I'm not a five star person but I had great experience purchasing from Riverside Mazda. Jose - sales person Jose to the general manager to the finance person Brisa. I think more than anything I appreciate the no haggle - got a good deal. Treated well - professional and courteous. I purchased the extended warranty and maintenance package because I wanted it. Overall I would do business with the dealership again - drove quite a ways too - plan on purchasing a Miata in the new future. read more

Great customer service, they made everything simple and pretty fast. I past by other dealerships but they would take extremely long time periods to get back at me . Thank you Mazda, and specially Kevin, love my new car!! read more

I tried getting my CX-5 serviced at Riverside Mazda. With the COVID-19 situation right now, they offered a complimentary No Contact Pick Up and Delivery service that expires June 30, 2020. However, when I called to make an appointment for service and wanted to make use of the No Contact Pick up service, I was told that they no longer offered the service and my call got redirected 4 times. In the end my call got dropped after being on hold for 20 minutes. I received in the mail their service specials on June 17th promoting the free no contact pick up delivery service and checked the expiration date of the promotion online, which is June 30. Why have the promotion and send mail for it if Riverside Mazda is not going to honor it? Very disappointed. read more

Bought my second Mazda today and couldn't be happier! I went in for a just an oil change and came out with a new car baby. I made my appointment for my car service just the day before and while I'm there I occasionally like to check and see what the new models look like, if they have any new features, promos or deals going on. I checked in with Marcos and Alex while I was there, since they helped me through my car buying process last time and found out that the car I was driving has since been updated with more than a few new features. While I waited, I saw no harm in test driving the new model and lo and behold, she road so smooth... Now don't get me wrong, I typically don't just jump in a new car to test drive, especially while waiting for my car to finish at service AND especially not when I don't plan on buying a car in the near future; but I'm glad I did. Marcos took me for a test drive in the M-3 Hatchback 2017 Grand Touring in the soul red and the sea blue, the soul red was the same model and color I had now and loved how it drove. It had a sport option and picked-up a lot quicker than my 2.0L because it now came 2.5L which gave for a smoother ride and transition when I needed to pick up speed. The steering wheel has a heating capability for those cold nights, new speedometer feature, two-tone leather, the charging station and USB/AUX unit in a better location, especially when riding with friends in the car that want to play their music and a bigger and deeper center console. When we got back, I realized that I loved the blue just a tad bit more and decided that it might be THEE one lol Yes I fell in love with the new features; did I look forward to the typical 'sit & wait' or the 'let me go talk to my manager' speeches that you normally get AFTER you fall in love with a car? no; BUT that's not what happened when I bought my last car from them so I wasn't too worried about it happening this time around either. I figured, if my experience was great the last time, why not see what they could offer me this time around. No harm, no foul since I was waiting for my car to be done anyway. Marcos and Alex explained to me my different options. Depending on how much I put down, buying vs. leasing, insurance, warranties, I mean we went through it all. I have a lot of questions but they were able to answer them all without making me feel like I was being swayed. I felt comfortable enough to even call my insurance agent to see if there was a difference in premium on a new car and yes it did go up $10 but to me that's less than two visits to Starbucks in a week that I could sure do without, a little more often. Overall, I was able to lower my payment per month, get into a nicer, newer, faster car than I already had AND not have buyers' remorse after I left. They even had the Dodger game on while I waited for my new car to be cleaned and ready to go :) Thanks for another great experience Riverside Mazda; I'll continue to send referrals your way! read more

