Very thorough effective service. Mike , the technician that usually does our service, is great. Makes sure the job is done right! We've been very happy with this company! read more

Probably the worst possible pest control company in the greater Sacramento area. I've been having them come out to my house for over 12 months now and the pest problems have only increased in severity. If you can avoid this company I would with all costs. There's no way a self proclaimed "expert" pest control person, needs to ask whether I need the inside or outside serviced in a home he's been to 10 times in 12 months. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME 3 years ago, my 10 week old puppy almost died from eating rat poison that had fallen off the fence due to neglect from Specialized Pest not securing the device to the top of the fence. The bait box fell to the ground, behind a small shed, without my knowledge, spreading poison granules all over the ground where it fell. $2500 in vet bills later, we were just happy our dog survived. When I brought it to the attention of Specialized, they came out, secured the box and apologized by offering 1 year of free service (total of about $450....as we have quarterly service) We decided since we had been with them for years, to give it another chance. In the last 3 months we have had issues that needed special care, booking our apts with Gina, who assigned them to the owner. On 3 separate occasions in the last 3 months, the owner never showed. Never called. We took time off work to be home during the "WINDOW" of time and 3 no shows. If you, as the owner, cannot show up or call to reschedule....there is a serious problem here. They do not respect your time and when I called to ask if they were going to show...I was told that they are busy in the summer and things get missed. WOW. I canceled my service, going with a local Rocklin company. Don't waste your time, terrible service. If you have pets BEWARE. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! Specialized Pest Control has done an outstanding job getting rid of our bugs, especially BLACK WIDOWS! the outside of out home was being swormed by spiders and no matter how much we did they kept coming back quickly. We were in over our heads and the black widows posed a serious health risk to our family. I am ellated to say that this amazing local, family business took care of all the bugs and now we are free from worrying! Elizabeth at the office is so kind and on top of making sure our home is treated. Robert, our pest specialist worked very hard and we are so impressed with the treatment he provided. We look forward to continue working with this company and appreciate the work that they did. read more

Very friendly staff. We have had no issues with any bugs since starting our service. Professional and great pricing.

I have been a customer for over 23 years and as of today I will no longer be using your service. I requested a different technician service my home 3 times and they just keep sending the same person out or worse, last week the tech just doesn't show up. I don't believe that the backyard is EVER done if I don't answer the door to let them know I am home (gates are always unlocked and my dogs are inside so there is no reason other than he just doesn't want to). I agree with a previous review, service has really declined since Gina left. Formerly a satisfied customer, now I will be looking elsewhere. read more

I paid $225 for two rat traps on the first visit. They didn't show up on the second appointment as scheduled to report on "rat" problem. This is how they put the trap in the attic! It's a squirrel problem. Dennis didn't see the problem and I had to provide the ladder. Very disappointed and don't recommend using them. No response with follow up telephone calls. read more

My husband and I had been dealing with an ant issue for about two weeks and finally got tired of it so we called Specialized Pest to bring in the professionals. Everyone was so helpful, kind and very knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish with the utmost care and professionalism. They were prompt and gave us a tube of ant glue which did wonders and now we no longer have ants. I recommend them to anyone who is dealing with ants or any other pest concern, they're the best! It's an amazing feeling being taken care of the way we were! Jen and Ryan K read more

I have used specialized pest control for about 10 years. Over the last year the level of service has dropped off to a point where I have dropped them and switched to a different service. This last month was the last straw. I made an appointment one a day and the following needed to change it. I called six time and left three messages without a single response. On the seventh call I made contact to change the appointment and found the next available time was a week away so I kept the scheduled time. I was told the service person would arrive between 8 and noon. I stayed home all morning and no one showed up. I guess they no longer need long term customers. read more

I left 4 voicemails over the course of 3 days. They never responded and the email feature on their website doesn't work.

