I'm going to echo most if not all of the other reviewers here. I took my 2006 Jetta in for service at OnTrack (my regular mechanic) following a battery drain incident kinda scared me a little. Mike at OT checked everything and found that my car stereo (installed by BestBuy back in 2008) wasn't wired in correctly. I'm not a Car Person, but from the way Mike explained it the person who installed it piggybacked off another terminal instead of wiring it properly. He referred me to R&R. Well! Ron was absolutely terrific. He had a bunch of other jobs he was working on, but took time out to inspect and re-install/re-wire my deck. Only charged me $50 and was more than happy to accept my Visa card as payment. Yay! Ron doesn't really have a website per se, so I want to make sure to spread the word that the guy is awesome. My stereo works amazing, and no battery drainage issues. I don't believe he sells car audio, but he is more than happy to install it for ya. So yup, I'll probably be going to Best Buy to BUY my next deck but I'll be having Ron install it for me rather than the so called Geek Squad. KC PS - I selected "Bike Parking" because he's super close to the Burlingame train station which does have bike parking! read more

I recently purchased a new/used car. I was excited to get this new/used baby on the road, and listen to some tune but when I reached over to plug in my iPod I couldn't locate the auxiliary port. Ok, where did they hide it? April Fools! No iPod jack. I asked around and was told since my car had navigation that installing a iPod kit would probably not be an option. At this point I sought advice from my trusted mechanic. He highly recommended that I head over to Rock and Roll and speak with Ron. Ron took a look at my car and within minutes found a solution and ordered a kit. A few short days later he called and told me that the kit had arrived. I dropped my car off and within two hours my car was finally equipped with an iPod kit that not only works, but works way better than I ever imagined. Reasonably priced and exceptional service. This place is a must for any of your cars audio needs. read more

I needed a little simple help with my sound system in my smart car. I did a quick search while I was down in Burlingame one day and found rock and roll. This guy is super stand up. I had no appointment, I just showed up and he stopped what he was doing and helped me. He solved my problem which was fairly simple in a few minutes and I was on my way. But that said, the real value here is the customer service. With the pandemic destroying businesses like these in large swaths, I was very happy to find this place. Great guy super knowledgeable, and if you have any old cars or hot rods, he's a specialist and electronic wiring in that sort of thing too. I wish I could recommend this place twice. Give him your money you won't go wrong. read more

Ron has been amazingly patient with my amp repair. I've tried two different amp installs so far. Ron has been very diligent and communicative with getting the sound system problem in my car resolved. read more

I own a 1956 Chevy P/U and was looking for a shop to re-wire my whole truck. I got a referral from a guy at Brizio's Custom Car builders in So.City. Told me to call Ron at Rock n Roll. Talked to Ron and brought my truck in the next day. Ron took a look, I told him what I wanted done, we talked for about 1/2 hr and I felt I could trust him with my "baby". Brought my truck in on Jan 4,2010 and 3 weeks later my truck was done. I was grining from ear to ear. He also turned me onto a tire guy named Jimmy who put 4 new "shoes" on my truck which is sitting with just the right stance. I thought this guy only installed stereos and alarms...wrong. He's got connections for body guys and upholstery too. A wealth of info for someone looking to resto a classic. I am bringing my 1956 Ford p/u to Ron to install an original radio in and install a horn. That's how much I trust this guy with my "kids" Update... I brought my 1956 Ford p/u truck into Ron's to get an original radio installed and a horn. Ron got it done in under 2 hours. He had to drill a round hole into the dash for the radio and install 2 new horns under the hood and hook up the wiring. I just wanted the original radio for the looks so he didn't have to wire it. He told me about installing a kit to hook up my ipod into so i can play my tunes and use the ipod's fm radio . This will be my next project for Ron. read more

Rock n Roll is the greatest! In the years that I have been going to Ron he has rewired doors, lights, trouble shot and installed for me. I have sent 8 of my own cars to him(including parents) and have referred countless friends and family. Everybody always has a least one thing in common when done dealing with Ron and that is they always leave happy! Ron has also rewired a boat and a few trailers for me! Yes! I said boats and trailers! Bottom line is the Guy Is gifted with natural talent and knowledge of almost anything car related and if he isn't sure about something he will point you in the direction of an answer. Put simply the dealerships send him the complicated work for their own cars. Rock n Roll is your one stop shop. I have also used his tire and body work guys. read more

I had to write a review because this shop helped me out with great service at the right price. I had a cheap cd player that I needed installed in my old honda civic. My CD player was stolen so the last thing I wanted to do was pay to get the new one installed. After a quick chat and telling my story to the owner, he installed my new CD player perfectly at the cheapest price I could find in the Bay Area. The shop clean and the vintage items are very cool. He even preset my radio to my favorite station 107.7 The Bone. Thank You, Rock and Roll read more

Ron is the best car mechanic in the bay area!! He completely fixed my old Honda Civic's serious problems which nobody couldn't find out for a while. He is a truly reliable and sincere person, and I was so impressed with his care :). He always offers a reasonable price as well! I hope that more people will get to know about this amazing place. read more

Rock & Roll - Awesome Job Ron! - Electronics Near Me - Burlingame, California

I had my 1968 Plymouth GTX sound system upgraded to an all-new amplified sound system that connects directly to my iPhone 5. A big bonus is that I control the sound system DIRECTLY from my phone! No onboard controls that would take away from the classic vibe of my car. I would highly recommend Rock and Roll to anyone looking to upgrade their car's sound system. I'm looking into Bluetooth installation for my next project and would go to Rock and Roll to get it done! read more

