A comfortable restaurant in a side strip to the massive Easton shopping district. Adequate parking. Hadn't been here in years and missed the lunch buffet they now only have weekends. Very few patrons there and very small but excellent staff and service. They have an extensive menu and everything we had was excellent! We splurged a bit so it was bit over $50 for the 2 of us. As usual, I sought out some Indian and n my recent trip to Columbus, but his time via Uber Eats. The delivery was quick, and vibe I was getting from the photos was that this place is cleaner and more vibrant than some other local joints. The delivery driver was quick and courteous. Immediately I could smell the tikka, and I knew it would be good. The tikka, which I ordered as "hot" was creamy but sweet which was slightly off putting. In town for work and didn't want hotel food that night. They recommended this one to me and got the chicken Masala and garlic naan. The Masala was very good and perfect heat. It beats a lot of places back home. Their rice has carrots and peas and a touch of sugar I think. Really enjoyed it, the naan could have been a tad thicker but good as well. The dining area is small and very informal. I would be more inclined to order take out form this establishment. Tikka masala hot was a great spice for me! About a 5/6 on the heat scale. I've been ordering lots of takeout lately due to being sick over the holidays and this was one of my favorite recent orders. I loved the Bhartha and Coconut Curry, rice, and garlic naan. The portion sizes weren't huge for the price, but the flavors were all there. I will say that the rice came with chicken in it?! Indian food is typically very vegetarian-friendly, and thankfully I am not a vegetarian, but this seems like a huge misstep for the restaurant. I'm wondering if it was a mistake or if this is the typical process for them. It was delicious but definitely left me a little confused-- something to be aware of for anyone ordering from there in the future. I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally ordered for delivery because they were running a "buy one get one" promo. So happy I did! Got the chicken tikka masala, veggie biryani, veggie pakoras, and onion kulcha. Big flavors, generous portions, and an added plus of more eco-friendly takeout containers (not much plastic). I loved the chicken tikka and the biryani (which comes with a side of creamy, tangy raita- mmm!). The only thing that wasn't for me was the onion kulcha. I love onions and have been known to snack on pickled onions, but the kulcha was just way too onion-forward for me. The moisture from the onions also turned the bread into a soggy mush, making it impossible to dip into the sauce as one does with a tandoori bread. Next time I'll go with garlic naan. This was GREAT. Wife and I didn't get our Hello Fresh order - they delivered our box to Someone Else :/ so this was our happy alternative. And soooo glad we came. Easy to find across from Lowe's at Easton. Very attractive, clean store, which has to be so given the hoity-toity location. Service was good, if a skosh too far on the leaving-us-alone side. The menu was smaller than a lot of Indian places, but not at all lacking good choices. At least at dinner time, order from the paper menu, not from the one posted above the cash register when you come in. My wife got the lamb korma. GET THAT. It's savory and thick and dang tasty, with a very nice sweet (but not too) tone that's different from kormas at other restaurants, yet seriously delicious. The lamb was tender and danced very well with the sauce. The medium spice level was comfortable for her, tingly but not obnoxious. I thought the spice level fit the slightly sweet meal perfectly. I got baingan bharta, a wonderful vegetarian eggplant dish. GET THAT. It was smoky and savory. The hot level spice I ordered fit the sauce; it was perfect to me but WAY too hot for my wife. The rice was perfectly done. The garlic naan was overly buttered - a good thing, imho - and very tasty without a hint of burnt flavor I find sometimes in other restaurants. There is a wide, if general, selection of whiskies and similar, nearly all at $9 a shot. I like Bushmill's with Indian food; seems appropriate (if colonial); the sweetness goes well with high-heat spice. The beer selection is nearly all American and Indian lagers - ew. We didn't get dessert here, but I saw a mango lassi advancing toward another table. Mmmm. This place is as good as Aab, and many of the names of the dishes are similar, but the recipes must owe to someone else's mom (or maybe a different region). The flavors are familiar, but different. The staff was very kind and quick throughout the time we were there and everything seemed clean. However, the food here was just ok. It was by no means bad, but I have certainly had better Indian food in the Columbus area. The appetizers were much better than our entrees. We had the gobi manchurian which was delicious. After this I was very excited for my entree which was the tandoori chicken. The chicken tasted a little bit bland and was not as good as I had been expecting it to be. All other times it is a la carte. We ordered vegetable pakora for an appetizer. The portion was huge and came with 2 dipping sauces- mint and another with a slight kick. Both were tasty with the crispy fried veggies. We ordered aloo saag (one of my favs), it came with bowl of rice and chicken biryani. Food was yummy but had filled up on appetizers so we brought home enough for one or two more meals. We also ordered a bread basket- be sure to try the onion mulch's and garlic naan. My only disappointment was the masala chai tea. They make it in house. It was goopy and had NO flavor. I sent it back. The staff was attentive even after the place started to fill up. Buffet is good & only being offered on weekends. Buffet ends at 2:30pm sharp & they will kick you out - politely. One thing to note: their chicken tika masala HAVE NUTS in it. My son who loves tika masala but have nut allergy had quite a reaction after a bite of chicken tika masala. There was no sign / warning anywhere. Epipen was administered at the parking lot, ambulance was called. We came here on a Friday evening. The service is slow but courteous. We each got the salted lassi, which was good but came with too much ice. For dinner, we shared the Bhindi (okra), Sag paneer, and Rogan Josh with a basket of naan. The Bhindi was amazing -- nicely sautéed and spiced, and not at all soggy like in many other places. The lamb Rogan Josh was very good, good amount of lamb, which was quite tender. It was a little rich, but good nonetheless. The sag paneer (spinach in cream sauce with Indian cheese), was below average. The basket of naan was a hit and miss -- the regular naan was decent, some others not so much. Overall, a decent outing. Where do I begin? First and foremost the service is absolutely wonderful! The first feeling you get is being welcomed followed by the incredible savory aroma as you walk in. There are so many choices it is hard to decide but from my travels in the UK where I first had my first Indian food experience i ordered Chicken Jalfrezi at a 2 spice level which was perfect for me to feel a very mild heat yet enjoy the flavorful curry and overall dish. We ordered the "bread basket "because it came with a selection of naan breads. Without or doubt one of the absolute best Indian restaurants I have been to. My mother and I had dinner here while in Columbus. We were seated quickly and the menu had a wide variety of options for all tastes. We started with Chili Paneer appetizer. It had a lovely balance of heat and sweet with the paneer cooked well- not too hard and not falling apart either. Our 2 entrees were Lamb Korma and Paneer Tawa Masala. Both were generous portions and served with plenty of rice. I asked for mine spicy and it wasn't really (but I'm used to this- with my pale skin and hair, I rarely get things actually made spicy- they assume I don't really want it that way!) We also had the Naan bread basket that contained regular naan, as well as garlic, and onion naan. It was quite large with a full bread of each. They were very tasty. There was a delay in getting to go boxes and ordering dessert. It seems that the server was pulled somewhere else and we finally had to flag down a different staff member to get help.