Ineffective service, high prices, poor customer contact. You'll be lucky if they manage to show up to keep the appointment. *This isn't my real name, Einstein. I found an alternative who costs less and keeps their appointments. read more

Specialized is on their game! A little back story... We had the same pest control company for 17 years. We never really had issues inside, but the backyard ALWAYS had ants no matter how much we complained. Their staff was kinda annoying- always a different technician who would ring the doorbell (waking my husband who works nights) to give us the bill- which we always pay online so no conversation necessary. I was really annoyed when I saw them hose down my organic garden with pesticide without asking me first. Anyhoo, I decided to give them the boot finally this summer and forgo pest control altogether. No less than 3 months later, we had cockroaches. German Cockroaches. Roaches! In the kitchen, in the master bath, and the back patio. I can tolerate many things, but roaches are NOT one of them. I was ready to pack my bags when my husband started calling around for service prices. Many companies were like sorry, you're screwed, once you have them, you have them for life. Specialized was the only local company who did not shy away from the word roach and did not want a surcharge for them upfront. They gave us specific instructions to prep and were there when we were ready. Now, mind you, the bugs did not disappear immediately (nor did I expect them to) but only maybe 3 return visits were required before they were gone for good. Less than 2 months to get my house back. Aaaah. With Specialized, we always dealt with the same knowledgeable technician, so he was familiar with our problem and knew right where the issues would be. We did not have to pay for service upfront, and with their bi-monthly billing, they had been at our home several times and the bugs were gone before they received a cent from us. Overall, we are paying $12 a month more than our previous company, but I now have confidence in the job that is being done. Well worth the upgrade. I completely recommend this company. read more

My landlord hired Specialized Pest to come out, and take care of the mouse problem that we were having in the garage, and George came out and set up traps and poison in the garage. He gave me his card, and I put it on my fridge but I didn't think I was going to ever use it. Little did I know that my house was going to have a major flea infestation a month or so later. I called them to find out how much extra it would be for them to come over to our house to spray for fleas. Gina told me that there was no extra charge that it's included in the routine maintenance charge. Gina quickly set up an appointment and George came over and sprayed the inside and outside of the house for fleas. We had a major infestation of fleas on the outside that kept getting on the inside of the house, and they were incredibly helpful, and came out as many times as was needed to get the problem under control. Just today I got a call from Gina just to check in and make sure that everything was going well with our flea problem. The two people that I had interaction with George, and Gina and they were both friendly, and courteous, and did anything in their power to help us. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help dealing with any pest issues. read more

I recently acquired a new furry family member who ended up with fleas after her spay appointment at SPCA. Several weeks went by before I noticed fleas on her and immediately called Gina for advice and tips on how to treat my home in order minimize an infestation. Needless to say, my efforts to rid our home of those pesky fleas did not work and I had to call Specialized Pest Patrol to treat my home. Scheduling with Gina was a breeze and effortless. She asks me when I wanted someone out to the home and booked the appointment. With my specific instructions a technician treated my home literally the next day and saved my sanity and my poor kitty from flea hell. I highly recommend using Specialized for any pest control needs. Their prices are reasonable, their service is exceptional and their staff is professional! KJ read more

I've been happily using Specialized for over a year now. After using several large companies in the past and feeling like service was mediocre, I decided to try a local pest control company. Specialized had always been extremely thorough in their work as well as very accommodating of my sometimes strange requests for specific bugs and issues which occasionally crop up. One of my favorite things about Specialized is the same technician visits every time. He is familiar with the property and remembers what I prefer to have done. Ant colonies have been decimated. Spider nests obliterated. Without having to be instructed, the tech stays away from my organic garden, leaving it organic with its own ecosystem. Every where else throughout the property, I am bug free. They even put out pet-safe rat poison/trap thingamajigs for when I had rats nibbling on my squash. The company provides wildlife trapping as well, which is good to know, since I live near the river and have frequent visitations from possums, skunks, and raccoons. I've recommended this company to multiple people. Each person has been very pleased with their service as well, so I happily recommend Specialized Pest Patrol to yelpers as well. read more

