    Pork Belly and Galbi

Stopped in for a quick bite at this Korean BBQ spot, and the bar team delivered great service--attentive, friendly, and running a tight ship even during the dinner rush. While I didn't get the full tableside grilling experience (the food was cooked for us, which took a little wind out of the sails), the flavors still over-performed. The GALBI (first choice) and Pork belly (underwhelmed) were tender, the seasoning hit that sweet spot of bold-but-balanced, and every dish showcased thoughtful execution. Must get reservations are a must--this place runs at full capacity like it's standard operating procedure and due to limited cooking tables. Overall, a tasty and well-run operation with strong culinary upside. I'll be back for the full BBQ experience next time.

I've been coming to this location for years and the food is always delicious, and the servers were always so attentive. if you want to try drinks soju is always a great option to share with others but I enjoy the watermelon paradise, and the lychee martinis. Not in the pictures but worth a try! They do offer happy hour from 4-7pm if you work in the area. For foods off the grill my personal favorite is the marinated chicken, bulgogi burger, corn cheese and Mandu beef dumplings. they have 3 all you can eat options even a halal certified option, but my favorite means are the bulgogi, beef briskets and beef steak! all the other options are worth trying but I'm not a big seafood person, so my opinion is biased. they also have a so-maek tower, which is 20$ off on Wednesdays! deff worth checking out with a group of friends

There is not a lot of kbbq in DC, but this place is well accessible and along the great neighborhood of restaurants in the Shaw area. I would see that they really adapted kbbq to fit DC palettes because their banchan has the staple dishes like nappa cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and soybean sprout salads, but then it also has shredded pickled dikon and a beet salad. While you wouldn't typically see that, I like that it makes this place distinct and palettable to just about anyone who wants to give kbbq a try. For example, where saam is an expected side dish upon table set up, here, its available upon request. We found some cuts of meat to be tougher than others. To mitigate that, thats why its classic to expect cuts labeled as "brisket" to be thinly sliced (sometimes even in rolls), however their cuts are a bit thicker side, but that's what scissors are for. It makes for a more generous bite of protein (but longer cook time). We found the pork belly to be on the fattier side, but their spicy marinated pork is a solid choice. Highly recommend to order their vegetables as you cook to break up heavy bites of meat. It was a really good vibe. Its along the street so theres a large window that makes the floor feel very spacious. Theres very little division between each booth so you can see other people enjoying their food. Wait staff were very quick and attentative, ours rotated throughout the night but they were very keen on food orders and grill changes. It was a great experience!

Food was delicious & a great deal with all you can eat! We were soo stuffed we didn't even order more meats! The potatoes were cold but soo good. Make sure to ask for lettuce wraps!! Great place for dinner or a little date night spot.

This place has halal Korean BBQ and it is *amazing*. As someone who doesn't always love beef, they have really great meat with lots of different Korean preparation/spice variants that are super flavorful and tasty. Great appetizer options (kimchi, rice, chili garlic cucumbers, etc), good mocktails, and you even get complementary ice cream at the end! The Halal Korean BBQ is all you can eat for 90 minutes, which is a great amount of time. The chicken is also very good. Overall great experience and really enjoyed the halal Bbq.

I've walked by this place several times and was curious, so I finally decided to stop in for dinner. I'm SO glad I did! My companion and I arrived early for our dinner reservation and decided to have drinks at the bar. That was the best decision I've made in a while because sitting beside me at the bar was none other than the General Manager, Edin Alvarez. I only learned that after I had spoken to him for a while and told him how much I was enjoying my Lychee Martini. He informed me that the recipe was his own and gave me many other insights into the food and menu. First, the staff was a fun and friendly group. They all clearly enjoyed their jobs, working together, and making the customer happy. A shout-out to Lydia, Eddie, CJ, and Francisco! They'll be seeing me again soon. We opted for the AYCE (all-you-can-eat) option A. It contained beef, which my dining companion doesn't normally eat, but we found dishes we enjoyed between the different proteins offered. I have to insert a warning here - AYCE is REALLY AYCE and our server, Lydia, made sure she kept the food coming. She did her job TOO well because we had to ask her to stop bringing us more food because we were making gluttons of ourselves. She agreed to stop bringing out more food only on the condition that I try the beef brisket, which was the only thing I hadn't tried. I tried to say no, but she insisted, and I'll never question her recommendations again. It was delicious! It was so good that my non-beef-eating companion asked for a taste; even he had to admit it was amazing. This was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had, and I will definitely make it one of my regular dining choices. Do yourself a favor and stop by, have a drink at the bar (I highly recommend the lychee martini), and then enjoy the experience at the table.

My first time trying Gogi Yogi and it was really good! We went with Option B all you can eat and pretty much tried everything. The bulgogi and pork were my faves. I also tried the sweet soju flight: strawberry, plum, peach. They were all good along with the green apple and lychee. I would definitely come back! Service was amazing by Lydia, who was our waitress. She was very welcoming.

let me start by saying the service was great and they were super attentive and kind! However, the food was certainly less good, especially after going out to Virginia for Korean barbecue the week before. Meat was just underwhelming and they didn't have a lot of marinated options for the baseline price meal. Bonchon was also not the best and they didn't have things like steamed egg (at least from when I saw). One think i'll note is they have a halal menu which could be good for some folks! If i was coming to get drunk, get loud, and have KBBQ on the side, i have no doubt this would've been better haha. Unfortunately I guess I'll still have to be going out to Maryland though to get the best stuff.

Great option for AYCE halal Korean bbq - good amount of food for a party of 3-4. The meats were good some better than other. I wish they would've also given more rice when restocking our sides. Service was super friendly and fast. The location is a bit sketchy, would recommend going during the daytime. Parking is also a hit or miss. Overall good place to go if visiting DC or looking for halal options

Came here for restaurant week! I love Korean bbq and it's nice to have an option IN the city! I'd definitely recommend reservations, as it's ALWAYS busy when I pass by! Its a small/medium sized space, but let's be realistic here; it's DC, so you have to get in where you fit in! It didn't feel too cramped, it was just very busy. We got the Dinner #2 AYCE option B and a Soju flight pairing. The food and drinks were delish and it was a great time with friends! Our waiter was also on point! Very prompt and visible! I would definitely recommend... and we'll be back!

my friends and i had such a great experience here!! the service was incredible and so attentive. there's only so much you can do to improve korean bbq, but the service definitely made our food taste so much better. i highly recommend this spot!

Called in for a reservation, but when I showed up, my name was not on the list. The female host was nice enough to find us a table. Meanwhile, the server Timothy was horrible. He left us there to watch this burnt grill the entire time until he decided to bring us our next piece of meat. By then, our time was running out to even enjoy a good meal. Do not recommend it!

Went with the AYCE option B which had pork bulgogi, steak, shrimp and more. It also comes with a few sides.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! This place is UNBEATABLE in the category of wings. Whether you…read morelike Korean inspired wings or not it will be difficult to deny the GREATNESS here. Don't take it from me...if you're on social media you'll see that food influencers have travelled from afar to rate these wings. And even they were in disbelief how amazing these wings were. The honey lemon pepper is not just a unique sounding flavor but the taste execution is something else. If you haven't tried KoChix don't walk...RUN! Service is always nice and they get orders ready fairly quickly for a fried wing joint. Ambiance isn't much to write about. Kind of your standard takeout place. We got the wings and stood outside and enjoyed them. The weather was nice. Bring plenty of paper towels and water to rinse your hands off.
