The Great Hamburger does not discriminate. But I do. And I say this place is holy....for us burger lovers. The day: Friday~a little before the dinner rush, so I had the place to myself. No worries. The music was righteous. Soul and R And B pumping through the speakers. The order: I did a "do it yourself burger" but there was plenty of titled burgers to praise and consumer. The burger was cooked perfectly. Juicy and a hint of salt. The bun, fresh brioche-sweet and buttery. A nice selection of additives. I added avocado, lettuce, and grilled onions. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake. Well done shake. Just the right thickness, slightly less dense than soft serve ice cream. If you are a cult member of the Great Burger, then this is your church. Amen.

Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The burger didn't have as much flavor as I have had in the past and the Mac & cheese was just noodles. I was expecting cheesier baked Mac & cheese. And I think there might have been some spicy kick to them too. I picked up my order and ate it a little later, but the sweet potato waffle fries were also not satisfying as they were really limp and soft. A few pieces were crispy so that makes me think it's how they were cooked and not because of the delay in eating them. I could have crisped them up in the oven but I didn't want to go through that trouble. I didn't finish them. I still like Holy Cow but hopefully have a better experience next time.

There was a little wait, but nothing long at all and definitely no complaints. My sister and I both ordered the steak and eggs, which came with potatoes and chimichurri sauce, and everything was absolutely delicious! The steak was flavorful, the entire meal was really good, and I would definitely order it again. For my toddler, we ordered the kids' waffle with fruit. My only small suggestion would be to offer a protein option with the kids' meal to make it a little more complete. It wasn't a big issue for us since I was able to share some of my food with him. The service was wonderful! Our server was quick, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself is such a cute little spot with a nice atmosphere. Overall, great food, great service, and a really enjoyable brunch. I would definitely come back again!

They literally check every box for an amazing outing !! Lively, energetic atmosphere with super chill music and outdoor seating if any of their patrons want to take advantage of the beautiful weather ( and VA landscape) The seating arrangement is cool and cozy with just enough space to comfortably enjoy your meal. ( TV's are at the bar so this makes them the perfect NFL and brunch location !! ) And now let's talk about the food !! WOW !! Like this really impressed me on another level.... It's a fast paced environment, so for the food to be this good left me in awe ( I salute their chef !! ) I started out with the crab stuffed oysters. And I almost ended right there because this appetizer was just that good ( I contemplated ordering two more servings for my meal ) the crab is more like a dip, with a cheesy sauce loaded on top of an oyster ( the best I have tasted for sure ) and when coupled with the ritz style cracker... I had to calm my tastebuds down !!! And for my entree I tried the M & T smash burger with fries and this kept my tastebuds doing its own version of a touchdown dance ( absolutely a 10 out of 10 !! ) Matt and Tony's you have a loyal customer for life ( see you next weekend !! )

Del Ray Café has such a warm, welcoming feel, which makes sense once you learn the building itself is a lovingly restored 1925 Del Ray house. It gives the whole place a real "home away from home" charm rather than the usual restaurant vibe. The food was excellent -- you can tell they take the French country cuisine and fresh, local ingredients seriously. It's clearly a family-run operation, and that care comes through in both the cooking and the service. One heads-up for fellow diners: parking can be a challenge. There's a small lot in the rear, but it only fits a handful of cars, so be prepared to look for street parking if you're visiting during a busy brunch stretch. Worth the extra few minutes of circling, though -- we'll definitely be back.

Ordering for pickup is definitely advised. There is a counter for seating in the window and a handful of tables inside and outside. Most of the people at the tables inside were waiting for pickup so those tables turn over quickly. Al's is classic old school and was a favorite when I first started going and still is now.

One of the special things they do is make their own syrups for their coffee drinks, I'm pretty sure they make their own sauces and dressings too because the house dressing is amazing. One suggestion is to get better ventilation, I smell like a fast food restaurant when I leave however they do have an outdoor patio that is really nice.

We were immediately greeted when we walked in and our server/bartender was extremely welcoming and friendly! We chatted for a bit and really loved the quality of service he provided. It was personable and professional. We tried the wagyu burger (perfectly seasoned and cooked, juicy!) and the hot chicken sandwich (crispy chicken, delectable sauce, overall 10/10 and a MUST). The appetizers we got Brussel sprouts (very bitter, a little soggy, overall a bit disappointing) and the ribbon fries (they were basically chips, but not seasoned or salted) topped with a mayo-based sauce that was pretty good but also pretty disappointing. We didn't have room for desserts but the main dishes and drinks were good! There is a speakeasy counterpart that is right next door with incredible cocktails. Excited to try it out soon.

Makes sense, a little more room out there anyway. We haven't been on this side of the place since it was a Sugar Shack so it was nice to see the new concept. The seats are mostly at the bar was maybe 3-4 tables around the rest of the restaurant. We got a small taster when we sat down which was really good but I do not remember what it was. The zero proof menu we were there consisted of a Blueberry, Fauxgroni, and a Honey cocktail. We got the Blueberry and Fauxgroni to start. Both were made in front of us and had very cool looking details, especially the Fauxgroni's ice cube. The Blueberry was delicious and the honey foam on top was great with it. We figured since we were there we should also grab dinner which was fully available too. Not a huge menu but had snacks and sandos with a Japanese influence. We started with the Oysters Trio and Tater Tots. The oysters came in these ceramic oysters which was pretty cool and they had an amazing flavor to them. Little sweet, little sour. The tater tots were also great because they're tater tots but the sauce really changed the flavors for us. We also got two sandos, the Hot Maple and the Miso Honey. The sandwich's were a good size. So much flavor packed in each bite. The Hot Maple had a ton of bacon jam and combined with the red onion it was a salty, sweet, sour, crunchy rich sandwich. The runny egg on top was a nice touch. The Miso Honey had a strong truffle flavor but the honey sweetness came through nicely. Also very crunchy. Lastly we got two more drinks off their regular menu, the Coffee Bean and the Hibiscus. The flavors in the Coffee Bean worked so well together. I would say it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. The Hibiscus was pretty solid too but I only had a few sips. To end, as a part of our experience, we got these complimentary yuzu lime donuts. I guess as a call back to Sugar Shack maybe? They weren't bad, a little crispy but the flavor wasn't strong. Definitely a cool experience. I might not pay $20 for the zero proof experience itself but I would come back for their food and cocktails because I would say it was all on point.

The prices are definitely on the higher side, but have you looked at literally anything lately? So I'll allow it. They have this very creative Havana theme that somehow makes me feel like I should be drinking a mojito on vacation, even though I'm actually there with two kids negotiating over cheese pizza. Speaking of the pizza: it's what you should get. I recently ordered the chicken parm, which was good! But the pizza is where it's at. Especially the kids' cheese pizza, which is so good that I consider taking a slice from my children a completely reasonable parenting tax. And the Caesar salad? Weirdly excellent. I order it basically every time. The biggest issue is that Lena's is too family friendly. They are incredibly accommodating to kids, which makes it dangerously easy to keep coming back when I should probably be trying somewhere new. So yes, the service is a little slow, the prices are a little high, and I am apparently incapable of ordering anything besides pizza and Caesar salad. 5 stars. I'll be back.
