For starts, Yes! I would definitely visit again and recommend for others to try it as well. In a to-go order, I got the wings, one meat with two sides (brisket, Brussels, and esquites (corn)), and a 2 piece cornbread. The brisket was pretty good. Not the best I ever had. However, it had great texture and was thick cut. Dipped in their bbq sauce- it was even better. The grilled wings were great. Fat juicy drums! *I gave my aunt the flats, and she enjoyed them too. The brussels and esquites were great. Im not a big parmesan guy, but on the brussels it surprised me. The cornbread had a great texture as it was moist and held up nice; it wasn't dry and crumbly. I prefer my cornbread sweet though. Id pass on it next time. Upon request, the pickles were great, but the pickled onions not so much. They were more bitter and "onion'y" if you know what I mean (it tastes like they used white onions, the ones that go on hotdogs). Im used to them being a little sweet when I get them from bbq places and even Mediterranean spots. And lastly, I didn't like the blue cheese too much it was more bitter (im used to sweeter blue cheese similar to Ken's). Another thing I'd pass on in the future. When I moved to Arlington I saw there was a BBQ spot! As someone who loves a good thing of pulled pork and lean brisket I had to give this place a try! I ordered a two-meat (pulled pork and brisket) with a side of mac and cheese and it was incredible! I ordered online through the Toast App! The staff was friendly, food was great! The BBQ sauce selection is good too. Not as wide as a Mission BBQ but good selection that hits all the different BBQ flavor profiles in my opinion. The inside looks like one of those upscale BBQ spots that people make jokes about where portions are small and expensive but trust me when I say the pricing is fair and portions reflect pricing. There is a parking lot but if you go during peak hours you might struggle. Doesn't help that it's one way in and out. There is street parking nearby but again Washingtkn Blvd during peak hours can be a hectic street. read more

Three point five stars, but because it's barbecue, I'll round up. Right? By default, all barbecue is worthy of a half-star grace rating. The quick: Good brisket, pulled pork, and sides (at least the two I tried). An active atmosphere and Guinness on draft. Decent sauces. The dirty: Maybe a bad night, but the pork ribs were like jerky. My group came it at 6pm on a Saturday night (just before a so-called snow storm of the decade). The bar side was hopping with patrons. The dining side had maybe 4-5 tables filled (it did become quite busy by about 6:45pm). I had the tacos appetizer (with pulled pork) and the 2-meat platter with beef brisket and pork ribs. My sides were the esquites (Mexican street corn salad) and cucumber salad. I chose these to act as a foil to what I hoped to be smokey meaty goodness. The tacos were great. The pulled pork had a deep smokiness. No sauce needed except for the light dressing that came on the tacos. The platter was well-presented with sliced dill pickles and pickled onions as garnish. The brisket was pretty darn good. It wasn't oozing juice and fat, but it wasn't dry, either. It was tender enough to break away with just a little prodding from the fork. The bark was fully developed and seasoned with black pepper. For some, the pepper might be a little heavy, but I liked it. The ribs. Hmmm, the ribs. They looked dry. And they cut like cutting beef jerky with a spoon. I'm not sure if these sat out in the open under heat lamps for too long, or if they were just simply over-baked. The flavor was good, but I had to sauce these up to bring back some moisture so that they wouldn't completely desiccate my mouth. I hope it was just a bad batch because I really want to go back and try them again. The sides were great. The corn was flavorful and provided a nice balance to the meat (which again, on account of the ribs, I had to sauce up). The cucumber salad was refreshing, with a bit of mint. I might ask for a lemon wedge next time to brighten it up a little. Overall, pretty good barbecue for which I HOPE the jerky pork ribs were an anomaly. I'd go back to test that theory. read more

The ambiance feels very much like a barbecue joint and the smokes smell hits you when you walk in the door. Ample seating indoors and on the patio, with a dining room and bar in the back. Liked that the cheese was subtle in this compared to other street corns I've had. -Kids brisket cheeseburger: my son inhaled this! He said it was an 1000/10. -Banana pudding: definitely skip this. Not your classic banana pudding. It was just a bowl of whipped cream with some caramelized brown sugar & bananas. No custard or softened Nilla wafers as you'd expect. Overall, a delicious bbq joint. Service was great despite it being busy. Loud but a kids-friendly place. Parking is hit or miss. There is a dedicated parking lot right next to the restaurant but it's small & fills up quick. We can as party of three and got a variety of items. The cornbread was great. I was surprise the pull pork came with a sauce on it. It was the Carolina sauce nothing spicy but was not expecting it. Came for brunch on Sunday and I loved all the options. Could barely decide what to eat. I thought the spare ribs were pretty good. Stopped in for the first time around lunch hour on a Monday, it was not busy at all, seated right away by staff. The restaurant has a plethora of seating; booths, table tops, bar seating, and what looked like a private event area in the back with a private bar too! The server was friendly and very attentive! Started with a butter scotch root beer which tasted very good, almost reminded me of a butter beer, for all my Harry Potter fans LOL! Also ordered Carolina Gold wings and the flavor was tangy with notes of savory and smoky, very juicy as well! For my main I ordered the brisket sandwhich and it was average, the meat itself didn't have that much flavor to it, wasnt too dry. After adding some of the house bbq