Save all your calories and look for no place else in Maryland for BBQ. You know a bbq joint is legit when you can smell the delightful aroma outside while you open for it to open. You see, get there too late and your options will be less. This morning before they opened, they already down to a half pound of burnt ends left for the day. They take pre-orders and you better put those in before they open or you'll be waiting until later in the day. Only a certain number of folks can be let in at a time to control seating which is available in and out. I had the short back ribs (which were so delish they fell off the bone), mac and cheese (warm cheesy goodness) and tried some of the baked beans (with brisket, jalapeños and saucy goodness). We also brought home some turkey, and their two kinds of brisket. Sweet baby Jesus. The wagyu brisket is buttery, melt in your mouth delish and the prime brisket is more traditional. Know there may be a wait to get in as you can see and I have heard there have been times of an hour wait. Also, I heard they can run out of food because they are so good so you may want to call if it is later in the day. Delicious!!! I had the pulled pork sandwich which was amazing full of great flavor without bbq sauce. So sauce is optional! Their Mac n Cheese was also amazing and I don't usually eat it. AMAZING! We've been meaning to try this place for a while and it didn't disappoint! The meat is so tender and juicy! It's hard for me to pick which one I like better, but loved it both. Business lunch yesterday. My guy was fiending for this place (again) after I turned him on to it a year ago. I wanted something closer, but endured the drive. For some reason it wasn't nearly as good although everything appeared the same. I've been looking for beef ribs you can always find pork not beef so I was excited to taste this. The beef was humongous But had a seasoning like what they put on pastrami. The inside was small but comfortable and there was another section which I believe may have been for carry out. Once we got inside, the line continued for us to order. Ww sat down and ate and then realized we wanted more food, so we were able to order at the table instead of waiting in the line again. We tried the beef ribs, which was one large slab of rib. It was very flavorful and tender. sit easily pulled off the bone to take leftovers home. We tried the brisket sandwich and equally delicious. I decided to try a special they had a brisket tostadas and it was one of the best things Ive eaten. We found this spot after my son's graduation in Hyattsville. It had good reviews and we were in for some good barbecue so... We were a group of three adults and four children and decided to order different items since we didn't live in the area and weren't sure if we would be back. SO and I arrived 5 minutes prior to opening on a frigid February 2026 Saturday. We were the second party in line and the people just kept coming. The door was opened for us and we were immediately greeted. The dine-in space was bigger than we anticipated with four large multi-seating picnic tables/benches, 2 pub tables/chairs and 4 standard tables/chairs. They do also have outdoor picnic tables/chairs. One of the co-owners was mingling with customers enjoying their food and ensuring they were happy. I get the hype about 2fifty!! I was so excited to come here and I came for a mission and that was to try thier ginormous dino rib! They also have a poster board as well which was used to inform what items were sold out. We weren't in line a long time and lucky there were no items posted before it was our turn inside so everything was in play for us. We went inside and there was still a line to the counter to order. The place was rather small with small tables around the parameter and large outdoor wooden tables in the middle for eating there. It was our time to order. The staff were pleasant and we ordered the beef rib, smoked chicken wings they had on special, pulled pork sandwich with the Cole slaw on the side, mac and cheese, brisket beans, and cornbread. They had an assembly line prep area where they prepared the orders and also a cold case where the cold salads were kept. We were given a buzzer to let us know when our order was ready. We luckily found seating by the front window and our buzzer buzzed letting us know our order was ready. Everything looked good and we got into it: Beef rib: The BEST of our order. The rib was HUGE and is a best seller. When I went to pick it up, it was falling off the bone. The tender smokiness coupled with the great seasoning made this a hands down winner in our book. The roll was fresh and complimented the meat well. The Cole slaw we got in the side was fresh, crisp, and good. The sides: The brisket beans weren't the traditional sweet ones; these were more savory, which I was not mad about. The brisket pieces were abundant and enhanced the beans even more. We really enjoyed them. The mac and cheese was decent. Although I am not a true fan of "outside" ( made outside of MY home,lol) mac and cheese, this one was decent with a nice blend of cheeses and the overall smokiness was not overpowering and lended to its nice taste. The cornbread was nice and sweet, which I liked. The referenced as more like cake, which it really wasn't to me, but still good. We were glad we arrived as early as we did because the line outside was massive. They also have wooden tables outside for you to enjoy your food as well. This past weekend I was going down to DC and was looking for some good place to eat, and someone recommended this BBQ place, when I looked up and saw the pictures and review, I knew this is as close to Texas BBQ as possible in the east coast. I found that there are two location one in DC and one in MD, I decided to go to the MD one on the way back home to PA First when I got there around 5pm, the parking lot across the shop was full, there were already line waiting outside the store, there are plenty of outdoor seating. You can tell this place is amazing just by smelling it from the outside and how long the lines are. There are also free water in the cooler outside of the store. The wait isn't too long as it moves pretty quick, the staff will open door and let you in when there are space in the order line. Once I am in the line inside and I ordered the food, it took no longer than 4min to have the food ready. You can tell all the meat they are cutting are super fresh and juicy. They ran out of pull pork for the day which my wife wanted I wanted to order a bit of everything, my wife and daughter ordered wagyu sandwich, she told me it was so good and she didn't expected that, the meat is so juicy and melt in your mouth, the flavor is so good. I had the pork ribs, it is juicy and full of flavor, fall off the bone good. The smoked turkey was excellent, it is juicy and super fresh and tender. The chicken quarter leg is very good, but I can probably skip this one and try some beef brisket next time. The corn bread was very good, the mac and cheese was also good. There was also free water inside if you wanted. If you can't finish the food there are container box on the counter and you can grab. Ther service was excellent, people love what they do there. There are also many seating inside if you want to eat inside. This is as close to any Texas bbq you can get if not better in my opinion. My first experience at 2Fifty was amazing! The line moved fast, the fragrance of food in the air was fabulous! The wait time for orders was not long. The only thing I forgot was plastic utensils so I could eat a couple bites before I got home. The meat was so tender! Mac n cheese was flavorful. The pulled pork sandwich was good. The mashed sweet potatoes need a little flavoring, but they're not too bad! All and all, a strong 9.75 out of 10!!! Go check this spot out!
