Their message said that they would contact me on Monday. They did. Julio came out to the house on Monday and after checking the circuit breaker box and doing some tests on the inside outlets, quickly solved the problem. Julio was pleasant, very professional and smart. The cost of his expertise was very reasonable and he could have found ways to increase the cost but he did not. Needless to say I am very impressed with Alley Electric and I do not impress easily. Alina, the woman who with whom I spoke, was as nice as she could be, and I appreciate this attitude, especially in today's world. From my initial contact, which was responsive and very pleasant, to the moment the tech walked out of my home after completing the work, the experience was stress-free and exceptional. I received a text 30 minutes before the tech arrived, and the text included a picture of who would be arriving to do the work. Great safety feature for situational awareness! When Olvin arrived, before I even had a chance to ask, he had already pulled shoe covers from his pocket and put them on, stepping into my home with the covered shoes (rather than putting the covers on outside and stepping on the porch, thus defeating the purpose). Olvin examined my 44-year-old master bath exhaust fan and provided a quote on the spot, after which he scheduled the actual work that would be done. I had already purchased the replacement fan, and was relieved when he told me that 1), the brand that I had purchased is the best brand on the market, 2), that brand is the only one they install (except for units supplied by the customer), and 3) they install this brand every single day. On the day for which the work was scheduled, I received a 30-minute ETA text with photo. Francisco, the electrician, got straight to work after asking a few questions. He was finished with the work in less than the quoted three hours (he had to cut the opening to accommodate the new fan unit and patch up after). I had expected to have to clean up dust and mop the floor after he left. However, none of this was necessary because he had covered the entire floor from the front door to the bathroom, AND the walls, shower, and vanity with 3mil plastic sheeting to prevent the settlement of dust. After testing the fan with me there to ensure everything was working properly, he gave me the option of paying on the spot or being invoiced (I chose the latter, as is my standard practice). The only con that I have is that Francisco changed the wall switch configuration. Previously, it was set so that switch #1 would turn on only the vanity lighting, and switch# two controlled the fan/fan light together. His reasoning was definitely valid, but I was so used to the way it was previously set. The issue with the new configuration is that it makes the bathroom too bright when I go in early in the morning, before my eyes have time to adjust after sleeping. I contacted customer service to let them know how pleased I was with the work and to mention the switch issue. The woman with whom I spoke immediately scheduled a follow-up visit, and a few days later, Olvin was dispatched to change the switch back. All said, I am exceedingly pleased with the Wire Tech Electric team, from intake to install to invoice, and highly recommend them! They will be my go-to electric company going forward!

Checking Yelp, S&B Electric was one of the first I saw that matched my criteria. After reading many of the reviews, I submitted a request for quote through Yelp (late October or early November 2025). I received an automated text response with a list of questions to answer. I responded accordingly. Below is a timeline of subsequent communications: 11/03/25 - I sent a text to S&B requesting confirmation of receipt of my information. No response. 12/05/25 - I called and left a voice message 12/06/25 - I called Stewart directly and received an automated response stating, "I'll call you back." I replied, "Thank you." 12/06/25 - Stewart returned my call. During the conversation, he requested a photo of the existing fan. I obliged and immediately sent a picture. When I sent the picture, I received another automated response with the same questions I had received before. I completed them again in response. I received no confirmation of receipt. 12/10/25 - I sent a follow-up text to Stewart. No response. 12/17/25 - I called Stewart again, and again received an auto response, "I'll call you back." No call back happened. I put the entire project on hold for the next five or six months and focused on other things. During this time, I received no communication from Stewart or anyone else from S&B Electric. Always wanting to give people the benefit of the doubt, I decided to try one final time. On 5/06/26, I sent another request for quote through the form on the S&B Electric website and received an immediate automated response confirming receipt of my request. As of 5/13/26, I still had received NO RESPONSE. At this point, I had completely given up. I understand that many people had wonderful and positive experience with S&B Electric, and that is what I had based my initial decision off of. However, when a business or representative thereof fails to at least extend the courtesy of just replying to say they cannot, for whatever reason, accommodate a request for service, that non-response is equivalent to poor service overall. That said, since I cannot speak to the quality of their work, I must base my review off of the facts above. If the amount of stars is based on that, it would be 0/5. Consequently, I ended up working with another locally/minority owned/operated contractor, who not only provided exceptional service from initial call to intake to invoice, but they also got the job done in less than three hours and will be my contractor for all future electrical needs in my current home, and future home.

After his repairs, the voltage immediately stabilized around 121-123 volts, even with the microwave running under load.