I brought my 1969 GTO this place I wish I never did. First of all he does not have a sound room second of all he doesn't have any equipment there. You are going in blind and you're trusting this guy. I went to pick up my GTO he had the nerve to charge me $1000. He put a piece of crap little app on top of my stereo which he mounted under the dash. Two weeks later it fell out he just put some shit screws in to the plastic underneath my dash. He put two tiny speakers next to each other up inside my dash. I could only turn it up halfway and it will start to crackle sound like shit. The stereo will always default and only the rear speakers would work I can't even figure out how to make the front ones work the whole thing was a disaster ..Ended up putting a new stereo and a new front speakers and what a waste of money I should've demanded my money back but I'm not that kind of guy I would never ever ever go to this guy again read more

I've been needing to put in parking sensors into my girlfriend's car for about a month. I finally had some time to look into it and figure out what I want. I called Rock & Roll and talked to Ron while I was out of town and set up an appt for the following week. The sensors needed painting so he referred me to Dean's Auto Body across the street. Dean was busy but fit me in to paint the sensors and then coordinate with Ron to get them back to him. Dean was another great find but that's another review. I came back the next day and the painted sensors were installed and looked OEM. Perfect paint match by Dean and perfect installation by Ron. I forgot to get a quote for Ron's work before I left the car because we were talking on the phone so much. When I went to pick everything up, I was afraid I was going to get overcharged but Ron gave me a very low price for all the work he did. I almost felt bad paying him so little. I'll be back and would highly recommend Rock & Roll to anyone wanting an affordable, competent, and trust worthy installer. read more

Ron cleaned up the aftermarket radio wiring mess left by the previous owner of my car. Putnam Subaru down the block recommended him.

The service here is fast, professional and price is reasonable. But the most important fact about Rock and Roll is that Ron knows his stuff. I brought my car there to have a head unit and dash kit installed. Ron installed everything promptly and was able to troubleshoot and fixed the static noise that came from my stock amp very quickly. And I came in and out within an hour happily with a new stereo installed at a reasonable price. I am sure there are many fancy car stereo shops out there. But I will choose Ron's old stereo shop over any of them any time. Experience is all it matters! read more

Highly recommend Rock and Roll. I brought my 2000 Xterra in with an alarm I bought online and ended up not having the time to install. Ron installed the alarm and it is working great. The job took a little longer than he originally thought, but he did not charge me for the extra time. read more

This place was so great. Ron is the man!!!! He installed an amazing stereo in my vehicle without cutting anything and you cannot see it at all. It's unbelievable! I was ready to buy "infinity" or any other high top brand, but he told me how to get bass and highs without spending a ton of money. I now have a super loud, super quality sounding stereo which cost $700.00 installed with an amp, subwoofer 12", custom box and tweeters. The installation was so clever - I don't want to talk about it so others don't copy it and take his ideas away! Anyway, Ron is totally honest and soooooo knows his stuff. I would highly recommend this place for any special installation or any simple installation. Awesome. Thanks Ron. read more

Ron is a good guy and offers fair prices on getting a car stereo installed. This isn't the store of your youth where it is all a bunch of guys standing around huge walls of decks and 'banging' systems. Just a humble shop with a smart owner who works to make sure you leave happy. read more

Heard about this place from a friend and was I ever glad! I showed up at a little after 9 a.m. to see if he would install a back up camera I'd purchased from Groupon. He took it right in and told me he'd have it done in 2 hrs. I returned in an hour and 15 minutes and he was pretty much through. He also stated if I had any problems to just bring it back. I am completely satisfied with the installation and the kindness he showed to me while I was there. He's a great guy and knows his stuff. read more

My car alarm fob was broken and needed to be replaced. After dealing with the manufacturer's very slow and dated website and getting the run around over the phone, I ended up giving Rock & Roll a call because it was local. Ron told me to swing by so he can check it out. Within 15 minutes, Ron managed to not only find me a replacement fob, but also sorted out the alarm wiring under the dash which could have caused problems. He knows his car alarms. We never discussed the pricing and he just charged a little over the cost of the replacement fob and I was happy with that. If I ever have problems with car alarm or car audio, I'm definitely going back to Ron to discuss options. read more

(May 20, 2019). Decided to try this place because of previous comments. Went in to get a quote for my daughters stereo which previous owners did a number on all the wires. Ron who is the Owner I believe took the time to look at it told us what needed to be done explained step by step and sent us on our way. Shocked? Indeed, why you ask? Because now a days you don't run into good folks like that. Not only did he earn my respect in those 2.5 seconds he earned a 5 star with a lot of recommendations from here on out! Thank you Ron for taking the time to explain to us. read more

I got my plumbing tools jacked last night . My sewer camera, my big drain cleaning machine and my little snake. Not cool!!Not bitter at all though. I believe what goes around really comes around. Some lights were out in my dash and I finally decided to get it fixed. My mechanic recommended Rock & Roll. Ron took a look and told me I needed to special order the lights from the dealer. When I brought the lights back he told me it would be quick so I walked around downtown. When I came back everything was fixed and he told me it was super easy so no charge! When does that happen?! I'm used to car guys trying to do the up-sell or take advantage so it's really great when someone will be honest that it's a quick fix. I'd come back to Rock & Roll in a heartbeat. read more

Amazing service! The owner is so friendly & helpful. I went in to get a quote for a new alarm- because my current alarm used to go off every single night for no reason. When I went in just to see prices and told him my issues, he looked at my car was was able to fix it right on the spot-NO chrage. Apperently, toyota forgot to tell me i had TWO alarms installed when I bought the car and the owner just disconnected the one I was having trouble with. Becuase it was no charge and i loved the service- I wanted to give them buisness & I had always wanted a new radio with the usb for an Ipod connection. He order the "kit" so that he could install the radio for me.. Very affordable prices. I highly recommed this place to EVERYONE! They are awesome! read more
