The experience was dissapointing overall. I tried the Vietnamese coffee and found it to be way too sweet, which masked any actual coffee flavor. The espresso isn't great either... I had to dilute it with oat milk. The service is a bit awkward. It has a self service kiosk but I had to ask someone to order.
Stopped by Robu Coffee and tried the Vienna matcha latte. It was a bit too sweet for my taste (I personally don't love overly sweet drinks), but my friends actually liked it, so I think it just depends on your preference. The cafe itself is pretty small but cute, with some outdoor seating which is nice on a good day. I'd come back to try their fruit sando next time!
First time here... Service 3.5/5 The workers (2 of them) were busy making orders so we really were not greeted. You can order via the kiosk there so we did. Ambiance 3/5 Very small location with a few tables inside. They do have tables outside Decor for shop was ok. Nothing popping out at you. Coffee 4/5 Very decent Vietnamese coffee. We orders just Traditional Vietnamese Coffee and a Egg Coffee. Both were orders with 50% sweetness which is their default but I would probably ask for 25% because the 50% was a little too sweet for me. Overall the place is 3.5/5. I would go back but would not go out of my way if I was not in the area (I live in San Mateo)
I'm sorry, but this place is a no for me. They have amazing reviews, so it's possible I went on an off day, but my sister and I really did not enjoy the drinks we got. We ordered the strawberry calamansi fizz and a strawberry matcha, and neither was a winner for us. I can see how people would like the calamansi fizz, but we just didn't. The strawberry matcha, on the other hand, tasted a bit oxidized and bitter/grassy. I wish we had a better experience, as it's a very cute spot with a lot of variety. Hopefully it was just an off day & maybe I'll try it again one day but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
Another day, another banana matcha latte. This wasn't my favorite latte, I think it has something to do with the matcha smell/flavor. Maybe too earthy for me? BUT the banana pudding was so good. I love that they use fresh banana and Nilla wafers. Points for presentation too. I got oat milk and less sweet. Less sweet is the way to go. It's a little on the pricey side for a matcha, $7.95, plus $.80 for oat milk. They have lots of options for drinks and to eat. The sandos looked delicious. They also have their banana pudding canned and I'm sad I didn't get one. I ordered on a kiosk and it was made very quickly. Workers were polite. The parking is tricky if you've never been here. It's a small drive way next to the convenience store so don't miss it (like I did). Parking was easy, but the garage is very dark. Lots of indoor and outside seating so bring your furry friends.
Came here around 2:15 pm with my girlfriend on a Tuesday. Was not really packed at all, few people. Some bakery & sandwiches were already sold out but there was plentiful left, I imagine everything would be empty on the weekend. You can grab the sandwiches in the open fridge, the rest will be brought out when they call your name for your order. You order on the kiosk and the menu is pretty straightforward, lots of option. Chicken salad sandwich: pretty good, I love sliced almonds so this was good. Tuna salad sandwich: average tuna salad sandwich, nothing too fancy but pretty okay. Garlic bread bun: we got this heated and I'm not too fond of heated cream cheese but it was good overall. Banana cream in a can: super flavorful and delicious, I actually really liked it! Coconut Ube Vietnamese coffee: super strong and I would say it is more strong than flavored if you want something sweet you should get the regular coffees they have, not phin coffee. Matcha nitro: super good, not bitter at all and honestly tastes really well for nitro. I used to go to the pop up in Sunnyvale and this place was really good, I wish they had black sesame again, I used to get that all the time and it really balanced out the phin coffee. Overall, it was really good, I recommend for a good nice coffee shop!
I've had my eye on Robu for months and finally made my way there! The colorful photos of their coffees and yummy treat selection was enticing. Echoing others, parking was a bit awkward to find. I think I ended up parking in a smaller lot I wasn't supposed to, didn't find the garage others have mentioned. The shop is very clean and bright inside with lots of lighting. Not a lot of tables inside but there are some outside, and the outdoor are looks nice. Ordering was easy via a kiosk and staff brought items out quickly. I got their seasonal brown sugar banana latte and an egg salad sando. Both were delicious and I left no crumbs/drops! I loved the caramalized banana on too given with a little spoon, but I stirred it in to get yummy banana bits while drinking. I'll definitely be back to try others!
Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Free parking in the retail parking spots in the garage next to the store. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. Pretty small inside. I ordered the Vienna einspanner matcha latte, Korean garlic bun, and egg salad sando. The Vienna einspanner matcha latte was pretty good, not the best matcha I've had but good level of creaminess. I got whole milk but I was tasting a vanilla flavor similar to soy milk. Not my drinks but tried some of the banana pudding matcha latte which was solid, and the matcha latte (preferred the einspanner personally because I love cream). Korean garlic bun was unique, creamy, and flavorful and reminded me of stuffed bagels. Egg salad sando was good too, no complaints. Overall I think worth checking out!
