We stopped by Roma 23 yesterday for lunch, surprisingly for a Saturday they weren't busy when we arrived around 2:30pm. They have a nice patio and a full bar, with an open kitchen where you can see the steaming plates being picked up. The decor is super cute and they played great music! I would definitely come hang here on a Friday night. We're were seated immediately and our server came right now. I picked the heaven pizza and my partner got the Roma style square pizza with fresh mozzarella slices, tomatoes and jalapeño. We both ordered size salads and for $5 they were pretty big! Thy don't come with anything other than cheese (parm) and croutons but you can add a protein. I would've liked some onion, tomato, etc but it was fresh and still tasty! Our pizza came out quickly and I must say the heaven pizza is delicious! The fig spread is sweet and the arugula adds a nice tart balance. The Burrata is good but beware, coupled with the fig spread it can make the pizza a little soggy. But the crust!!! Omg so yummy. It's chewy and perfectly charred. So tasty! Overall we had a great experience, staff was great (all the waitresses are GORGEOUS and so nice) and the bathroom even has the perfect LED selfie mirror. We will definitely be back. read more

The inside of the restaurant is very modern. Looks like an across between a sports bar and a hip little place to get some great Italian food. We tried the cauliflower crust 10 inch pizza with pepperoni and sausage, the Caesar salad, wings in a split order between mango habanero and Buffalo flavored. The wings were big and plump with great flavor in both the flavors we tried. The Caesar salad was awesome with a very good dressing, the pizza with the cauliflower crust was amazing and the crust was flavorful. The ranch dressing is homemade and probably the best I have had. It has enough of a casual atmosphere where you feel like you can sit have a drink watch the game on one of the many screens and enjoy one of their great craft cocktails or in the alternative come here for us relatively romantic date. They've done well to decorate the interior to make you feel classy yet casual. We had the french fries the wings and the beef raviolis they were great. Found this spot while visiting the area. We sat quickly at the bar where we were greeted quickly. We decided to order the fried calamari and buffalo wings (picture after we already ate half). The serving sizes were incredible! Two hungry eaters and we still had leftover. Then for the main courses. My husband loves BBQ pizza and they were so kind to make him his own custom pizza with BBQ as the sauce. He LOVED it. My ajillo shrimp pasta was beautiful and delicious. I hope their pizzas are good. First time here, for father's day brunch, and well, it sucked. Steak and eggs should have been advertised as gristle and eggs, and flavorless gristle at that. Also no access to regular menu during brunch, which waa really disappointing. Had to use a knife to stir my coffee and refills were hard to come by.. Really fantastic! I love coming here with friends and family. When I first got introduced to it I tried the Heaven pizza for the first time and it's a very unique blend of flavors and it's really worth a try. The other more traditional pizzas like the supreme, chicken pesto and Bianca are also great choices. The service really stands out and Vanessa and Mariel have been my servers and they are both really kind and friendly, always attentive and making sure me and my group have what they need. The mozzarella sticks were good but, the marinara sauce was cold and lacked seasoning, it tasted like it came out of a can (a little rosemary or oregano would go a long way). This place was amazing! The fettuccini Alfredo was spot on, as well the ravioli and pizza. Service was quick and our waitress was really nice and fast as well. The place was well lit and they also had small table lamps for the tables as well. First time I didn't have to add anything to my meal bad far as salt wise, and that's saying a lot from me because I usually add without even tasting the food b/c I know it'll need some. A lot to like here but a really uneven experience. The waitress was great. She had great recommendations and was quick with my order and refills. On her recommendation, I ordered the Ajillo Shrimp Pasta. The shrimp were fat and juicy. There was a lot of shrimp too. It was a large portion size. The pasta was light and tasted fresh. It was SUPER nice. The buttered toast was better than buttered toast should be. The waitress warned me about the spice level of the pasta but honestly the heat was perfect. The sauce that the pasta was in was really salty. It happens sometimes. I'm kind of a cannoli snob but she said the shell was made in-house so I ordered 2 to go. I asked for the regular cannoli and not the blueberry flavored cannoli. I received a blueberry flavored cannoli anyway. I was only going to eat one cannoli and give the other away, so not a big deal. The cannoli shell might be the best Arizona has to offer. It was very nice. The filling was great too. Not too sweet. I did find a couple of hairs in my cannoli. Didn't love that. The outside of this place looks pretty cool with the ocotillo wands. The inside is more of a sports bar vibe with loud music and big tvs. I'd try it again. This has been one of our spots for wood fire pizza but something was off this time around. I really hope they didn't change management or cooks. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it's been amazing but this time we decided to do a custom pizza. Did not have any flavor whatsoever, it reminded us of pizza you order from a gas station. We will stick to a specialty pizza next time. We also tried their garlic shrimp pasta, also no flavor.
