Thank you Barbara for authorizing a return. Daisy's is like a car dealership. If you purchase anything on clearance, it is final sale. We are going our separate ways as if it was an interview. Barbara said "you bought it two weeks ago... we're not a good fit." I never really enjoyed the luxury of shopping at Daisy's and all their cute but cheaply made products. I only was a customer because I'm a sucker for impactful quotes. Those brown overpriced quote cards were my main attraction but not worth the animosity. It is disappointing that I feel like and have observed the owners religiously inspecting people with their eyes creating a sense of hostility. Because God forbid someone shoplifts. As much as how I do not agree with stealing, it happens still. But to have a toxic culture that's based in policing the floors, this negative store culture is vivid and this kind of perception creates an atmosphere that is not welcoming. Very cute localish store in Alameda that sells from unique pieces of clothings, cooking items to home furnishing. It has many unique pieces and the store is very cute and whimsical decors. Items are unique that cannot be found in the big mortar stores. Supporting the small and local businesses are ideals. I can only imagine it would be more magical for the Christmas displays at the store. read more

This place is insufferable during the holidays. Starting mid November they begin blasting Christmas music into the sidewalk. And not even normal Christmas music. Short music box style snippets that are about 20 seconds long each and on a loop. I think the whole playlist repeats every 2 minutes. It's maddening. Makes it impossible for people eating on the side walk seating areas to enjoy themselves. It's so selfish it's insane. How has the merchant association not told them to knock it off? read more

I've been shopping at Daisy's for over 10 years and always have a wonderful experience. The owners and staff members make the store look beautiful throughout the seasons and holidays. I would give them 0 stars if I could. SUPER RUDE! While I was wandering Park st, I stumbled in to browse jewelry but as soon as I walked in, an older man yelled at me asking me "did you just walk in?!" So I said, yeah it's that ok? And he just yelled at me saying they're full, he was asking but the time was really, accusing me of not reading the chalkboard outside of the store saying they're full. Seriously? Firstly, if you are limiting the number of people in the store, maybe you should stand at the door, instead of waiting until people walk in to kick them out. Secondly, the sign needs to be at eye level. I understand these are COVID times but you need to make it more obvious rather than yelling at the customer and then kicking them out. Luckily, I've had good experiences every time I've gone to Daisy's. I hope they read feedback from the unhappy shoppers and make adjustments to ensure that everyone leaves Daisy's feeling good. This charming, local shop reminds me a lot of Anthropologie. They have a small, but beautifully curated selection of clothing, jewelry, stationery, gifts, and home goods. A sweet little shop with truly unique, quality gifts. You can find a nice gift for virtually anyone here. They have all kinds of beautiful knick-knacks, jewelry, ceramics, perfumed candles, quirky books, etc. etc. And it's all great quality, items you will not find at big-box retailers. I'm generally a minimalist and not a fan of too much 'stuff', but I've bought a number of gifts here for friends over the years, I like their products so much. Love Daisy's! It's rare that I come in and don't end up buying anything. I haven't been since they've reopened but I'm planning to! I follow them on IG and newsletter and know they've put a lot of Covid Times safety in place with hand sanitizers, wearing, and limitation of people in the store. First I have trouble walking so I sat Down in front of the store. They had a sectioned off area with four tables and chairs for people waiting to go in the store. As I was waiting to go in the store and my husband was getting ice cream a woman came out, I think the owner of Daisy's. She was terribly rude, unfriendly and told me I couldn't sit here. She further said this is for our customers only. Keep in mind that two of the four tables people were eating ice cream but she never once went up to them and asked them to get up. I don't know what the store was like because her tone of voice and the decibel at which she scolded me was enough to embarrass me. Next time make sure you know who you're asking to get up because you could be insulting customers or somebody could be experiencing duress. Also if you're going to make one person get up make the other four as well that are eating ice cream. I watched them walk away and none of them shopped in your store. You get an F in politeness and friendliness. I don't know how you stay in business. read more