Such a cute little drink spot in Mountain View! My friends and I came here after a workout session and it was the perfect pick me up. We were so surprised to see that they sold sandos here and had to get some. The drinks were all delicious and there's a good amount of choices. The staff were friendly and helped some of us with our drink choices. The only downside is that the interior is small so it has limited seating but if you're just looking to grab and go, then it's not an issue!
My boyfriend and I went here to try Japanese sandos, we wanted to try the egg salad and the strawberry sando. We got to try the tuna salad sando and egg salad, unfortunately the strawberry sandos sell out very early due to the popular demand. Good and filling! Especially on a weekend! The employee was nice and attentive. The sandwiches are packaged and put in the little fridge next to the registers. Seating available inside and outdoors. We sat outdoors for the calm city scenery. Parking is tight in a small garage on the side of the building.
Stopped by Robu to pick up drinks for some friends who are big fans of this matcha spot near our church, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Parking was a bit tough. The shop is located inside the Verve apartment building so I just parked nearby and walked. We ordered ahead online, which was super convenient for a larger order. The service was great! Everyone was really kind, and they even gave me boxes to help carry everything out. We tried the Vienna Einspanner Matcha Latte and you can really taste the quality. The matcha had a smooth, rich flavor that reminded us of the matcha we had in Uji, Japan. We also grabbed the egg sando, which was good and made for a quick, easy bite, but probably not a must-try compared to the drinks. The egg coffee, on the other hand, was surprisingly really good and came in a generous portion. Overall, a great spot for high-quality matcha and drinks. We'll definitely be back!
When we walked in, we were greeted by the worker. Their menu is really big and I love the options. It was so hard to choose between their phin drip coffees or their einspanner. I do love vietnamese coffee so I went with their salted coffee. It was perfect, the strong caffeine taste with the salted foam was delicious. I would definitely return! Lots of seating inside and outside.
Finding the coffee shop was a little confusing. Good thing I checked their Instagram to find parking because I would have not known where to park. I have been wanting to try their drinks for awhile. I saw many pictures and decided on the coconut ube coffee. When I went inside, the inside is pretty small. There is seating both inside and outside. They have a kiosk you can order. When I went in, the workers didn't greet me and I guess were too busy stocking and doing other things. I ordered my drink at the kiosk and also got an egg sandwich. My drink came out pretty quick. I sat down to enjoy my drink and sandwich. I'd give the drink and sandwich solid 3 stars. My first experience wasn't the best nor the worst but I didn't get a very friendly vibe here. read more
Found out about this place from a company event. I sampled their vienna coffee, cherry blossom coffee, and egg coffee before, and my fav was the vienna coffee! I liked the cream on the top. The retail parking lot is a bit hidden, so might miss it and need to make u-turns to go back. I came to the physical store this time and got the marble coffee, which is a less caffeinated, creamier twist on the traditional viet coffee. Viet coffee is usually too strong for me, so this was a great alternative for me! My friend thought their viet coffee wasn't strong enough though. DEFINITELY check their IG post for tips on parking. They have 2 hour retail parking in an adjacent garage and accessing the store was very easy. The interior is much smaller than expected, but there was ample seating outdoors. You can either order with staff or at the self-ordering kiosk. I wanted to try the pho coffee but they were sold out. I ended up ordering the egg coffee instead with 25% sweetness, and it was still a tad too sweet for me. I took a few sips, but ultimately took it home to fix myself. If you like sweet drinks, this might be the place for you. read more
I've had Robu Coffee bookmarked for a while due to their sandos and ube latte on the menu and finally had an opportunity to stop by with my parents on a Friday afternoon. I'm not quite sure where you are suppose to park if you would like to chill at this coffee spot. There was a good amount of cars parked along the front of the coffee shop, but a cop was actively there giving parking tickets so be careful if you decide to do a "quick stop". I opted for their ube coffee and didn't realize the base was a Vietnamese coffee so I ended up giving it to my dad to finish as it was too strong for me. I also bought their egg salad sandwich and strawberry sandwich while I was here and both were okay, but not the best and prices were kind of steep. Overall, I think it's a decent spot if you're into Vietnamese coffee. read more

