I can't say enough good things about this shop! A few months ago, I stopped in because my daughter, who lives up in the Bay, was having random electrical issues with her aftermarket stereo. He got us in quickly, took the time to really figure out what was going on, and most importantly explained the issue in a way I could actually understand. No talking down and no rushing, just honest and knowledgeable help. He even told us to come back if anything else popped up. Fast forward a few months and the radio is still working perfectly with no issues at all. On top of that, while we were chatting, Jason and I ended up talking about Subaru vehicles. I casually mentioned a few other problems my daughter had been experiencing. When she came home to visit, I passed that information along to our local mechanic, and it turned out Jason was spot on. They brought our old truck (2002) up to date with a current new stereo, that receives Sirius And plays DVD and pairs up with current technology like Backup camera, phone charging and voice commands. I had them install an updated head unit to my daughter's VW Passat. It never really worked well, and after replacing the factory amp and woofer, took it to somewhere else only to find that Motor Music had used a cheap and failed head unit to car BUS - literally a $150 part that ended up costing me $$$$ because they claimed it wasn't an install issue. Nice people, but no accountability when stuff wasn't working. read more

Bad rear camera install! First, the install of the rear camera turned out to be a mess shortly after it rained, and I started to get water damage to my new toyota rav 4 prime hybrid. I was very worried that this new car was going to get damaged, and i took it to the dealer rectify this bad install. I wanted to avoid a very expensive battery water damage bill, so I took it to sf toyota dealer to fix this bad install. I honestly did not feel comfortable having motor music mess up my car even further. I just wanted this issue fixed & resolved, I asked the owner to pay for the correction and he stated he would not. this is my first EV plugin vehicle, and I didn't want them (MC) to mess it up any further. after paying $600 for install to Motor Music aka Sound Alarm, Toyota Dealer fix/correction was $342 from the car is good now no more water damage in the trunk, lesson learned don't come to this place for anything other than woofers or stereos if that. Watch water intrusion video: https://youtube.com/shorts/LnvEzp4MVC4 SF Toyota Dealer notes: Client states there is water leaking from rear hatch interior panel, asm verified on service drive. inspect and advise. verified customer's complaint. verified water is leaking in the top side of the rear hatch door. found aftermarket wiring on the door hatch. found the aftermarket wire is making a gap between the weatherstrip and the plastic hatch panel. inspected around where the aftermarket wiring is wiring to and found the rubber grommet that seals between the rear hatch door and rear back side of the vehicle has a gap and is not secured properly. secured the grommet properly. recommend drilling a hole on the plastic panel and wire the aftermarket camera wire inside the panel so the weatherstrip is sealing the rear hatch properly. drilled a hole on the plastic rear hatch door panel. applied felt tape to dampen noise on the wire. reinstalled components and performed water leak test. verified water is not leaking inside the vehicle. sprayed water for 10 minuter and verified no leaks present. total cost $ 342.00 read more

i could not be happier! my 95 gmc vandura van had old original speakers in the dash. no one wanted to deal with taking the whole dash out to replace. they were so blown out i could barely hear while driving. then my car alarm remote broke and i couldn't open my doors automatically or turn on alarm. i called and Willie answered. he walked me through many options snd said they could help me out. i arrived at 10am. he looked at my van and said they could custom cut holes in my door and put some nice speakers in the door, instead of pulling out the dash. i was a bit hesitant to cut into my vibey van doors. Willie said i could put in bigger speakers that way and it would sound really good woth my stereo. i agreed and said yes. then they were able to fix my remote!! and program a second one for me so i have a back up. I called here about installing a car backup camera with a monitor that I own with the full kit. They made me bring it in to get an estimate. They wanted $370 to install a cheap $62 item that I saw on YouTube would take 30 minutes if I had the extra tools when the competition down the street said they'd do it Friday for $145. I understand if you price items higher than Amazon, but this is pure labor they had to do. Even a visit to a Cardiologist won't cost you that much. Do not give your money to shady people. I have had probably 5 stereos done by your shop over 40 years. I have had 11 +/- cars/trucks during that time. So you had a good average. I came in again last week. You brought your installer in because of the year of my car. I told