My son wanted to play airsoft for his birthday. I was nervous as I have read that sometimes is can be intimidating for newbies. Then I found Battle Lab. They were highly reviewed so I looked them up. We booked a private party and booked gel blasters (they don't hurt) the refs Sebastian and Rob were super cool and patient. Alex who works the bar was really on top of everything too coordinating food, drinks, and cake. I found out about this place on Groupon. They have a deal for 3 players for their virtual reality lounge for an hour, for about $60, when the normal price would be $120. Being such a good deal, I made sure to snag 2 hours' worth. Not only do u get the game play, but you also get an entree and a drink per person, per hour. More on that later. When you enter from the parking lot, you walk right into the store. If you keep going straight, it takes you to the BB gun arena. And if you make a left halfway thru and down the ramp, it takes you to the Arsanal Bar where the 2 VR lounges are. Yes there's 2 lounges but it would've been better if there was separation or a wall for the rooms. Fortunately for us there wasen't another group. So we had both sides all to ourselves. Our waitress who was also working the bar was super cool. I didn't get her name. But she was super helpful and attentive to us. Helped us with how the groupon worked. Had free reign to make my soju inspired mixed drink, and it was amazing!! Food came out quickly. We had their chicken wings, their sliders, nachos, and mozerella sticks. Everything tasted amazingly. Quality and taste are so much more than what you would normally find in a bar. There are lots of different games to be played in the actual lounge. You can compete against your friend or play 1 player. Lots of seating area. Nice high top in the bqck to stand and eat. Great atmosphere. A little warm in the room. But it was very fun. The 2 hrs flew by like it was only 30 minutes. Going back to the groupon deal. 6 a great deal!! Because it turned out to only be $120 for 3 people for 2 hours. The free food option includes anything on their menu. From fries and mozzarella sticks to sliders and the more "expensive" things on the menu. And in regards to the free drink, it includes sodas, beers, and even mixed drinks!! So for $120, we got 6 entrees, 6 drinks, and 2 hours of play. 100% worth using the groupon!! Had a great time. Amazing place me and my friends come here 1-2 times a week and every employee is cool, the front desk is always welcoming and cool, and the refs. the refs are really good they explain the rules well and arent biased, thay doesnt mean you cant talk to them , my battery died mid game and i went to the ref box he let me use his and ome of them let me use his ssg1 for the night, i dont know what else you could ask for. theres a evike store next door too for when you need stuff. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Got a group together to go play Airsoft and this place is closer than Tac City so we decided to go here. Also we saw it had a Resturant and Bar so we brought along my wife. When we get there they don't tell you online that the Resturant and bar is not open during the week, only on weekends and there is no where for spectators to watch. So my wife just had to sit in the car and wait. Cons- 1. The field is so dark and is so close quarters that it's like a maze. If you have never played there you will get lost. We played 6 games and still got lost and found dead ends. Some hallways dead end and leave you stuck in a corner. They put 5 players that have never played before against a team that seems to play there every week. That did not turn out well since we were lost until they shot us way more times then you should be (these players were there to hurt people). We even told the ref that something needed to be said to these players but 1 of the players was a ref that was off the clock. 2. They make you pay for the Airsoft but also you have to pay a 1 time fee ($15) for a pack that tells you fps of your gun (which those same local players didn't have on their guns) 3. They lock you behind a metal door and even after the game you have to wait for the ref to come unlock the door to let you out. Seems like a fire / saftey hazard 4. Tables in staging area are super small. Pros- None at all. Will take my business to Tac City. Much better set up. This place will be out of business in no time. Even faster when Evike (airsoft store next door) realize that this place will give them a bad name even though it's a separate company. read more

But recently there's been a noticeable uptick in cheating, players not following game rules, and friendly fire just cause they don't bother using IFF. Really wish more was done about that. read more

Booked a group package for my son's 12th birthday! It was our first time for our boys and they were super excited. This place is awesome! It's clean and everyone working is very nice. They took care of us, and took the time to show the boys what to do. The front counter guy was very knowledgeable and because I ask a lot of questions, he answered every one and was very patient in explaining. The boys Referee was really cool too. Since he was inside with the boys while they played, I also asked him questions, and he also made me feel comfortable. Felt comfortable and safe the entire time we were there. Good airsoft field. The refs were good and the players were very friendly. One issue was the heat, but that's not the fault of the field. It did interfere with me and my group's experience, however. We ended up leaving early because of it. So come prepared if you plan to come during the warmer months. Visibility was also very low on the field, which impacted our play experience as well. So once again, compare prepared with flashlights or other visibility options. They do have a small bar/restaurant connected to the field which is very convenient and a nice place to break from your games. There's also the EVIKE Outpost connected to it as well, which was very helpful in resupplying our group. All in all a good field and a fun experience. read more

