My husband MADE me come here to fix the broken screen on my iPhone. I didn't want to come here in the first place. They had fixed a virus on my daughter's lap top a few months ago and we are still getting pop-up's on it... So I already know their work is crappy. First their pricing is a little bit more expensive than other vendors. Second their customer service is terrible. The first guy who took my phone said one to two hours. At the latest 2:30. This is at 11:15. He had no knowledge of anything, couldn't answer a single question. Just kept saying "you have to ask Marco. I just opened the store" When I went back at 2:30 to pick up my phone, that same guy was sitting at a desk watching YouTube. Turned to look at me, then turned back to the computer to watch his pointless show. Not even a greeting. Marco was helping another customer with his laptop, and again no greeting, no "just one moment", no "I'll be right with you". Nothing. I'm annoyed at this point. After 10 minutes of waiting, Marco finally decides to help me and tells me that the screen just came in and I need to give them another half an hour. You've had my phone since 11:15 this morning!! No thank you give me my phone back!! They need to step up their customer service and communicate amongst each other a lot better. Will not be back! read more

I recently got my phone within the last month and this was two days before I cracked my iPhone 6 screen when I came in to get this done. I called in before to see how much it would be to replace the screen, I came in with my grandpa the same day and everything went fine with the process of turning it in. We couldn't kinda understand the guy (I don't know his name, Marco?) but he told us it would take about an hour to get it fixed.. But it was a little less time before he called in, which I couldn't even make out anything but the word 'done.' There was background noise and it seemed really rude after the call. When we came in to get my phone, I was super happy that it came back as a like-new screen because I've never dropped any of the phones I've had to be this severely cracked. When it was time to pay, my grandpa paid with his debit card, but the guy behind the counter kept swiping the card and my grandpa got mad because he has trust issues with being charged for unnecessary causes/reasons. But the guy said that there was something wrong with the system and kept saying he was sorry. So I had to pay the original amount in cash that I heard over the phone the first time I called in. Because if we'd pay with the card then he'd charge tax... A day or two after, my grandpa called me saying that the guy had charged his debit card even though I still paid with my cash. But my grandpa went to the bank and cut off that transaction.. AND the more I've been with my phone I noticed that my rear camera is blurry on one side and clear and fine on the other side. My front camera was cut off just an edge bit because I see a crescent gray space where the glass opens up on my front camera. Basically, the guy wasn't straight with putting in the replacing screen on. Which gives my thoughts about why he took less time with it. I want to be a future photographer and take nice, clear, close up pictures with my iPhone. Unfortunately, this operation stops me and I don't have the money to replace my phone just for the cameras.. I was disappointed when I noticed these flaws from the replacement. I just wanted to get my screen replace quick because I can't deal with a cracked screen because I've never broken one like this. I don't think I'll come back. Maybe, maybe not but I'm not a one to always be dropping my phone. read more

Tried to do a home repair on a MacBook Pro Retina that was out of warranty. Learned quickly why I should leave this to Robot Shark!! The batteries are glued to the casing and after getting the unit all ready to go I found it impossible for my skill sets to finish the replacement of the battery. Of course, I went to Apple in Oakridge after explaining what I had done and they asked me to come in. After 2 hrs I learned that they would not service the unit. Why they couldn't do this one the phone is beyond me. In any event, called Robot Shark and spoke to Marco. Told him what I had done and he said no problem He completed the job on time and on budget. Took our gaming desktop in to be built by Marco. We were given a good price for the build. Marco took his time making sure every part was working and when he found something wrong he went to the store and purchased the part himself to make sure we were up and running. We have been here a few times and had positive experience both times. They replaced the screen on my Iphone 6s plus quickly and priced well. We also brought my husbands phone in for a charging port replacement as it was no longer charging. We were told that it just needed a good cleaning which was done at no charge. It is not often that people are that honest and