I found the restaurant on Grub Hub and ordered delivery. The hamachi serrano was...to die for. A great piece of fish--tender, sweet, fresh. It would have been good just by itself, but the serrano and daikon and ponzu made it shine even brighter, without overpowering it. Absolutely worth the price, IMO; great fish costs money. I also ordered the Veggie Monster, and I am in love. My last couple of sushi meals have been "meh," so thank you for this, good luck, and I will order again as often as I can. read more

Was looking for a sushi spot in the neighborhood and so glad I went to AMORE Sushi! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not very busy at all, even after a cubs game. The restaurant was super clean, had cute decor and service was quick. We ordered the chicken kaarage, Godzilla Roll and a Sake Don bowl. All were delicious and the fish was good quality. Pretty good spot to check out if you want sushi in the area. read more

We came a few months ago for my birthday - we were the only guests dining on a Monday night. We tried a few of the veggie maki rolls and enjoyed the variety of options. I can't remember a favorite but all were lovely, with some differences so it didn't feel like eating the same. I appreciate that they have so many ways to make us vegetarians happy here. read more

We ordered through Uber Eats and it was pretty good. We tried: - Pork Chashu Don - Snowing Ramen - Chicken Karage - Rainbow The pork was a bit tough, but overall each was good. The rice in the don bowl was fluffy and flavorful. I wouldn't say the ramen was spicy, but was solid. Plenty of spices to keep it interesting. The sushi tasted fresh and like that the Rainbow had several options to taste. read more

There were so many options and I couldn't decide which to try. So we opted for some sets to get a taste of different sashimis - amore's favorites and deluxe sushi. Sashimi were really fresh, and both came with miso soups. The service was also really fast!! Our server was super attentive and welcoming. This is a solid place for any sushi lovers who like classic sushi. Plus that it's a lowkey, quiet place to enjoy your sushi! Btw - there is free parking on Broadway. The restaurant is cozy, with a minimalist vibe. There are red lanterns and some wall art. Not overdone, and feels modern. Music is hip and plays at a reasonable volume. For food, I ordered the "Snow White" and "Adult Only" Maki's, and an Unagi Nigiri. The eel nigiri was great! The rice was excellent, and the eel wasn't only savory as can be, but lightly roasty and smoky tasting! This isn't the grocery store microwaved variety! Not drowning in sauce, either! With the Adult Only: It has a little heat, some solid crunch, freshness, even just a little hint of sweetness. Now, while some pieces have less salmon within than others, the tuna on top more than makes up for it. Finally, when I happily devour half before trying with soy sauce, that is a testament to how good this roll is. The Snow White was not as much of a winner. It felt as though the flavors and textures of the pieces were overpowered by the rice and jalapeño (by texture, not so much heat). It also felt like the rice got more sear than the white tuna, which ended up bland instead of roasted. The service also could have been just a touch better. I felt it could have been a little more attentive in terms of water and checking in. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. Finally, where it comes to value, the prices are a little up there, but in return you get a solid portion of ample sized pieces. Thus, while I will likely not order the Snow White again, I would be happy to come back to order the Adult Only, as well as try some more of their offerings. read more

Was really craving sushi and this place is down the street so figured I'd try it with the high reviews! Unfortunately it was pretty overpriced ($27 for crispy tuna rice and a spicy salmon roll) and was very underwhelming. The salmon roll didn't taste very fresh or spicy which was disappointing. Had to make a sauce for the crispy tuna to make it better. On the bright side it was done quickly and service was friendly! Maybe it was just an off day read more

Wednesday night 1 hour before closing, walked in and was closed out. I asked why and with a smirk I was told not enough staff. What type of top notch restaurant doesn't have staff? The staff there was smirky and laughing at the fact I was asking about it. Like we closed kitchen it was slow ...so what and smirk. I highly review this place but for this to happen to me as a local and fan favorite.... I won't send anyone and I'll make sure others know about this experience. read more