Do NOT give these people your business - they are crooks! I read a review about them before I visited thinking my experience would be different but it was just as bad! They will quote you a low price online and then fail to honor it when you get there! I was quoted the price of $14,799 by Elaina McKinney on a used 2015 Mazda with mileage of 208. The deal seemed too good to be true, but I checked kbb and the price was still fair so I figured I would check it out. I spoke to Elaina on the phone on Monday and she transferred me to her coworker Leo who said the mileage was low due to "unwinding". I was then transferred to their manager Maj who said he could give me some great deals if I came by to see the car. So that evening my boyfriend and I drove (I kid you not) basically 2 hours just to go see this car. I called Maj before leaving to make sure the car was still there and he confirmed that it was. Then right away when I get there Maj starts telling me how he's got a bunch of new cars for a great price. I tell him I am not shopping for a new car, that I would like to see the USED car we spoke about earlier. He walks up to three different cars in the lot with my boyfriend and I walking after him, pretending to look for the car and pointing out how nice these cars are. I tell him I would like to see the car I was there for. He says four cars were sold today so maybe it was sold. Then we see a blue mica Mazda 3 Hatchback being driven up to a corner of the lot so we go see if it's the car. Maj tells us this car was originally $18,000 and is now only $16,000 so my boyfriend and I are both like well, we were quoted $14,000. So Maj says maybe it's the wrong car. He checks the VIN number and confirms it is in fact the right car. However, the mileage does not match up. This car says it has 1,000 miles so somehow the car in the listing was driven 800 miles in one day?!? My boyfriend and I say nevermind, we are not interested in this car at this price and leave to our car. As we are sitting in our car, Maj runs over and explains the price is higher because it includes extended warranty and some fabric something or other. We say we don't need any of that, that we want him to honor the internet price we were quoted. Maj goes inside and pretends talk to his manager to see what he can do. I thought he was the manager?!!!?! Then he says he will try to reach Elaina on her phone to see what he can do but she doesn't answer. He says she will be in the next day so can we come back? We tell him if he can honor the price today we will take the car today but we do not plan to drive back in traffic again tomorrow. Anyway he keeps going back and forth from our car pretending to talk to people and finally comes out and says he can honor the internet price but that we have to wait until Elaina is in because it is her deal, not his. He says she will be there on Thursday or Saturday. Another lie because he had just said she would be there Tuesday! We told him that and he said, Yeah, You're right... so basically, that listing is a trick to get you in the door. Don't be fooled. They don't care about the customer at all. And I bet even if you were suckered into buying a car with warranty, they wouldn't even honor the warranty. These guys deserve to go out of business. Seriously the worst dealership I have gone to. And I can now happily say I spent less money on a better car from a much more honest dealership. Check out Star Mazda or Mercedes Benz of Calabasas if you want a good car shopping experience! read more

My CX-9 needed a new engine block and the parts department went beyond what they needed to get me back up and running again. Would definitely recommend coming here! I just bought my first car and they worked with my situation perfectly. Dustin is the one who made my experience so great! He was patient, made me feel like I was a valued customer and didn't make me feel like he was just trying to make a quick buck off of me. He valued my input and helped me get the exact car I wanted. I never felt rushed or pressured. He is honestly the reason why I got the car and more employees should approach customers the way he did with me. Beware the low prices. Was quoted a great figure from their website and told the price was 'locked in'. Other dealers said it was fishy, so I pressed them on any hidden fees. Turns out there is pre-installed 'security' and 'fabric protection' not included in any of the prices they will quote you. Then their sales guy tells me he doesn't know the price of those add-ons. Really, you're selling a product and you can't tell your customer what it costs? Don't reward businesses with these sketchy sales tactics. read more

This is now my 3rd Mazda buying from them and this time was the easiest and most rewarding! My lease was up and Gerson called me and was so patient and easy to work with! He started talking to me about trading my car in and I was unsure at first but after telling him my conditions he spoke to the manager and came back exceeding what I had originally said! Gerson was never pushy and once I purchased the new car he went through everything thoroughly with me! I even texted him days later with a couple questions and he answered quickly and professionally! What more can I ask for? Mario the finance manager was awesome as well! Went through all the information so it was clear and black and white! Buying a car can be stressful and intimidating but with Gerson and Mario I felt comfortable and felt good leaving. Highly recommend! read more

