- food came fast - ordered from kiosk but they don't do any of the customizations you put in your order? and then also didn't realize i had 2 burgers? - cherrydale brisket burger is delicious, cheesy, and meaty - it's very thick and dry for a smash burger - swiss mushroom burger is very dry - need a lot of mayo added onto it - cajun fries have good flavor - sweet potato fries are perfectly crisp - lots of indoor seating - not sure if ordering two different fries we got half portions? bc i saw someone with sweet potato fries for one and they had the same amount of both our fries and sweet potato fries combined? read more

I was so happy to finally get to try this place since I bookmarked it as soon as it opened. We visited about an hour before closing on a Saturday night. The lines were decent and there were a lot of people but once you order at the kiosks, you're good to go until your order is called. Despite it being a Saturday evening with a good crowd size, the food came out swiftly!! Bonus as a hungry party of 6!! We all dug in and thought our burgers were good. Only complaint was the 4oz patties DEFINITELY were on the super thin side (almost disappearing with the toppings). The burgers can be pricey too, so heads up. We ordered Cajun, tornado, & sweet potato fries! With the exception of the tornado fries, they were a bit soggy and burnt. One of the staff was cleaning all around, taking the trash out right next to us while we were eating (like in a gross, off-putting way) and asking our kids while they were eating f to move their chairs so he could clean. This was still with 40 minutes till close too. What I hadn't clocked, especially as someone who worked in civil rights, was when we walked in our adult kids noticed some of the staff staring at us and whispering, and that continued through our meal. Our food trays were slid to us and not handed to us like the other customers. We were neither greeted nor acknowledged when we left like the other customers. As a family that consistently is told how nice and kind our family is, the only explanation for this treatment unfortunately makes us think that our type was just not welcomed...which is ironic considering one of the biggest draws for wanting my family to support this business is because it is POC-owned!! So, if you like hyped up food with several sides of microaggressions...this place is for you. Unfortunately for us, this sadly a was a one-time deal. read more

I recently stopped by Burger Billy's Joint to try it out and had an overall okay experience. I ordered The Cherrydale Brisket Burger and The Big Billy Burger, along with the hot honey tenders and fries. The burgers were decent--nothing that really stood out, but still satisfying and filling. The hot honey tenders had a nice sweet and spicy flavor, though I wish they had a bit more kick. As for the fries, they were pretty standard. The vibe is casual, and it's a solid option if you're just looking for a quick burger spot in the area. While it didn't completely wow me, I'd be open to coming back and trying something different on the menu. read more

Definitely one of the better burger spots I've tried. Brisket on the burger was tasty and juicy. But I wouldn't get it again because it was a little heavy (and messy) for my liking. Those fries on the other hand were dang perfect. Twister Fries over Sweet Potato Waffle Fries over Cajun Fries. But they were all equally pretty dang good! They get a star just for the free NBA Jam arcade player in the background! Nice cozy fast-casual vibes! Parking in the back. Highly recommended! read more

Worth all the social media hype. *Food: The burgers are really, really good. The loco burger has a nice infused flavor of spicy and savory. The bacon cheeseburger is good as well. The fries and onion rings were freshly cooked. The honey jerk wings have a good balance of jerk spice and honey flavors. * Service is unmatched. Food comes out nice and fresh. The food was ready faster than a drive thru. Seriously impressed by how fast the food arrived to table. *Ambiance- small dining area. It's more like a grab and go spot. read more

My buddy in PA sent me this spot on Instagram and once I saw the burger I knew I needed to give them a shot. I drove over on a Friday after the lunch rush and they weren't busy. It was super cold inside so a little heat would have been nice. Once we walked in, Jalen was standing behind the counter and let me tell you, he has GREAT customer service skills. If he isn't the restaurant manager, then give him a raise. I asked for suggestions and he sold me on the Old Bay wings (even though he never had them) and the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. I also added some Cajun fries. Let's start with the burger. The 4 ounce patty is small. Reminds me of a smash burger. The bacon on the burger is GREAT! The Billy's mayonnaise sauce as a good taste to the burger. The bun was decent however there is so much bread it overshadows the patty to me. For the price I expected more. The Cajun fries have a great kick. They are Cajun for sure. They were made fresh and Jalen brought them to our table. The old bay wings were HEAVEN sent. They had GREAT flavor, cooked to perfection. I'll go back for these anytime. Nice crisp and all. Overall this is a good establishment. The customer service is great and the food is really good. I'll be returning for sure. read more

