These guys did a fantastic job adding 4 light fixtures, 2 outdoor GFCI, wiring some outlets etc. While these are relatively simple job, retrofitting a century old house comes with a lot of caveats. From Sal coming to provide a quote to them managing Berkeley's permitting regime to making sure everything is done to the strict code, they did everything well with great communication and avoided delays for my plaster and paint crew to start on time. I want to give a huge shout to Alex for his services today! Backstory is I got my couch professionally cleaned a couple weeks back, and the machine blew out 3 of my outlets!. Our electric wall heater wasn't working. Called Boyes on a Thursday afternoon and they came out the next morning. They found damaged/burnt wires inside the heater--a safety hazard! They checked the other heater and found the same thing, caused by the wire gauge being incompatible with the breaker capacity. The electrician Diego was terrific to work with. Earlier this year, we noticed that our microwave oven would occasionally trip the circuit breaker in the garage. We were able to rule out any issues with the appliance itself, and we were concerned there were issues with the wiring or the breaker. Boyes just completed the installation of our EV Charger in our garage. They (Oscar and companion) showed up promptly at 8:00 AM. Figured out how they were going to run the 240V wire from the outlet box on the side of the house into the crawlspace of the garage. It was not an easy task. I live in a 100 year old house. I had an active fuse box on the bathroom wall. I hired Boyes Electric to do an entire house rewire. Initially, I hired Boyes in Dec. 2023 to install a new electric panel outside the house, plus remove the old fuse box. Dylan & Diageo worked on the partial rewire. I was so pleased with their work, that I had Boyes come back in June 2024 to completely rewire the rest of my house. On the second job, Dylan (Lead electrician) & Raul worked on my house. The Boyes teams did excellent work on both jobs. They use high quality materials (Siemens electric panel). They do not do shortcuts or cheap materials to make their bid cheaper. At the end of each day, the team cleans up the area that they were working on by removing plastic sheeting & vacuuming. Just over a year ago I had Boyes come out to assess a problem with some string lighting in my condo I was preparing to sell. Yes, I should've written this review a long time ago. Their communication was responsive and extremely patient. We ultimately decided to remove the string lighting and replace with a more simplified track lighting option, and the result was better than I could have hoped for. wished I had completely the improvement much sooner, so I could enjoy it longer. But, it was Boyes' ability to explain the problem and provide solutions with ing the parameters I was looking for that brought us to the improved outcome.
