What an incredible restaurant and such a hidden gem so close to Wrigley Field! I was walking around the area with my family and we decided to grab dinner here. We weren't sure what to expect. There was no wait time and the server was so nice and helpful. We ended up ordering a lot of food. We got the crispy tofu, bacon kimchi fried rice, kimmari, bul dak and some other items I forgot the name of. The bul dak is a deep fried boneless chicken in spicy chili pepper sauce. The serving was on the smaller side but not scanty although it was a bit short on meat. The spicy KFC was spicy, the serving was large, and the chicken chunks were thighs (that's a good thing)but it tasted more like spicy sweet and sour chicken than KFC. I was expecting that the vegetable it was served with would be the traditional daikon and carrot but it was a scoop of finely shredded raw cabbage drizzled with Thousand Island dressing. The biggest problem I had was with the timing. Our orders were taken quickly and the bibimbap came soon after. My partner had finished his meal before mine arrived. One of the best Korean places in Chicago! The jjigaes are amazing whether hot or cold out. If desired there's a way to add more spice if that's your preference. The soondubu jjigae is loaded with ingredients, mainly tofu, and can easily be made into two meals. The tteokbokki is also delicious and if you take it to go they give you plenty of sauce that you can reuse foe another meal. Despite being incredibly busy and only having one server they were very efficient and the waiter made sure to listen to everyone's requests. The food also came out really fast. The restaurant is on the smaller side so can get crowded really fast but it adds to the authenticity hearing them tell orders and hear the kitchen cook your food. read more

Delivery was pretty quick, around 30 minutes, however I found the food to be underwhelming. The bibimbap is 90% rice and had maybe 2 tablespoons of beef (which was delicious). Most of the topping were bean sprouts and spinach. I was happy to see a runny egg but the rice also tasted overcooked. The Pan Jeon Korean-style seafood pancake was absolutely perfect--moist seafood and a very crispy pancake. Dulsot Bibimbop was also about as good as it gets, with a mix of veggies and the protein of your choice on top of rice, in a searingly hot metal bowl guaranteed to turn the rice crispy on the bottom. I've had bibimbap at multiple places around Chicago and the tofu bibimbap at rice n bread has to be my favorite of all time. The tofu was cooked and marinated perfectly and was very tasty. The egg and everything else in the dish complimented it well. I will be going back here again to try out some of their other dishes soon too.