Found Burger Billy's Joint on Instagram and decided to make a mommy-son date out of it. Zero regrets. The portions are no joke. We took half our food home and still left satisfied. Billy had a fried chicken sandwich up that day and it was the kind that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned. The twister fries were right there with it. Light crunch. Addictive. One thing I love is how Billy takes a moment to walk first-timers through the menu. You know exactly what you're ordering and what you can add to make it yours. It felt personal in the best way. We'll be back. Often read more

I really wanted to give this spot a higher review. But they left out things on my order that they charged me for. Anyway, this spot has been going viral online for being a spot that one of the presidents ex-chefs opened up (Come to find out, they were just using him for clout). Either way, I wanted to try them out. I ordered a custom burger and fries. I also ordered two different sauces to try (which they charged me $1 a piece and didn't put it in the bag). The fries were hand cut fries, they really reminded me of five guys fries, so if you like five guys fries, you'll like these. They were ok. The burger flavor wise was good. Seasoned patty, fresh ingredients, toasted bun. All the components that make a good burger. So I see why this spot is hyped up. Definitely one of the top burger spots I've tried in the DMV. Just not #1. read more

A great burger joint with good homemade sauces and the owner is very present. When we first arrived the owner told us there was about an hour and a half wait. It was just a warning that they were quite busy and the food could take a while. We were ok with that as we were not in a rush and made our orders appropriately. The food was ready in about 20 minutes so it wasn't much of a long wait. We found some cheap paid parking on a side street but apparently there was free parking behind the spot. There is a good casual ambiance of pop music playing and a free to play NBA Jam arcade machine to pass the time as well. The space was relatively clean for the most part and there were plenty of tables both inside and out depending on the weather. The food was amazing. We got the Cherrydale Brisket Burger of course. How could you not get the signature burger your first time in? You can customize the burger to what toppings you would like. My only complaint was not having enough sauce on the burger for my taste. The fries were also delicious and made fresh. We highly recommend this spot! read more

Good Service, Disappointing Food I really wanted to like this place because of the hype, but it just didn't deliver. The customer service was actually great--the staff were friendly and attentive--but that's about the only highlight. I ordered the Tex-Mex burger, and the patty was paper thin. The flavor was fine, but there was barely any meat, definitely not worth $13. My son's Impossible burger came with shredded lettuce instead of whole leaves, which made it look messy and cheap. The Lemon Pepper wings were drenched in butter or oil, and the Buffalo wings were dry with barely any sauce, even though I asked for them extra crispy. The fries (more like thick wedges) were bland and forgettable. My brother's brisket burger didn't impress him either. The owner asked how everything was, which I appreciated, but overall, the food just didn't hit the mark. Glad I tried it once, but I wouldn't go back or recommend it. read more

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a new burger spot. I was intrigued by the owner's story so decided to check it out. I went to the website to place an order for pickup but when I got to the point of placing the order, the site said it couldn't accept orders. I double checked that they were open and they were so I was confused. I decided to call and see if I could get confirmation that they were open. I really didn't want to drive the 20+ minutes there if they weren't open. Found the number on the website and called but there was no answer. And no recording or way to leave a message. Now I was getting annoyed. I debated going somewhere else but really wanted to try this place, so I got on my car and drove, hoping I wouldn't be making the trip for nothing. I arrived and found a spot on the street right in front of the place and went inside. It wasn't that busy and there were staff up front making food and putting together orders. I walked up to the counter and a man greeted me kindly. I told him I tried to place an online order and he explained that they had run out of something earlier and had closed and only just reopened. I told him I tried calling and he said they don't have a phone number (insert my confused face). I told him there's a number on the website and he said that's probably the owner's personal cell. Say what?! Anyway, I was there, this guy was pleasant, so I placed my order. I got a Billy's Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger and added lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and Keshaun's honey barbecue sauce. I also got regular fries without sauce. I sat in one of the chairs (not at a table) to wait, and it didn't take long to receive a text that my order was ready. They have lockers for pickup but they just handed me my food. It wasn't bad but won't be my number one burger spot. There wasn't anything about it that wow'd me unfortunately. I was happy that I could finish the fries and the burger without feeling overly full as I do at some other spots. read more

Burgers are about 15+ and sides are close to 10. Having said that, I ordered a brisket burger which was excellent, even for a 20 dollar burger. The fries was ok, the onion rings were ok and the sweet potato fries were excellent. The place was clean, good atomsphere and the staff were nice. Food came out quickly. I'd say it's a nice burger joint. read more