My experience with Riverside Mazda was/is the best ive had in shopping for a new car. Vanessa started the good " first impression" off by contacting me after i showed interest in a vehicle i saw online. Next was Dustyn who took me through hassle free test drives, vehicle selection, and finalizing the sale. Then Mario wrapped things up in financing. The entire experience was hassle free, FUN, and respectful. Everyone respected my time, paid attention to my preferences, and answered questions I had. I've already recommended Riverside Mazda to a few friends and family. I'm happy with my vehicle and appreciate the efforts of the staff to assure i had a positive experience....You all deserve 10 Stars!! read more

Had a disgusting experience with this dealership today (Aug 18, 2019). I don't write reviews but felt this horrible place needed one. They are sexist and don't know how to negotiate. I was dealing with Kevin who was seemingly nice at first, but when it came to negotiation, I made it clear I didn't want to pay for the additional add-on accessories I didn't want or need (extra few thousand for theft protection, paint guard, etc). I said, let's start at the MSRP and start negotiating from there. He would not budge and said he couldn't remove the added features to start negotiating the MSRP (which is ridiculous and not true), so I asked for a breakdown of the MSRP. He asked how much I would be willing to pay for this car (new 2019 CX5), and I jokingly said, well if we are just throwing out numbers, how about $20k? He mentioned I would need pre-owned for that price, and I again said it was a joke and I understand it couldn't go that low for this new vehicle. He then left (to "see what he could do") and had another associate (didn't catch his name, was very young and skinny) come in since Kevin obviously didn't want to deal with me. The younger man came in and said, so you want to pay $20k for this car? I stated again it was a joke and I want to negotiate down from the MSRP. He said the additional features were added because they (Mazda) are a business and they need to make money somehow. I stated I understood, but it was my money and I didn't want the extra theft features or scotch guard interior etc. He then said I was giving him "attitude". I was taken aback and said I was not, for I was just speaking bluntly and being straight forward. If I was a male instead of a female, it would not be considered attitude. He then stated that I rolled my eyes at him a few times - which I did not, was a false accusation, and completely unnecessary. At this point I was done "negotiating" with this dealership for the owners employed someone that not only refused to work with my needs as a customer, but they think it's okay to insult them. If I don't want an extra added feature like theft protection I shouldn't have to pay for it - it's very simple. It's called negotiating for a reason? I guess that was too much to hear from a woman. On TOP of that, when this kid walked out the door, he yelled back at us in the office (still in shock from his rudeness), "GOOD LUCK FINDING A NEW CAR!". My father was with me this whole time and he was completely astounded and his mouth dropped when this entire interaction happened. We promptly left as this establishment is beyond rude and they don't deserve a cent of anyone's hard earned money. read more

I heard a clunk when I was making a turn in my car. It didn't matter if I was turning left or right I heard it! I have very low miles on my car but I took it to Riverside Mazda. A nice young lady who is called Liz who works in the service department was AWESOME!! It turns out I had to have about $4000.00 dollars worth work done!!!! Liz helped me to get into a courtesy Vehicle so I could go to work, she kept communicating with my extended warranty people and trying to help me get a break on some of the out of pocket expenses I would have to pay! I understand we are living difficult times with a pandemic going on, but this was not covid related , simply lack of professionalism and lack or customer service. Was called to pick up my car. I thanked the lady that actually helped me and explained to her what had happened. This was going to be 1 star review if it wasn't for her. My test drive experience was nice. The salesperson helpful EXCEPT: Watch out for the "dealer swirl option" when they price out the car for you. They automatically add Lo Jack and some paint and fabric protection at the cost of $2000!. You can save some money by 01. Going to another dealer that doesn't do that. (money saved $2000) 02. Telling them "no" and having someone else install Lo-Jack and do paint and interior protection (money saved $1000) Lastly, I know you are excited about buying a car, but look at the number very closely. They might "erroneously" put 72 months instead of 60 months to make it more appealing to you and advantageous to them. They got tricks. You have to be on your A-game. I would avoid buying cars from them like the plague. Update 9/20/2013: I went ahead and rated them one star (down from two) because I verified what the sales person told us was false information. I cannot stress enough how knowing your information before you step into a dealer ship. This is only the review of the numbers guy and the sales person we had. read more

