The ambience made me feel as if I was in a Texas town, and the brisket sandwich had a great combination of flavors, topped with a unique barbecue sauce. But I felt the buns were a bit colder than I wanted, and the pricing of over $20 for a burger and chips was a bit more than I'd like.

I'm not a huge barbecue fan, but after 2Fifty was in the top 10 restaurants in 2026, I figured it was time to stop by! The interior is fun and warm. The menu is big and it took me some time to decide what to order! They also are clearly ready for big lines, but it was quiet at 4pm on a Friday. I got the Wagyu sandwich with two sides, Mac and cheese and beans. The sandwich was delicious, just a little too fatty for me. The Mac and cheese might be the best in the city! The beans weren't too sweet and were a good compliment to the sandwich. I wish it wasn't $22 but I think a real meat aficionado wouldn't mind the price!

2Fifty is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the DC area. It consistently delivers what I consider the best authentic Texas-style barbecue in the DMV. I also love the live screens showing the pitmasters working in their Maryland smokehouse--it's a small touch that really highlights the craft behind the food. The brisket is the highlight. Whether you pick the prime or the Wagyu, it's everything great brisket should be: perfectly smoked, incredibly tender, and full of rich, beefy flavor. The massive Dino ribs are another showstopper--I haven't tried it yet, but it looks epic. The sides hold their own as well. The mac and cheese and brisket beans are excellent, and the banana pudding is a must-order dessert. I also appreciate the subtle Latin American influence in dishes like chicharron, plantains, and esquites, which add a refreshing twist to a classic barbecue spread. They offer decent beer and wine choices, and the service is excellent. It's a comfortable space, with long lines at peak times, and prices tend to be on the higher side, but the quality makes it worth it. Overall, 2Fifty Texas BBQ is one of the top barbecue destinations in the region--often surpassing other local options significantly. If you're serious about smoked meats, this place should be at the top of your list.

The last BBQ I'd eaten before I came here was Michelin star Leroy and Lewis in Austin, TX. Obviously, that's an unfair marker to hold a DC BBQ spot to. We didn't quite get there, but I had a great meal here! We ate family style, so I got to try so many of the options offered here. Shoutout the chef for allowing us to try some of the lamb and pulled pork. The food ranged from alright to absolutely wonderful. Meat-wise, my favorite was the beef brisket and my least favorite was the pork rib. Side-wise, I'd strongly recommend the mac & cheese and the pineapple skewers. This is by far the best BBQ I've had in DC, but I definitely paid DC prices to eat it.

Worth the hype. Tried the prime brisket and enjoyed it with both sauces. Yes, 2Fifty is pricey. Some nice (upscale) details include plastic (cafeteria style) water glasses, portion size, and a clean (well laid out) dining room. As for the 'cue, both the wagyu and prime brisket were tasty. Our Prime was the first out of the new bag and you could REALLY tell. Moist, great bark, and perfectly seasoned. Our main recommendation would be to flash fry (warm) the plantains (and other "hot" sides) before serving.

Love this place and the DC location it's very convenient. Inside it's classic texas bbq restaurant with meats by the pound and specials. I got the beef rib with beans and mac & cheese. The beef rib is my favorite its the best of both worlds ribs and brisket very savory and rich with salt and pepper flavor. The mac and cheese has been improved it has a great crunchy top and gooey center. The beans are nice and savory with brisket slices. Service is nice and friendly with quick service. Very helpful.