SO was craving burgers so we headed out to BBJ. Paid parking in the front, free parking in the back. Immediately greeted when we arrived and there were several patrons enjoying their meals. Ample seating for the space and they have kiddie chairs. We mulled over the menu at the kiosk and SO settled on the candied bacon burger with custom toppings and loaded fries. I opted for the onion rings. Chef Keshaun came over and introduced himself and told us a little about himself, his culinary career and a new pay-it-forward initiative he is doing. The food. Everything came out hot, fresh and perfectly cooked. SO enjoyed the burger and tots. I'm not a smash burger person, so I thought it was just meh and the herbs, I think rosemary, was a tad overpowering. The tots were perfect with cheese, bacon and fresh jalapeños, more jalapeños please. We opted for a side of Chef Keshaun's bbq sauce which was the perfect condiment for the tots. The beer battered onion rings were a little too breaded for me, personal preference. I like thick cut onion with a thin, crispy batter. SO said we will be returning so he can try the Cherrydale Brisket Burger. read more

I was excited to try these burgers after seeing them all over Instagram, but unfortunately they didn't live up to the hype for me. The restaurant was packed, so clearly a lot of people stop by. The staff (possibly the owner) was telling customers to expect a minimum 45-minute wait from ordering to food coming out, which caused some people in line to leave. We waited about 15-20 minutes, which wasn't bad. The burger itself was just okay. The bun-to-patty ratio was off -- the bun was cold and way too big compared to the single patty and toppings. Flavor was decent, so not a total loss. I was also confused because the photo of the burger I ordered showed it coming with the works (lettuce, tomato, etc.). None of that was included, and if I hadn't upgraded to grilled onions, it seems like it would've just been meat and cheese. The twisty fries were decent, and the basket is definitely enough for four people. Side note: they only have Pepsi products, and as a Coca-Cola person, that added a bit to the disappointment. read more

Woah. I def did not need the double cheeseburger. It was a lot of burger. Delicious. But messssyyyyy. Maybe i had too many condiments ? Next time I'd get condiments on the side. You can order one thing of fries or whatever and share them with a group. It was a lot of fries !!! Easy to order. Easy to pick up. We drove back to dc from Arlington. The fries were in a clamshell with no venting, so they were a tad soggy by the time we got home. We still ate them. And we blamed ourselves. Had we lived closer, they'd probably have been perfect. Great price. Supporting local. This has been on my list for a while. Was it my favorite burger in town? No. But it was pretty dang good. I'd go back if anyone asked me to. And only get a single patty !! read more

So we found this place on social media and my partner really wanted to try it and I'm glad we did! I was happy to see they had a homemade veggie burger which is rare at burger places I've been to since it's usually the premade ones. The fries were amazing and a good size! We got 2 to split between the 4 of us! I loved the sweet potato waffle fries and the twister ones. The burger I veggie burger had was pretty good as well. Food was so delicious I couldn't put it down! Wow. I heard this was the best burger place but I couldn't believe it till I tried it! It was everything you would want from a burger. I tried the classic build your own and the cherrydale burger. Both had amazing flavor. I personally didn't care for the bourbon sauce too much but the other ones were great! Placed the food for takeout inside and it did not take too long. They also had a free nba arcade game you could play while you waited. The inside was clean and the workers were funny. read more

Family and heard about Burger Billy's Joint and tried it. The restaurant is located in recently renovated storefront and is clean and trendy with one large chalk wall and and open kitchen concept. The burgers were 100% ground chuck, real cheddar cheese and thick bacon. We ordered the honey wings, brisket burger with curly potato wedges, and a cheese burger and cajun fries. Both burgers were served on brioche buns, cooked on a flat top with cheddar cheese and thick bacon. All burgers and fries were served pretty quickly, well done and hot from the counter. While the burgers, fries and wings were well presented, they were not worth the $16-$20 for each burger. read more

I was looking forward to trying this place, but I was really disappointed. All the tables were dirty in the restaurant and the fries came out 20 mins before the burgers. It wasn't really busy in there, but the staff was telling people it would be an hour + wait, which seemed odd. I wasn't a fan of the burger seasoning, but I'm sure it would have tasted better if the burgers weren't so burnt. read more

This spot is awesome if you want a high quality burger. There is a lot of flavor and all burgers on the menu are a little different. The burgers are an average size and packed with a lot of toppings. The regular cajun fries did not "wow" me but their cajun seasoning is spicy. I was surprised since a lot of spots i've ordered cajun fries from don't taste spicy. I would stop by again when i'm craving a burger but like other yelpers have said the price is a little up there and honestly not sure if it is justified based off of my one visit but i'll be back to update this review. read more

decided to try burger billy. The rating is more so a 3.5/5. Cherrydale Brisket Burger (4/5) - Really good burger but its a mess to eat. Everything falls out and youre going to need a lot of napkins. Other than that, the burger is delicious and filled with flavor. Cajun fried (2/5) - the fries were still a bit hard and wasnt cooked long enough. Also, I felt like it needed more cajun seasoning. Was pretty disappointed in the fries. overall its a solid burger joint. prices are fair imo if you look at the other burgers. read more

