst my group. My highlights were the deviled egg tea sandwich, chicken salad tea sandwich, and blueberry lemon scone. I'm writing this…read morereview specifically because of the waiter we had, he was also covering the bar, and he was working incredibly hard. I honestly felt bad for him. He was doing everything he could to take care of us while also managing a full bar, which had to be at least 15 people deep at times. That's not fair to him, and it ultimately impacts the guests as well. To be clear, this is not a complaint about him, quite the opposite. He was outstanding. At one point, I literally saw him running to keep up with everything. He remained kind, attentive, and positive the entire time, despite being clearly overworked. Unfortunately, I also noticed several other staff members standing around near the prep area chatting instead of helping, which made the situation even more frustrating to watch. We experienced delays with our food, and it was noticeable that other tables were being served ahead of us simply because our waiter was tied up making drinks at the bar. Even something as simple as running out our appetizer wasn't supported by the team--he had to step away and do it himself. That's a breakdown in teamwork, not a reflection of his effort. The food itself was good, but the staffing and support structure need attention. Asking one person to handle both the bar and multiple tables, especially when they're spread out, is setting them up to struggle. If we are seated in a situation like that again, we would likely choose to leave. That said, I truly want to emphasize how hard this individual worked. He did everything right, and it showed. Management should take note, he's the kind of employee you want representing your business.