sauce (Carolina Gold BBQ) it definitely added flavor to the meal which made it tasteful. After trying the other house bbq sauces I'd say the original is the best tasting, the spicy just seemed alittle more smoky tasting than the original, didn't really get any heat from it. I tried the pulled pork sandwich which had lots of flavor very juicy the coleslaw was a good compliment to the meat as well! Ordered the corn bread and it was really good, moist and the butter to top it was the right amount of sweetness. The fries were amazing, seemed to be double battered or fried up to make them super crispy with that hard outer layer that adds a crunch to every bite! This was an ok visit but I doubt I will come back since I would be passing multiple BBQ spots before getting to this location. There wasn't anything that stood out to make me want to come back but if you're in the area, it's cool to satisfy the bbq craving. The Lavender Haze cocktail was ok, the lavender flavor was really faint. The brisket eggrolls were interesting - the cojita cheese was prominent. The meat was tender. The pulled pork sandwich and chicken sandwich that we ordered was stacked with meat. We were pretty much full from the eggrolls so we only had a few bites of the sandwiches. We tried each of their bbq sauces and weren't wowed but they did help bring some flavor the eggrolls and our sandwiches. The noodles could've been cooked a little longer but the Mac and Cheese was really good. It's the highlight from my meal. I'm not sure of the cheese blend but it had just the right amount of seasoning and the texture worked well with the type of noodles used. Although we were satisfied with our app and entree (we decided to take home the remainder of our sandwiches), there's always room for dessert right? We opted for the peach cobbler and it was terrible. The peaches were hard (partially frozen) and cold. We're accustomed to a warm peach cobbler with cold vanilla ice cream - not cold fruit and hard, salty biscuits. The biscuits were extremely salty. The restaurant looked clean, bathroom was neat and service was decent. I appreciated our servers understanding about us not enjoying the peach dessert. Wow, what a great barbecue spot. I've always driven by it when I'm hanging out Clarendon I've never actually gone and a friend of mine must tell me about the brisket egg rolls. I got curious so we came Saturday right before 3 PM so they still have their brunch menu first thing we got where the brisket eggrolls really happy to see that on the brunch menu and that shit was fire Afterwards my friend told me her next favorite thing was their chicken sandwich and I was like how would you compare it to like a Chick-fil-A sandwich and she definitely said it's more grown whatever that means but it was pretty good. I wish I kinda had gotten something else I was leaning towards the burnt ends at first, but I'm glad I got the side of mac & cheese, cause that was really really good. We originally sat at the bar right before three was gray was super empty by the time we left maybe like 536 it was so crowded and I learned since Hill country barbecue in DC close a lot of the bus tours comes and stops at Texas Jack barbecue and you'll see large groups of people coming in and out all the Time. CORNBREAD MUFFINS (2) - 2.50 We got two orders of these and they were pretty standard. I love corn-based foods, so I enjoyed these regardless. The honey butter was good, but I was OK eating the cornbread muffins without it. Good, but nothing to write home about, though. CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS (LARGE) - 11 The large portion is a good sharable in our group. The brussel sprouts were generously topped with parmesan aioli that gave it more of an "oomph". However, it was way too oily and greasy for me and not too enjoyable after a few of them. PORK SPARE RIBS (HALF RACK) - 21 So tender and the meat easily falls off the bone. The flavor on them was pretty smoked, and overall above average. The meat was tender, but the pork ribs weren't very big or juicy. Either way, we enjoyed them! Food isn't too expensive. This is a Texas Jack's brunch appreciation review. This place has delicious food, great service and great prices. There are many brunch menu items for under $20! I was here recently on a Sunday around 12:30. There were plenty of tables available without a reservation. We opted for a table in the bar area so we could watch football while dining. By 1pm the places was pretty busy, but the service was still on point. I really enjoyed my huevos rancheros with pulled pork. I also appreciated the assortment of bbq sauces. The mimosas were a bit too sweet for my liking... but they're only $5! And they have a mimosa deal if you want a really boozy brunch experience. Decided to get the meat medley for my family and I, which ended up being pretty good. The medley has 1/2 lb. brisket, half chicken, 3 pork spare ribs, 1/2 lb. pulled pork, 1 sausage links, and two sides (collard greens and cornbread). I found the brisket to be just okay. Texas Jack's for me is hands-down the best, most consistent bbq spot in the DMV area. Their smoked meats are never dry and never under-cooked. They have delicious and simple sides, especially the mac-n-cheese. The DMV isn't really well known for their bbq in my opinion, but Texas Jack's is definitely solid. Also, they have really delicious cocktails and their lavender lemonade is one of my favorite drinks. If you eat-in the servers are all super nice and fast/efficient. I have been coming to Texas Jack's for probably a decade. The food has always been solid and scrumptious. It is by far THE BEST BBQ of all the bbq restaurants that I have tried in the DC Metro area. The ribs are phenomenal. The tips are super tasty and have just the right crunch. The all meat chili is what I usually order every time I am there for lunch. The chicken wings can be fried or grilled, but they are smoked either way and flavors pop in your mouth. I like the Parmesan garlic style the best.
