Chaps scramble
Emily L.

We decided to go for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We arrived at 11:25 am. and got in line. The line rapped around the restaurant. Unfortunately all the pastries were gone at this point, and we were nervous if the food will be worth the wait. When we hit the ordering station, it was 12:15. The line was a long one, so if you plan to come on Sunday, please be prepared for the wait. Also, they assign you a table number while you are in line. This was nice, as I was nervous there wouldn't be any spots for us to sit. I ordered a latte, the pistachio honey latte with oat milk. I also got the eggs Florentine. We also got the Chaps Scramble. Total was around $46 before tip. I'm not sure how I feel about the set up ordering food, and then tipping at the register without knowing the service. It didn't make too much sense to me. After about 15-20 minutes our food came out. The food looked amazing, but honestly it tasted even better. The things that stood out was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was so flavorful and just perfect. The eggs Florentine was great and had mushrooms and fresh vegetables under the eggs. And my latte was perfectly sweet and I can taste the flavors just right. At first we didn't think it would be worth the wait, but honestly I'm so glad we waited. Next time we are in the area, we plan on getting pastries hopefully early enough. We also saw they have a dinner menu, and are really hoping to try that out as well. Overall I will return again, but hoping the line will die down next time.

Cool place in Spokane. My In-Laws recommended it and they were on point. You order up at the counter and they adding you a table so your food can get to you. I was leaning a couple of different ways, but the Chicken Fried Steak was recommended and I was so glad I listened. Easily the best I have ever had and it is a go to for me when it is on the menu.

Highly recommend going here for a good breakfast or brunch. The restaurant is so cute, they have a good seating area inside and outside - old farmhouse style in my opinion. You order at the counter, and then they assign you a spot. The veggie omelet with egg whites was very good, along with the classic with bacon. The Bloody Mary looked incredible, and pastries looked and smelled AMAZING as well, but we were unable to try. I highly recommend going. In a little bit of an isolated area in a grocery store parking lot, but really good + lots of parking.

Enchanting brunch oasis that stole my heart with their tiramisu waffles and plentiful summer flowers seated outside on a gorgeous day. My honey lavender latte was delightful and I thought the menu had the perfect amount of unique options. We went right when they opened on a weekday at 8, but they got busy fast! The inside lighting seemed a bit dark, but all the more reason to enjoy the outer patio area. Our waitress was kind enough to take a photo of my friend and I in front of the charming "love" sign. Just an all around beautiful experience!

Came here a little late. There was barely any pastries left :( but Joey hooked it up with the last maple scone that was left and hiding in the back. He really made my grandmas day. There was a long wait to order but once we did everything was smooth sailing. The food was delish I only could capture a picture of one dish and devoured the Monte Cristo before my phone saw it. I'm leaving Spokane on Tuesday and they will be closed the next two days I'm deviated I didn't come earlier.

Unique ambiance. Baked goods seem good (only got the ginger cookie which was good but didn't have enough ginger flavor/bite to it). You wait in line to order, then they bring you the food. Around $15-20/brunch dish. Easy parking. Right next to Yoke's supermarket.

Love the atmosphere and feel of this cafe! Food was decent and we had a great time. Very family oriented and they even had an outdoor play kitchen!

What can I say but everything exceeded my expectations! From very stylish atmosphere, to excellent staff, ample parking just to start! Then the Menu!!!! Something for everyone! The food being delivered to all of the tables was overwhelming! I wanted to try it all! We had a party of four and we had several different meals and we were all ecstatic over the presentation and quality of our meals! We will definitely be back!!! I want to try EVERYTHING!!!

Food - Day old cinnamon rolls, dry, zero frosting. Food was mediocre. Omelets were lacking cheese and flavor, super bland and dry. Service - their service is horrible, it's gone way down hill since Celeste left. Will definitely never go back. Not worth the one hour+ wait with children screaming and rude and inattentive servers. They messed up our food, didn't apologize and we had to ask to have it corrected. The ordering system is super strange - with the waiting in line, then ordering, then splitting the check - only to have them completely mess it up anyway and manage to type it in incorrectly while we're standing right there. They also lost one of the checks and made us sign it again. Server never checked back on the food, refilled our water or offered us additional beverages. Worst brunch in Spokane. Don't let the long lines fool you, it's a result of poor service not because of how good the food is.

Went to Chaps yesterday for restaurant week. Good thing we arrived at 4:00 as the arrival of patrons increased rapidly. We were the second party seated. When we left there must have been 50 people standing at the entrance. Very open and loud atmosphere. Salmon cakes appetizer with the stuffed chicken entree and lemon cannoli dessert were my picks for my $45 meal. It was enjoyable and flavorful. Their desserts and pastries are the best.

Two big bottles of olive oil in their kitchen in plain sight. Though kitchen claims they have olive oil.

Went there on a weekday morning. The place was not packed at all and their pastry options were very minimal. I ordered a slice of banana bread and brownie. A Mediterranean salad with extra chicken and two mozzarella tomato croissant sandwiches. And another side of chicken. I had requested balsamic and olive oil on the side for my Mediterranean salad since they did not offer the correct dressing for a Mediterranean salad. Several minutes later a server who works there approaches me and says, "I'm sorry our kitchen does not have balsamic vinegar nor do we have olive oil". I looked behind her and all I could see were two huge bottles of olive oil (see photos I have attached). I told her that I would just have my salad plain, and I would go next-door and buy dressing at Yokes. As I continue to wait, I proceeded to nibble on my banana bread and brownie, which were both cold and still thawing. I believe I must've waited 20 minutes for my meal. If I recall correctly, the meal was around 80 bucks. I'm not sure if that included tip or not. When the food arrived, I made sure that I looked through every box to make sure that my order was all there. I noticed that, even though it was a to-go order, even though I paid 15% tip, there were no napkins, condiments or utensils. I did, however notice that the croissant sandwiches had balsamic vinegar in them There was a young woman manager-type running around, and I kindly asked her for some ketchup to go. After waiting patiently for a few more minutes, she came back with one little ramekin. I quickly informed her that this wasn't enough I had two orders that came with an offensive amount of curly fries. This manager literally rolls her eyes and goes back into the kitchen and brings back the big bottle of ketchup and says you know, this will just be easier, you can just pour the ketchup directly on the fries. This is when I lost my cool. I told her that that would not work because I had to travel with this food and by the time I got to my destination, each order would be soggy and just a big mess. I asked her again if she wouldn't mind filling up a few more ramekins. She rolled her eyes again and this time she left for a long time. I couldn't wait any longer so I just left. Without the Ketchup. I've been coming to this place for a few years and I just feel like every time I come here it gets worse and worse. You can tell the people that run this restaurant are not passionate and don't like the customers. The chefs are definitely not passionate. I feel like they just throw food on the plate and call it a day. They also don't care about providing great customer service. And even though it's supposed to be a bakery of some sort, the croissants that our sandwiches came in were definitely from Costco. Unfortunately, I will never be coming here again. Not gonna waste my money and be treated poorly a second time.

Food is good but this place had a line out the door for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Not going back.

Hey! Does anyone know what kind of oats are used in their oatmeal? Seriously the best I ever had, and it was over a year ago!

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.