Had a quote from the Internet department to buy a Mazda 3, once you get there you are forced to buy pre-installed items like the outdated LoJack on the exact car they quoted. Made my "first time car buying experience" HELL. Do not deal with Mag/Maj (whatever), This salesman is COMPLETELY incompetent. He has no idea what customer service is. He not only disrespected me, but my parents as well. I have also concluded he must be deaf since he screwed up every time he came back with a sheet of paper. Those papers might as well have been blank as the "information" he was trying to convey to us was useless and a waste of time. Whether it was thinking I wanted to lease the car when I was very clear I wanted to purchase, ignoring shackleford's notes on my preferences (more than once), or ignoring my request to run a credit check (more than once). It is very clear that he was in fact the salesman he claimed he was not. The only reason this place is still in business is because of Shack Shackleford and Jose (Mendoza?). The only straight shooters there. Every question I had, these two were able to answer it no problem, no strings attached. As soon as management came into the picture my visit became unpleasant and unacceptable. If you aren't prepared to ask the right questions, be prepared that you WILL be ripped off by this dealership. read more

The nicest person you will meet here is the guy that washes the cars. As you make your way up the Mazda ladder, reps get douchier. The sales reps are MEH to nonchalant about what I was seeking. Then I spoke to the manager about the stupid alarm system I didn't want to purchase because (let's face it) why make a cop's job easier by me having to pay these easier installed "cop alarm systems." (My tax money goes to waste on cops as it is). And yes they can uninstall these alarm system as I finally purchased my car at the Ontario Mazda months later after this disaster of a car shopping experience (5 star service there!). Anyway, I talked to the Manager... The biggest, most arrogant, "IDGAF What You want, we don't need your business" attitude EVER!!! Needless to say I walked away and will NEVER go back to this place AGAIN. read more

Don't waste your time or money here. I found a competitive quote online for a vehicle I was interested in on the car research site www.edmunds.com. After viewing the quote, Felipe, the internet manager/Edmunds representative at Riverside Mazda both called and e-mailed me to confirm that if I brought the e-mail with me they would honor the pricing. After viewing and test driving the car, I spoke with the salesperson helping me, Shack, about purchasing that evening. I attempted to negotiate on price, but Shack informed me that the sales manager would not budge from the price quote I had already gotten. As it was not far above Edmunds TMV or the KBB for this vehicle, I told him that I would purchase the car for that price. Shack returned to the office to pretend he was wheeling and dealing for me, and came back with an updated quote listing the cost of the vehicle, appropriate taxes and fees, and an over $3000 extended warranty! I told him that I was absolutely not interested in this warranty, and upon returning from another trip to the office Shack informed me that, contrary to the quote that THEY furnished and I had confirmed by THEIR salesperson, they would not honor the quote unless I purchased a (now $1999) warranty. I thought I had covered my bases by asking Felipe about all of the one star reviews I saw here on the phone, and he assured me that I would not have to worry about LoJack or other dealer "options." Mea culpa for not realizing they had other creative ways to try to rip me off on a used vehicle purchase. As others have said, this dealership is a scam. If you are not an extremely savvy car buyer you will be ripped off, and if you are savvy they will waste your time--I was out several hours and the drive to Riverside. read more

I do not recommend this dealer shop. They first gave me a quote with pretty decent price, and after I agreed to buy the car and provided all my personal info., they suddenly increased the quote price saying "Oh, we forgot to apply LA tax because we didn't know you live there." This doesn't make sense because I was chatting with him about weather difference between Riverside and West LA while I was test driving. Riverside tax rate is 8% and LA's is 9%, so 1% tax rate difference could easily become more than a couple hundred dollars in car purchase. Also, their quote doesn't show the actual tax rate percent value so in order to find out how much tax is applied, you have to calculate it by yourself. This might be their favorite strategy in making deals so be careful. They also provided me a quote with Trade-in Bonus Cash ($750) but when I actually brought my car there, they were suddenly showing the detailed conditions on the qualification and told my car is not qualified. read more

