My youngest wanted to take a lesson here for her birthday. This was actually our second time here as my oldest wanted to come here for her birthday several years ago. They usually have offerings on Groupon for savings, however, it's also easy to book online from their website and pay directly. Ian was our instructor and he did an excellent job. He was very patient with us and definitely knows his stuff! The lesson started with basic safety and then proceeded to technique. He helped my youngest out by letting her try several different bows to make sure she was comfortable. I was pretty rusty, but ended up hitting the bullseye a couple of times. They usually do a round where you blow up a balloon and try to pop it with the arrow, but they were out of balloons this time. As a result, Ian created a challenge for us where whoever hit the bullseye, or closest to it, would win a Riverside Archery sticker. Surprisingly enough, on the last round, I ended up victorious and the proud owner of the sticker! Yay! David our instructor was great! He explained all the basics parts of the bow and arrow, all the safety precautions, and assisted each of us on what we can do to perform better. First time shooting a bow and I'm hooked! I just finished the 1-hour beginner archery training at Riverside Archery, and it blew away my expectations. First off I wanted to preference that this is really my first true experience with an archery shop in almost five years. Where I'm currently stationed I have a sportsman's and bass pro within an hour drive and both are pretty minimal on anything with bows besides setting up RTH packages. Forgive me if I didn't get the name right but I believe Ian was the employee that was helping me out while I was there. He was working on a coaching session with another patron and noticed some odd noises from my rest within a few minutes he determined it was definitely an issue and offered to look at it even though it wasn't a popular brand or even sold/ bought there. I ended up getting a new QAD rest and he installed it and I was on target and feeling great with it. This places willingness to go above and beyond speaks volumes. This was my first time visiting California and this shop really surprised me and changed my impression of CA as a whole. Great hospitality from these guys and their willingness to help has been unmatched in the last 5-6 six years of shooting. What a fun little hidden gem! Excellent customer service! Staff gave attentive care to our whole group. Welcoming and informative. Being our first time they walked us through the process and we signed up for the tutorial lesson. A wonderful time of learning techniques and putting them into practice. Safety is established and the instructor really adjusts to what will fit your needs. Excellent equipment and facility. Restrooms are inside and maintained. Once you finish the instruction and safety course you can begin a few rounds on your own. There were two other people during our time slot and there was plenty of room for our group. A group of women from my church know I shoot archery and wanted to give it a try. Setting up the appointment with Ian and Riverside Archery was so easy and he answered all my questions. With a deposit we were able to set up a the hour and half party. Ian was the instructor . He patiently showed the group of 8 women the basics of archery then gave each woman an individual lesson to get started shooting. I'm new to archery, and the lesson with Ian was fantastic. Beforehand, they got the bowstring for my new longbow nocked and ready to go, and I was able to shoot with it for the first time with some great instruction about canting, anchor points, etc. Ian was chill, attentive, and funny, and noted several things good and bad me and my shooting partner did. Scott was our instructor and he was great!! Great personality and he really taught us proper technique and what to do when you need to adjust. Amazing instructor! He went over everything a beginner needs to know. You will also be offered a card to come for future practicing. Like a punch time card. I actually am super excited to come back. I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely be returning in the future with family and friends. My instructor Scott was great, very professional and personable. You could tell that he was not only experienced but very friendly and he understood each person's needs during the group lesson. His assistant Jenson I believe his name was, also provided great support and hype man energy which was appreciated. This was my first time trying archery and I am so glad I did it and did it this way! I even signed up for a free membership card so that I can return, possibly for a next tier group lesson or even on the open lanes on my own as you can rent equipment (or bring your own) for $25 for the first hour, pro-rated after that! The shop is clean and the staff is attentive and helpful. I had to wait a few minutes for them to get through their current customer and they had first me in last second for an appointment. I shot a performance here for the first time. I just wanted to get a feel for it before purchasing one. I found it hard to focus without a site or peep but the feel was there. It gave me a good idea of what I needed to work on before purchasing a new bow. The gentleman that assisted me (wish I could remember his name) gave great tips and advice and didn't pressure me into buying a new bow. I really appreciate that type of sales person. I have had more time to pull lore weight on my current bow. When I'm ready to buy again I know where I'll find the bow I am looking for. read more

Very bad vibes. If you don't look like the employees here. ( Blond hair/ white skin/white / )You will feel that negative vibe from the staff and even their regulars. I did have a positive vibe from UCR ARCHERY student that were practicing there. Bless their hearts. But everyone else-- They need Jesus. I'll be praying for them. This nation needs more praying. In a nutshell, experience was basically this. You can speak to anyone with no harsh or disrespectful words. But TONE matters. Demeanor matters. Our 12 year old son bought a compound bow at Riverside Archery and also had a one hour lesson to get more familiar with it. Ian was a GREAT person to work with there. He helped select the bow and the kit, put the whole thing together, and was very patient. Given the store is 1.5 hours away, we very much appreciated the service they provided.