Points for the creativity. They have an extensive menu: fun matcha flavors and einspanner and vienna lattes. They do at lot right at face value, but I don't think they are outstanding at anything. Their signature drink was just okay. Not bad, but not good; it barely made the $7 price tag reasonable (aka it was drinkable.) The espresso used is a little strong, a striking aroma that is horrible on its own and is better when the cream top is fully mixed into it to cover it up. I was disappointed because if something is labelled on the menu as a signature drink, I expect it to be the best drink that they have. Ordering is done at the kiosk, very minimal contact with the baristas. There was no line when I arrived and there were only a couple sandwiches left in the fridge that didn't look that fresh so I decided against trying it. The indoor seating is a little cramped. They have outdoor seating but they don't have enough shade. Crowded on a Sunday around 3:30pm, definitely not the best place to get work done on your laptop, but I saw valiant effort by a few to do so. Street parking is atrocious; neighboring plazas have towing signs if you're not there for their businesses. They have some garage parking, but there are no clear signs pointing to it. Wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for other reviews. Overall, I think they have the right ideas and still need to work on the execution. read more

I'm always on the hunt for a banana matcha and Robu Coffee's banana matcha did not disappoint! The sweetness and creaminess of the pudding paired well with the matcha, however I wish the matcha was a tad bit stronger. I do like the millibars and the actual banana chunks in the pudding! My husband got the egg coffee. The coffee was perfectly strong and the egg topping was delicious! One downside of the location is the parking is tricky. But overall the fun and delicious drinks are def a must try! read more

@robu.coffee in Mountain View is viral for a reason Their banana pudding in a can is the best we've ever had and we've had plenty. We finally visited to try their new nitro coffe series and we will absolutely be back. Robu Coffee is such a gem in Mountain View. The space is cozy, the service is warm, and the menu is full of creative drinks and fluffy Japanese-style sandos. The two standouts for me were the Coconut Ube Coffee and the Japanese Egg Salad Sando. The ube coffee is creamy and balanced with just the right sweetness, and the egg sando is perfectly fluffy and rich. Together they make the ultimate combo. read more

This might be my new favorite coffee spot, just wish it was closer to home :( it's small, maybe 5 tables total, but service was good. Menu is a little hard to read for us elderly folk, ya know. Their coconut pandan latte was fragrant and delicious! The best I've tried so far, where the pandan is strong and creamy, and the coffee doesn't just overpower it. The black sesame latte wasn't too bad either, but the black sesame flavor just blends with the coffee and isn't too strong compared to pandan. All the sandos looked really good. I got the egg sando and it's just okay. A little plain, but plenty of egg. I'll have to try the fruit ones next. read more

Jumped in on the banana matcha latte bandwagon and it was fantastic here! I was looking for something more dessert-like and this one fit that well. The drink had real bananas in it along with banana pudding that was smooth, not too sweet, and the banana flavor actually complemented the matcha really well. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Parking, though, is definitely tricky. As others have mentioned, the front is basically blocked off because of the bike lane and road traffic, so plan ahead or be ready to circle the block. Worth the hassle for the drink, though. Would definitely come back to try more flavors! read more
I was in the area and wanted some coffee. I saw this place had very interesting flavors that I was eager to try. This place is somewhat like Vietnamese style coffee shops, so it's very similar to other Viet coffee shops. Cherry Blossom Latte (4/5): Unfortunately the espresso machine was broken, so they just put the cherry blossom cream over the phin coffee. The cream was great, but I wish it was stronger. The coffee was good. I hope to come back next time with the espresso machine fixed. read more