you SPECIFICALLY what I wanted. You showed this BOAT thing saying it would be great for my car. You said it would cost 1700 dollars complete You have already lost points deviating from what I wanted. We discussed it and I said I come back on Monday with my Truck to further show you what I was looking for. I have an Alpine CDE-HD149BT with Infinity Speakers in my Dodge. I come in with a setup that I wanted. You said no. Those are cheap speakers. Why don't you buy a subwoofer and better speakers and an AMP (which I had already told you I did not want). Generally, I don't mind an upsell EXCEPT when I am specific about what I wanted to be done. I told you again that is NOT what I asked for. I then said we are done and have a nice day. I had a Bluetooth radio installed and after a few days it was obvious that it was too powerful for my factory speakers so I went back and got a great deal on speakers, all installed in about an hour, and when the display went halfway out I got a massive upgrade to a new and better model for zero cost. This is also the place to go for all you DIY's as they have a wall just full of everything you need including any size speaker wire by the foot and any connector you could need. read more

I had some after market headrest monitors I wanted installed in my H2 Hummer. I shopped around for pricing for install. Up the street from motor music is another audio car place which quoted me, now brace yourselves, $600 to install two headrest monitors! Are you fu__en kidding me?! The headrest monitors are a universal fit, which you can adjust the poles to fit your seat. Now I already knew this but was playing the "I know nothing" role to see what they would say. It also says adjustable poles on the box too by the way. They say "well it looks like we may have to fabricate the poles to fit in your seat because Hummers have a different seat I don't think these poles will fit" "so for the custom work it should be around $600". What a crock of shit! They look at my car pretty much and see that it's an expensive car and pretty much just say to themselves "he can afford it" that's how you find the dishonest places folkes. Know your stuff play dumb and see what happens. Obviously I said "umm?yea, ok, no thanks. I checked best buy colma for the sake of checking and for some reason they say they couldn't do it?? Not cuz they were busy but because they don't believe they can make the poles fit in my seat? Interesting, considering they didn't even look at the monitors. Then I go to motor music. I tell them if like to install two DVD headrest monitors in my H2 Hummer. They say no problem. The installer looks at my headrest monitors, pulls the poles apart to widen them, to align them with the holes in my seat for the headrest. Says "yea I can install them" it will be $100" it will take a few hrs. I say great! Ok go ahead and get it done. I leave my car with them and wait for their call when it's finished. About 4 hrs later I get the call that my car is done. I couldn't be more happier. The installation is clean, it looks great and what's even better is the honest and great customer service they provided. They also previously installed two 12 inch subwoofers in my car with a custom made box, that sound great. Thumps hard and sounds clean. Okay so I have been being nosy and reading all the negative reviews about this place. I see a lot of it is about pricing.. I understand that some of it may have been overpriced but also you have to understand these people are a private shop... that's like complaining that the local owned hardware store is overpriced because somewhere like WALMART can sell the same product cheaper... of course their products are going to cost more! It is important to support the local shops.. or course Amazon is going to have a crazy low price. Private shops cannot compete.... but I can tell you the warranty is amazing! I had my car system stereo installed here and I bought the amp, sub, tweeters, extra battery thing lol ( I don't know what it's called but it gives the system more Powers without draining my lights or anything like that... ), and the sub box. Well the first sub I had was installed and it sounded cool.. but it ended up being blown the first week.. okay, so I brought it back and they fixed it right away. They did offer an upgrade and I figured I would take it since it would deliver a higher quality sound, and I was amazed at the difference! They didn't charge me labor either just the extra for the nicer sub.. okay so that Was sounding amazing and then all of a sudden something happened and it started to sound duller and monotones. You know how bass sounds different in different songs well it like got stuck sounding just one low buzz.:. Okay so I brought it back again. I had a suspicion that it was wired backwards and let them know what was up. They took the car in with no question and started to check it out. The technician had tweaked the sub a little bit and they brought me in to check out the sound I stated that it still didn't sound as good as it did before and I was a little disappointed. So the technician