Tried to place an order via DoorDash. I have an avocado allergy and when I tried to make a request not to have any avocado received a message that they don't take special requests. Avocado is not on the list of items you can modify. Can't say whether or not they are a good restaurant as I decided against ordering from a restaurant you can't notify via the ordering app food allergies/sensitivities. read more

we didn't even have the chance to eat here after driving across the city for the destination. we were greeted by a hostess wearing a white tshirt with SHUT THE FUCK UP written in large red block lettering. being the only ones in the restaurant we didn't expect to have to ask to order upon an extensive wait nor to be told they were out of soft shell crab, bao buns & who knows what else after we tried ordering these. decided to drive to tipparos in the gold coast instead. read more

Good food. Good service. My kids love this place, especially their pot stickers! You can legally park in Chase Bank lot.

Sushi is great! Monday night special is on point- buy 2 get 1 free. We have been there several times and always enjoyed out meal. That said and the servers could care less, about you. They spend most of the time sitting by the desk, and you have to get up if you want a refill or anything, which I don't particularly mind but in a world where going out to eat is getting more and more expensive and we are expected to tip at 20% I'd like actual service for my $20 bucks and I absolutly hate someone who I have not seen for most of my meal hovering over me for a tip at the end of it with their handheld. We loved our Sushi Rolls and Ramen. All delicious. Added a little extra spice helps. Service was just okay.

Came on a weekend at 1PM. Place was empty. Took several attempts to find a seat that was clean. There was an ecosystem of flies buzzing around us the entire meal. Service was unenthusiastic and the food was not good. Edamame was mealy and dry, clearly not fresh. Fries tofu was soggy and greasy. Price was jaw-dropping. Sad because we loved this place. Hopefully this was just a bad day. read more

Travelled a distance for this fairly new sushi restaurant in the heart of the LGBTQ community of Chicago and for the most part, it didn't disappoint. First off, I wish it was advertised more visibly there was free parking nearby on broadway. Had to walk about 5 city blocks to get here in 32F weather. Understandably, we were a little rushed as they were closing in an hour upon our arrival but they still managed to serve us amazing looking and tasting dishes. The interior was well decorated and the plating for each dish look meticulously prepared, which was noticed and appreciated. I was not too pleased there were fish bones in my Sashimi considering the price paid for the 15 pieces. If it hadn't been for that, this would be a 5 star review. Prices for this place is definitely on the pricier side for sushi so don't come here if you're looking to save some dollars. I'd like to come back and try their Omakase which was reasonably priced at $56.95 for 9 courses. read more

Great new addition to the neighborhood! The staff at Amore is super friendly and welcoming, and the interior decor is simplistic and cozy. My only negative is all the hand written signs on the outside facade are a little odd and tacky looking....when we arrived we weren't sure if they were open as we could not see inside beyond these signs. They are also BYOB which is awesome. And the food does NOT disappoint! They have a huge menu with many unique offerings. We had a variety of rolls and appetizers and the portions were plenty. I also personally love the fact they have many veggie rolls to select from, and creative ones at that. We all left super full, and will certainly be back! read more

Anode is a great addition to the area! It is pretty standard for sushi places, but good. We got a salmon avocado roll, the volcano roll, and the No name roll. All were very good! I think the No name and volcano were the best! This is a place to stick to the rolls. The nigiri is pretty expensive. However the fish did taste very fresh and was cut properly. This place didn't blow me away, but was very solid and I do intend on coming back! read more

I like this place, food is good, consistent. Great place to go for dinner. Awful delivery. 1/2 or better of all deliveries have some issue, calling the restaurant, if you can get through, is an exercise in frustration. read more

As someone with food allergies, I would strongly caution others before ordering from this restaurant. I placed a DoorDash order for a roll that was clearly labeled as "vegan." While I'm not vegan, I often choose vegan options to avoid dairy due to my allergy. To be safe, I called the restaurant to confirm there wouldn't be any cross-contamination and explained my dietary restriction. To my surprise, they told me I should not order the roll labeled vegan -- because it might contain dairy. This is not only misleading, but potentially dangerous for anyone relying on accurate labeling due to medical needs. read more