Been waiting a while since I saw the video exposé about 2Fifty BBQ in Riverdale, MD. I liked that the techniques used are from Texas. Charming little restaurant located the floor level of an apartment building. I do not believe the meats are smoked here at this location. Rather shipped/driven over from the Riverdale, MD location. So maybe that's why it probably wasn't a good as if it was cooked on location? We came early waited half an hour before the restaurant opened. There were quite a few people also waiting. We already that we decided to get the prime brisket, the dino rib as the main entree, then mac n cheese, zesty garden mix as side and a couple drinks. We would get banana pudding for dessert to go after we were done. The total came out to $113.00 before tip where the giant beef rib cost $55.00. The prime brisket was very meaty and beefy but not particularly moist and juicy. It was on the lean side. No fatty portion with this roast of brisket. Not particularly smokey or flavorful. Along with the meaty "Dino Rib", salt was missing with a heavy black pepper coating on both cuts of beef. It was good quality meat but the wood smoke flavor was lacking. Please salt the meat! Pepper alone isn't going do it. Dipping into bbq sauce will take away from the quality of the meat. The zesty garden mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and watermelo radish was a nice refreshing pace to the heavy meats. But this was also missing something. Couldn't quite put my finger on it though. The Mac N Cheese was the star of the show. The textures and flavors were on point. Very smooth and cheesey. Good salt but not too salty with a nice crusty top. Best Mac N Cheese we've ever had. Worth the trip. Overall, service was good and so was the food but it wasn't close to being as GREAT as Bbq from Texas. It is on the pricey side tho. Only one refill of fountain soda per glass. Probably also need water as you need to wash down the food. We will try the banana pudding later this evening but it does look legit. Update: The Banana Pudding was legit! Natural smooth and delicious. Finished it in under 45 seconds. 10/10 The Mac N Cheese & Banana Pudding are must orders!

Mac and Cheese, esquites, dino rib, wagyu brisket, prime brisket, pork spareribs. I think we ordered too much.

Just flew into DC and after getting to the Air BnB, my wife and I were hungry. We wanted MEAT. I looked up this place on Yelp and it looked good. It was about a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. Right off the bat, You can tell there is latin flavor in this restaurant. We ordered mac and cheese, corn, prime and wagyu brisket, dino rib, burnt ends, and spare ribs. When you walk in, you walk to pick your meats first, then sides. Staff were friendly. After you grab your food, you go to a larger room in the back. Cool looking and laid back place. My favorite was probably the burnt ends. The dino rib is very rich. Of the two sides, we liked the mac and cheese more. The corn was a bit on the mushier side probably because of being in the steam table too long.

2fifty BBQ is a good spot for comfort food! The meat was cooked perfectly, unlimited BBQ sauce on the tables, and the sides were very generously portioned. Staff was friendly and a very clean restaraunt. Only negative was the sides were pretty expensive ~$7 each. But like I said the portions were good. Had the 1/2 lb meat and 2 sides split between two people and didn't even finish it.

This is more like a 4.3, 4.4. I agree with other reviewers that this might be the best BBQ in the DC area, but not the best BBQ period. This is a counter serve location with several picnic tables and a few smaller tables. As you order, staff pull out the things you've requested and plate them for you on now-ubiquitous sheet trays. The meats are smoked off-site (there are TVs live-streaming the smokers on the wall) and pulled from a warming chest, unwrapped, and sliced as needed. Meats are all paid by weight. What this means is that the hottest anything can be is whatever the temp in that warming chest. Unfortunately, that's a little cooler than I'd prefer. The actual meats! We ordered pork ribs, prime brisket, and pulled lamb. The pork ribs were our favorite, and I've seen other reviewers call them bland or overcooked. Neither were true for us, as we found them both extremely juicy as well as flavorful. The brisket had a nice pink smoke ring and a thick layer of seasoning on the exterior. The lamb was a little dry, but the flavor was there. A note on seasoning: everyone has their own idea of what BBQ "should be". At 2Fifty, they're doing Texas-style, and you should know that black pepper is a dominant flavor in every single item. I love black pepper, so this was not a complaint for me. I also need to talk about the purple corn tortillas that come with the pulled lamb. I love the concept. I really wanted to love the reality. But these are the thickest tortilla I have ever seen, and instead of a nice crispy purple tortilla chip, what you are left with is a THICK, greasy brown "chip" that has more in common with a grocery store pita chip than anything else. I don't know what's going on with those. I've seen complaints about them in other reviews. It's true. They're right. These are not good. I took a picture with a nickel held against the chip. The chip is thicker than the nickel. It's baffling because everything else is thoughtful and well-executed. 2Fifty management, please drop these chips. On value, we paid $70-ish for the food and got two meals for two out of it so for BBQ that feels fair to me. I'd go back! I'm also curious about the Maryland location.