Not bad! I came here with a friend and tried a bunch of drinks and two sandos. The tuna salad and mixed fruit sandos were nice! They were light sandos but well prepared. The fruits used in the mixed fruit sandos were so sweet and juicy! As for the drinks, nothing stood out it in particular. As a non-coffee drinker, I can't say much about the coffee. I did think it tasted different than the usual coffee and was extra strong. The owner said they grow the coffee beans on a family farm which is cool! The matcha is what I thought was a bit lacking. I don't know if it's because we got oat milk but the milk seemed to overpower the matcha. It just tasted like milk. Sweetness levels were also inconsistent. The shop itself has high ceilings with some seating both inside and outside. Workers were really nice and patient. You'll have to find street parking for this location. Overall, might come back for the sandwiches! read more

This is all for my strong coffee lovers. I ordered an iced coconut pandan latte. Regular ice. Single shot only, no toppings, and almond milk as my substitution. The presentation of the drink itself is how it looks like on the menu in person / online. (Yes, they do online pick up.) The flavor of the drink is great. After I mixed it, immediately you can taste how strong it is with just a single shot. The coconut shreds they put on top of the foam gives it more of a coconut taste since it will soak in the flavor in your coffee. Definitely, I think a strong drink like this will satisfy your day and get you going. Previously, my girlfriend and I had came to robu just for the Sandos, but there wasn't much options since they were short on the bread. (If I may remember correctly) As I came back, they had the strawberry, mixed fruit, tuna, and egg salad Sando as a good variety of choices. I was tempted to get a strawberry sando, but I was mainly in for the coffee. It is a small coffee shop. Nice outdoor seating where it's quiet at times to enjoy. They play good chill / relaxing music. Workers are nice, greeted me with a warm "hi welcome in". Be prepared for a small tucked away parking garage. Some spots are empty unless you get lucky. read more
This cafe is pretty small with a couple tables indoors & outdoors and bar table with charging ports. There's street parking nearby the cafe and service is friendly here. We got the coconut pandan latte and egg coffee, both the flavors were on point. You can really taste the coffee here because the drinks have double espresso shots and it perfectly balances the sweetness in the drinks too. This place is not lacking on flavor anywhere and is a great craft coffee spot. read more