I've only had positive experiences in this store. In fact, it's one of my favorites in Alameda. Seems there are an equal number of 1-star and 5-star reviews, so of course it's all subjective, as opinions are. In any case, I love browsing here, so many little items, great for gifts. I have many eclectic items in my home, as well. I find the prices reasonable. They have sales, a rewards program, and a 20% discount during your birthday month. I am SO surprised to see any negative reviews about Daisy's. I love this store and the owners are lovely people! I've been going here for unique gifts for over 10 years. I buy things for other people here, but I also have bought countless things for myself at this boutique. It's hard not to - there's something for everyone. Items I've found at Daisy's - from luxurious blankets, to wall art, to candles etc - have made my home feel cozier and fancier. Their buyers have a really unique eye and I feel so grateful to have this shop in town (especially when I'm in a pinch for a last-minute gift!). Their gift wrap exceeds my expectations every time, and that's a huuuge plus for me because I can't stand gift wrapping. If you haven't been in, give them a visit! These people do not deserve your time and money. The owner mistreats her customers and staff. I don't want to leave you with an ambiguous statement like this but the TL/DR version is: Please do not support this small business. Alameda does not need terrible people treating customers and employees poorly, selling overpriced goods in the community. Why? The negative reviews are true. They happened to me and my partner. After browsing the store, my partner and I left and walked up toward the theatre. Mind you, that day we where both well dressed, and I am in my 40's with gray hair and my partner is in her 30's. As we passed by "Troy" a young woman from the store with her boss in tow ran up behind my partner and said "miss! You where just in our store and we SAW you steal a crystal!" Now I will not get into the fact that my partner does not care for woo woo crap. I will not talk about the fact that the only rules my partner likes bending are gender rules. I will say though, that she has never been accused of, nor committed, a crime in her 34 years. At this we both looked confused, and were then pressed by the employee to come back to the store to look at the video they captured. My partner became more and more upset as our day was ruined by all of this. She offered to open her purse and bags on the spot. After my partner emptied out her purse and pockets voluntarily to reveal no rocks -gasp- the owner had to shoo away customers who went to investigate the sobbing woman in the back of the store. We watched their video "evidence" that showed my parter touching rocks then reaching for and pulling out her phone! The owner never said a word to me or my partner, and no apology was offered. We finally left. Here is the thing, the real problem. 1) What did they want by chasing us down the block and around the corner? The rock? The shame of my partner? An epic battle? What? They never said. 2) The young woman who was doing the investigation and talking to us, was in no way supported by her employer. The employer never said a word to us. What kind of employer takes no responsibility for directly handling the security of her shop? Maybe a coward? Or a lazy manager? Or an employer who has no regard for her employees. It's just a guess. 3) After we where interrogated, cleared and freed, we got NO APOLOGY. No apology of any kind. Wtf? Really? So please! Don't shop here. I'm not saying anyone should actively harm there business by going there, looking at there overpriced goods and then buying them on Amazon in front of the owner (she's the old one). I'm just saying that this person does not deserve to run this small business. Thanks for reading. read more

This is one of those quaint little shops on Park. The whole atmosphere is very vintage romance chic. It feels very homey. They sell whimsical things. Not very useful but it will appeal to some people. I did like their whole stationery/scrapbooking section toward the back of the store. Paper, ribbons, and cards galore. Loved it. I am a fan of homemade stationery and personalizing gifts. I loved their necklaces too. One of a kind and unique. I have to go back to get the one I want. Guys, this is the perfect spot to get your girlfriend/fiance/wife a unique necklace. She'll love it...I know I would. :) Shops like this make me want to move to Alameda. From the outside, the store looks cute and inviting. However, this business really lacks the basics of customer service. The family that seems to own this place does not know how to treat people like human beings and will watch you throughout the store as if you were planning to steal. There is this unwelcome environment being created and I really felt like I was being targeted for simply wanting to browse through their products. I also witnessed them being disrespectful to their own staff, which is overall very unprofessional. My favorite gift store in Alameda. I have been going here since it opened and have never been disappointed. I always find what I need and, if I'm struggling there is always a staff member or the owner (sometimes both) to help me out. I always find unique little gifts that don't break the bank. And, I am always treated very well, no matter the amount I'm spending. The owner has exquisite taste and there is a wide variety of gifts to choose from without the store being too overwhelming. I thought I was being slightly oversensitive this afternoon when I thought the owner of Daisy's was a cold snob, but, CLEARLY, after reading the multitude of reviewers complaining about the same thing, I was right to feel the way I did. We walked in and I saw the woman look right at me, but any shred of a cheerful greeting, any hint of a smile, were nonexistent. I saw a dish of lovely looking lipgloss on the counter and asked her how much they were, and she haughtily replied that they were $17 each, with the slightest hint of "I'm not so sure you can afford it" in her voice. Oh I can afford it. I'm just not willing to throw nearly twenty bucks down the toilet for a two-inch long tube of lip gloss that has nothing special about, or to a woman that's too busy standing behind a counter doing nothing important to actually greet her customers or engage in any kind of customer service. This place is actually really pretty inside, and the only reason I gave it an extra star is because I enjoy their greeting cards - they remind me of the cards Papyrus sells, but smaller and not quite as nice. The decor in here is great and it has a sunny, bright feel that encourages you to keep looking around. It's just too bad the owner encourages you to leave instead. And so do her prices. read more

I went in there wearing a 3 piece suit and tie and my girlfriend who was equally dressed well picked up a rock and put it back down we kept looking around being eyed by the staff the whole time, and when we left the chased us down the street and accused her of shoplifting. Kudos to them for not profiling us I guess. We emptied our stuff showed that nothing was in her purse or pockets and we left. The boss didn't even talk to us or apologize.
