I love smashburgers and I was excited to find another eatery near my work as restaurants are pretty limited on this side of town. They were a little behind schedule opening but went ahead and took my order shortly after 12. At that point there were a handful of other people waiting and I was the first to put my order through. I opted for the double smash burger without pickles and the cheese sauce on the side. The lady who took my order was very friendly and a few minutes after ordering, handed me one of those buzzers that will go off when my order is ready. She let me know it would be a little bit because of the fries...I had no issue with that, however, it was NOT "a little bit." It was THIRTY SEVEN minutes from the time I paid to when my order was ready. Almost my entire lunch break was gone by the time I got back to work. I feel it was wrong not to tell me up front before I paid that it was going to be over half an hour wait. There also wasn't really much acknowledgement of how long the wait was when I picked up my order. I would have gone somewhere else had I known that it would be such a long wait. Once I finally got back to work to eat my food, I definitely enjoyed the burger. The grilled onions were a nice touch and it was flavorful. I found myself craving a nice piece of crisp lettuce though...it would have made it much better. The fries unfortunately, were horrible. They were so overly fried and greasy I had two and threw out the rest. I have never done that before and the fact that I waited 37 minutes for those fries made it sting even more. It also wasn't cheap at $18 for the burger and fries. I have never had french fries before with that kind of fried texture...it was very strange to me. I would come back for the smash burger if they made it an option to order without the fries. Maybe some people like their fries like this but I just couldn't stomach them.
