From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere and customer service were superb. The restaurant is quaint and welcoming. Our server, David, was absolutely fantastic! He was kind, patient, attentive, and incredibly efficient. His warmth and fun personality made our dining experience memorable. It was truly a joy! And, of course, the food was excellent! My bestie and I enjoyed the calamari, Basin Broiled Oysters, Key Lime pie, Bloody Marys, and Mimosas. Both dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared. Well drinks were $5, the bartender working was very friendly and poured a nice strong bourbon and ginger, thank you! The craftsmanship of the bar and all of the tables along the wall is gorgeous. A carpenters dream bar, everything made from repurposed wood, sealed and had a nice glossy lacquer, not what you would expect in a dive bar like this. The bar is quite spacious and they have a second bar in the back to accommodate larger crowds. All-in-all, great spot to get a drink on the cheap and see some live music. The space is half outdoors and half covered, with two levels to explore. The drinks were cheap and surprisingly strong. The rock area had a great band, although they charged far too much to play a requested song. The dance and techno club was also a lot of fun, and the music kept the entire place lively. Throughout the night, I kept asking everyone where Rick was. Each time, someone told me to quiet down. Naturally, I responded by yelling, "RICK! RICK! RICK!" in rapid succession. Rick then appeared from a puff of green smoke, looking like a combination of Macho Man Randy Savage and Grandpa from The Munsters. He asked why I had summoned him by saying his name three times. I apologized and explained that I had merely been trying to locate the owner. Rick handed me three Bacardi Lemon shots and ordered me to drink them back-to-back-to-back to cleanse the air. I obeyed, and we soon found ourselves laughing over a terrible "bad blood" joke. He then gave me a tour of his many bars, introduced me to a suspiciously pale bartender named Vlad, and led the crowd in a spirited rendition of "The Monster Mash." Rick even shared his favorite vampire joke: "Why did the vampire open a bar?" "To raise the spirits, but business was slow because everyone kept asking for a Bloody Mary." It was a fantastic night, although I did wake up the next morning with two strange dots on my neck and an intense craving for tomato juice. Overall it's divey with an abundance of niknaks and stuffed monkeys. They started karaoke at 9:30. It seems the songs are older. There is a couple that comes every night. It felt extremely awkward being one of the few being sung to. If you want to practice singing without judgement this may be the place for you.