After exploring DC, my boyfriend said that if we could get to the metro by four, he had a spot to take me. We walked a mile to get to this place that he kept as a surprise - just kept saying it's one of the best bbq places he's had. Walked in and it's an industrial style place with dark metal and wood but great lighting. When they run out of a food type they're out of the food type until they can smoke more. Anyway. You go to the counter and order what you want and how much of what you want. I got the mild sausage and the traditional brisket, with Mac n cheese and cornbread. He got the hot sausage the waygu (spelling?) brisket, and Mac and cheese. He did tell me later that my eyes are bigger than my stomach and that there was no way I was going to finish all of it. He's not wrong. We got beer and cider too to enjoy with our meal. This place is a little pricey depending on what you get. It came to $125 for both of our meals and two drinks (not factoring the other three drinks we ordered after). Well worth the price though- I basically was in food coma afterwards. I was a little nervous because I'm weird about fat on meat and I generally pick it off and give it to the boyfriend to eat. However it was so melty and tender in my brisket that I was able to eat the fat and the brisket! As for the sausage, we both did order the mild, but we liked the hot one much better (my mouth was spicy after the fact though- not for the weak). I'm sorry I shared my cornbread with my boyfriend because it was divine and I would just keep devouring it if it was given to me nonstop. The Mac and cheese was legit, I love the crispy browning on it and the perfect blend of the cheese and sauce texture. I had two blackberry ciders and it was delicious. He had three lager (pitmaster) and enjoyed it. There was a really nice lady working the back, that helped me carry the drinks to the table because I'm not graceful! (Thank you a whole bunch if you're reading this). There's a spot to grab utensils and napkins in the front and the back. They also provide take out containers and plastic bags to go. You also return your dishes and trays over there too. At the table they provide BBQ sauces (original and spicy). Well worth the adventure out and if you want a more generous restaurant without having to dress up.

TL;DR: 2Fifty Texas BBQ is the best BBQ my wife and I have had since moving to NOVA in 6 years ago. In an area where it's hard to find a great consistent BBQ spot, you won't be disappointed unless you don't care for Texas style BBQ. 2Fifty was my latest quest finding great BBQ in NOVA. Being from Central VA and growing up on Southern VA/North Carolina BBQ the bar is set rather high. Out of the three meats I ordered my favorite was the pork ribs. They had a great bite, seasoned and smoked perfectly and if they finish their ribs with the "Texas Crutch" I bet my bottom dollar there is a hint of maple finish for sweetness, a great rib. Second, I'd have to go with the American Wagyu Brisket. I specifically asked for moist since that's how I prefer my brisket. It was good. I wouldn't say it blew me away being Wagyu, so if price is a factor I'm sure you will be satisfied with the Prime cut. Lasty was the Lechon, temp wide it could've been a tad bit hotter in temperature but when it comes to pulled meats in these establishments, they are usually pre pulled and kept in a warmer or container, and rightfully so for efficiency, but that played into why it was third. The overall flavor wasn't as prominent as the other two. Although I will say the crispy skin they garnished it with too it up a level. The sides were decent but nothing to elaborate in length about, my bar is always low for sides at a BBQ spot because yes, they should be good but NOT outshining the MEATS! LOL. In the case of 2Fifty the sides were not outshining the meats, but they weren't memorable. Should you get them yes out of the three I had the Brisket Beans were the best. Overall this was a great experience, you order in a cafeteria assembly line style, the service was quick nice and professional. The inside was presentable and clean, I will most certainly visit again, especially to try their burger.

The main problem with many BBQ joints is that the meat is bland or worse. Everything depends on the sauces to cover up the meat. Not here. Everything is super well-cooked, and the meat is amazingly flavorful even without the sauce. The potato salad was also excellent. My friends reported that the cornbread was fantastic (no go for me since it's not gluten-free). The corn on the cob was also delicious. They are very friendly and even came by to check on us. The ambiance was very nice and basic, just as you would expect for a BBQ joint. This is definitely a place to go if you are hankering for BBQ.

