I visited this store recently and was amazed at what they had to offer. They have some incredible lights and an awesome sales person. She really knew the products and was strong on period peices. As I was about to leave I spotted two lights that were calling my name. I asked to see them on. Since they went connected the associate offered to bring it down and connect it up. Well suddenly the owner and her henchmen interrupted us and sent the sales person off to lunch. Then proceed to tell me that all lights are the same and that the light bulb makes the difference. So they take the light bulb out stick it into the light bulb contraption and said "See!" Completely missing the point! I never thought I'd have so much fun in a salvage yard. Seriously, this place is awesome. If you are remodeling your home or into do it yourself home improvement projects do not miss this place. Rows and rows of sinks, bathtubs, light fixtures, door knobs and other knick knacks. Beautiful period pieces, my favorite find were these beautiful, ornate gilded doors that had been salvaged from some estate. I could spend hours here and I also found my dream bathtub. Omega Lighting & Design offered to do an on the spot repair of a light fixture for my daughters living room ceiling fixture! That meant we could drive away and rehang it all in the same day. What amazing service. While the repair was being done, I enjoyed viewing the highly creative one of a kind fixtures made from an array of objects and parts as well as a terrific selection of antique fixtures. Prices were very reasonable as compared to the New York shop I was last in a month ago. I will be back for sure when I need any lamp related items. These people have the WORST customer return policy ever and are severely stuck in the stone ages when it comes to any electronic credits/ payments. I made a large purchase and received a credit for a returned light fixture. The credit was on on a piece of paper which I unfortunately lost. When I went back a few weeks later to purchase additional fixtures, they were completely INFLEXIBLE in honoring my store credit- even though they knew me and understood I lost it. The staff was completely unsupportive, powerless and unreasonable. The owners were nowhere to be found- you would think they want to have good customer relations I will never give these guys my business and they are still sitting with $300+ of my money. read more

I got a frankenstein mashup of old light parts that someone made in to a pretty snazzy pendant lamp for my mom's remodeling project, boy this turned out to be an investment. but it's beautiful and the shade is awesome, and it fits perfectly in the house. read more

I have purchased five different fixtures for my 1920's bungalow over 15 years. No other lighting shop can compare. I always come back to Omega Lighting. Sure they have super expensive fixtures that are gorgeous, and unique but not for my budget. They also have one of a kind gems that fit perfectly with my decor. The older vintage fixtures were very reasonably priced. The repros are also reasonable. Sometimes I don't find exactly what I want so I wait and return another time and voila -- just what I was looking for, and didn't even know it. It's fun to go to this high-end boutique and still be able to find something without a huge dent to the wallet. They will even exchange a fixture I've had for a long time and give half credit towards a new purchase, thereby recycling the old fixture. I did once have a bad experience with a very snooty saleswoman. There were wall sconces I was drooling over. She acted like they weren't for me because at the time I didn't have the electrical boxes set up because it was an old house. I knew I could pay an electrician to make it work. However I left there believing that it wasn't possible. By the time I found an electrician and went back to the shop the sconces were sold. I was heartbroken and didn't want to go back there. Finally I ended up buying two overhead fixtures that worked perfectly and probably better than the sconces. I'm glad I went back even though I had such a bad experience. I went back because they have the best inventory and reasonable prices. I remember talking to the owners about the incident. They were very apologetic and gave me a discount on my purchase. People make mistakes. It's always good to give a business a chance to win back your trust. Especially an independent local business. read more

This store is amazing! My interior designer purchased a chandelier for us through an authorized distributor and when the electrician opened the container to install it we realized we were sold a completely defective model. The electrician suggested taking it to Omega Lighting and they nearly had to rebuild the chandelier. Mark and Vanessa are extremely talented, professional and helpful! Bottom line is that they were able to repair the light and return in to me in enough time for Thanksgiving! I highly recommend them! Two other lighting stores refused to even try to fix the chandelier and Omega did so impeccably! Don't go anywhere else! read more

Although the original owner was grumpy, he loved his shop and helped me pick and find the perfect items for my homes. I needed a whole lotta lights on a fairly modest budget, and I didn't think I could afford the stuff here. But it turns out that they can make you custom lights that are really pretty affordable. And Vanessa, one of the owners, is a frickin genius at coming up with solutions to weird house things (one of my bathroom junction boxes is right up against a windowframe and off-center from the sink to boot, and she brainstormed a really beautiful fixture). She has worked with me on the lighting for the whole house, and I have been totally thrilled with the entire process. read more

This company has unusual hard to find lights, and if they don't have what you are looking for they will make it for you. :) Also they have a huge selection of drawer pulls, door knobs and plumbing fixtures. It's simple - the store is remarkable, the staff and owners are amazingly knowledgeable and helpful and the product range is not the usual catalogue garbage you find everywhere. great unique place. i've spent several thousand $ there on custom made lights. they make mistakes. they're not ethical when that happens. they make the customer pay. understandable if the mistake were the customer's error, but if a lighting company doesn't have the expertise to help their clientele make the proper choice on items, they should say so, then a person can find the information elsewhere before ordering. i've decided to take my business elsewhere as this has come up too often & cost too much. they hide mistakes such as pretending a freshly drilled hole in a glass light fixture is supposed to be there, etc., on & on. they need some good competition. unconscionable to treat any customer the way i've been treated. read more
