We love Doyle's!! They have the best homemade icecream and the best homemade waffle cones! We look forward to visiting every year!

The butter Brickle may be the world's best. I'm not exaggerating. All there ice cream is hand made.

I had the coconut and raspberry cheesecake ice cream. It's homemade!

This place is a hidden gem! It's hard to come across classic ice cream parlors like these anymore. This place has been here since 1939! They have many unique ice cream flavors such a root beer float flavor, candy corn, and pumpkin cheesecake! I like how they have seasonal flavors that they switch up throughout the year! All of the ice cream is homemade and it's very creamy! The proportions were HUGE! They also offer nice outdoor seating to enjoy your ice cream. Chris, the owner, was very kind and helpful! Thank you Doyle's!

I'm coming from out of town and was looking forward to having huckleberry ice cream from sweet peaks, but they were closed so I was so excited to try a new place. Come to find out, they are not open when they say they are.

Great little ice cream parlor. Feels like you're stepping back into time. Tons of great flavors to choose from. Very nice friendly family that owns it. We tried the banana split, a shake and had individual scoops. Favorite flavor was the pistachio almond.

I could tell there was still plenty of time to get a scoop before 8PM. At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem.

It had a couple long freezers of ice cream as well as a decorated case. The young guy who helped us was nice and gave good service. I got a double scoop in a cup of Cherry Garcia and Berry Berry Extraordinary. Cherry Garcia is what you expect it to be if you're familiar with Ben & Jerry's and Berry Berry Extraordinary was new to me and had to try it. It was a pretty tasty sorbet. My friend got a strawberry limeade smoothie. He said all he tasted was tart and limeade. He didn't taste any strawberry, which I agree because I tasted it and it definitely lacked strawberries. The decorated case was full and looked pretty good, but we didn't get anything from it. My 3 gripes are: 1) my double scoop looked like a junior scoop at best, 2) it was $16 bucks and it was a lack of value and quality regarding the smoothie, and 3) they had all the flavors you're familiar with but sorely lacked any fruity type offerings. Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

There is also public use bathrooms that aren't port a potties, in side stores that require patronage, or generally nonexistent like most outdoor farmers markets. Fresh flowers, produce, salsas, bread, baked goods, local brews/ciders, jewelry, artwork, and more is there to peruse. The market always has great variety but I go mainly for two things; Fetch Dog Bakery and Big Daddy's Honey. Occasionally I will partake at the Scone Ranger as well but it's the English toffee I'm perpetually out of luck on (they did say you can call the a few days before and say you are coming to the market and would like a certain flavor). Their other flavors are enticing too. My mother in law loves the orange cranberry. Fetch Dog Bakery is so adorable and if you weren't paying close enough attention to the little trailer, you'd think their delicious offerings were of the human variety. Granted, there are options for humans but it's intent is to be a great place to get really affordable and fresh treat options for your pets. Plus, their clientele (aka all kinds of dogs) is always fun to watch "shop". I usually get the 4 for $3 little flavored doggie bagels. Our dogs love them! Then I head down to Big Daddy's Honey and I get a jar of spun honey. If you've never had spun honey, I highly recommend it! It is the perfect companion to so many things; donuts, fry bread, biscuits, waffles, crepes, spoonful in tea, the list goes on and on. You just want to make sure to store correctly so it doesn't separate. My niece was a big big fan of the Lush Cotton Candy. It's customizable and every kid's confectionery dream. It that was big enough to share with her cousins but didn't because those were her chosen flavors and colors.
