We went to the used car side of the dealership and found a nice used car in good condition. Of course, the price was outside our budget, which we stretched. They were non-negotiable on the price, but we felt comfortable speaking openly with them. After discussing it, we decided to pass. We really wanted this particular car, but it remained slightly out of reach. I asked for a small discount, not even a thousand dollars. Gratefully, we were able to agree on a price. Yay, we bought the car and are delighted. The deal didn't take all day, was agreed upon, processed quickly, and we left with time to enjoy a Saturday. The finance wait was a bit long, but the waiting area was comfortable and the coffee machine makes delicious drinks. Tim and Steve are good guys, with a comfortable vibe. We went out of our way to visit this dealership, and we are glad that we did. read more

Dutton Motor Company - It's 16 years old, and it's a classic. - Car Dealers Near Me - Riverside, California

I recently traded in my vehicle and leased a new 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ from Dutton Motor Company, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Luis Lopez made the process incredibly easy, seamless, and stress-free. He was professional, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly. Trade-ins and leases can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Luis made every step simple and straightforward. I'm absolutely loving my new VISTIQ and couldn't be happier with my decision. The level of customer service I received was outstanding, and it's clear that Dutton Motor Company values its customers and takes pride in creating a first-class experience. If you're considering a Cadillac or looking for a dealership that truly takes care of you, I highly recommend asking for Luis Lopez at Dutton Motor Company. Thank you again for making the entire process such a positive experience! read more

Slowest service I've ever received. 100K Hummer EV and they need 3 hours just to change tires. When I called I booked the tire installation and the wash and was told 2 hours. When I came in it's a different story from Myriah, the service advisor, she said it would take a total of 3 hours including the Carwash. She was not helpful at all. Well it's been 3 hours now and the car has not been washed. I told them to cancel the wash at this point. Go elsewhere. read more

Came in for an oil change for my Cadillac CT5 at Dutton Motor Company. When I arrived, no one came out to greet me at the service bay--maybe that's normal here, but it threw me off a bit. Once I walked inside, though, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They got me in about 30 minutes early, which was a nice surprise. The waiting area is clean, spacious, and has plenty of room to relax while you wait. No food court or snacks--just complimentary water--so if you're the type who likes a little treat while waiting, bring your own (I actually wish I had brought some donuts to share!). Prices for the oil change were totally reasonable--right around what you'd expect. Overall, great customer service inside and a comfortable place to wait. Would definitely come back. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Andrew Rudd and the entire team at Dutton Motor Company. I purchased a Cadillac LYRIQ from Andrew yesterday, and the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Andrew is everything you hope for in a salesperson and almost never find: knowledgeable, thorough, patient, professional, straightforward, and genuinely interested in making sure the customer understands exactly what they are buying. His knowledge of the LYRIQ was outstanding. Every question I had was answered clearly and confidently, and he took the time to walk me through the vehicle, its technology, features, and operation without ever making the process feel rushed. He was attentive to the details, anticipated questions before I even asked them, and made what can often be a stressful and exhausting process remarkably easy. Just as important, there was never any pressure, gamesmanship, or typical dealership nonsense. Andrew treated us with respect throughout the entire transaction and made us feel like valued customers rather than simply another sale to close. Quite frankly, Andrew is the kind of salesperson other salespeople should be trained to emulate. He represents Dutton Motor Company extraordinarily well and turned the purchase of our Cadillac LYRIQ into a genuinely enjoyable experience. The entire experience with Dutton was professional, organized, welcoming, and first-class, but Andrew was the standout. If you are considering a Cadillac, ask for Andrew Rudd. You will be dealing with someone who truly knows his product, cares about his customers, and understands what outstanding service is supposed to look like. Five stars without hesitation. Andrew earned every one of them. read more

Do not do business with Dutton Cadillac and the Sales Manage Steve Neville. I viewed a car online, and purchased a one year old Cadillac ESCALDE IQ with 400 miles that was being offered as a Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac. I am 2500 miles away from this dealership and relied on the representations and documentation made by the dealership. For this age and mileage Cadillac's CPO standard states the car should cosmetically meet the brands luxury standards, it did not. The entire rear of the car had swirl marks that required my local detail shop to correct and polish the finish for 8 hours at my expense, $500. The CPO standard states the body should be free of dents, I had a Paintless Dent Removal tech fix dents and ripples in a door sill, an A-pillar and a rear quarter panel at my expense of $300. The worst damage to the car is the running boards, the bottom of one has the covering torn from it and the other side has deep scratches running through half the length. The car was mishandled while in others procession, there are round abrasion marks from a floor jack or jack stand on the bottom of the steps indicating the vehicle was improperly lifted or supported. This damage was documented by me via email 3 days after receipt of car (when I looked under car) and 120 miles after delivery. This damage did not occur while the car was in my possession. When I discussed the damage with Steve Neville he asked what would it take to satisfy me? I said Dutton Cadillac should pay me the cost of parts and installation. Steve said he would just pay for parts, so I went to my local Cadillac dealer to get the cost. I made a request for Dutton Cadillac to pay me $646.77 and Steve Nevilles reply was after consideration he decided to decline my request for payment. A man is only as good as their word, so you draw your own conclusion. I am contacting Cadillac to complain the vehicle was represented and sold as a CPO car but in fact did not meet the standard. Luckily, after I have spent nearly $2000 to correct these defects, the car looks nearly new. Buyer's beware, there are much better places to do business. read more

