I had a small task lamp that wasn't working. Eric quickly determined that the LED bulb had come apart, removed the piece that was stuck in the fixture, and tested the fixture to see if it worked - which it did. I tried to buy a bulb but they don't carry many LED lights so they didn't have one on hand, but Eric wouldn't charge me for his time. Highly recommend this store for their service! read more

Mark is so knowledgeable, he helped me with fixing my night light and explained what type of wiring was inside and the reason it burned out as well as what may happen as years progress. Support this business, these type of stores are few and far between. My Tiffany style lamp purchased in the early 2000s needed a cord rewire, the job was done seamlessly and now has 2 different levels of brightness to choose from, previously it only had 1 option. Recently I purchased a lovely milk glass fixture from Omega. Thanks Mark! I thought of Omega when I needed a very specific light bulb and because of Covid-19, was reluctant to go into a store and search for a replacement. I sent him a photo of the bulb and he found the perfect replacement. I purchased eight of them over the phone and just had to run in and pick up the order. This was not an expensive order but he treated it as if it was! Also, a few years ago, we needed the sockets of two 15 year old over-the-sink light fixtures replaced. He did a great job. I don't think I can say enough about Omega One or Two. If you can dream it, they've probably got it. If you've pulled your hair out trying to find on the intar-webs, they probably have several kinds. Simply put, if you want home items, specifically the building blocks of any good home abode then this is the place you have to go. This is like Home Depot meets the greatest wrecking yard ever conceived of for vintage, unique, hard to find, impossibly beautiful craftsman home details and architectural pieces you can imagine. Our home has a small cut out viewing door called a SpeakEasy door. I went to Hundleys (FAIL), called high and low looking for this rare piece of hardware, searched the web and no dice. I finally called Omega and viola, they had two pieces and one that was a near match for our door, closer than anything we had seen in catalogs or online. Not to mention the folks here are super cool, took pictures of the pieces and emailed them to me and have handy individuals that can do custom metal and cabinetry. This may be the best lighting and design store on the West Coast--and that isn't hyperbole. A guest has not come into our recently remodeled kitchen and not had a compliment about the lights. "They're bespoke," I explain. "But is that a some kind of transmission part," my gear head friend asks, looking at an accent on the dangling pendent. "Yes, from a '49 Chrysler," I answer. "Our designer found out I like old cars." If you want one-of-a-kind illumination, come here. They have a beautiful showroom with lots of unique inventory. Or, do what we did and have them make you something completely custom. We have two unique pendents and seven sconces, so far. This company was a total hit for us. Vanessa pulled a 1930's slip shade out of her hat that worked perfectly on a fixture I thought would just have to remain a bare bulb or be replaced entirely. It was beautiful - and rare - and reasonably priced. Her shop is so chock full of unusual period finds - not just lighting - that we spent far more time just taking it all in than expected. I was able to find an Art Deco item for my bathroom that was only available online - from the UK. Omega was a jackpot for us and we'll be back. read more

I can't rave enough about Omega! I came into their shop after visiting all the big lighting businesses in SF and the East Bay as well as several boutique lighting shops around the bay area. I had a difficult lighting challenge to solve and not one place could help me. When I walked into Omega, I was greeted immediately by a helpful staff and at that point met Judi. Judi didn't have an immediate "NO, we can't help you," but instead, listened to me and then came up with a creative solution. Not only that, but she personally babysat and participated in the creation of a custom lighting solution that I desperately needed. I've long ogled their gorgeous, gorgeous (if pricey) lighting from all eras - and I finally bought one of their customized funky-industrial numbers (marrying an old-timey photographer's stand to a pearly globe) a few months ago. Too bad it was way too large and clashed with everything in my house - I had to return it, though absolutely no worries from Omega Too. Recently I asked them to rewire, replace the sockets, and generally retrofit a few lovely old fixtures: an arts and crafts pendant and an art deco chandelier. Fabulous! Blaine did a fantastic job, made an effort to charge us as little as possible, took into consideration our aesthetic concerns, and did it so quickly I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around it! Get them to rewire anything you've got! They'll actually return your phone calls, too - unlike Dogfork, which completely blew me off. read more

