Lunchbox with bulgogi.
Mel B.

I decided to celebrate my Friday the best way I know how, a delicious food truck lunch! Rolling Cow was a solid contribution to my Friday partay. Rolling Cow has the ever so popular style of choose your style, choose your protein, etc I went with the lunchbox ($11) which is rice, your meat, and your choice of salad or coleslaw. I chose bulgogi with salad. My food was done quickly and I was in shock at how heavy it was! I took it back to my desk and was truly amazed with the amount of food in my box! I am telling you, I could have eaten it for lunch for three days! The bolgogi was perfect. Delicious flavor. Huge portion. I could not stop eating it. I started taking some bites of the salad with my beef and found it to be tasty as well! In the future I will probably opt to pay the $1 for the egg on top. After I finished the salad portion and going HAM on the bulgogi, I had to throw in the towel. My fiance will appreciate the massive portion of leftovers, I am sure! I would definitely recommend Rolling Cow. A little pricey, but the amount of food you get makes it worth it.

Food trucks are one of the most interesting things to me when it comes to food. Each food truck is unique in its own different way. So my coworkers and I always go out and try to find the best one! Today we decided to go to rolling cow after we saw their portion size. Now initial perk about rolling cow the meat is cooked to order and you get a lot of it. Draw back it takes forever (30-40minutes)... So I decided to get a lunch box which is meat on top of rice and you can get a side or salad or cole slaw. I then got a bunch of extra stuff! I got the half and half option since I wanted to try both meats. I got the bulgogi (thinly sliced ribeye marinated to perfection) and samgyupsal (sweet and savory pork belly with mild spice). Then, I got an egg and kimchi. However, I asked if they could fry my kimchi and they said we sure can which got me excited. However all that excitement eventually died since it took about 35minutes after I ordered to get my food. Working in dc normally people get 30-60minutes for lunch. So I wished they had let me known a rough estimate of how long it will take for the food beside "we will cook your protein next" Since I waited so long the cashier gave me a free drink and another side of kimchi which was very nice of him. My food looked amazing! I got so much meat, rice, and the extra eggs were definitely worth, since you get two eggs. After getting back to my office I then began to try the food. The bulgogi was well marinated. Same with the pork, however what bothered me was the small pieces of cartilage in the samgyupsal was still there. Since the pork was finely sliced it was hard to see so I ended up biting it a lot which was very unpleasant. The eggs I got it sunny side up and the creaminess took the dish to new levels. The cooked kimchi was nice as well. The coleslaw kind of got lost in the dish for me, maybe since the food was so seasoned a more tangy coleslaw would have made it a more well balanced dish. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food trucks because this food truck has amazing food and great customer service! Only thing I would take caution of is the wait time. Ask before you order In case the wait time exceeds your overall lunch period.

Amazing food truck!!! Even more amazing that they accept Gworld for GWU students. Their menu is concise and straight to the point. They offer 3 meats. Beef, chicken, and pork. They also offer 3 ways of getting the meat. 1. Wrap or sub 2. Lunchbox served with rice and salad 3. Salad with meat on top I personally enjoy the bulgogi (beef) and the pork Belly mixed with a fried egg. Getting two meals ad well as a fried egg is a dollar extra each. The coleslaw is amazing as well. It isn't too much mayo in it which makes it a nice and light side. This food truck offers some of the bet bulgogi in the area! The owner is very pleasant as well. He's sure to address you by your name after swiping your card. It's the little things that count when it comes to businesses that can make them stand out. You can definitely tell that he values his customers.

Rolling cow, Please roll on over to St. Louis & park that food truck here permanently! My husband & I were hungry after a morning exploring all the D.C. Landmarks. We hopped off the closest metro & beelined it to check out the gwu lunch food trucks. The block had a dozen or so food trucks, but I had Rolling Cow already in mind. We ordered the bulgogi lunchbox & pork Ssam (rice wrap). Both were phenomenal, packed w/ meat & flavor. Follow them on twitter & stalk them if you're in the D.C. area. Bomb food!

The food is really good and it is super authentic. What I would recommend is getting the chicken rice plate and get it with side of salad. You can get the fried egg on top if you want. There is one person taking the order and one person who is grilling the meat, so the average wait time is about 5-10 minutes for your order. Because they grill different meat each time, so they often do all the chicken order, then the pork order then the beef order etc. I would not recommend getting the side items such as kimchi because the portion is kinda big. I wish they could just give it when you order. Also if you want something spicy, get the chef spicy sauce- its like a mixture of hot sauce and gojuchang It is bit expensive, but it is worth it based on the portion and the deliciousness.

I went to Rolling Cow after visiting The World Bank group. I chose there after reading all the feedback from yelp and since they are food truck, they move around and i could find them only after making a phone call to find out where they were. They were right outside of marvin center. (If u follow their tweeter, they make announcements everyday though) The menus were simple. We were two people and were very hungry. Ordered beef and pork. Alex the chef was amazing and so is his biz partner. (Didn't ask his name :() Very friendly and kind enough to offer us samples of the meat Alex was cooking. Went to marvin center food court to eat our food cuz it was really cold outside. Opened the lunch box and they were really amazing!!! Pork is little spicy but at the same time sweet and juicy. Beef was perfectly marinated and was also really good. We were very satisfied with both the quality and quantity. Much better than food from marvin center. Will surely come back. (One picture is from Roll Play from Tysons corner. Can't figure out how to remove)

Recently I noticed this truck rolling their way into GW campus. Simply the best Korean food I've tried in DC. The Food is cooked at the time of your order so you can taste the freshness. I'm very picky about my Korean food considering living there for 11 years especially with my bul go gi. The serving size is very generous so if you get their lunch box make sure to cancel your dinner plans. Check these guys out, you won't be disappointed!

Was wandering around Georgetown today and happened upon a row of food trucks . The Rolling Cow looked the most interesting. After asking some questions, GS and I each tried the Saam and it was so yummy! They have several options of meat and veg. I got the sweet + spicy pork belly, asian veg, and rice wrapped in lettuce and rice paper (they also have bulgogi or chicken with coleslaw as veg). Besides the Saam they also have the lunch box option or the hoagie as vessels for the same options of meat and veg. Each option is $10-11. The service was really great. Thanks for the delicious meal and a free drink :)

Dumplings: I love all the options they have, but weirdly the impossible meat one is probably my favorite (which is insane!) Broccolini: Really good tempura veggies. Dont forget the sauce at the bottom for dipping! Panchan: The kimchi is one of the best I've ever had. Cucumbers are quite good and the lotus root is exceptional. Dessert - Doughnuts: I wish the donuts were just the tad bit sweet, but the jelly on the bottom makes it all worthwhile. The pistachio gelato really brings it all together. Coffee cheesecake: Excellent! Lots of fresh fruits and I enjoyed more it with every bite. The service is always excellent and Anju is one of my favorite restaurants in DC!

I made RSVP for this Korean restaurant on a Sunday evening...and it was bustling!…read more Despite RSVP for the main room, we got seated in an extended part of the room (more like an indoor patio?)...so frankly, the ambiance was a bit off for me. So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.
