Place is pretty cool. Dave I belive was his name explained the hole course to me. I was becoming a regular until I ran into some guys in the course. There are some animal targets and I had forgotten that those you only get 3 shots while the others are 4. I unintentionally shot a fourth arrow and two guys came charging at me from across the field yelling about how I am not following the rules and how I will get kicked out and even banned. Guys didnt even take the the time to introduce themselves they just began to chew me out about how its only suppose to be 3 arrows not 4 and how I am not allowed to standalone and just enjoy my day and how i am suppose to keep moving. Keep in mind there was noone behind me or infront of me.Not sure who they were but very highly unprofessional if they work there. I own a business and I wouldnt appreciate if my employees chewing someone out instead of educating the individual. What a shame because I was becoming a regular. However I avoid places were you can run into hostel individuals. Talk to your volunteers or helpers or employees about educating people instead of harassing them special of they are new customers. read more

My husband wanted to get back into archery and bought me a bow last year. We went to different public archery ranges and joined another local archery club. One Sunday on our way back from church we stopped by Oranco because we knew it was open to the public on Sundays. We spoke with Mark and Al and they explained the process to become a member. They were very informative and nice. We started the process for membership and as perspective members we were invited to the Summer League Shoot. We had a lot of fun and all the club members we met were very nice and patient with me. It is a beautiful range and very well maintained. We are very happy being members of this amazing club that just celebrated their 70 year anniversary! read more

About 3 years ago, I had my kids attend a youth lesson. Afterwards, I was making chit chat with the instructor, Vernie. I had mentioned that I do archery in my backyard for the past 3 years. When I mentioned this, she immediately interrupted me and proceeded to diminish me by telling me that backyard archery is unsafe and unprofessional. Oddly enough, her mannerisms changed an I can feel a palpable sense of arrogance towards me. She basically rolled her eyes when I mentioned backyard archery. Touting that backyard archery is done by amateurs and no one would follow safety rules. As if safety protocols can only come from paid professionals like herself. She assumed that because I've not had professional instruction, that I'd automatically be unsafe. I just wanted to end the conversation, so I refrained from telling her that I've been a range instructor at a indoor pistol range. I understand safety and I carry those same principles into my backyard hobby. My intent on my Oranco visit was to hone our skills and possibly find a community with like minded individuals. All she did was trivialize the hobby I share with my children and insult me with her assumptions. If they're looking for new members for their club, it's not a good approach. I suggest building a few targets from scratch, by buying a bow from Amazon, watch lessons on YouTube and start your new hobby in your backyard. Oranco was a waste of our time. read more

I was invited by Chris who is my archery instructor to check out Oranco Bowen's archery facility which he happens to work at as well. I stopped by on Sunday, which is open to the public. The archery facility is outside so you get the benefits of fresh air and sun light. They have canopies that provide shade for those hot days. The archery targets look well maintained and the area is very tidy. The people who go there are very friendly, and they are willing to help you if you ask. It is a very positive, friendly, and fun place. Check them out! Unfortunately, Sunday is only day it is open to the public, you would have to be a member if you want attend the rest of week. I was told it is $200 for the entire year to join which isn't a bad deal. It's $20 if you pay for Sunday's only. read more

Awesome outdoor archery facility. We came here to shoot 3D, sadly they don't have it out accept for tournaments. We only shot as guests but the staff and members both in the shot and at the practice range were beyond awesome. I'm sure as you know not all archers are the most open to new people. Especially at clubs. Not here, super cool. We looked into joining their club with a membership but sadly due to the distance and limited time we have to come here it wasn't for us. But if you're looking for a club to support these guys are a awesome club to support. That said we will be here for a couple tournaments. Open to public as well. Both trails were awesome with tons of verity of incline, decline, 15 - 80 yard targets. Not bad with distance markers but if you want to free gauge the ranges it's a REAL challenge. My gf used recurve, I used a compound. We both had a great time! Also note they are only open to guests Sunday. So don't try to come Saturday! 5 star for sure! Will be back! read more