Great stuff, probably too pricey for me to take home (hence the having to move in), with friendly staff that smiles and says hello to let you know they are available, but doesn't follow you around, hovering. They even told me to feel free to take photos, which I thought was really cool. I am drooling over an old chicken feeder turned light, and might have to bite the bullet and pick it up. I never spoke to Mark B the Owner. I never specifically asked for my chandelier to "make just like new" ever in my original conversation when I brought the light in. I specifically asked for a broken socket to be fixed as I exclaimed what a gorgeous antique light fixture I owned! The light was a combination of patina brass and patina brushed steel. Omega Lighting took the patina off the brass. When the workshop called me I told them that all my lights had the patina of Baldwin Hardware Finish 050 Which is Satin Brass and Black. My light never had a nickel finish that was pitted and rubbing off in places. No one ever walked me through the work upon pick up. The light was tightly wrapped in plastic. The saleswomen carried the heavy light out to my car and packed it in my trunk for me. I saw the light the first time when my contractor unpacked it and hung it. It was never explained to me that payment was acceptance of the work done. I did not come back a month later. I picked up the light on 12/21/2018. My contractor unpacked the light, hung the light and repacked the light on 12/24/2018. Then the holidays happened. I returned the light Wednesday, 1/2/2019. I have proof of all my claims. I have close up pictures of my original brushed steel patina and brass patina light before you destroyed it. I will bring to court the awful shiny pitted nickel plating you put on my light and the destroyed brass patina. Vanessa B lied when I tried to return the light. Mark B is lying in his Yelp response. The Peoples Court TV Program wanted to nationally televise our court case but Omega Lighting refused to defend itself on national television. We have a court date on March 19th in Small Claims Court. I had a light fixture where I needed a new longer cord made. I called several other local shops before Omega; all the shops did not have either the cord or the expertise to replace the cord. I wish I would have called Omega first! Mark was excellent, he had the patience and experience to offer me a couple of options to remedy the repair. I go to every lighting store in town, and no one can match the style and diversity of this store. Excellent customer service and repair work, even small questions. Some of my most precious objects in my home, my copper lamp with glowing jewels, a see-through bead lamp (custom made at Omega) that reflects stars on my ceiling, my second-hand modern bathtub (yes they sell bathroom fixtures) deep as a Japanese tub. Unlike another store with a shorter, but similar name who buys items dirt cheap from locals and sells at exorbitant prices, I prefer Omegatoo's fair prices for restored and custom ordered lights. Just fun to drop in to see the beauty of lights and authentic craftsmanship. read more

This place is wonderful, great selection of light fixtures and other items, and we have bought several things from them for our home remodel. However, their salespeople can be incredibly grumpy and difficult to deal with. I just had a conversation on the phone with Bella, who was unhelpful and condescending when I explained that an expensive fixture we bought from them is defective and cannot be installed. Instead of offering to help, we engaged in a frustrating conversation, and she ended up asking me "what would you like me to do?" Um, hello, perhaps provide some customer support, you know, as in proactively figuring out how to replace the defective parts instead of acting as if I am interrupting your coffee break! read more

I visited this store recently and was amazed at what they had to offer. They have some incredible lights and an awesome sales person. She really knew the products and was strong on period peices. As I was about to leave I spotted two lights that were calling my name. I asked to see them on. Since they went connected the associate offered to bring it down and connect it up. Well suddenly the owner and her henchmen interrupted us and sent the sales person off to lunch. Then proceed to tell me that all lights are the same and that the light bulb makes the difference. So they take the light bulb out stick it into the light bulb contraption and said "See!" Completely missing the point! When a person is thinking about spending a grand with your business turn on the light fixture so the person can get an idea what the fixture looks like lit up! read more

We hadn't been to the store in a few years but returned yesterday in order to introduce a friend to this treasure trove of "one offs" and "hard to finds". They have an amazing inventory of lighting fixtures both in their original beauty, as well as cobbled into a brand of beauty somehow new and yet still distinctly vintage. While we were showing our friend what was available for her project, a sink caught our eye (they have those as well) which we wanted to buy, though unfortunately it did not come in antique white as we desired. We considered another sink as a second choice but weren't quite sure of either the sink design nor whether the antique-ish color in question (puzzlingly called "balsa") would match our existing tile and fixtures. The woman who helped us (Bella) was so kind and helpful that she actually removed their in-store porcelain sample from the manufacturer's ordering catalogue, and told us we could take it home if we promised to return it. She even wrote out a self addressed padded envelope and attached postage. She was so helpful that my wife and I actually felt bad when, after further contemplation, we decided the second choice sink was not quite right for us. Sorry we didn't settle on the purchase Bella, but thanks for being so helpful. Your porcelain sample is on its way back to the store. read more