Quite delicious, better than I would thought. Stopped by to get some caffeine and Japanese snacks for the road. Cute small corner coffee place with ceiling to floor glass window. Small or tiny seating area 4 tables very close together. Menu is simple but does deliver what they're about. You ordered and adjust your drinks to your liking via KIOSK and of course no cash, card only. Coffee makers are nice. It's might take abit to get your order since it's busy but worth it. The foods are really good, fluffy and yummy. Overall, quite good and glad that we came. read more
I'm a changed woman! I noticed they opened their official storefront close to my residence. I figured this was an opportunity to try them again, since I really enjoyed their flavors. Given my past experience with them, it was natural to feel a little hesitation as to what the final outcome would be. They've definitely improved the ordering experience overall! Before having their official storefront, their previous shop used to be overkill with the ice levels in drinks. This has improved considerably now, and their normal drinks have just the right amount of ice in them now! There are some drinks where you can even adjust ice levels, but they are explicit with the lower drink volumes coming out. And their drinks are just as delicious as ever, with their Asian-inspired coffee and matcha offerings. When I came by, I noticed they were super busy, between the orders coming in and the delivery drivers picking up orders. If you're coming at peak times, definitely give yourself at least 10-20 mins to wait, because it can get backed up! They also have some delicious sandwiches, such as their Japan egg sando and Strawberry sando - I might try one of these next time. But for now, can't wait to try more of their drinks! read more
Robu Coffee is a fun café with a variety of drinks and some complementary snacks. The staff is friendly and the vibes are spot-on. Starting with the drinks, Robu has quite the breadth of options, from classic espresso-based drinks to Vietnamese coffee to matcha to specialty lattes. You will probably find something that calls to you. Regarding the quality, they are usually good, though none of them have become a "favorite." The foams could be more strongly-flavored, in particular the pandan and ube. (I'm really happy they offer these flavors, at least, since they aren't common in cafés.) I've only tried one food option, the strawberry sando, and it was enjoyable. The bakery items seem as diverse as the drinks, so they are definitely something I plan to buy. Since they are close to my house, I will probably keep returning to appreciate the menu and to support local businesses. read more
Tried Robu coffee for the first time on a Friday around noon and the place was pretty full with folks chatting/working inside! ~The Drinks~ - Vienna Einspanner Latte ($6.95): Signature espresso with milk topped with house-made cream and cocoa powder. I totally forgot to adjust the sweetness, so this drink was a bit too sweet for my taste but it was pretty good! This was one of the recommend drink from the staff, so I wanted to give this a try. I really liked that the espresso wasn't too bitter or acidic. I'm not a fan of acidic espresso, so it was just perfect for me. The house made cream topping was also really delicious! I do think that the overall drink was on the sweeter side, but it seems that we can adjust the sweetness, so I'll definitely try to remember that next time! It seems they have a variety of other coffee based and matcha based drinks so I would definitely like to try the others next time! ~Pricing~ I do think it's a bit pricey (with most drinks being $7-8), but I think it's worth it to support local businesses! ~Parking~ Seems parking isn't the most plentiful, especially with the location being on a busy street, but there seemed to be open street parking spots. read more
This coffee shop has replaced zombie runner and we're so glad!! The interior is clean with lots of seating compared to before ( there was no seating at zombie runner). They have a myriad of drink options including matcha, lattes, and non-coffee drinks. At first i thought Robu was more a boba place but it is more coffee and matcha with non-coffee drinks. Has a Vietnamese fusion with viet coffee and pandan/coconut flavors. I got the matcha bc thats what i usually drink. The matcha tastes (the only way i can describe it) more ceremonial than uji if that makes sense. It's not izumi matcha flavor but it was still pretty good. I dont usually like cream in top with the espinner but it was closest to a normal matcha. My bf tried the robu signature latte and said he expected something different as it came with grass jelly which he doesnt like and more viet coffee milk tea flavor? But we still enjoyed and i liked taking sips of it. Also ordered the garlic bun and japanese egg sando. The garlic bun is with a lil soggy bun and not bagel which i've tried before and looks similar. Wasn't as good as that but i liked the rich cream and garlicy bread. The japanese sando was pretty good as well, i likes the ample egg inside and i def liked this more bc more protein. A tiny salty but not too much. Overall had a great experience, the manager was cheery and asked about the tastes and my bf went back the next day to try a different latte. I also want to try some new drinks and happy it's so close to my bf's place! read more
This place is a cute little family run coffee shop with decent amount of seating indoors and two tables outdoors by the new apt complex and the doggy daycare. Street parking (parallel on El Camino) seemed the most popular--I was able to snag a spot in the retail parking garage behind the doggy daycare. Strawberry matcha latte: interesting that they add condensed milk! I switched to oat milk, which is $0.80 more, but the drink was still exceptionally thick. One of the better strawberry matcha lattes I've had! It's definitely on the sweeter side. Matcha latte: this takes like cereal milk.... Extremely sweet, and matcha flavor wasn't very prominent. Does not taste like any other matcha latte I've had, which boils down to it being a preference thing. They have a unique menu, so I'd be down to come back and try other menu items! read more
What I liked about Robo coffee is that they had a coffee drink with black sesame. The black sesame drink was not too sweet had actual pieces of black sesame, and hit the earthy notes that I was looking for. Their coffee is very strong as expected so if that's what you're looking for come here. As for the strawberry sandwich, the cream seems to hold up for a very long time and has vanilla bean in it, which was a very nice touch. The bread itself was very pillowy and the strawberries were sweet due to it being close to summer. We would come again. read more