I came here to buy a 2013 Mazda 2 and probably the only good thing about this place was the sales person knew a lot about the car, but everything else was horrible. They for one over price the car. They add low-jack and window tinting to the car and want to charge you an extra $500 for this. They did not work with me with the financing options and actually kind of tried to just brush me off and tell me to go to my bank and try to get financing there, then come back and get a car. No thanks! Worst experience and they are down the street from my house. Instead I drove 45 mins and went to John Hine Mazda in Temecula and got the car I wanted for a GREAT price with no additional useless products added to my car. Also got my windows tinted for less than the price they try charging for their already tinted windows there. Really, you add $300 for 3 tinted windows on the car? That alone is the biggest rip off. No thanks, so glad I went to the dealership I went too. read more

Only giving it two stars because I love Mazdas. Don't go to this location unless you're wanting your credit information shot out everywhere. I went in about almost a month ago to try and get a new car, was denied due to reason, but I am still getting deny letters in the mail from all different banks. My score dropped almost 20 points because of this. I was at the dealership for a little more than an hour, didn't like the deal they did offer me so I left, but in that time my information went all the way to Texas to get denied. Very pissed. Luckily before the huge ding hit my credit I was blessed with a better car from somewhere else. All they told me was that they only go through like two banks, not damn over 10. Everyone was VERY unprofessional in my opinion, just about everyone was on their phone, no one was of any help. read more

Got royally screwed and ripped off. Was told vehicle didn't have Lo-Jack, when it was delivered, turns out it did. Rude and uncooperative for pricing. Like another reviewer said, all cars here have Lo-Jack and extras. If you call and they say they have the car your looking for, don't believe them. MAKE SURE to have quotes from different dealers, a calculator, edmunds.com pricing, kbb pricing, pen & paper & SPEAK UP! Walk it out too and think it out. Your request should never be "ridiculous" if it is reasonable by the way. Bait & switch yo. Ask for the price of the vehicle, not the monthly payment. Better yet, get outside financing. Riverside Mazda: In July, my wife and I decided to look at a Mazda MX-5. We're in the IE, so we went to Riverside Mazda. I had dealt with Spreen Honda and let's just say they were not totally honest, so Spreen Mazda was out of the question. At Riverside Mazda we met sales and leasing consultant Tim Rhoades. He was very patient and applied absolutely NO pressure. He showed us the 2018 cars and almost had us sold on a Sport RF model but in the end it was not the car we wanted. He even called us the next day and offered us a better deal but we had our hearts set on the GT RF. We went back a month later in August and met another sales consultant with a similar attitude to Tim. That was encouraging, but still no car in stock. In the mean time, we were looking at other dealerships online and still no car was available. On labor day weekend, Riverside sent us an email with an excellent deal for a 2019 MX-5 GT RF. Perfect. But it was the wrong color. Then on Oct 5th, Tim called and said he had a car that he thought we would be interested in in red. We set up a meet time and headed down to Riverside. The car was perfect with everything we wanted. Let the games begin. :) .. Well guess what; there were no games. We made an offer and they countered, we countered, they countered and we accepted. The price was excellent for one of the 1st 2019 MX-5 GT RF's in the most popular color (RED!). There was NO pressure at anytime and the guys we dealt with were, as far as we could tell, honest and interested in helping us purchase the car instead of selling us the car. Overall, this was the best car buying experience I've ever had and at my age I've had many good and bad ones. I trusted these guys and they talked to us like genuine old friends, talking about families, hobbies, vacations and generalities. All the while they were patient and engaged with our concerns. I would recommend these guys to my Mom, and being her oldest son I look out for her. Thank you Dennis, and Ricardo for all your help. Oh, I want to mention Zabi, the manager that allowed us to get a good, fair price on our car. Above all, a special thanks to Tim Rhoades who genuinely looked out for out interests and getting us the car we really wanted instead of one we might have settled for. You have earned a life long customer. You guys run an excellent, customer focused dealership that's modern, clean and comfortable, even the restrooms are very clean and modern, and based on my experience I would recommend your Mazda store to anyone considering a new car purchase. read more