helpful. He could have easily changed the port and charged us. Appreciate the honesty. I brought my lap top in to be fixed because it wasn't turning on. I paid over $400 for the repair with Marcos. Marcos spent two weeks with my laptop. I had asked him to wipe it clean so it's like a brand new lap top. He did NOT DO WHAT I HAD ASKED. Instead he told me to just delete the profile on the desktop, which he did with me standing there. In less then a week I was having more issues with it. My laptop was asking me to update it, when I did my computer wouldn't work anymore or let me log in. When I brought it back to Marcos he said he would have to charge me an additional amount to fix it because it is software related. Before I would take my computer to San Jose and get it repaired or updated if needed. My experience with JB fix or Mac blow outs was same at both places their employees there kindly updated everything and made sure everything worked before releasing it back to me. Marco made me feel very uncomfortable because he was becoming confrontational instead of just taking accountability for obviously not thoroughly checking my computer and doing what I had asked originally. When I had asked for a receipt and itemized list of parts and expenses so I can show the next repair person what was done, he just gave me my money back and still was being confrontational. HUGE RED FLAG! That there told me he obviously is over charging for things and/or charging customers for stuff that he isn't really doing. Fast forward 45mins later I brought my lap top into the place I used to go before coming to robot shark/Marcos and they guy automatically knew what was going on and had said a lot of people have had the same problem it is NOT a software issue and he would update it and have it back to me tomorrow for only $95.00 As a local business owner I highly advise our community members to seek help else where. JB fix is a great local spot on first street. Robot shark is definitely NOT WHERE YOU WANT TO GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET A POOR JOB DONE AND FEEL ROBBED OF YOUR MONEY. I went to robot shark for a laptop repair and was very happy when they not only fixed it for a good price but it was done in two days :) I also brought a tablet in that wouldn't turn on because it was damaged. Marco Escobar of Robot Shark, an IT services and computer repair shop in Gilroy, worked on three of my laptop computers. One of them was infected with the ubiquitous Ad.doubleclick.net malware suite and one with the fairly rare Cassiopesa.com browser hijacker. Two of the computers were running Office 2007 with Windows 7 Home Premium; one ran no Office products but had Windows 2007 Professional installed. Finally, each of the two Outlook computers, older Lenovo X61's, were so overburdened with all of their software that they ran exceptionally slowly. After installing solid-state hard drives and higher-capacity RAM, Marco backed-up the personal folder (PST) files of the Outlook computers and reloaded the Microsoft products, removing all traces of the Ad.doubleclick.net malware. He then installed Outlook 2013 and set it to sync with my Gmail account. In addition, he informed me that the very slow internet speed I was experiencing could be remedied by changing from my non-cable service provider to Charter Business. Lastly, he cleaned up the computer running Windows Professional, ridding it of the Cassiopesa.com hijacker. Marco did all of this work over a two-week period, as my needs and desired became clearer, and he did with dispatch, precision, and good humor. I dropped off my MacBook Pro for a new upgraded hard drive and battery. He told me he would call when it was ready. In the meantime, my wife's hard-drive failed in her Mac. She went to the Apple store in San Jose. After waiting for almost 2 hours, she was told that they would need to order a new hard drive and that it would be about a week. I don't often have a computer problem I can't fix myself but several weeks back my 'D' drive (disc) packed up. A new, replacement hard drive wouldn't work when installed. After checking cables and a couple of other things I began to suspect I needed a new mother board. Before going thru that procedure I thought an inspection by a pro might be prudent. Not having used a computer repair shop near Morgan Hill, I checked Yelp found good reviews for RobotShark. A few days after taking my desktop in to Marcos, he called and told me the power supply had headed south. What a relief! A PS is a lot less than replacing a hard to find mother board. A couple of days later he had located a replacement PS, installed it and it was ready for pickup. The price was very reasonable and the repaired PC worked perfectly at home. On top of that, he had replaced a cable, cleaned up the cabling and de-dusted the inside of my PC. It looked like new inside & out. In short, a very satisfying experience with RobotShark.
