The head unit for my Toyota Prius died after 12 years, and my Toyota service team referred me to Audio Images in Burlingame. Jeff, Ace, and the entire team there were friendly, knowledgeable, and total pros. Based on the specifications I gave them, they suggested the Sony XAV-AX4000. I recommend calling them at least a week in advance so that they can order the correct parts for your car. After I dropped off my car in the morning, they were able to complete the installation of the new head unit in the same day and were finished in the afternoon. I custom-ordered a Focal speaker for my BMW 6-series which took a bit of waiting to get, but these custom speakers are designed to stealthily plug into factory speaker locations for BMW, Mercedes, Tesla, etc. while giving an upgrade to the overall sound fidelity. I am a knowledgeable car and home audio enthusiast and I appreciated that they set me up exact the way I liked and were quick with their work. They charge $150/hr labor for products purchased through them, but you can even bring in your own electronics to have them install it if you prefer, although it's slightly more expensive. I was happy with the careful and thoughtful approach they took with the install and the sound quality is superb. read more

My recent experience with Audio Images reminded me as to why shops like this exist. While restoring my classic muscle car, I went out on a limb and installed my own system components. It's not a crazy complex system, but my amplifier definitely has more settings and functions that I can't even begin to explain. I was content with it, but there was always something that was nagging in the back of my mind. I finally caved and decided to give these guys a call. I am upset at myself for not doing it sooner. Pulling into their shop parking lot, I was immediately met with employees ready to help. Jeff, the owner, jumped right into the trunk and began dialing in my amplifier. After a bit of time and climbing in and out of the trunk, he called over Ven, who went back over everything multiple times over and tweaked it all just a little bit more. The clarity and tone change was so drastic, you'd think I had a whole new system installed. The 6-1/2s and 6x9s speakers inside are now crystal clear and distributed perfectly throughout the car. The 10" sub in the trunk is just as smooth as the others and balanced perfectly overall. The best part is now being certain that I am no longer putting any unnecessary strain or damaging what I have with settings I had tried to configure myself (whoops). I'm sure there are a multitude of shops out there that wouldn't touch a system that they didn't install themselves. Not Audio Images. They even complimented some of the little things I had to do to get my system to work, which was reassuring for a first time install. For getting scheduled way quicker than I figured I would be, having multiple sets of eyes on everything, not being dismissed for giving it a go myself at first, no longer risking damaging what I have, and leaving the shop with a massive audible difference in audio clarity, the experience was priceless. I had an issue with my BMW's stock subwoofer that was driving me crazy, and I couldn't find the cause or a solution anywhere. I literally spent weeks trying things, reading boards and trying again, but no luck. I finally decided to reach out to Audio Images through their website, got a quick response from Ace and was in their shop the very next day. The team quickly trouble shot the issue and fixed it. I wanted a front and rear dash cam set up that was hard wired! I went to Audio Images. Ace was at the counter and I explained what I wanted and he showed me two options. I went with the Vantrue Nexus 4 Pro which provides front, rear, and interior views with GPS, and parking monitor. Ace quoted me a price for the camera and an estimate of the installation charge for my specific car 2025 Hyundai Tucson which was a range from $400 - 7 or $800 . I made an appointment and returned the following week for installation. I had taken pictures of my vehicle interior and exterior prior to dropping it off. Not necessary. Audio Images did an absolutely fantastic professional job. There is no evidence that the headliner was even opened. As far as the installation estimate, it wound up being on the low end at $450 for 3 hours at their advertised rate of $150 per hour. I had these guys install a Borla active performance exaust sound system for my Mustang Mach-e GT. This is a really cool product that allows an EV (like the Mach-e) to have a pretty realistic sounding performance exaust sound. Which has 4 choices of V8 performance car sounds that can be turned off or on with volume control. So it has a speaker enclosure that is mounted under the car near the back bumper with an integrated wiring harness connected through the cars data bus. All plug & play with no modifications needed to the car. I have a new 2024 Mustang Mach-e GT Rally car and didn't want to take it to just any shop for this install. So I did my research and found Audio Images in Burlingame. According to reviews has a great reputation and works on all types of car audio & car electronics systems. Not just your typical car audio shop. I called & discussed with them and they were very interested in installing this system for me. They did an awesome job and proved very worthy of my confidence in them. I was a first time builder and he was very kind and helpful. A few weeks later, I went back to get some connectors that I could not find anywhere else, Jeff and his team gladly sold me a handful of them so I could finish my project. A couple weeks go by again and I am finally finished with my system. I tuned it for the first time and it sounded great but I wanted more.
