At the same time, I was yelping on auto shops that I wish could do a great transformation for my car. However, Vision Performance popped/appeared on the screen with high stars/reviews, and it's really near where I live. So, I planned to give a try and bought the parts and my car in. Okay since my last review of this place I have come to know the guys here alot better. I get all my work done here now. Whenever I have problems and really hard to diagnose issues with my car they have taken care of it for me and I haven't had any problems since. Even when my exhaust manifold broke off at the welds, the guys from Vision Performance helped me so that I could safely get to a muffler repair shop, when my wiring underneath my dash burnt up and fused together, Crosby (the owner) got under there and fixed it for me. I was invited to their customer appreciation BBQ and it was so much fun, they had a car show in the parking lot, they gave out so much free food and drinks. Everyone there was having such a good time. How many places you know have customer appreciation BBQ's? I also wanted to touch on some of the other negative reviews by some other yelpers, If you have never been to this shop and give them negative remarks or if you benefit in any way from giving this shop negative remarks, you should be ashamed of yourselves. These are good people trying to make an honest living. The shop is called Vision Performance, not Tangent. Different owner different employees, different quality of work. These guys helped me out by selling me some t-taps, crimp caps, spades, and ring terminals for a stereo install I was doing. Charged me a few bucks and where a life save so I didnt end up spending way more at the hardware store and having a bunch of pieces left over. The place seemed like its been around for awhile and had a nice selection of crazy JDM air fresheners. Also seems to stock a fair amount of honda parts and other car performance accessories (including lots of used stuff). From what the guy was telling other customers it sounds like the brands that they are carry are rather limited though. It also sounded like they aren't all that great on customer service / helpfulness. For example a customer is in there and asks "how much will it cost me to get some bucket seats (racing style) for my supra?", long story short the guy has no idea what kinds of seats and the guy working there ends up telling him "well recaro's are xxxx price, but if you figure out what you want let me know and i'll find out if I can get them for you"...way to be helpful, the guy doesnt know what he wants and wants some help to figure it out! They do carry car stereo stuff but their selection was really limited and it's pretty obvious that they're more of a car parts place that just has some stereo stuff. I've spent the last few months trying to get my 98 civic hatch/commuter car to tip top shape since I have a 100 mile round trip commute. So, I've invested quite a bit of moolah into repairs and such. Sometime last month the driver side power door lock got stuck. I wasn't surprised as my Clifford alarm is about 10 years old. Well, I couldn't open the door from the inside cuz it was "permanently" locked. I had a couple of options: 1. "Dukes of hazard" style it out of my driver side window 2. Scoot over to the passenger side and get out that way 3. Roll down the driver side window, stick my head out, put key in and lift handle up to open the door. It got old really quick. I found Vision Performance through Yelp and I'm so thankful. I made an appointment with Crosby who gave me a min and max quote for power door locks and to swap out my head unit. When I drove in, it was like Happy Honda Hatch Day - as I saw a couple really nice hatchbacks parked around the shop. I was embarrased my car was so dirty. Anyways, I couldn't believe it, but they changed out my power door motors (I decided to have both sides replaced) and also switched out my head unit in less than an hour. Perhaps the newer deck was just too complicated for me - I just couldn't get it to sound right! Other people fiddled with it, but they couldn't fix it either. Oh wells. I'm just so happy to have a "hatchie that goes boom." My commute is sooooo much better now. LOL. This is a business run by genuine car enthusiasts who enjoy what they are doing and do quality work. When I was in college, I lived on an idyllic tree-lined street in a cute little town. I loved my apartment in an old Victorian mansion, with my room leading out to a balcony overlooking the above mentioned trees. What I did not love was the idiot who set his car alarm off every morning at 6:00am. This happened only for a series of months, but I still remember it vividly. I wanted to throw shoes at him every time. I refrained because I was on a college budget, and shoes can be expensive. I vowed I would never be that much of a dumbass. Fast-forward to 2009. (Perhaps, you see where this is going, already?) The remote control on my car alarm was slowly sinking into non-functionality, and I was too much of an dumbass to realize that it would eventually stop working entirely. A week ago it did just that... at 6:00am on the dot, as I was trying to leave for work. So, I did the unthinkable. I just unlocked the car and set off the alarm, so I could get it and dismantle the thing by hand and make it stop. Thing is, apparently, I have TWO car alarms. Both the annoying siren one, and also a horn-based type. They BOTH went off at 6:00am, winning me the Lamest Neighbor Award for this year. This is where Vision Performance comes into the story. They immediately assessed my alarm's problem and replaced the remote in less than 15 minutes. They were extremely helpful and friendly. Four stars because the store, itself, is cluttered with a bunch of boxes, merchandise, and chairs stacked all over. I had a good experience recently with having Vision order and install a replacement remote for me. I would totally go to them for more complicated auto electronic type stuff. Super friendly and helpful service, they know what they're doing no question about it. You might have to wait for attention and other downsides are that the hours are not super convenient for the average working person. The guys were friendly there, but overall my experience here was not satisfactory. I had them replace both my hid bulbs because one was beginning to discolor, he replaced the bulbs, the next day i brought the car back because now instead of discolor.. the still did not match, one side was white with a hint of blue, the other side was just white with no blue. i asked for it to be replace The man explained that he did not have any extra bulbs and that he would "order some and replace it and go from there" he tells me that it normally takes about 2 days (wednesday) for the shipment to come in. I told him that it's cool