Drove half an hour out on a Friday to airsoft just to be told that the field doesn't open until 5PM. Their yelp page says they open at noon on Fridays. Battle Lab apparently expect people to check multiple sites for due diligence since only google displays the correct hours. What an absolute waste of time. Shows how little they care for patrons' time since they can't even bother to make their socials consistent. As for the field, the experience is nothing special/innovative. Per my last visit, field is dressed up to appear as if it deserves the higher entrance fee, but at its core it's the same as every other field. Some of the game modes they rotate in are cringe/unfun and you're forced to waste time playing them. You can honestly get a better experience with more meaningful playtime for less money at somewhere like N1. Unfortunately, yelp said that battle lab was the only place open early so I made the mistake of deciding to come. Now that I know that their hours are similar to everywhere else, I will not be returning in favor of better fields. read more

This is my favorite SoCal CQB airsoft place. The community is great and cheaters are shunned appropriately. The primary refs Mario, Frank and Nick are always great and do an excellent job of creating fun scenarios and taking recommendations on game types. A real effort is put into keeping players fair and punishing players which are either cheating or being overly aggressive. The refs here really take this place to the next level. For anyone new to airsoft, try going on a weeknight it's less crowded and the matches tend to be more forgiving. Edit, I read a few other reviews on the refs and felt this needed to be clarified about this establishment. Airsoft is a relatively dangerous sport, players can abuse their guns and cause serious injury to another person (intentionally or unintentionally). The refs do an amazing job at enforcing safety practices. It can come across as harsh, but it's extremely essential. The last thing you want is a fist fight, mag dump, or a miss fire accidentally hitting someone in the eye. I haven't witnessed anything close to these scenarios at Battle Labs and it's a testament to the refs. read more

After careful consideration, I decide to post my experience , after only visiting three times . Some of the staff are friendly I give Nick the ref and Mario 5 stars for their service including Jennifer. Frank can be nice but can definitely ruin your day by being an ahole especially if it's your first time and your inexperienced in this arena since they have so many rules regarding engagement distances I believe he could handle himself a bit more professional and empathetic rather than being oppressive towards new players . Lots of favoritism as well. The reason for the 2stars is for the following reasons I called on June first to check out their specials for the month and I was told by Jennifer that it'd be better to come in to take a picture so I came in the next day and did so . On June second I came in took a picture and was excited for the BOGO offer so I sent it to my co worker and he sent it to his friends and we made a plan to meet up the following Tuesday to take advantage of the deal. The day of! We come in and they changed the schedule ! And I was upset because we all came thinking there was a deal . Yet Management messed up because they had no tickets to give us and wouldn't give us a voucher or any type of credit for making a mistake which wasn't our fault but their own . Yet they wouldn't honor their deal yet the young lady at the front counter insulted me by asking me if I even came in during the month and I showed her the picture that I took on June 2nd she called someone and they didn't care they just said sorry we changed it up because we don't have any tickets to honor it . So as a patron how is that my fault? They should have at least made an effort to make it right . Which made our group upset that our friends ended up driving home keep in mind we live an hour away. They need to have a post on the calendar and online (schedule may change at any time for any reason etc) As the night went on it only got worse there was only one ref who sticks inside of a little room and no one in the arena . Which leads to utter chaos! When you have players breaking the 1 second burst rule and going full auto on you and the refs do nothing about it. Neither is there a ref in the game to make sure it all goes smoothly. There was an incident that night as well. when it was time to leave we where literally being kicked out and pushed out the door the ref wouldnt stop rushing us to leave and go home and it wasn't even ten yet. That by far made my night worse because I was being rushed to get out as if I wasn't welcome which definitely left me a bit salty. Won't be coming back here neither are any of my friends after that night. Unless I'm offered a voucher to come back, To make up for their mistake As of now I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially if your new to airsoft . So much potential here and hate to see it go down . I also lost a gernade Inside one of the towers and it fell in between the crevices. I never got it back even after leaving my info. Let me preface this review by stating this was my first time playing airsoft in 13 years. This was my first indoor CQB experience. This is the first time I played at Battle Lab. Things I liked in my visit: - Great community. Players all seemed nice, wide variety of ages, and even a few moms and dads getting into the mix with their kids. I thought that was fun to see. - Organized well and fairly clean facility. Parking lot lights could be a little brighter. - VERY nice and accommodating staff - Lots of games! They run 2 rounds, reload/break for 5-8 minutes, then run 2 rounds, etc. - Nice to have Evike Outpost right next door for supplies and gear. - Awesome work out. Bring a towel (sweat!!!) and lots of water. Even on a chilly day outside, you will get hot while you play. It was cool. Not the experience I was expecting or hoping for, but it was entertaining. Definitely a great workout! Holy hell I was dripping in sweat. Games were going off quickly so lots of time to actually play. Staff at Battle Lab was great...very nice, easy check in, refs seemed cool yet had a handle on stuff. Special shout out to Brittany at the front desk for the nice welcome and smooth registration process. Mario, the ref on duty at the time, was also great. Super welcoming. Happy to explain things to me as a newbie. Overall, those two were great. And great employees really help make a business stand out. They had a few different game modes. Some where cool (infected!) some really sucked (VIP). I do wish there was a playlist or order posted. I also would have loved to have more games of just plain old team death match. Couple things I, personally, did not like. It's really dark in there. Almost dangerously dark. Maybe it's my old ass eyes. I would have loved to play a few games with at least dim lighting. But, I also didn't know the map at all. Which brings me to my next point. The map is a damn maze. I mean, I ran in circles numerous times in the same game. I guess this is more on me and my inexperience but the first 3 or 4 games really sucked cause I had no idea at all where to go or what paths lead to where. I almost left after those first few games because I wasn't even shooting my gun. I didn't even see anyone to shoot. Just confusing and frustrating. Refs and others referred to areas of the map by name (China Town), but there was no labeling/signage anywhere and there was no diagram of the map. If you don't know the terms, you just have to kinda follow and hope you are going the right way. It's super loud. Music is so loud that you can't hear people call hits. That leads to over shooting. The music is cool and it's a fun vibe. But, honestly they should turn it down a little. Would also like to be able to get some audio of what's happening on the field ..hard to communicate with your team (or even the enemy, for that matter) and multiple times people were shot point blank rounding corners. If people could hear others coming (to an extent) it would probably lead to less issues with MED. I saw a few issues with that and even I was shot point blank in the gut with a rifle, while dead and signaling! A thing I did like was that the ref was on the PA during the game, helping it move it along. He would caution the arena if a group of 'dead' were walking to the 'dead box'. He would also come on the speaker if he saw someone hit and not signal. Another suggestion though - turn down the volume of the PA. It's so loud that you almost can't understand what he is saying. Lots of guys playing at one time. The field isn't huge and at one point we played roughly 15 v 15. At some points you couldn't even really maneuver or do anything because every spot had a gun pointing at it. Dead people getting shot, lots of friendly fire. Frankly, it's just a cluster. I understand why they don't limit the size of the games, though. Only one field...and who wants to sit out? No one, of course. And, of course, you still have the age old issue in airsoft of the people who just don't call hits. I had three guys in a corner on a flank and killed them easily, this guy walks into the same room with his back to me. I shoot him 2 or 3 times (semi auto, even though both guns I used could go full auto) and he turns around, to which I shoot again, and then proceeds to shoot me 3 times. I call my hit. He continues playing. Allllllrighty. Between the amount of gear this guy had on and the loud music, he could feel or hear the hits. Still, not sure how he doesn't know but I don't blame him. All in all, it was entertaining. I do think that with just some more experience, some of my negatives would be less of an issue. I will go again a few more times to really get a good feel for it. The community and other players were really cool for the most part. Very easy to talk to others and a cool range of ages. read more