The wings were seasoned just right and honestly didn't need sauce. If you want one though, go with the cilantro ranch. The BBQ sauce wasn't sweet or smoky, I'm still trying to figure out what the flavor was. Also, I got 9 drums and 3 flats, which was a little off, I'd prefer a 6/6 split. Online you cannot do all flats or all drums The spicy greens are meat-free and I even called both to make sure. had good flavor, but they were more sweet and spicy to me not just spicy. Service / Timing: The cashier wasn't very welcoming. No hello, no thank you, nothing. That definitely stood out for these prices. Value: Pretty pricey for what I got. My total was $27.55 for 12 wings and greens. HIGH Highlight: WINGS. Wrap-Up: Despite the service and the price, the food was good. I will be back for the wings!

The Wagyu Brisket itself Tender , highly seasoned highly smoked just right. Will definitely come back! saw the Dino rib for 36 dollars my mama saw it in person and it was TRUE to size and tenderness. Fat juicy drums! *I gave my aunt the flats, and she enjoyed them too. The brussels and esquites were great. Im not a big parmesan guy, but on the brussels it surprised me. The cornbread had a great texture as it was moist and held up nice; it wasn't dry and crumbly. I prefer my cornbread sweet though. Id pass on it next time. Upon request, the pickles were great, but the pickled onions not so much. They were more bitter and "onion'y" if you know what I mean (it tastes like they used white onions, the ones that go on hotdogs). Im used to them being a little sweet when I get them from bbq places and even Mediterranean spots. And lastly, I didn't like the blue cheese too much it was more bitter (im used to sweeter blue cheese similar to Ken's). Another thing I'd pass on in the future. Overall, the main courses and sides were good. I recommend and would go back again to get the same things and even try the white meat chicken.

The barbecue style cuban is the only way to do it in my opinion, idc if it's classic, we can still do mayo but with the mustard bbq and you're good to go. My wife and I were so excited to show my Brazilian in-laws what real smoked American barbecue is all about and I knew this would hit the nail on the head. What I didn't account for was the bartender/server who was very rude and giving us a hard time about needing to order four restaurant-week meals between myself, my wife, and two diabetic grandmothers. Suddenly he had to be really strict with everything, whereas before when we called ahead they literally said they're really flexible with the restaurant week. It was more than him trying to enforce this rule though, he just had this smug unpleasant feel about him acting very irritated when I told him I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to stay and order since I may be called into work. At that point, he clearly put the brakes on our order because the much larger table next to us, who ordered after, received all of their food before our appetizers even came. Then when they did come he picked one off the table and told the other server to take them back that it was a mistake even though it was the exact apps we ordered. I was apologizing to my in-laws as we felt extremely (forget unattended but) unwelcome and we were getting up to leave 40 minutes into being there, at which point another server came around and sat the classic cornbread on our table and completely changed the energy and gave relief to all this frustration. He took our order with the original three restaurant week meals, no problem and things went smoothly from there on out. He didn't do anything over the top aside from being a nice welcoming person, but it felt like he was an angel after the negative contrast we just dealt with. 5 big stars for the food as always Negative stars for the first server/bartender unfortunately

Staff were very friendly and helped us navigate the menu. It was quiet for a late Friday evening. The game was on and there were plenty of paper towels on the tables. The food was great. Mac and cheese was buttery with the chili powder. My mom and I really enjoyed it. The Iberico ribs were great. The thin oil that coated every strand of meet was unique. Think of Jamon Iberico without being too salty and having sweet Smokey bbq flavor. Very underrated in my opinion. The strawberry lemonade was great! Easy 5/5!

The brisket is the true star of the show: slow-cooked over an open flame, it's fall-apart tender with just the right amount of bark and smoke. Each bite melts in your mouth, rich with flavor that can only come from hours in the pit and a whole lot of BBQ love. This spot isn't just about the meat (though, let's be honest, you could stop there and leave happy). They've also turned part of the space into a mini market that sells fresh local produce, prime cuts of meat, a curated wine selection, and even small-batch ice cream. It's like a one-stop shop for food lovers, whether you're dining in or taking a piece of the experience home. The atmosphere still nods to its past life--exposed beams, condiment stations, and vintage signage add to its cool, industrial vibe. It's the kind of place that feels both laid-back and unforgettable, perfect for a casual lunch or impressing out-of-town guests. If you're looking for a truly unique dining experience where the food is as memorable as the setting, this place delivers.