and that i'll be back on friday. Friday rolls around i went in for the bulbs, he tells me that it did not come in,and that it should be coming in today. Then promises that he'll call once it comes in.. surprise surprise.. he chose not to call AGAIN... in my mind i was thinking.. if he knew that the shipment didnt come in on wednesday.. isn't it common sense to call towards the end of the day, so that i dont have to make a wasted trip there? Nice guys.. but nice dont make up for the terrible customer service. I should of listened to my friend about this place, i figure he was just over reacting but i guess that i was the fool at the end for choosing to come to this place. Awesome, exceeded my expectations and competent on remote door/trunk locks. I came to them with an old Suzuki car and wanted to have remote door lock/unlock and trunk opener. They not only installed it in a few hours, but also set it up so: 1. Start the car and it automatically locks 2. Turn off the car and it automatically unlocks 3. Using the remote lock/unlock and the parking lights flash to show me what happened 4. Press the button for 1.5 seconds and the trunk opens. 5. Light on the dash flashes for lock/unlock Extra stuff, and well worth it. And such nice people. read more

Aite, this is my first ever review and im letting vision performance pop my yelp cherry. I was hesitant to go there at first due to the horrible yelper's reviews, however, after going there a few times. I realize they deal with some hard customers. People bring in OLD OLD OLD OLD cars and expect them to magically throw in an alarm system and fix everything else. Cross knows his stuff, and he's an honest family/business man. Michael is also a nice guy. They get things done Fast. and even if they dont, theres a bunch of nice asian restaurants to dine around noriega. Cross knows his electrical stuff. My dog chewed my F**KING wires under my seat TWICE causing my seat belt sensor to go crazy and my air bag light popping up. Hes a cute dog though so i forgave him. Anyways, Cross identified the problem pretty quick the first time and got it fixed in no time. 2nd time i found the problem and Cross fixed it again in no time. A bottle of water and 2 cigarettes and i was ready to go. For those who think they charge a lot, buy it online and let them install it for you. Vision performance is like the only import performance shop in south san francisco that i know of and i think they are great. Getting an alarm on your car is all about quality of installation, and there's so many pirates in the alarm business it's easy to get burned. Not so with Vision Performance. They did a great install job on our Subaru STI. I made sure to ask them the key question: "have you done installs on these cars before" and they said they'd worked on Subarus many times. In fact, they do most of their work on Japanese cars. Not surprising given that they're also a bit of a tuner shop. They'll do wheels, HID headlights and other import tuner goodies too. Unlike the other well-respected alarm shop in town, Audio Symphony, VP's prices are pretty reasonable. They promised a 4-hour turnaround time, and delivered in three. The installation was very clean. As the other reviewer said, this place needs a zero star rating! It is not a coincidence that so many of us are having the same problems with this dishonest and incompetent business. Every time I took my audio in to be repaired by Vision Performance, they broke something else unrelated to the original repair, then each time claimed it was not their fault and expected me to pay for their mistakes! They put things back wrong so my dash always squeaks and makes noise now, which it never did before. I would never let them touch my car again. I had a trustworthy business give me an even lower price than Vision Performance attempted to charge me to repair the stupid mistake they made. What I like least about Vision Performance is the outright lies they will say to your face and expect that you are going to accept their line of bull. Pay attention to the negative reviews and find someone else who knows what they are doing. I was in touch with these guys for a couple weeks as I was waiting for the car stereo deck I purchased off Amazon to arrive. They sounded confident and caring on the phone. On the day I went in they recognized my car from our conversations and came right over and warmly greeted me. Michael the one I talked to the most looked at the car dash and the equipment I bought. Asked a few questions about preference of placement of a few items. Gave me a estimated time of 1 hr 20 min. The bad: Their shop is hard to find (sign is faded to the point of being unreadable) and there is no parking. I had to take the car back TWICE because they didn't install the alarm correctly. After the first return trip, you'd think they'd check their own work. I understand not knowing the car, but they didn't even make sure they'd done it right. That's just sloppy. The good: Excellent prices and they worked hard to make it right, for free. They easily spent seven hours on my car, and never asked me for a dime extra. To be fair, it was a brand new model and the after-market car alarm had trouble integrating. There's one remaining bug that has to be fixed by the dealer. I bought an alarm for my boyfriend for Christmas in 2009.. Fast forward 10 guilty months later, I finally got it installed for him. I heard some good things about Vision Performance, so when I called I expected comporable service. Basically I got what I expected. Mike is super friendly and knowledgable about his Hondas. I called on a Friday and got the alarm installed the very next day. When I took the car in he noticed the check engine light was on and even hooked up the computer to take a look at the code. It was a faulty O2 sensor (that's why we've been getting crappy gas milage, durRrr) and said he could fix it for us as well. Koo! Prices are good, service is excellent. This is the only auto performance place even my dad can vouch for. They used to install car alarms for his vehicle and his work vehicles also. I started shopping there in 2005 and I still do today. Crosby, Mike, and the other associates are very helpful. When I needed a bumper for my car show, Crosby looked up the price for me at 3 different places 5 minutes before they closed. Very happy with these guys. The reviews on Yelp don't lie. These guys were fast, knowledgeable and friendly. My car alarm of 8 years finally started to break down and it clearly needed some attention if it was going to continue to do its job. I pulled up and they asked if I wanted to repair it or install a new one. I said if I could repair it that would be ideal. My car isn't exactly a Lexus, and throwing another $200-$300 into it wasn't top on my priority list. Longstory short, I was in and out in 20 minutes.