This review is well overdue. I purchased a Chevy Suburban LTX and yes this was at Mazda of Riverside and I got the best car buying experience ever. I've purchased many vehicles in my lifetime doing it on my own and also using a car buying service but the service I received here was the best ever. I have to recognize three individuals starting with Matthew, Diego, and Nick. This was a group of team players that clearly showed that I was very important and were looking out what was best for me and my family. They were a very experienced group and knowledgeable even with the vehicle being a Chevy it might as well had been a Mazda cause they knew everything about the Suburban inside and out. I went out on multiple test drives of the vehicle and they showed patience with my decision and absolutely were no typical car salesmen pressure. This sounds cliche but I have to say that It felt Like I stole this vehicle with such a great deal that they gave me. Diego was the 1st contact and he was so great and polite. He got the car buying process get off to a good start. Then it was Matthew who put my deal together and he was awesome. We had a lot of things in common and we talked about family first and other non car related topics that made both my wife and myself so at ease that made the numbers part of the process EASY. Again, there was no forced sales tactics or the back and forth with the " Let me go talk with my boss". We came to an agreement quickly. Then came Nick with the financing part of the process. Even though we already had a pre-approval in hand he offered options that were again to see if they can beat our offer. They did cross-sale one item to us that was better then what we had been offered. He gave us some great pointers and made the final part of the process a great ending to my car buying experience at Mazda of Riverside. I highly recommend if you are looking for a group of individuals who are looking for your best intentions and will treat you like family. read more

Riverside Mazda is the absolute best car dealership ever!!!! Zabi Kabir, the General Sales Manager is awesome. He is so kind, honest and easy to work with. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Zabi definitely delivered on his promise. Zabi actually exceeded my expectations. I got exactly what I wanted a 2018 Mazda CX-5 at a great price. I highly recommend Riverside Mazda. Zabi contacted me the day after my purchase to thank me for my business and to make sure I was happy with the car. Now that is customer service at its finest. Tim Rhoades is a Product Specialist at Riverside Mazda and he was exceptional as well. He called me to tell that they had the car that I wanted ready and waiting for me when I arrived. It was right in front and ready for a test drive. I knew what I wanted and they had it. Tim even called me four days after I bought the car to congratulate me on my purchase and to make sure I was happy with the car and to see if I had any questions. Dennis Demaio in the finance department was also great. He made the finance process very easy and fast. He is a pro. If I could give 10 stars I would. They are all wonderful to work with. He provided me all the information I needed and then I went and test drove some cars at two other dealerships. I settled in on the CX-5, and came back to see Kevin. The lease process was very efficient and I got a good deal on a 2019 CC-5. I would definitely recommend Riverside Mazda for its customer service and efficient purchase process. Thanks KEVIN AMAYA! read more

Great people, really helpful. Just bought a 2017 Mazda 6 here and was very happy with the whole process. Very fast and efficient. Had exactly what I was looking for in stock. Ask for Diego- he'll take good care of you! Love the car too! read more

First I want to start by saying Liz is amazing if you do choose to bring your car to Mazda her customer service is great . One star goes to the dealer service department I took my 2018 Mazda CX-9 here for door seals peeling off mind u my car is a 2018 with 22000 miles . Not a good start . Took car in and Mazda said problem was covered here is your appt in two weeks to come back and we will replace . No problem my husband took day off to go and sit in the dealer for two hrs to overhear a service advisor tell another customer sorry we are running behind (overbooked) it will be another couple hours. My husband went to front desk ask if same applies to him and was told sorry we took doors apart and realized we don't have the tools to do the job we set up for you to have done here . We will have to send out to a body shop ???!!! This is absurd and further more called to speak to a service supervisor and they don't come in on the weekends . When I asked to talk to someone in charge I was told I could contact a general number no direct extension for supervisor . So unprofessional and shame on a factory technician or scheduling people work and so disappointed in every aspect of the service department at Mazda think twice about leaving your car or wasting your time definitely alley not valuable here . read more