Terrible communication and unfriendly staff. Came here to check out the facility in hopes of joining as a member. When I wanted to leave, the gates were locked and I had a longer than needed conversation with members to unlock the gate so I can leave on my own. I would consider this a safety hazard if the need came for people to leave in a hurry but the gates were locked. read more

We are not new to the sport nor old to the sport of Archery. We are people just like you and I who like to enjoy tournaments with friends and family wherever we travel to shoot. Unfortunately, on Sunday the 13th was an experience that my son and I hope that you and your love one don't experience while shooting a tournament at this location with J. Dotterer. Every year my son and I enjoy ourselves coming to this club, because of the helpful staff, friends and family we shoot with. I have always heard and ignored the horror stories from other parents and shooters about J. Dotterer until now. I cannot believe that the following occurred at this range this day near the concession stand in front of other archers who felt that he was out of line. Below is a brief Synopsis of what occurred at the end. 1.) J. Dotterer pulling my son away from the group to interrogate him in regards to his age. 2.) We had mentioned that there are no youth stakes positioned, so that they do not have the opportunity to compete in their own class. 3.) We know that Mr. Dotterer has a huge history of undermining and treating our future with disrespect. 4.) Does not have the audacity to talk to the parent first in regards to his issue. 5.) Demanding that my son Check his fps speed on his 25lb compound, when he had already disqualified him from the course. 6.) Stated that there are no refunds on the course if you are dissatisfied with the tournament. 7.) Slapping and tampering with other shooters equipment such as backpacks and water containers, etc. to insinuate that they are either drinking on the range or caring some substance. 8.) Belittling parents and family in front of future siblings in regards to a simple clerical mistake. 9.) We decided it was best to leave, so that the scene he generated did not escalate. People or staff who know this person, please make a change and remove this person from his rank or position from the club to build a better shooting atmosphere for archers with or without children so that they can enjoy the art of archery. Enclosing, we wish that anyone who has experienced or witness this to not be afraid and write so that this monstrosity stop. Now, this may be the last that my son will shoot there because of how Mr. Dotterer was expressing his anger while pointing his finger at my sons face. But as he mentioned on the drive back home that it will not stop him from enjoying the sport at other locations where he is treated with great respect. read more

We are not novice archers. Staff was surly and unhelpful when we checked in at the office. We were then asked to change locations twice so not to interfere with members' enjoyment, although we were the only archers present. Very bad experience, not returning. read more

If you want to be disrespected and treated rudely come to this place. They don't answer their phones and yell at you when you show up to find out info on the club. So disappointed in this as we were hoping to join the club. What a waste of space and fun for those in the area. read more

This is one of the better ranges I have come across. It's right off the freeway, lovely outdoor setting with shaded areas, but dirt-road parking lot. The best part of all is that it is reasonably large with a variety of targets at different ranges (you go from left to right and the targets get farther). They are only open to the public on Sundays though, but everyone there is quite friendly and there is a nice diverse crowd. It's actually not too crowded, but the range is geared more towards intermediate and experienced archers. It's not a range for someone to go for their first time, espessially if you don't know the etiquite. Only two down sides were the gun range, which was kind of noisy, and the freeway behind the range that you could see and it's a distraction to see all the cars going behind the targets. read more

A very good venue to shoot at with multiple areas for distance shooting, roving, and FITA. Price is fair for yearly memberships and there are incentives for volunteering for small event setups. It also has a very accessible location and is located right off of the freeway. The staff are also very nice to communicate with and getting a membership was also very easy. Hopefully more FITA targets are added though! read more

My daughter and I were searching for an archery class as beginners. We attended Vernie's class on Saturday morning at 10:00. She was knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Needless to say we had a great class. And what is even more admirable is that she teaches these classes on a voluntary basis. I highly recommend this range! read more

