Solid takeout spot for Korean food. My head was a BIBIBOP. I thought it was light and refreshing with all the vegetables and we enjoyed the fried on top. They have good deals on DoorDash so definitely take advantage of that! The fried chicken was also nice and flavorful a little bit spicy, but nothing too bad
Every now and then I'll get an intense craving for a cheesy tteokbokki with just the right amount of sweet & spicy. I'll usually resort to making it myself but now that I know this spot is right around the corner, I officially have a new takeout spot in the rotation! Since the prices were so reasonable I decided to try the sweet & sour fried chicken (Yang Nyum Chicken) as well and it was every bit as delicious. Definitely a solid spot, no frills, just straight up good food that speaks for itself.
So YUMMY. Doesn't look like much because it's a small American Asian place but as soon as I walked in and heard them playing Jesus music, I knew that food was gonna be authentic (and it was). Only sad that my bibimbap did not come with mushrooms. lol. It was low-maintenance, delicious, affordable, and I was very happy with our decision to eat here. Service was very attentive. Will be back.
What an incredible restaurant and such a hidden gem so close to Wrigley Field! I was walking around the area with my family and we decided to grab dinner here. We weren't sure what to expect. There was no wait time and the server was so nice and helpful. We ended up ordering a lot of food. We got the crispy tofu, bacon kimchi fried rice, kimmari, bul dak and some other items I forgot the name of. The bul dak is a deep fried boneless chicken in spicy chili pepper sauce. It was so good and tender! I would come back for this item alone. The bacon fried rice and appetizers hit the spot. Everything was delicious, no complaints at all. The restaurant is a good size and brings a nice vibe to it when you enter. A bunch of photos on the wall which I think was when they were on tv. Overall, a fun dining experience and can't wait to be back. Thank you Rice'N Bread!
First time alert! Learned about Rice N' Bread via DoorDash searching for bulgogi First, I like that you can custom your order as I prefer no carrots and that's an option to remove. The food arrived during the delivery slot, kinda cold but warmed up in the microwave. The portion size was enough to share or have leftovers, the beer wasn't as seasoned as I've had before but good, definitely order the egg rolls, and a side of kimchi for some kick! I'll definitely be a return order-er!
The restaurant has an interesting blend of Korean and American food. We tried: - Kimmari - Beef Bulgogi - Yang Nyum Chicken - RnB Burger My favorite was the Kimmari - a fried seaweed and noodle wrap. The rest weren't bad, the portions were big and the price was very reasonable. I'd probably not go with the burger next time as it was just ok compared to the rest.
Really enjoyed the Korean fried chicken! It was made fresh and had great flavor. Would definitely come back to order it again. Dukkboki was alright, a little chewy for my taste. Menu is huge and a bit overwhelming
Reasonably affordable Korean and American food near Wrigley Field. The Dolsot Bibimbap was the winner. It smelled good, tasted good, and looked appealing. The serving was on the smaller side but not scanty although it was a bit short on meat. The spicy KFC was spicy, the serving was large, and the chicken chunks were thighs (that's a good thing)but it tasted more like spicy sweet and sour chicken than KFC. I was expecting that the vegetable it was served with would be the traditional daikon and carrot but it was a scoop of finely shredded raw cabbage drizzled with Thousand Island dressing. The biggest problem I had was with the timing. Our orders were taken quickly and the bibimbap came soon after. My partner had finished his meal before mine arrived. Nothing much to say about the ambiance. It looks like an urban luncheonette which is exactly what it is. I would return but I'd skip the KFC.
This establishment offers high-quality cuisine, and I recommend their spicy soup and rice bowls. The service is consistently courteous and attentive.
My FAVORITE KIMCHI JIGGAE in Chicago. And to make things even better, they offer awesome standard American diner/breakfast foods. Seriously, this place is a must-go for lovers of authentic Korean food and people looking to try something new. Love the service and love the cleanliness. I will absolutely be back. - AD
Food: for the price, pretty good Korean soup & stews close to the city, hard to find places that aren't just kbbq. Service: nice staff, looks like a great takeout or delivery place Ambiance: wasn't too crowded when I went on a Saturday, they have a cute photo wall of patrons
One of the best Korean places in Chicago! The jjigaes are amazing whether hot or cold out. If desired there's a way to add more spice if that's your preference. The soondubu jjigae is loaded with ingredients, mainly tofu, and can easily be made into two meals. The tteokbokki is also delicious and if you take it to go they give you plenty of sauce that you can reuse foe another meal. Despite being incredibly busy and only having one server they were very efficient and the waiter made sure to listen to everyone's requests. The food also came out really fast. The restaurant is on the smaller side so can get crowded really fast but it adds to the authenticity hearing them tell orders and hear the kitchen cook your food.
We decided to come here for dinner. Unfortunately, tonight's experience ended up being not that great. I ordered the tofu bibimbap. I specifically told the waitress to put the beef mandoo on the side. I expected the mandoo to be on a separate plate. When the bowl came I saw the beef mandoo inside the bowl not on a separate plate. I started having an anxiety attack. Question: Who serves beef or any type of meat to a vegetarian? Why do that? For the next 10 minutes the waitress tried to convince me that this bowl was a new order. I told her I can't trust you. The bowl looked the same. I got the feeling that she or the chef took off the two mandoos off and gave me the same bowl. I felt disgusted. I told the waitress I did not want it anymore as I lost my appetite. Joseph ordered his meal. At least he ate a full meal whereas I left hungry. When the bill came, they charged us for the bowl I sent back. The waitresses had no choice but to take off that said meal from the bill. I felt that they wanted to punish us by charging us for the food I did not even eat. Seriously? I found that disturbing.
So delicious!! A great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a nice big portion. Even though it was a hot day, I'm so happy I tried the yetcamein. It was so savory and peppery, just perfect with a generous amount of chicken. Service was quick and friendly. I would love to come back next time I'm in Chicago. read more
Brown Gravy after sixty minutes of Sculpt. Ain't nothing but a G' thang! After my failed bid for eleven bachelors to join me for Korean Breakfast, I decidedly iso-ed this savory side quest. Ordering quickly, it was the lone television's replay of Cagliari vs Lecce that welcomed my sweet moment of solitude. That's worth its weight in gold during a Bachelor Party weekend, remember that. Beyond the bomb brown gravy - and bomb it was - sat an egg of high fashion. Every bit the yolk that evades my creation no matter how hard I try. This was a morning meal that widened my taste bud horizons. I'm better for it. If you're not a hermit of habit, come try something different the next time you need to fight off that habitual hangover. read more

