I live in Spokane. Always thought The Scoop was kind of mid, but I had a friend in town who wanted ice cream so we came tonight to get some. There was a long line, but not too bad. I could tell there was still plenty of time to get a scoop before 8PM. At 7:43 PM, one of the workers came out from behind the counter and told about 10-15 of us in line that we would have to leave because they close at 8. She was very kind about it, and she kept saying "I hate having to do this," but it made absolutely no sense. She arbitrarily split the line, and decided some people could stay, but said the rest of us (5 girls ahead of us, and 7-8 people behind us) had to go. Mind you, the girls in front of us and our group were ALREADY IN THE SHOP. Everyone looked really confused, understandably. I've literally never had this happen to me before. I held up my phone to show the worker the time, and I said, "Its only 7:43. We have 17 minutes before closing." Others said, "but we're already in the shop" or "but we've been waiting in line for a while." None of this made any difference. We all still had to leave. Even though there was plenty of time to get everyone ice cream. And god-forbid they have to keep working until 8:05 or 8:10 to make sure patrons who waited in line could get ice cream. What kind of shop does this?? How is this acceptable? "Bad customer service" puts it mildly. I could spell out a million other better ways this could have been done. Do better, Scoop. Spokane already struggles in the ice-cream shop department. Please be a part of the solution, not the problem. read more

Yummy ice cream! Strawberry lemonade sorbet and strawberry rhubarb ice cream were both delicious. Service was great!!! We first got to sample the flavors that we picked . It's a nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy our treat. Would return if in the area. read more

The food was amazing. I don't see that they have bagels on here, but that's what we came to try and it was great. They have a huge variety of bagels and cream cheeses. We decided to try a sandwich (turkey pesto) and also a Jalapeño cheddar bagel. I will say the wait was extremely long. We had to wait for our food for about 30 minutes after ordering. I'll preface this with saying the young lady who dismissed us and 10+ others from the line was very sweet and just doing what she was told most likely. But, there was a line of 10+ people waiting, and at 7:43, with 17 minutes before closing we were asked to leave because shop was closing. Turning away customers INSIDE shop who've waited in line with 17 minutes until closing is wild. They weren't out of icecream. She said because they were closing at 8 all of the people to a certain point in the line had to leave. Again, with 17 mins until closing... staff couldn't have scooped ice-cream and serviced us and then closed doors at 8? Or at least serviced the rest of the people inside the shop then closed doors? The Scoop is absolutely one of the best ice cream parlors I've ever visited. For comparison, it is easily on par with creameries such as Salt & Straw, Jeni's, and McConnell's. What makes them so special is that they get the fundamentals right time and time again. Their bases are always creamy and never icy. The tastes are consistently true to the advertised flavors. Mix-in game is on point. And the aroma of freshly-made cones is impossible to ignore. Plus, every time I've been, they have had an impressive number of new flavors to try. To add to that, the staff is always kind, patient, and willing to explain flavor combinations. Price is average for a walk-in ice cream shop. "Kids" scoop (really a regular sized scoop) is $3.50 which includes a cake or sugar cone. A fresh waffle cone is a little more. What's unique is that you can get a "baby" scoop for $1.50, which is really nice if you just want to quench that sweet tooth without cheating on the diet. On the other hand, you can get a "tween" scoop, which is a baby scoop on top of a kids scoop for $4. The Scoop's top-notch quality makes it one of the best ice cream parlors in town. Kind of a hipster vibe. The marshmallow munchie was potato-chippy with chocolate. The grammas loved the strawberry mango sorbet. The root beer float and the strawberry milkshake also got great reviews. Nice places to sit to enjoy the tasty treats! read more

Im super glad another ice cream shop opened up here in Kendall! This place just recently opened up for people to come in, and they still had a large array of flavors! I got nutella and huckleberry (i think), and both were very good. You could tell they used fresh fruit and the texture was very creamy! It was a bit pricey, as this small cup was a little over $5. I love ice-cream and this place has some great flavors. Everything from the banoffee pie to the twinkleberry, you can't go wrong. There have been flavors I got and was uncertain about how good it would be and they ended up being really good. The flavors change daily which keeps it interesting and makes you sad because you lose some of your faves. They usually make a comeback and it's never a bad idea to grab a pint when you spot one you can't be without Besides all the sweet flavors of ice-cream, the people serving it up are just as sweet. This is the cutest little ice cream shop across the street from an elementary school with great homemade ice cream. Unfortunately, the customer service has gone way downhill. The staff doesn't greet you and seem annoyed to help you. I went in with my grand children at 1 PM on a weekday when the place was empty. The gal who served us was so annoyed to wait while my grandsons chose their flavor of ice cream. It's too bad, looking at and talking about all the flavors for a little one is half the fun.
