Thirty minutes later, after watching two tables arrive, eat, and leave--including one customer announcing, "That was fast!"--we asked about our food. Apparently, the kitchen had run out of paper. Not eggs. Not potatoes. Paper. We were told it would be another five minutes. Meanwhile, our table had an empty hot sauce bottle and two napkins for four people. Apparently, we were supposed to establish joint custody. When breakfast finally arrived, my son's eggs were on his French toast plate instead of on the side. My husband's skillet had somehow transformed into biscuits and gravy with egg yolk but no actual eggs. An impressive disappearing act, although we would have preferred breakfast. My fried potatoes were completely white, with no sign they'd ever flirted with a crispy edge. When I asked, I was told they come that way unless you order them "extra crispy." I hadn't realized browning was an optional upgrade. None of the food was hot. Barely warm would be generous. Our server couldn't really explain the mistakes but did say they would take care of the bill, which we appreciated. There were a few bright spots: my son's Shirley Temple came with lots of cherries, my iced tea was good and strong, and my daughter's steak was good and cooked medium rare as requested. So, credit where it's due: the cherries, tea, and steak understood the assignment. The cleanliness was harder to overlook. Lots of flies and dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling throughout the restaurant, including in the kitchen. The ceiling decorations were apparently permanent residents. We've been here a few times, and each visit has been a little weird, but sadly, this will be our last. We wanted a neighborhood favorite. We got a breakfast mystery with a supporting cast of flies. They gave us time to read the menu and decide what we wanted. We got three coffees and three sandwiches to go. They came out pretty fast and were AMAZING! I got the seasonal brown sugar latte and the breakfast croissant sandwich. The latte was super tasty and the sandwich was even better. I was able to eat it while driving and it wasn't too messy. The spread on it was absolutely delicious! My friends both loved their drinks and sandwiches too. The cafe is super clean and easy to find. There's plenty of street parking. I only saw stairs to the front door but there may have been a ramp on the other side, I'm not sure. The bathroom is pretty clean and is gender neutral which we all appreciated. All in all this little cafe is lovely! If I'm ever in Spokane again I will make sure to stop by and support them.

I enjoyed mine more than my wife did. Mine had bacon, egg, arugula and cheese and hers had turkey, pesto and cheese. She doesn't really like arugula and the turkey didn't taste the best. Mine was great (I do like arugula). My latte was nice and tasty. Nice place.
