Green Day and the Oshinko Maki Roll

The service was very nice and quick she was a lovely lady and helped keep our space clean. The restaurant was very clean and nice would be a great place to take photos of you were into that type of thing. The food was amazing and all fresh nothing was frozen or old. They had an amazing vegetarian menu for those who don't eat meat or fish, I often find it hard to find new veggie rolls and they had plenty :)

Corner restaurant on clybourn kitty corner from Barnes and noble . We were pleasantly welcomed and seated , early dinner around 5:45pm on Thursday. There was no one except the 3 of us and a lot of carry out order's.We ordered a whole bunch of stuff... salmon teriyaki, sushi, Thai green curry (spicy) which hit the spot absolutely delicious! and chicken Chicken pad Thai . The curry was so spicy we had to Order Thai iced tea , which calmed the mouth in a good way. We liked the curry so much got a to go order as well. I thought portion sizes were a tad bit small and the sushi could have been better. Overall a decent place for a quick meal.

My favorite Thai restaurant!!!!! I am working on sampling as much of the menu as I possibly can.

Order Directly on Their Web Site-Easy to do and free food and fantastic deals! 2022

I ordered via Grubhub and once again was MORE THAN VERY SATISFIED with the Sushi that I ordered. The driver gave me a coupon for 15% off +$5.00 off my next order if I ordered DIRECTLY on-line from the Restaurant's website. SO I DID! I would encourage other Yelpers and Non-Yelpers to do so. The restaurant offers perks-like if you order a specific monetary value of food you can choose from a free maki roll or entree. Example: 15% off your FIRST ORDER and $5.00 off your order with COUPON CODE: YUM555! My most recent favorite and unique maki from their menu: The Mexican Maki (Located under "Specialty Rolls" on the Menu). What is it? A maki roll composed of=shrimp tempura, cilantro, jalapeno, avocado, masago, and spicy mayo, drizzled with unagi sauce. You can order a side of Spicy Mayo too if you want more. The flavors were very vibrant and the jalapeno kick was smoothed out with the cilantro and avocado which really made me realize-THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE. FYI-When I ordered on their website-they estimated 60 minutes for delivery-BUT MY FOOD ARRIVED IN LESS THAN 30! Yay!

One of my favorite hidden gems in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. I originally found them via GrubHub and become one of my go to sushi places ever since. I've eaten in a few times and the owner is extremely nice! It's a small contemporary place where everyone is greeted with a warm welcome. Check them out!

My absolute favorite sushi spot! I love the owners and am friends with them on IG. They are just lovely people and always treat me like a celebrity. The food is SCRUMPTIOUS and nicely priced. It's definitely authentic. I miss living closer and going weekly. I'm downtown now so it's harder. They're forever phenomenal!! Thank you all for the love and I'm happy to always take photos with you when I visit. :)

Volcano roll and spicy tuna maki roll

I ordered the volcano roll which comes with a spicy mayo sauce, and a spicy tuna maki roll for delivery. I was happy with this order and the quality and size of the rolls are worth your money. The volcano roll was delicious and paired with the spicy mayo sauce made it creamy and flavorful. Would definitely order this again. I've also had a number of spicy tuna rolls at other establishments and this one is satisfactory. Great customer service! Food prep/delivery was quick.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Miru…read more We were visiting Chicago for a short trip, and with so many excellent dining options, choosing where to eat wasn't easy. I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

It's all about the views!…read more Miru is one of the newer sushi restaurants relatively uncompetitive sushi scene in Chicago, and it hits the spots for those interested in classy ambience and jaw dropping views. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

Overall, the fish was fresh and…read morewell-prepared--nothing particularly mind-blowing, but definitely good quality, especially for a more affordable omakase option. My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. The 20 courses were well-paced and the quality was consistent throughout. Nigiri and sashimi were pristine, but the hot dishes were equally impressive, which surprised me. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect. I left genuinely impressed. Highly recommend if you're looking for a serious sushi experience in Chicago!!!