I've called Specialized Pest on two occasions, one for removal of a roof rat and another for spraying due to an increase in spiders. Both times I found it easy to make an appointment, they showed up at the beginning of the indicated time window, and the pest control expert was friendly and answered whatever questions I had. In the case of the rat problem, they even walked the property to alert me of vines, attic openings, etc. that should be addressed to help avoid future problems. Their prices seem on par with what I've heard calling around. Should I have another pest problem, they're my first call. read more

I had roaches!!! Thanks to a VERY short lived roommate. I tried, and tried all the home remedies on-line I could find. No improvement. I finally resorted to poison. I called the pest control company. They charged over $150.00, and insisted on a one year contract of $75.00 a month:(. I was desperate so I reluctantly agreed. $1,050.00 later I STILL had roaches. Called another company went through the exact same scenario, with SAME exact results. So now it's been 2 years and I still have roaches. Again I tried the home remedies. Gave up, and started calling pest control a-gain. Each one wanted 1 year contract. NOT!! until I reached Specialized. NO CONTRACT!!!! AND if within 30 days you still have the original problem, they will come back without ANY additional fees. AWESOME company. DO NOT USE anyone else. PLUS.......they got rid of the roaches. Been roach free ever since. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH.!!! read more

Sadly, this company has gone down hill since Gina's departure. She was amazing to work with, extremely knowledgeable and responsive to any/all issues. We have had a 12 month contract with Specialized Pest since Sept. 2018 and will be switching to a different company this month. Any responses I receive (if at all) are short, inaccurate (getting dates wrong, payments, etc.) and overall disappointing. I feel like I am speaking with a child rather than a professional, leaving me to do most of the work myself. At this very moment, I don't even know if someone is coming for our "scheduled" appt. but I've been here waiting for 2 1/2 hours. (P.S. They are even still using Gina's email in all communications) **I would like to add that the exterminators themselves are still great. This is not a reflection of their work at all, this is 100% an office/management issue and this isn't a review I ever wanted to leave. read more

I had an ant problem I thought I could take care of myself. After spending plenty of money on all sorts of products that claim to get rid of ants and having no luck, I called Specialized. Gina set me up with an appointment within a couple days. Rob came out and sprayed inside and out. I signed up for a year service and my first spray was free. In 3 weeks I haven't seen even one ant! Thank goodness! No more waking up to a new trail in my house every morning. I was very happy with the service and the product. read more

I have been using Specialized Pest Patrol since 2003. That alone should serve as a great recommendation. Their service is dependable and reliable. When I first moved into my house, I was having problems with spiders and crickets. Since hiring SPP, I almost never see bugs in or around my house. One time I had ants and they came out very quickly and treated the area. I highly recommend going on contract. My house and property are treated every other month and I have no pest problems to speak of. Another great thing about SPP is the people. Gina is always friendly, listens and is genuinely interested in your pest problem and appreciative of your business; as is Rob. Here's a cute story: After each treatment, the technician leaves an invoice with information on what services (spray for ants, spiders, etc.) were done. About two years ago, my then 4 year-old daughter was very afraid of ghosts. I shared this story one morning with our long-time technician, George. When he was done treating the house, he left the invoice with a handwritten note under "Other" It said, "Sprayed for Ghosts." With that kind of personal service, I'm a customer forever! read more

Reliable. Friendly. Affordable. Communicate really well about what they are doing - and listen to my concerns.

These people are life savers. Living in Carmichael we deal with ants almost every winter. Finally gave up on ant traps and called around to find a deal. After calling around a little I spoke with Gina, who was very helpful, I decided to go with Specialized Pest Patrol. Gina kept me alerted when exactly the extermination would be done, I felt very comfortable that they could take care of my problem. Wow! Completely ant free! The job was quick, complete, and the customer service was on point. I was well informed of options and recommendations. So, long story short, I told my bro about them and he was as amazed as me... Thanks for taking care of me and my family! I would suggest anyone with pest issues to give these people a call. read more

Do you have pets with access to your backyard? Be aware...the serviceman left our backyard gate wide open. That is careless and unacceptable service. George was great, explained a lot of stuff too me and took care of the house!

