I fell into this intriguing Antique store on the main st. of Park Ave. It has 2 levels of pretty much anything ranging from Furniture, clothes, knick knacks and various things which are anything that constitutes as " antiques". I had bought a Hockey Jersey which has the infamous Friday the 13th villain but definitely in mint condition never worn. Sports memorabilia and Throwback jerseys and hats. A quaint store with good lighting and friendly staff, this thrift shop isn't big but does curate a nice little collection - I saw cute tops, dresses, scarves, handbags, and jewelry. Everything was tidy and in its right place. I'm not sure if there's a dressing room since I didn't use one, but there are plenty of mirrors around the store that you can use. Bonus: all proceeds go towards their affiliated animal rescue! I picked up a patterned skirt and T-shirt here for less than $20, and my friend got a few items as well. Checking out was easy breezy, and they let us know that they're able to take most donations (though if you have anything large, best to call in ahead of time). All in all, not much more I can ask for a pleasant thrifting experience.

Really, I thought immediately the place was out of my price range, but a friendly stranger told me I should go look inside, offering that you could do cute date nights and make your own scents here, but then she assured me the place was black owned, and I HAD to at least see what gems were hiding inside. And there were so many! Bath salts you could mix to bring home, an oil scent lab, and all sorts of adorable accessories that caught my eye: lacy socks, perfect for Docs; some earrings at a great price point; and some sunglasses that no one else will be wearing ANYWHERE, for a mere $20! The woman working the store was just so friendly, and told us to cash is Queen in here store, if you know what I mean? But, I've found my favorite place to invest my modest disposable income at when I'm in Alameda. I'll be back to crate an oil scent roller...for $15! That's absurd. And it was sweet the store has my father's name: To Herb With Love. My mom must've been sending me angel messages.

When someone passes on and leaves a whole bunch of stuff behind it can be overwhelming and be a real headache. Debbie and Jennifer and their team came through, gave me an estimate and we got the estate sale scheduled, completed and all the rest of the stuff that didn't sell was donated to benefit a cancer research company. I recently came back, and this review is primarily for that experience. The store itself is warm (at times uncomfortably so) but they do absolutely everything they can to keep folks comfortable while shopping including cold water, a fan by the books that is incredible, and they have some seats where one can rest if they get overly warm. I suspect the store temp itself is out of their control given the care with which they make their customers comfortable. As i wandered, Ash checked in on me several times. It was never in a way that made me feel watched or uncomfortable, and always about different products I was looking at, checking to see if I had any questions. The amount of attention felt personal but not overbearing as some small shops like this can be. We had a bit of a fun chat about crystals, which is one of his specialties. I will say the products there are high quality, and some of the prices reflect it. While some things were more than I'd prefer to spend for the item, it wasn't because the value isn't there, it just meant I couldn't buy thr whole store, although I wish I could have! I bought a statue, some items in jars, a cast iron mini cauldron because I use them for safe burning in ritual, and a fairy stone that was unique and calling me. I finished with an impromptu 20 minute tarot reading from Isabella. I have been reading tarot cards 27 years, and haven't had a professional reading in almost a long, but it just felt right in the moment. It was a general reading about my next life steps, and while the specifics are my own to hold onto, I will say that the information she shared directly reflected some very specific things about my life. I generally view tarot less as predictive and more as an exercise in reflection or reading influences, and this met that and then some. There were even a couple of times that specific things were mentioned that while I remained neutral didn't quite fit my way of being (little things like writing vs voicing thoughts), and as soon as the initial statement was made, she would say or.. and then say the exact alternative that would be more aligned with my personality. The fact that it happened at least 3 times, and that it wasn't just a series of examples but almost a self correction to what aligned with my energy, told me a lot about the connection Isabella has to her clients. In addition to the incredibly on point reading, she had such a warm and welcoming energy that I'm already tempted to plan my next reading, even though the reading reinforced my intuition about what I should be doing. Reading your own cards is great, but sometimes your opinions and bias can prevent you from considering other options. Having an incredible reader like Isabella available to give an outside read is a great tool. I will absolutely be back!

Every first Sunday you can find some hidden gems at Alameda Flea. From DVD, VHS tapes, rustic…read morepaintings, clothing, rugs to beer steins - there is no shortage of items. However, the parking situation can be quite tedious when arriving after 10am. The entrance fee varies based on the time you come in, with the most expensive being when they open at 6am ($20). My family and I got there around 11am and it was a $10 entrance fee. They do allow re-entries so long as you get a handstamp before exiting. Today was my first time visiting and I was taken aback by how pricey a lot of items were - especially the clothing. Many were priced higher than new items. The food vendors present were underwhelming. We had Donna's Tamales and it was quite bland and overpriced. They charged me $18 for 2 corn chili tamales. My husband and I had hoped to find some items for our new spot, but left empty handed. Not sure I will be back for how marked up the items were.

Door was locked and the curtains were drawn... Waited 5 minutes and knocked on the doors but still no answer. I peeked between the curtains and saw that the lights were also turned off. Very mysterious place.
