These guys are awesome, and they hands down understand what excellent customer service. These guys have installed 2 systems for me and both have sounded amazing. Even with the budget I was on, they still made the system sound amazing. I worked with Luis, who even corrected a problem I had with a previous installation and made it right. He took care of me without question which is the reason why I keep coming back here. My commuter is SO much more fun to drive with this basic little sound system that sounds superior to the factory one. What's even more awesome is that the install is so clean, you can't even tell there's an aftermarket sound system installed. I'd love to see what these guys can do with a high end system. I took a 2nd car to Pro Auto just yesterday. They updated the stereo in my 2006 Honda Pilot to a nice new touchscreen with Apple Car Play and a back-up camera. But here's the extra cool thing. On my way there, I scraped the trim on the rear wheel-well on the car - bending it away from the body. Not pretty, and a bit frustrating. I showed it to my wife just as we were leaving the car with the guys at Pro Auto. To my surprise - when I picked the car up, they had fixed the trim for me! Went in on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago. Was greeted by the owner. Told him what I was after. He didn't have it in stock he made a couple of recommendations and I chose one. I was looking to upgrade the speakers in my '06 MINI and spoke with Aaron about options. He listened as I shared with him as I was working with a small budget and made good recommendations. Your search is over. Rewind 10-12 years - I stupidly let some kids in Mountain View replace the head unit with an iPod-compatible Alpine. They used some kind of wiring harness that made an Acura RSX with BOSE sound like TOTAL SH1T. We lived with it for years -- me thinking that the car just needed a subwoofer or something. Some audiophile I am. Finally I say enough is enough. Time to put that double-DIN opening to use and replace the Alpine with something more modern that can connect to our phones. After research, I decided on the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, a touch screen, a detachable face and does anything and everything -- Apple or Android. It's badass. I drop the car off with the new Pioneer, a 60-watt, 2-channel JBL amplifier, and some Pioneer separates to go in the front, to replace what I think are crap speakers. Here's where things get GOOD -- a few hours into the installation Luis calls to say -- "You don't need the amplifier -- you've already got one. And you don't need those new separates either. This car has a Bose system in it and sounds great as it is." I'm floored. I don't believe it. I've been into car audio since my first car circa 1988. I know a good, low THD amp from a cheap POS, the difference between active and passive crossovers, and what digital time alignment does for the soundstage in a car (YOU WANT IT.) One day later, we go back to pick up the car. Luis had pulled a miracle and mounted the Pioneer without a kit (that I forgot.) He shows me the Bose subwoofer in the middle of the spare tire, and the wiring harness that was to blame for how bad it sounded before. We get in to hear how the new system sounds. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. It was literally like going from AM radio to full-range 20-20000 Hz CD quality. We could feel bass. The mids were clear and the dash-mount tweeters crisp. And this was just from the HD radio!!! We hadn't even tried a phone, iPod, or CD yet. On top of all this, Luis installs a rear-view backup camera -- OMG GOOD. I own a 2002 BMW X5 E53 and was told by numerous shops and internet chats that I could not use any of the factory components such as the 10 speakers in the car the factory sub and so forth. Louis was fair and told me to let him take a look and he'd get back to me after a day or so. He called within a couple of hours and said he was pretty sure he could make it all work with an updated aftermarket deck. That was on a Tues and I picked up on a thurs same week. For starters, the fact that they have the "Quote" option available is fantastic! And even better is that they respond literally within the given time they state. I requested a quote to see how much it would cost and how long the project would take. The project was to get install a pioneer double din into a 2004 VW Golf. Aaron responded back in the yelp messages. He asked questions pertaining to what items (Pioneer double din stereo, VW install kit, wire harness, radio antenna) I already had, what year the vehicle was, does the vehicle have steering wheel controls, etc. I answered the questions and within a few mins I had received a quote. He gave the price range ($125-190) of how much it would be. The low end of the range would be if all went smoothly and there were no issues. The higher end was if they came across any complications or adjustments that were necessary to be taken. Then he asked when I would like to schedule an appt with them to get the project completed. I forgot to respond to the message and showed up the next day. That's when I met Luis and showed him all the items I had. Said it would be no problem and scheduled for the install the next day. I showed up the next day as soon as they opened and they were able to work right on it. I met Aaron and he mentioned that after talking to Luis the day before I had an older Pioneer unit because the item I brought in wasn't the newest. It was actually from 2012 (brand new then) and he recommended I think a new unit would be better incase the old 2012 unit wasn't functioning after the install (which I would still pay for even if the unit didn't work, cost of labor). I told him this wasn't a big deal and I just wanted to take the original VW Golf head unit out. Sure enough Aaron and Luis installed the Pioneer head unit along with everything else. And added a bluetooth microphone for me because we all know "the law of being hands free while driving" as well as a female aux cable & female usb cable because my old unit didn't come with one. They truly know how to take care of their clients. First time client to life long customer! Everything worked out great and loving the Pioneer unit. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR HONESTY AND HARD WORK!!!