The banana pudding matcha is AMAZING! I used to drive 20 plus minutes for a good matcha spot. Now I can safely say this is the best matcha place I've had by far, and another plus is it's only 5 minutes from my house, no more 20 minute drives! read more
This shop is tucked underneath an apartment complex. There's a small retail parking garage available and some street parking. Had I come in the afternoon on a weekend I probably would have struggled to find a spot to park. The interior's quite small, but I am glad they've got some tables outside. There's a wide selection on their menu. I came to try the cherry blossom latte and personally the flavor from the cherry blossom cream top wasn't strong. It was a more subtle flavor and because of the creaminess the drink texture wasn't pleasant. The coffee flavor wasn't as pronounced, it definitely tasted more like a milk shake than coffee. I wanted to love it, but it was just alright. My sister tried their pandan latte and she had a somewhat similar experience. I'd like to try their other specialty lattes to give this shop another shot. They also have some pastries and fruit sandwiches which looked great. The price per sandwich averaged ~$12. The specialty drinks averaged ~$7-$8. read more

Tried this place when it first opened. It was hard to find parking because of its location but we eventually found it. There was no line but the drinks took a while to make. We got a Pandan Latte and a Banana Matcha Latte. The drinks were decent, nothing too extravagant but the presentation was definitely there. This place would be nice to study at but it's quite small with limited space. The customer service was great and the employees were very nice. Probably stop by if in the area since the drinks were decent price. read more
Stopped by for coffee after lunch last Sunday. We came at around 2:30pm. Parking can be limited as I don't think there's a lot. My bf and I found street parking, and my brother parked down the street in the Whole Foods plaza. I love the drink selection here, especially the different foams that they offer. I was stuck between the Cherry Blossom Latte and Coconut Pandan Latte. The person taking our orders recommended the Coconut Pandan Latte, so I ended up choosing that. The Coconut Pandan Latte was really good. The pandan foam mixed well with the coffee and created a creamy texture. I didn't care for the coconut flakes too much. I could've done without them, but that's just a personal preference. I asked for less sweet, and it was perfect. I would definitely want to come here again in the future and try their other drinks. read more
I got to try their Coconut Ube Latte and it tasted a lil watered down for me. Also I couldnt really taste the ube so it mostly just tasted like watered down coconut coffee. There was pretty limited parking up front when I had visited, but I saw a couple of reviews mention a parking structure/lot right before it. I tried the Vienna eispanner latte per the worker's recommendation as it is not as "heavy" as their other drinks. For me, this ended up not being my favorite sipping coffee, but once I had mixed in the cream with everything, it had a nice balance. The drink was slightly pricier than your average coffee drink but pretty on par with similar style drinks. Overall, really solid place if you're in the area! read more
We decided to give this place a chance in a Sunday afternoon . They have quite a few Vietnamese coffee options but the one w/o milk was out of stock , so I tried an Americano , which was....just ok (a little watery) Daughter tried the iced salted caramel latte . And despite her asking for low sugar it was way too sweet . Took a couple of sips and could not finish it We might give them another try to see how their special drinks are , but so far it's not looking great. read more
Quick service. Relaxing enviro, tables & chairs inside + outside. Decently priced for the area. Marble coffee is a creamy version of viet coffee & not as strong tasting. Yuzu could use a bit more of the yuzu bits & more minty otherwise refreshing. Wanted to try the egg coffee but they ran out, I'd have to come back another time earlier in the day, I came around 130 and they didn't have anymore. read more

Robu offers a different take on Vietnamese coffee and matcha. We came here on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy with a consistent flow of people coming into the store. Parking is pretty hard because if you miss the entrance to the parking garage it's either making a round about U-turn or finding street parking. We ordered a scallion bread, coconut pandan, and a yuzu matcha fizz. Since it was our first time we had a lot of questions and the cashier was more than happy to answer them and customize the drinks to our preferences. It took around 30-45 minutes for our drinks to come out and they forgot our bread order. The staff was very nice but it does seem like they're still trying to figure out order intakes and how to fulfill them. People behind us were getting their orders infront of us. When it comes to the drinks they were okay. My girlfriend enjoyed the coconut pandan since it had coconut bits and all the flavors went well together. The Matcha yuzu fizz had a lot of flavors in it but they all cancelled out because it didn't really taste like anything. I would say pass on the toppings because they don't give you too much for the price of the topping. The drinks are unique and are great to try once but I'm not sure I would come back to try other items. The scallion bread was okay as well, not sure if it's a fluke but our bread was half warm and half cold. Overall I will probably not be coming back as the experience was not that great and the food items didn't stand out. read more