Great burgers, friendly staff, and generous portions! I stopped by Burger Billy's Joint for lunch on a weekday and had a fantastic experience. The setup is super efficient -- multiple ordering stations keep the line moving quickly, which is a big plus during the lunch rush. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They answered all our questions with a smile and made us feel right at home. I ordered the cheeseburger, and wow -- it was delicious. Moist, juicy, and packed with flavor. I skipped the bacon cheeseburger since it comes with candied bacon (not a fan of sweet bacon), but my friend went for the Brisket Burger, which Billy himself told us is the most popular item. She absolutely loved it and said it was super tasty. We also shared twister fries and regular fries -- both came in huge portions. Honestly, one order is more than enough to share. Next time, I'm definitely trying the seasoned fries! We ordered Pellegrino waters, but unfortunately they were out in the cooler. The staff kindly gave us some ice, which was appreciated. Bonus: I found parking right out front a treat in the middle of the day. All in all, a great lunch spot with awesome food and even better service. Can't wait to come back! read more

Bookmarked this spot and came by after a hike. It was pretty busy on a Sunday. There's kiosks for ordering and it looks like they do a lot of online orders, with a big cubby station for DoorDash pickups. The food was decent, it was a good burger, Cajun fries were nice and spicy. It was pretty good, but I will say for the price I wasn't blown away. It was a bit on the pricier end, paid about $28 for a single burger and fries, but it was yummy and had good toppings. I just don't know that I'm clamoring to come back but I'm glad I tried it. read more

Really wanted to be more enthusiastic about this place, but there's a lot of room for improvement. 1. The burger (single patty, lettuce, onions) was underwhelming for being a burger specialty place. Seemed like it may have had some nice seasoning, but paper thin. I think another reviewer stated the bun is featured as prominently as the actual meat and I tend to agree with that. 2. Sweet potato fries were uninspiring: about 1/3 of them were burned and they were all a pretty thin / narrow cut. Now the factors that solidified my 3 star rating: 1. The water situation is a bit ridiculous and makes the owner look like a total CHEAPSKATE. I was there with my young child and wanted to fill his small water bottle with just a little water - like I'd be able to at almost any other restaurant. The employee told me the water tower was removed b/c customers kept on breaking it. Yeah, OK. Super lame excuse, as this doesn't seem to be a problem with any other place (or if it was, they figured out a workable solution). Rather conveniently, there is a fridge in the corner with bottled water as well as soda. Also: it just seems like it's standard that a burger joint has the option of fountain soda (to include tap water). That said, the employee *was able to give me some (tap) water, but customers should be able to do so by themselves. Similarly, they don't have standard pump mechanisms for condiments - you know, the one that you simply push down and the condiment comes out. Seems like another cost cutting measure and again, I don't know of any other burger specialty place that does that. 2. Forgot to make half the order. Guy was totally cool about it and it wasn't a major delay. Just another smaller factor that supports the rating. 3. 2 burgers and 2 orders of fries were almost $38. Sorry, but considering the average quality, I think it's overpriced. Observation: the whole "warming container" thing is just a gimmick (as is the "branded bun"). I don't think that's inherently a bad thing, but again, looking at the whole experience, I think a better strategy would be to focus on the quality of the product. On a positive note: they were showing the World Cup and had the sound on. I'm not passionate about soccer, but nice to see they were doing that. Also, I find their logo / font to be oddly satisfying. read more

The restaurant is small but cozy the bathroom was extremely clean. The service was quick and friendly The food was amazing. The twister fries were soft and crispy and not oily at all. The burgers was top tier and extremely tasty. The buns are small and soft so expect them not soak up any sauces you have on the burger. Stopped by because I was craving a burger, and I'd read that Obama used to order from the chef who owns this spot. Ordering is quick and easy on the self-serve screen, but the food doesn't came out fast. It's a casual place with limited seating, so grab a spot early if you plan to eat inside. The burger was decent--the bun felt a little too big and thick for the patty, but overall it tasted good. I also got the Cajun fries, which were flavorful but a bit heavy on the salt (definitely had me reaching for extra water and a dessert afterward). No alcohol is served here, just sodas, since it's more of a casual joint than a full restaurant. Nice addition to burger places in Arlington. read more