Updating my original review from about 10 years ago. I originally gave this dealership 5 stars because it had earned them. This was also the second vehicle I purchased through them, so my opinion was based on more than a single positive experience. Unfortunately, the dealership I dealt with this time did not reflect the one I had recommended years ago, and I do not plan to return here for my next vehicle purchase. For this visit, I scheduled service through the dealership's app and specifically selected the option to wait for my vehicle. After I arrived, I was told that would not be possible and that I would likely not get my car back until the middle of next week. Repairs and diagnostics can take time. That is understandable. The problem was not the existence of a delay, but the complete failure to communicate it in a meaningful way before I arrived. I eventually found the email they had sent, but it contained no confirmation option, and when there was no response from me, there was no follow-up phone call, no second email, and no text message. If the dealership was changing the nature of the appointment so significantly, a single unconfirmed email was not adequate communication. The alternatives offered were equally disappointing. I was told shuttle service was limited to a 15-mile radius, even though both Google Maps and Waze showed my address at about 12 miles away. I was then offered a one-way rideshare trip home "for the inconvenience," which simply shifted the rest of the inconvenience onto me by leaving me to arrange transportation back to the dealership later. I was also told they could try to arrange a loaner vehicle in a few months. That is not a practical solution. My warranty coverage runs to 50,000 miles, and I am already at about 46,000. With work, errands, and normal driving, it is not speculative to say I would likely exceed that limit by then. In effect, the proposed remedy would have required me to continue driving with a check engine light while risking the loss of warranty coverage. To be fair, the employee helping me was courteous and seemed to be making an effort, which is the reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1. Beyond that, however, this experience reflected poor communication, unreliable scheduling, and a level of customer care that falls well below what this dealership once provided. I gave this dealership a strong review years ago because the quality of service justified it. I am updating that review now because it no longer does. They were good enough to earn my loyalty once. They were careless enough to lose it. Convenience is clearly part of their marketing, not their actual service. read more

I have had THE BEST experience here at Dutton. This review is going to be basically about the service, as my purchasing experience in October 2023 was fantastic and went smooth. Service Experience: On Thanksgiving my vehicle had a check engine light come on while we were heading to dinner and immediately made an appointment with the closest dealership to me. However, after a bad experience and not much support from there, I reached out to Dutton to find out about having the service done there because it would be under my extended warranty. Angel, my service rep, was beyond helpful from the start. Because of the extensive needs of the repair, I was provided a loaner which was appreciated. Throughout the 2 weeks we were dealing with the issue (waiting for the part to come in and the repair to be done) Angel communicated with me and kept me updated on the progress. Today when I picked up my car all of the staff were fantastic and attentive, which was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Dutton Motor for anyone looking to purchase and/or service a vehicle. read more

I came to this dealership because of a lease promotion they had online. I had already spoken with someone beforehand who told me to come in and said he'd meet me when I arrived. I told him I was already outside, but he never showed up. When I went inside to ask for him, they gave me a different salesperson. The person I ended up with was confusing, misleading, and provided very poor customer service. I waited outside next to the car for a long time. He even opened the vehicle door from a distance but didn't come over, so I continued waiting. When he finally approached, he told me he was "in the middle of something." Overall, I felt pushed aside and dismissed, almost like they were trying to lead me away from the promotion I originally asked about. Regardless of the situation, no customer should be treated like their time or business doesn't matter. Very disappointing experience. read more

The purchase experience at Dutton Motor Company was actually great. I bought a 2026 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4 and the sales side treated me well. Unfortunately, the service department has been a completely different experience. I scheduled my first service appointment, and the very next day my lane departure feature stopped working and the collision warning light came on. I haven't even owned this truck for 6 months, and we're talking about a $100,000 truck. When I called to ask if they could simply take a look at it while it was already there for service, I was told I'd have to leave the truck for 3-4 days just for diagnosis. Seriously? How hard is it to have a mechanic spend a few minutes checking a brand-new truck with active safety system warnings? What made it worse is they didn't even offer a rental or loaner vehicle. For a truck in this price range, that level of customer service is unacceptable. I understand repairs can take time, but making customers leave a nearly new vehicle for almost a week just to diagnose it (with no transportation offered) is disappointing. Great sales experience, terrible service department experience so far. read more

