Went on a Tuesday (Sep3) at 4pm. Lots of donuts, no tray completely empty, lots of employees, and the only customers ahead of me were one in line and two already at the counters. I was up in less than 5 minutes. I had what seemed to be a newer cashier with a more experienced guy at his elbow. I liked that. I hate when a cashier has to stop and wait for help because they left him alone too early. I had never been there before, so I had some donut questions. All were answered with smiles. Very good customer service. My usual is a Blueberry Crumble at Missy's Donuts on the Eastside (it is life changing) and I never had a Cronut, let alone a Custard Cronut, so I got one of each. The Blueberry Crumble was good, BUT the one at Missy's is bigger, has more crumb and icing on it and is just better. I knew it would be hard to beat, so no shock there. I reluctantly gave the Custard Cronut to my daughter who is crazy for anything with Custard or Cream in it. I didn't have to ask how it was, it got evaporated without the usual last bite still on the plate. She said the custard was better than Crispy Crème. Prices were least expensive for cake donuts, like the Blueberry Crumble, so it was only $1.60. Meanwhile, the Custard Cronut was the most expensive donut at $5! I need to try their 3x bigger Jumbo Donut at $4.85. I'll bring it as desert next time I need to bring something depending on how big it is. The order ahead Giant Donut at Master's (used to be $10, not sure now) is impressively huge and good looking with chocolate icing and sprinkles on top, and with a better tasting donut mixture than the regular donuts there, super good, but it is too big unless you have a large group. I noticed Rolling Pin has a comparable 8" donut, for $13, that they call the Birthday Special, but it may be too big as well. I will definitely be back. I'd like to get the Jumbo donut to check the size, and try a Cronut finally! read more

Was at the dollar tree and my daughter wanted a glaze donut so we went into this establishment. And Iam SO happy we did. The young lady at the counter was super nice. Told her it was our first time in and she was so sweet and I got my daughter a donut (she said it was the best she's ever had) and a chocolate milk. The sweet girl even asked me if I wanted something or if I liked chocolate. And Gave me a chocolate cake donut and said here for mama and that truly made my day. She wanted me to eat to and of course try their donuts and it was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you Rolling Pins. read more

Jelly donut was bitter. Customer service could use improvement. Will stick with the other mom and pop donut shop by Vons.

Homer said it best... MMM, DONUTS! I'm a sucker for filling, so the custard donut is my GoTo. Don't do yourself wrong by passing this up! Really great place if you're a donut fiend like I am. :^) read more

What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Why open the doors to the public if you're not ready for customer demand? I went to the new Rolling Pin in Ventura today 8/30 at 10:15am. The store was clean and there was a line of about 10 families. Now hear this... ONLY 4 trays of donuts. Chocolate cake with peanuts, Chocolate cake with Coconut, regular glazed and one other. Really????? That's it? I was sent here by my work to purchase 2 dozens for our office and walked out with nothing. TERRIBLE. read more

They are the best late night sweet food stop! I love their accesible service and simple ambiance.

Terrible customer service by the young woman behind counter. I won't be back. Food and ambiance is always a plus but the experience I had by this employee of Rolling Pin is disappointing and disrespectful. read more

Many people behind the counter but the slowest service I have ever seen in a donut shop.

Lots of variety to choose from. The donuts we got were a little greasy, it was later at night so unsure if that's the reason.

best donuts, great service & super clean store. My toddler loved the donut and coffee statues. Definitely coming back!

What a nice experience at the Ventura Rolling Pins. The selection was large and each donut we had were fresh and delicious. The donuts weren't oily and weren't overly sweet. We sampled different styles from traditional, filled, and old fashioned. We will definitely be returning for special treats. read more

So great!!! The donuts are really fresh and tasty! They also have really great coffee! Took my 94 year old dad in and they were really great he wanted to taste them and they have a tray of donuts to taste. He had a good time. Like a kid in a candy store. The place e is like a big 50s diner and would be fun for kids and seniors! The staff is super friendly and patient. read more

Once introduced to the Camarillo rolling pin, had to try the Ventura one. Was so excited to see it in Ventura It has clearly lived up to the Camarillo name so glad they're open now Favorite is apple fritters can't turn them down Took a dozen to my card group and they loved them and we're glad to hear it was now in Ventura read more

No way I just bit into this. Your employees need to start wearing hats or hairnets. It wasn't even on top of the donut it was baked inside. Nasty af read more

Cute place and pretty spacious inside but that doesn't make up for the horrible experience I had today and I definitely will not be going back here. I Went there around 1 today and there were not a lot of donuts left to even pick from. If you know you were going to be opened until midnight you should've made sure you had a variety of donuts throughout the whole day. You definitely lost a lot of business because of that. Aside from that, waiting 15 minutes for 1 churro when the place wasn't even busy is ridiculous and not once did they even apologize for the wait. P.S. the churro was hard! Jack in the box has better churros! read more

It's a clean and neat shop. The cartoon characters are fun to take pics with and the employees are very nice and friendly. I just wasn't impressed with the donuts not worth the $$...‍ read more

Good donuts, nice and warm when I got them. Friendly people working there. The inside is nicely decorated, I'll be there more often

best donuts i have ever had in my life, never disappoints, and their hours are spectacular