Attitude!! (Public Sunday's) These people aren't interested in running a viable business or making money. They're interested in being arrogant, annoying and micromanage you. They don't rent equipment and they don't take debit or credit. Cash only and be prepared to be treated like a child. As far as the actual experience, The targets are plentiful and only marginally maintained. The grounds are shady with many trees and weeds. It has the potential to be a place that could introduce people to archery but they simply aren't interested in learning how to run a business like that. They're more into scaring any potential new comers off. Being new comers we had questions and they love to give vague condescending answers. They followed us out and kept correcting us despite my previous questions which would have solved having to come out and treat us like children ..SMH....Pure stupidity. read more

Its a shame what this place has done to archery. They have a group of daily members that go around harassing everyone with questions from "who do you know here?" To "are you a member?" And "how long you going to be here?" The actual guy who owns the place is great but sadly has no authority over his members. If you absolutey need a place to shoot it will do by all means. The only hiccup is some members will leave their bows infront of targets for long periods of time and not let someone else use the space for 30min to an hour. With all that said archery is an amazing sport and i wish this place was more willing to put the effort into its atmosphere and make the place great for everyone to enjoy instead of the people who practically live there read more

I've been a member of Oranco for about 9 months. I shoot multiple times a week and have participated in several archery tournaments. This place is a beautiful and relaxing place to shoot, an absolute gem! One of the highlights for me so far was the Moonlight 3-D shoot on November 11. This evening shoot was an awesome family event with an energized, festive mood. The shoot included a quick 24 target round with an optional (heart pounding) steel target and awards were handed out for first place finishers in each category. Following the shoot there was huge turn out for the Last Man Standing competition. Registration was quick and easy and the Boy Scouts hosted the cook shack with out of this world street tacos and bacon wrapped hot dogs. Variety of targets, distances and different terrain. I have met many fellow archers and staff with tons of great information to help improve shooting skills and equipment. I am reading here, people saying that staff is rude. Well the only times I hear staff get up in someone's grill is when the shooter is doing something dangerous that can potentially hurt someone. If you're getting upset because someone raised their voice at you because you did something wrong, rather then negatively yelp them because your feelings are hurt, LEARN where you went wrong that way we call can have fun and be safe. read more

Went to this place for the first time last Saturday had a great time the range was perfect and everyone was super nice and respectful. I see some negative reviews and people have to realize this is an archery club not an open range. Most people working are members volunteering their own time. The guy who checked me in was really nice and I had a great time shooting. I'm really considering joining so I can shoot here other than sunday! Wow ! This outdoor archery range is on about 45 acres with marked target distance ranging 10 yards to 80 yard..It's across the street from the Prado Shotgun range. It has a practice area were people can sight-in and practice all they want. Then it has four roving ranges with 14 target stations each. All Archers can walk the course but the rule on the roving range is that each archer can only shoot 4 arrows per target, retrieve their arrows, then move on to the next station. Break that rule and the range master will come over to tell you to move on the next station or move to the practice area. He explained it's like a golf course, you can't just play the same favorite hole. It sucks they are only open to the public on sundays for $10 for adult, or $20 max for family with kids under age 18. What I didn't like is they don't have regular restrooms. Porta potties only. I talked to a family that had camped out which is perk of being a member. They get a a key to the gate that is kept locked except when open to the public on Sunday and I was told they host Tournament where they shoot life-like 3D Big Game targets. Memberships are available for like $160 a year and by being a volunter the membership fee for the next year can be reduced to zero depending on how much help. Staff is all volunteer. Warning, they don't rent equipment, it's byo bow and arrows. And no crossbows are allowed. I bought my bow at Bass Pro Shops Rancho Cucamonga and they told me of this place. read more

Can't wait to go back. I went on Sunday, the day it is open to the public. Felt safe for a girl by herself. The guy checking people in was decent, patient as I had a lot of questions. Most of the people were friendly and helpful as I obviously was new to the place.