After experiencing over 50 years of buying cars, primarily in California, I can say...WITHOUT HESITATION...that my experience with Dutton was among the best! Stephan and Danny worked together, and the managers were all accessible, calm, HONEST, and absolutely friendly; a true pleasure to deal with. I actually ENJOYED spending time talking with Stephan and the gang! The closing process was straight forward, and the finance lady was a PRO, even though we killed an entire forest with all the ridiculous papers...dummest thing ever, California lawmakers! read more

My family has bought a couple of cars from Dutton Motor Company in Riverside, but our recent experiences with their service department have been terrible. They've shown dishonesty and a lack of integrity, especially when dealing with elderly customers. When my family member bought his vehicle, the deal included six free oil changes, but the dealership only honored four. Later, they claimed a part needed to be replaced and charged over $400 for the repair. We later went to another shop that fixed the exact same issue in five minutes for a fraction of the price. It's clear they're taking advantage of trusting customers, particularly seniors. We won't be coming back, and I strongly recommend others get a second opinion and make sure every service agreement is in writing before doing business with their service department. read more

I purchased a new GMC Canyon mid-size pick up truck back in February. Really enjoying this truck. It's been awhile since I've had a truck. Picking up the truck was quick and easy, which I appreciated because it was after work. Dutton Motors is a very nice dealership, clean and kept. All of the staff you run into are always friendly and professional. Six months later I took my truck in for the first oil and complimentary service and tire rotation. 1-Star Review Horrible Experience - Dishonest and Completely Unprofessional I had one of the worst experiences ever at the Dutton Motor dealership in Riverside. I brought in my Cadillac because the check engine light came on. They kept my car for three days, charged me over $200 for a diagnostic, and then told me the car was "not drivable" and that I needed a brand-new transmission costing over $10,000. Before moving forward, we did our own research and found out there is a recall for the exact year and make of our Cadillac. When we called the dealership about the recall, suddenly their "internet was down," they were stumbling over their words, and said they'd call us back once they confirmed -- they never did. Because we were told the car was unsafe to drive, we rented a vehicle for a few days. Out of frustration, we finally had a trusted friend look at the car. And guess what? There was NOTHING wrong with the transmission. The ONLY thing the car needed was transmission fluid. No noises, no slipping, no issues -- just low fluid. Something any honest technician would have checked immediately. Instead, the dealership tried to sell us a $10,000 transmission we did NOT need. Not only were they completely wrong, but it honestly felt like a scam. We paid for a diagnostic, paid for a rental car, went without our vehicle for days, and were intentionally misled. I'm extremely disappointed and honestly feel like they tried to take advantage of us. Please save yourself the money, stress, and dishonesty -- do NOT go to this dealership for service or to purchase a vehicle. They will not be honest with you. read more

Does not have courtesy vehicles to loan to address vehicle issues on 2026 they just sold me, don't have dates available to get truck in either when it's a major issue that almost caused an accident on the freeway with my three younger children and wife. Sales man on Monday (Jim I believe) said he has a great report with service and will get with them and "call me right back" I asked if he had my information and he said; I have all your information right in front of me. It's Saturday now and still no call back. Not reliable, do not hold their word and don't hold themselves accountable. Truck has less than 2k miles and issues already. Will no longer pay out of pocket to address issue and will drive it how it is, if it malfunctions while driving, records shows I have reached out to address issue with no help offered but the run around. read more

I had been getting my 2500 Denali serviced in Tustin GMC. I purchased it there and had the free service package for a limited amount of miles, that ended so I decided to take it into Dutton. I paid for the service and parked my truck. Three days later my truck wouldn't start. I called AAA $520 later my truck started I needed new batteries. Which I should have been notified the day I got my service. My remote push to start won't work and I have a check engine light that will not turn off. I had onstar run a diagnostic they said it's something with the electrical system. When I called Dutton they left me on hold for over 20 minutes and I ended hanging up. I never had any issues when I took my truck to Tustin. Now I have to pay over $200 for Tustin to look at the issue. DO NOT GO TO DUTTON FOR SERVICE. I took my truck to Dutton because the transmission was acting up. They charged me $300 just to diagnose it. A couple of days later, they said they needed another $600 for "further diagnosing." A day after that, they told me the transmission was no good and quoted $14,000 to replace it. I told them I couldn't afford that and asked them to button it up so I could come pick it up. When they brought the truck out to me, the first thing I noticed was that all three seat presets had been reprogrammed to go all the way forward and up -- which was strange. I drove about a mile down the road before the transmission completely stopped working. Turns out the truck had no transmission fluid in it at all. I had to buy a transfer pump and six quarts of fluid just to get my truck home. For reference, the national average cost to replace this transmission is around $6,500, not $14,000. I will never use this dealership again. I will never own another GMC, and I will strongly discourage anyone I know from doing business with them. read more
