Electrical work can be a bit scary. I usually try to do simple projects myself, but when it's not a switch or plug, I start getting nervous. Such was the case with a Sense energy monitor I began to install in my main panel last week. After doing some of the preliminary work, I realized that I was a bit out of my depth. Natalie upgraded our main panel to 200 amps. The work she did was solid. However, we were disappointed in her communication and responsiveness. Scheduling was hard to pin down. She said she would make our old panel into a sub panel but just removed the old panel instead. It will be an extra expense for us to add a sub panel later since we'll likely need more room. In addition, there were a few loose ends she said she'd help with but never did. While she is competent, we'll find another electrician in the future who is more reliable and communicative. read more

Well, no longer will I need to dread calling an electrician!! * Natalie rocked our wold when she transformed our ten canister lights to beautiful LED lights that'll last 20 years: they look awesome and up to date now. * She exchanged several of our standard outlets for those that now include USB ports -- WOOT! Ease of use increased drastically around here. * We had a plug that had no power to it..like literally, it was a dummy plug: nothing had ever been run to it! I know - another 5-star review for Valencia Electric - is this for real? Yes, it's for real! Natalie is as good as it gets! I hired Natalie for what initially started as a small project but morphed into a large one. Natalie did the following: - swapped out can lights in my dining room, entryway and hallway - replaced the dining room light w a fixture - replaced my entryway light w a pendant - replaced my hallway light w a recessed light - installed bar pendants - installed recessed lighting in my kitchen (and removed the existing track lighting). Less glamorous, but greatly appreciated, she also updated: - all my outlets and light switches w new plates/covers - installed a timer on my outside light - installed a programmable wall thermostat for my baseboard heater which was originally controlled by an on-unit dial with no temperature settings. Service: Natalie was extremely patient and obliging when I kept adding things to the list of items I wanted updated. She never once hesitated to come out to give me updated estimates, all at my convenience on the weekends. She was punctual and extremely polite. She is quick to respond to emails and address any questions you may have. Since I have extremely limited experience doing electrical upgrades and repairs, her responsiveness and transparency made my experience really awesome. We had a not so straight-forward light installation. We initially hired a supposed highly-rated diamond certified company for the job. The end result was appalling. It didn't even begin to resemble what we asked for and what was agreed upon. We were left with unsightly wiring and a light fixture dangling in an unstable fashion from the ceiling. When we asked them to fix it and do what was agreed upon, we got these elaborate excuses for why it would be too difficult and cost prohibitive. Needless to say, we felt totally scammed. We couldn't leave the fixture in that state, so we carefully started looking again for an honest and competent electrician. Enter Natalie and Valencia Electric. I found Natalie off Amazon local deals for a buddy's restaurant (which has since folded) whose outlets were constantly on the fritz- seriously the lights and registers went on and off so often, the customers cracked jokes that we had a damned poltergeist in the fuse box. Great experience having my pottery kiln wired with Valencia Electric! Natalie was responsive, professional, and did a very tidy job. She came out to give me a quote right away when other electricians spent lots of time on the phone asking me questions that they could answer much more easily with a quick visit. When the estimate looked out of my range, Natalie explained that the specialty cable for the kiln was very pricey (and I needed 70' of it) but she helped me find a cheaper source, as well as giving me the appropriate specs so I could look for it second hand online since I was really trying to cut costs. Another electrician told me I had to source the cable entirely myself, and he couldn't even tell me what I needed; it was practically impossible to know what to look for.