Loving the new location. The design is so colorful and retro. So much bigger than the camarillo spot. I ordered a maple bar and an old fashioned around 2:30pm. Lots of choices for donuts. Service was fast and cashier was nice. read more

Amazing donuts. Nayomi was super friendly. I've been a few times and staff is always friendly. Keep it up

Best donuts in the area hands down, not super sweet like all the other donut shops. The service is as fast as they can be (the lady in front of me ordered 4 dozen, and was super picky, she gets zero stars). When it's busy and you want super fast service and crappy donuts, go somewhere else. Great donuts even the day after purchase, you can't say that about any other donut shop. Get some! read more

Fresh and delicious donuts! The service was friendly and prices are affordable (no frills). My only request is that they have more of a selection of donuts to choose from. Will be back! read more

We went yesterday afternoon and the only thing they had was apple fritters. Not sure if they were short staffed but don't think they were prepared. We were anxiously awaiting this location and were disappointed in our first visit here. read more

I placed an online pickup order for a coworker, and Alexis was so helpful getting me the assistance I needed with the incorrect online order and other logistical issues. I was having issues getting in contact with the Camarillo location, and Alexis made sure that management personally sent my contact info to the other location to get me in contact with them to get my order fixed. Thank you!!!!!!! read more

great customer service. Great looking doughnuts and taste great too. Awesome local spot if you're looking for a morning pick me up

Well...I just paid $5 for a burnt cronut. Looks they tried to cover it up with extra sugar. I'm sad.

The donuts are OK not great but the service was horrible line 8 people deep one guy trying to help him cashers in break two other young people taking pictures with their phones who work there when I suggested they help the poor guy at the register said oh no, we don't do that Then find to learn from another store really sad example of Service read more

Not what they used to be. Someone seems to have taken over and ruined what was once great. The donuts are no longer crispy and light. They are larger, greasier, denser, and sweeter with icing caked on top. Taking everything to 11 isn't always the answer. The glaze and oil meld to make a matte finish epic mess. Take me back the old Camarillo location of 5 years ago when the donuts were always fresh and light. Like so many things these days they "look" good for the social media but they taste like sh. read more

Thanks for adding a Ventura location! Now we don't have to go out to Camarillo and find you are sold out! And for good reason, best donuts in Ventura County!Apple fritters with lots of apple! Raspberry jelly donuts filled with real raspberry jelly! What a concept! Bit of a wait, but well worth it! Open evenings too! Don't just sit there, go now! read more

Finally a "Voodoo Donuts" class donut shop in Ventura with plenty of seating, longer hours and affordable coffee!

Friendly service, great donuts, beautiful inside BUT It smelled of an old gas station bathroom. It might have been the floor cleaner ????

The ladies working there are a delight. Very helpful and courteous. The donut I had was just okay, nothing great and the coffee was horrible. It tasted like it was burnt and had been in the pot way too long. I was surprised when I walked in a saw this very large area with only a few tables and nothing to break up the boredom of the space. A few plants and possibly some table and chairs that don't belong on a patio would be a huge help. Will I come back or recommend this place? Probably not to both. read more

This donut shop is definitely in a great location! I stopped in this morning (09/06/24) around 9:30am. When I walked in, there were 10 individuals in line. I went to the end of the line and started checking out the inside of the facility. It is clean, bright, cutely decorated and very roomy for a donut shop. Their donut cases were all fully stocked with a plethora of amazing looking donuts, cinnamon rolls and croissants. There were ONLY two young ladies assisting the patrons. I stood in line for at least 15 minutes before it was my turn. When I looked back at the line, it had grown to about 20-25 people. I mentioned to the young lady, who was very sweet and pleasant, that both her and the other employee must be stressed being the only two working the counter. She mentioned they were short staffed but, she maintained the positive attitude with a smile on her face...GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! About the donut I bought: I am a "jelly filled" donut snob and always looking for a donut shop that makes the best jelly filled donut. The only donut shop I have found that makes the BEST jelly donuts in Ventura County is Citrus Donuts off of Wells Rd. I was hoping that Rolling Pin Donuts would be just as good. Unfortunately and very interestingly, it was mostly donut and hardly any jelly at all, which was so disappointing! The jelly should be plentiful in these types of donuts and when you bite into it, it should be spilling out. I am hoping management sees this review and 1) gets those ladies some help so they do not quit, 2) gets the lead or manager themself out to help when they are short staffed...this goes a long way with your staff and patrons, 3) Fill those jelly donuts up like they should be (perhaps visit Citrus Donuts to see how they should be made). Ha....Such a long review for one lonely donut that hardly had any jelly. But that's how I roll. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. read more

First time in we loved the crullers with cream, went back, not available, went back again still not available. "Come back in a few hours we will have them", came back still not available, but "will in 10 minutes have non cream filled ones". They said they sell out fast, so my question why not make more? Maybe they have them in Camarillo? But this store doesn't seem to care about making things customers want or buy a lot of, since they sell out fast. A big disappointment this store. read more

I didn't see any cake-style doughnuts, some interesting styles but these doughnuts are expensive! Staff needs better training to move the line along...staff, you need to remember what the customer told you...if you can't remember 1 or 2 items in succession then don't expect a tip, I get irritated when you ask the same question 3 times because you can't remember one thing. read more