We came in last week and grabbed some takeout. Takeout was quick and easy and the hostess was very nice. First we got the Bibimbap, which was a fried egg, bulgogi beef, veggies and rice. It had really great flavor and delicious sauce with it, but there was not very much meat. Next we tried the R&B burger with marinated beef & pork, Swiss cheese and a pretzel bun. It was pretty good and a great price at $10, there was an option to add carmelized kimchi which we want to try next time! Finally we had the DanDak Korean style fried chicken which was our favorite! read more

I ordered takeout from here and the food was delicious. It tastes very authentic to the Korean food I had while living in Korea! The tteokbokki is spicy and sweet and the rice cakes are firm. I do wish the rice cakes were soaked in the sauce a bit more so they weren't so firm. The dandak chicken is sweet and slightly savory. If you're looking for a casual, tasty, and authentic bite, this place is for you. read more

This place smells so good. The menu is nice and diverse. Mainly Korean fare, then burgers and breakfast with a Korean twist ( Eggs with the bulgogi) I was honestly going right for the Bulgogi but then the waitress brings out an order or Korean Fried Chicken to the the table and it just looked and smelled so good, like some of my fav Korean Fried Chicken places in Honolulu. Oh then they brought some jigae out, on my list for next time. It's quaint with a open kitchen, so you can smell what cooking. So yeah, the buldak KFC was so tasty and spicy but like perfect balance. It made me sweat a bit but did not burn my mouth while retaining distinct flavors. Great Texture, crispy and saucy but the meat inside juicy and tender. Nice portions too. I have enough for lunch! Definitely coming back to try their breakfast and lunch offerings and probably dinner. ... I totally left a draft unpublished. Terrible. Continuing a month later. Still tasty. Got the sweet soy sauce kfc, dandak and the Mrs got tofu Bulgogi. Still tasty. read more
Literally a hole in the wall by Wrigley with zero glamour but cheap pricing. not easy to find cheap food by Wrigley Our host/server/busgirl Gia ordered for me. What came out was Buldak. Crispy, boneless, spicy, sweet, dark meat fried chicken with a hint of curry - amazing! It was almost enough to feed two. My best friend/wife got the beef bibimbap it was fine. Both were around $13 you really can't complain. Recommended read more