A lot of construction has been happening in my neighborhood in Sacramento of new houses. Noticed displaced rodents running around and had skunks around my property. Its nice coming home after work with no skunk smell and actually enjoying having windows open in my house again. read more

This is a good company. Gina and the office are very friendly and try to please you the best they can. My family own a decent amount of property in California and I'm happy to give Specialized the opportunity to work with us. Maybe I'll get lucky and Specialized will branch out that way one day. LOL read more

I would not even give this company one (1) star but you have to, to start the review. I have had a contract with this company since 2006 for structural pest services. In February 2020 I contacted the county because I had a skunk get underneath my house. The county recommended Sacramento Trapper. I contacted them and learned it is a separate business that is also owned by Bob, the owner of Specialized Pest. I received horrible services from Bob relating to attempting to catch the skunk and disputed the amount he billed for the service. The bill came on a Specialized Pest invoice, not an invoice from Sacramento Trapper. The services provided by Sacramento Trapper had nothing to do with the contract I had for pest control services with Specialized Pest. However, Specialized Pest stopped coming and doing my bi-monthly spraying. I asked them for a copy of my contract to see if they should have given me notice, then I was told they threw it away and it was not available. Their great offer to me was to give me a blank contract to read without signatures. I told them I would not know if it was the contract I actually signed. I am proceeding with my complaint to the Structural Pest Board in regard to them throwing the contract away. During this, I told the investigator I wanted their bait boxes off my property. Today, with five (5) minutes notice, Bob showed up at my house to collect them. I am taking care of my 80 lb dog that just had ACL surgery, and Bob came knocking on two (2) different doors causing drama making the dog agitated. The pest control person that serviced my house was always nice, but Bob and Elizabeth need classes on customer service. During one conversation with Elizabeth I was called a liar on multiple occasions and accused of making statements I never made. She also kept relaying versions of facts that are only in her mind. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! THE WORST! read more

These guys couldn't get their stuff together. I had to keep track of when they came so they didn't come to often, once tried to come 2 weeks early, bugs still present after sprays & a challenge to get a hold of the office, after leaving messages, no call back. They were good about not charging me when there was issue though and let me cancel early cause I wasn't satisfied, which was nice. Just gave up and found another pest service. ** 6/20/15 The owner called me about my yelp review and rather then being nice and talking about issues I had with the services I received so he could improve, he called to let me know I was wrong for leaving the above review and he was very rude. read more

Excellent customer service and gets the job done right the first time! I had a cockroach problem due to the city cleaning/pumping the sewers and woke up these nasty bugs to search for a new home. I've lived in my house for 4 years and no bug problems, so of course I freaked out when I kept seeing 1-2 in the garage or outside my house at night! I requested quotes from several places via Yelp and Specialized Pest Patrol answered right away and was the only company not trying to persuade me that I should do an annual contract with them. I just needed a one time service to get rid of these guys before they make their way inside the house. Specialized quoted me $175 for a one time service and I know its sounds a bit pricey but I read the reviews of others with my problem and they seem very satisfied. I also have a friend that has an annual contract with them and has been a happy customer. Gina set up my appointment and sent me an email for instructions to prep before the technician comes. She was very sweet and helpful with all my questions. On the day of my appointment I met George he was very kind and helpful in explaining what they were and what he will be doing and what to expect. He finished after an hour. Told me if I see anymore of them after 2 weeks to give them a call and they'll come out for free. It's been 2 and one-half weeks... haven't seen any of them alive! Just swept the dead bodies and let me tell you, I cannot believe how much there were! Disgusting and super happy I got a good company to prevent something worse from happening! Thank you! read more