tweaked it again by turning up the bass and asked me if that was better... well it's still wasn't sounding as powerful and good as it was before. So after the third time of them asking me if it sounded better they just said OK no problem and they replaced it right then and there full warranty no charge! Once they have installed the new sub hUsain did state that the sub was in fact wired backwards. He apologized and insured that this time it was wired right. So I drove off that day without being charged any service fee and with a brand new sub for no cost and everything has been good sense. I was surprised how quickly they took in my car and how once they saw I wasn't impressed with the sound anymore they just decided OK let's just give her a new one no problem! Husain was super sweet to me and he explained everything and what each thing that I was purchasing did to improve my sound. I know it doesn't matter much since I spent so much money there but I was looking at this little cell phone holder that you plug into your cigar charger and he noticed it and he said you can just have that thing. Now I know it's just a small thing but still it was nice of him when he saw I was interested. Now now this is a good example of how even though the products were priced a little bit higher than what you would find on Amazon the warranty and the customer service made all the difference. I didn't have to bother mailing anything back and contacting a company and trying to get a refund and trying to get a replacement you know how that can be a hassle. Once I stated that I had a problem they took it in right away they listen to me they tried to fix it and made sure I was happy in the end. Also the gentleman that helped me in the front was just really sweet and kind and seem like an all-around good guy. When I walked in he was praying in the back, and I I don't know I just liked that! I had a pretty good experience and everything has been working fine ever sense.. There was just a small wiring issue but they fixed it right away And listen to my concerns. Do not go here. I wish I could have done NO stars but apparently Yelp does not allow this. Essentially, I'm writing this review because I just don't want anyone else to go through this horrible experience. They ruined my car doing a "custom installation". Before I left my car, we went over exactly what they would be doing. I was ecstatic to find a place that could do this custom job. Little did I know, I was in for a rude awakening. They RUINED my dash. Literally. Sawed it crooked and returned my car to me. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't believe how horrible of a job they did. If they had even a shred of doubt, they should've been honest and said it was impossible to do. I mean I'm coming to you, you're suppose to KNOW and be pros at this! They ended up refunding me the custom install cost (after I yelled and complained - I mean why did I even have to go that far. It was the RIGHT thing for them to do!) But even then, I had to dish out much MORE money to fix the dash of my car because they ruined it. Really,I should have sent them the receipt for the repair of my dash to have reimbursed - maybe I will. Save yourself the heartache and headache - go somewhere else. I have photos posted if you're interested in seeing how horrible this experience truly was. It still blows my mind they were OK with giving me my car back in the condition it was in. Update and in response to your response: that is absolutely NOT TRUE - you told you me that you could do it. I was not warned of any "risk". You all simply told me to come to bring my vehicle. I had to call a tow truck to jump-start my car and I wanted over 1 hour. I finally took the car to this shop, they did not even bother doing the most simple diagnostics. It was like they did not want business or something. I found a guy on craigslist, and he came to my house and did it for 60 dollars. I brought my RX8 in to see about getting an iPod interface. There are a number of aftermarket products out there, but to install them requires someone with more skill than me...a professional. This place was well reviewed and nearby so I checked it out. They are not willing to do this kind of work, at least not for me. The guy gave me a hearty greeting but after looking at my car (a 2006 with factory stereo) he said that the parts for this are "rare" and I should go to the dealer. On car forums I've found a lot of discussion about the various products available and they are definitely not "rare" or hard to get. But I didn't debate with him, what I heard was that he didn't want my business for whatever reason. I feel totally blown off; if a professional can't or won't do it, then what are my options. Hussein and Pedro are awesome! I brought them a big mistake I caused. They unwound my dumb wiring job, installed an air compressor, CB Radio and PA system for a very reasonable price. This work ended up resolving an engine misfire as well. Electric harness wiring MASTERS! With the money they saved me on this wiring work I'm coming back to have them redo all my speakers.