My roommate and I ordered a bunch of sushi for takeout. Usually takeout food isn't great, but this sushi was AMAZING!!!! Especially for traveling??! We definitely will be back in person & I will absolutely become a regular here and also be addicted to ordering takeout sushi. This is now my #1 go to sushi spot- no hesitation. Literally the best sushi. We ordered the following: * Vegetable gyoza * 2 Philly rolls * Spicy salmon * Shrimp tempura maki * Sweet potato tempura maki * Godzilla * Crazy salmon One thing about me is that I'll always order a sweet potato roll. This was THE best sweet potato roll I've ever had. It was warm and the unagi sauce was amazing. Plus the seaweed - ugh, yum! And not to mention the size of the roll for only $7?!?! ALL rolls were fresh and absolutely delicious, even the simple ones. Perfectly balanced, tasted like premium sushi. The prices are so good, even the special rolls for what you get. I can't rave about this place enough!! read more

I really liked the attentive service by both our server, staff, and the owner who came out to ask how everything was. This place is hands down great! It's BYOB, and the sushi I ordered was fantastic. It was slightly on the pricier end, but what hasn't gone up in price lately? I really liked the aesthetic of my plate with mini volcano and steam (or dried ice) around it. I'd definitely come back! The friendly people here alone would make me return. Will be back! read more

Beyond impressed with this new sushi spot in East Lakeview/Wrigleyville area. Creative rolls, great service, and BYOB! Read about their opening in a neighborhood group a while ago and finally decided to check this gem out on Tuesday. After my experience, my only complaint is to myself that I didn't come here sooner. There are a ton of sushi options in the area, but this place takes the cake! We sat outside, and we're immediately greeted with a smile and informed on Monday and Tuesdays they have a special: buy two rolls, get one free. This was great bc everything looked so good we wanted to try it all. I typically stick to my regular order across all sushi restaurants, but this special gave me the opportunity to branch out. We opted for the Cubs, Pompeii, and threesome. Each one was handcrafted with beautiful presentation. The fish was fresh and the marrying of ingredients was out of this world. I've found my new regular sushi spot in the neighborhood, and I can't wait to come back. read more

I had been wanting to try Amore because I'm in need a good local sushi spot. And this place was PERFECT! All of the plating for their dishes and (even the sake) was beautiful. We will be coming back for sure! read more

Absolutely delicious. Crispy rice with spicy tuna was a treat. They also have these dine-in only nigiri that they do. Tried a new sushi place in the neighborhood and so glad we did! Mondays and Tuesdays are buy 2 rolls, get 1 free. Such a steal honestly. For three people, we ordered: edamame, crispy rice spicy tuna x2, spider roll, Chicago cubs, Snow White, crazy salmon, pattaya, and the Pompeii maki. All were delicious! I thought the number of pieces were great and had really good flavor. Whatever the sauce on the Chicago cubs roll plate was so good for that and all of the other rolls too. It's a relatively smaller place but wasn't too busy - maybe because we came on a weekday or people prefer take out. Service was good and presentations of the rolls were beautifully done! I'd definitely come back to try more of their food. We told our server it was my girlfriend's birthday and they surprised her with a little choco pie and some mochi ice cream! (Drunken singing) When the sushi hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's Amore! (Record scratching sound) Wait a minute! Those aren't the words! I'm not Dean Martin and I don't drink! And where can I buy a phonograph? And what is a phonograph? (Record scratching sound again) I got on some strange tangents there. Sorry. (Review writing sound?) Amore is relatively new to the world and very new to me. The ambience and precision is very high here. Veggie rolls are rolled tightly, the rice is excellent, and they taste as good as they look. My favorite was actually the oshinko roll, with its unusually crisp pickled radish: simple and effective. The owner might walk around and greet you at your table. Thanks, Ronald. I will give them a try again and I hope that you have that chance as well. read more