Just had our sons birthday here today. They came out super sweaty each session, but had a blast. They all said they would do it again. Just for reference most of the kids were 14, they played with mixed ages up to adult with no issue. Everyone here is really nice, the owners (John and Rachel) are really nice and accommodating. We had put a deposit for a party pre-covid and they still honored it. Food and bar aren't open yet, but there are picnic tables if you bring or/Uber food. read more

This airsoft place was fun. However, I do not recommend going here.if you haven't gone airsoft before or have gone a couple of times or are a beginner. Do not go here if you are just beginning unless you are with a private party and are all beginners. Otherwise be prepared to be mixed in with players who are regulars or are far more advanced and have better equipment. And it seemed that the refrees did not really regulate when players can have their airsoft rifles on fully automatic or semi. This airsoft place is for the far more advanced close quarter combat players. Beginners be aware! Just a recommendation for this place set aside time for different level players. Hospitable and friendly and made sure Airsoft is a fun hobby . asure you these are ADULTS .you can play aggressive and fair and everything was cool .The experience was soo totally worth it that I recommended this place to alot of airsofters and friends .But Todays visit wasnt worth it sadly,came in and was basically kicking back and pacing myself cause of the 102deg heat yet still got into some trouble . Problem w this place now is the new younger teenage reffs/workers and the younger locals who are HIS friends and cant take the fact of getting shot and will tell on you and make stories behind your back just to get you sit out. There can be so many issues since its so dark or kids cheating and turning their arm band lights the other color that you dont know which player is dead or still in the game , or running full auto even tho they arent in the breacher class. I got so turned off I didnt even wanna play no more ,and thats $38 just to play 2games smh. the Reff didnt even want to talk to the other players and see And hear our side. What sucks also the kid who making issues this whole day was the same kid that was here giving people the same problems 3months before this visit today. So this issue was never taken care of. I tead reviews before I went and wanted to experience the indoor Airsoft gameplay for myself. Most reviews are pretty accurate when it pertains to the integrity of the game here. People don't call their hits. Teams aren't evenly separated when there's new players and more experienced players. It's hot as hell in their. One reason we wanted to try this place was because the heat outdoors but honestly it's just as hot without very pod circulation. The bar was a plus with very limited food options. It was a nice retreat where it was a lot cooler. I'm sure they'll add to the menu at some point. The bartender was very nice and staff was great. Kinda pricey but I guess understandable for the whole LED arm band setup and colored bands for the FPS indicator on your gun. Honestly the only reason I'd go back is because of the Evike store.
