I hired Rocklin Pest Control to perform dryrot damage repairs on my home. The construction crew did a great job!

I used these guys for 4 years in a row. This one being the last. They used to send a middle aged woman over and she worked wonders. Thorough spray, cleaned spiders off the building, super friendly and attentive. This year was much different. They called in advanced, told us we did not need to leave the house that it would be fine. They showed up and the tech acted shocked we were planning to stay. He refused to spray the whole property, didn't locate the source of the problem and the bugs came right back. All previous years they came sprayed everything everywhere once and killed all the things. This time was a half ass lazy af job by some kid who obviously was more concerned with getting himself out instead of the job itself. I had to call another company out which was over $100 cheaper and came with 4 follow up appointments. Considered cancelling the check I used to pay them, but then I'd do business even worse than them. That is not a level of shame I am willing to undertake. Never again will I call these guys and you shouldn't either. This is your warning. read more

We received an estimate from Rocklin Pest and my frustration is how expensive the quote was as well as the problems that were described. We received 4 estimates for the same services- Rocklin Pest Control was WAY over the average price of the other companies. The other 3 companies said we had mice (I know because I SAW one) yet Rocklin Pest said we had rats. There are no rat droppings, the other 3 companies confirmed they are mice. I feel like Rocklin Pest Control was trying to induce fear by saying we had rats. The technician who gave us a quote said we needed to remove part of our tile roof to fix the problem. The estimate was over $2,000 to get started, plus a monthly service fee...absurd! I feel like they knew I was grossed out by the mice (cuz, who wants mice running around their home!) and tried to take advantage of the situation. Not impressed. I try to promote local businesses and leave only positive reviews but this estimate was outrageously high. read more

It was time to paint my 35 year old house but the painters said I needed to have dry rot fixed first. I went through a few contractors before finding Rocklin Pest control .They came out , did a complete inspection with photos and a detailed report. I contracted them to fix my dry rot. They had a crew come out and do the work which took about 2 1/2 days. The work was excellent and everything was ready for my painters. Not impressed with this company. They were hired NOT by us to do a pest inspection. Not only was their estimate OUTRAGEOUSLY high, they also have some special notes in their contract stating that if while ripping out our perfectly good bathroom they damage our carpet, it's not their fault. And don't forget the, if you DONT use them for repairs they could take up to 4 months to re inspect, but of course they have to inspect while everything is open. Good luck with that one. Maybe they saw me as a dumb young person who knew nothing about homes. Well, they were very wrong. I've been under my house and in my attack. I re roofed our house less than 1 years ago. I have friends who are licensed contractors who have inspected my home with great things to say. I'm not saying there is nothing to fix in my house, because there is. It's 70 years old! However, when other companies are coming in with quotes 40-60% less than yours but finding the same problems, there is a MAJOR issue with your ethics. My point....look elsewhere! read more

This review is for inspection only. Donald Jones came out to do a pest inspection on a house we are trying to buy. He was very professional and very experienced, he spent close to 4 hours digging into a very small crawlspace. He took many great photos, and found so many problems inside. The sellers provided a pest inspection report prior with nothing on it, which of course I don't trust. Don did a wonderful job for us, and his fees are very very reasonably. We ended up withdrawing our offer to the house for all the problems he had found. He saved us thousands on repairs, and a gave us a peace of mind and a confident decision. We moved to Rocklin a year ago and a few weeks after moving in I discovered a GIANT black widow in bush next to our house. Subsequently, we learned that there are lots of black widows who reside in Rocklin. We found Rocklin Pest Control through Yelp and have been with them ever since. On their first visit, Don discovered several black widow eggs in our garage. He excitedly showed the eggs our kids (who were delighted) and my wife (who was disgusted). Please make sure you check the property before you sign up or pay this company for their services. We had a technician from Rocklin Pest control come out to do a service at a building that has been vacant for over three years. After the service was done we discovered multiple black widows and a hornets nest that was missed during the service. The initial service was $210, unless we signed for a month to month service the initial service would be guaranteed. After the service we decided to get a second opinion due to the inadequate service provided by Rocklin Pest. We called Clark pest control to look at the property and discover multiple areas that were missed by Rocklin Pest. Clark Pest was professional and educated us on the problem areas, also no pressure to sign up for their bi-monthly service which was very different from Rocklin Pest's approach. Rich, you told us you would have liked the opportunity to come out and do another service after we requested a refund for your service which was clearly done poorly. If you had done a thorough job the first time we would not have had to get a second opinion on the property. I hope my $210 helps you out in the short term. read more

This is a great company. I found termites in my house and phoned Rocklin Pest Control. Denise answered all my questions and arranged for an inspection. Don Jones, one of the owners did the inspection and was reassuring and answered all my questions. They set up the termite treatment on a Sunday just 6 days after the inspection. I can't say enough good things about Chad and his 3 man team who arrived to do the work. Chad explained everything clearly and the whole team was so professional and hard working. Hired them to patch the holes allowing rodent access to my attic and garage. They tried I suppose. I was able to trap several rats after their patching, but months later we still have a problem. I asked for a re-inspect. Someone came out and walked around the house looking up a bit. They never entered my attic or went up on the roof. I was then told I needed to spend more money on their trapping program for them to find the additional holes. That makes no sense to me. I went into the attic and found more unpatched holes myself (and patched them). I'm certainly missing some still (I'm not a pest control expert after all) and will definitely be looking into using a different company to repair those in the future. I spent over $1000 with this company with no real results. Not recommended. read more

He also said he would post his "sticker" that he had been here, which he did not. Not only that, he never emailed us or called us about the estimate and it's been four days since he was here. We are really disappointed in the service that we did NOT get and are now getting inspections from other providers. I had Rocklin Pest Control come out to my house today because I thought I had termites in my fence. My neighbor said we had termites and needed to replace our shared fence. A fence company came out to look at her fence and came over to our house to let us know we had termites and should get a new fence. I thought I'd ask the pest experts if I had termites! Don came out today and looked over my whole fence, house, and garage area. He said I do not have termites! I was impressed with Don's honesty. I feel like many other companies would have gone along with the termite theory and sold me a termite control treatment plan.