Maybe my experience would have been different if I ate in restaurant, but I Doordashed a bibimbap and fried seaweed roll. Delivery was pretty quick, around 30 minutes, however I found the food to be underwhelming. The bibimbap is 90% rice and had maybe 2 tablespoons of beef (which was delicious). Most of the topping were bean sprouts and spinach. I was happy to see a runny egg but the rice also tasted overcooked. The fried seaweed rolls were ok, again, not sure if delivery made them soggy but they didn't taste like much. I might try them again if I eat in restaurant but as my first time trying them through delivery, I'm not super impressed. read more
We wanted to grab a quick dinner in Wrigleyville before a concert and stumbled upon Rice'N Bread, and was pleasantly surprised. It is a small restaurant, but almost every table was occupied and a steady of stream of take out orders. The menu is extensive offering Korean and American dishes. We shared the Yang Nyum Chicken and Beef Bulgogi Bawl.....( not misspelled) with an extra side of rice. The portions were huge. The Yang Nyum Chicken was my favorite. The chicken was tender and the sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The chicken came with rice and a side salad. The dressing on the salad was so good, it was a Yum Yum sauce and we asked for extra for the rice. The Bulgogi Bawl, also was a large portion of rice with tender beef topped with an egg. Service was excellent, the servers were so kind. This was a pleasant surprise and it definately recommend. read more
There I was, walking a barely a mile or so from Wrigley Field when the can't-miss aroma of Asian cooking caught my nose and attention. I turned around and saw the storefront of this mom-and-pop establishment. And the deal maker? The bibimbap. I rarely have bibimbap -- the last time I ate it was five or six years ago -- and when I do, I leave the eatery satisfied. Granted, I'm going to add Rice'N Bread to the very small list of places that do the revered Korean staple right. The kitchen staff found a way to have the rice, vegetables, beef, and egg join forces together. I added some hot sauce for good measure. Before I knew it, I was scraping the bottom of my bowl. Those who chance upon Rice'N Bread will be treated kindly by a woman I assumed is the owner. That's a rarity for a hole in the wall Korean place. read more
This is the best Korean food place anywhere close to Wrigley! Perfect for an after-game meal, very affordable for the portion size, and we were sat immediately on a Saturday. I recommend the original Korean fried chicken over the other fried chicken options, but it seems like you can't really go wrong here. read more
My brother and I tried rice n bread and I will say it was a different experience. The food seemed to be all over the board. The quality was good but it seemed that it didn't have an identity. The service was okay seemed inconsistent. Our server didnt check in much. The atmosphere was really nice. We like all the pictures on the walls. read more

First Impressions: Rice 'N Bread has a nice, family-owned vibe that definitely gives off the feeling of being a local spot. It's a place where you feel like you're supporting a community. Taste: The food was just okay overall. The Pork Sundubu satisfied my craving for Korean stew, though it was less flavorful compared to similar dishes I've had in LA or San Diego. The R&B Galbi Burger was also just okay--besides the meat, the rest of the burger felt a bit bland with nothing particularly standing out. The Dandak tasted like chicken nuggets and needed the dumpling dipping sauce for a flavor boost. The Crispy Mandoo (dumplings) was likely from Costco, but it was the best part of the meal, with nice crispy edges. Cost: Pricing was fair for a local spot. With the amount of food we got, definitely worth it! Service: The service was friendly, and the place feels homey, which matches the overall local, down-to-earth vibe. Extras: It's worth checking out if you want to support a local business, but it's best to go in with modest expectations. read more
4.5 stars: My friends and I stopped by Rice N' Bread at around 8pm on a weeknight. It's a small space and there were only a couple other patrons there, so we were seated immediately. The service and staff were truly so sweet, kind, and hospitable-- they created a really personable, intimate experience for us. As their motto suggests, they serve a lot of traditional American dishes, from burgers to omelettes, with a Korean / Asian twist, in addition to some traditional Korean dishes like jji-gae and bulgogi. I ordered the Seafood Sundubu Jji-gae, which came with a bowl of rice and small plates of kimchi and a pickled vegetable. The soup itself was hearty, aromatic, and slightly spicy, with rich and bold flavors. The silky tofu was delicious, had a wonderfully contrasting texture and mouthfeel to the other broth ingredients, and came in generous portions. Overall, would recommend this place, especially for the friendly service! read more
