Checkin is quick and easy by scanning the QR code on your phone and filling out the digital waiver. Present your ID and show your ammo (non-magnetic ammo only). They allow double taps, but no rapid fire. If you're new please listen to their safety rules and follow them for the safety of all. Range staff does a good job of actively (yet discreetly) monitoring to ensure safety. They have a large selection of targets available for purchase, and allow you to bring your own too.

Ask the Community - Magnum Range

I saw on your website you guys give first-responder discounts; does that apply to Veterans as well?

Yes, absolutely! Active Military, Veterans, and Law Enforcement, all get discounts!

Is it walk in only or can you reserve a time?

It is walk in only. If you sign up for a membership, you can reserve a time.

Can you use ear plugs? Or do you have to have ear muffs?

    You can use ear plugs.

Do you have to be a Member to shoot 22lr AR style rifles and are bolt action 22lr rifles allowed?

Best bet is to give Magnum range a call and ask them "Directly" for further details and information. I'm sure they allow 22lr caliber ammunition to be fired in the range tho.

FMJ 9MM with brass case suitable for the range?

    Yes, you're good to go.

Is there an area to shoot air guns?

No. This is a range for REAL guns

Do you have a m&p shield and sig p365 to try? Trying to decide between the 2 for a ccw.

Whichever is more "Compact" and favors from your personal experience/use (Suitable)

First timer here, can we bring our own ammo or do we have to buy from there?

    You can bring your own

Hello do they happen to accept FFL?

Hello Matt, yes, we do offer FFL transfers. Please contact the range via phone or email at ranchomagnumrange@gmail.com

Do I need to make a reservation and if I'm a first timer what do I need to know?

No, reservations are not needed, it is first come, first serve. However, if you visit on a weekend, a reservation is advisable (more visitors on weekends).…

Can you take the FSC test there?

Yes. FSC test is available on Tues Wed Thurs during business hours. Please call ahead to make a reservation.

I waited too long to get my documents in order and now I have a "federal limits apply" ID. I was able to buy a Glock before that happened however. Question: Can I use that ID…

Yes, you can use your ID with federal limits apply to rent a lane and purchase ammo to only shoot at the range. If you are planning on purchasing a firearm or ammunition to take home, you must bring your ID with 'federal limits apply' along with…

    Do they still sell ammo?

Yes we still sell ammo. However we are low on many calibers. Please visit us to find out the detail of our inventory. Thank you.

I went to this place couple days ago. The staff was nice and he asked me first time come to here? I said yes, then he ask me to get a certificate from a Chinese couch first. I Is it necessary to get the certificate first?

What is certificate for Chinese couch?

Is this range still open during Covid?

I have called them during open hours multiple times to find out if they are open and if masks are required during shooting and nobody picks up. I used their 'contact us' form and asked the same questions. No response there either. The website isn't…

Is there a GLOCK armorer on site?

Yes we do have a Glock armorer on site. Any service request can be done in person at the range. Thank you.

My friend has does not a driver license but he does have his foreign passport. Can he shoot at this range?

I'm not sure- I have only seen people use a valid license or identification card. What did he use to come here? Does he have a visa or a permanent resident card? I would call and ask if any of those would suffice?

    Open on Labor day?

    Yes

Can I shoot rifles or shotguns?

    Call them

What do I need to take with me for a first time shooter? Do I need any type of training prior to going?

Take your I.D. They have everything you need to rent. No training required. Just keep your finger off the trigger until your ready to fire, and keep your firearm pointed downrange. They will help you. You'll have a blast!

Outstanding range day with great fellowship!…read more Brought a group of close friends and our wives out to Route 66 Shooting Park, and it was a top-tier experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire day. The Highlights: - Great Discounts: They offer a $10 discount for medical professionals. With a lot of Filipinos in the medical field who love exercising their Second Amendment rights, this was a massive hit with our group. - The Steel Gallery is a Must: We started in a private lane but lost some time setting up paper targets. Pro-tip: The ground is hard, so hammering stakes takes some effort, and definitely don't use PVC pipes if you are shooting shotguns! If coming on a weekend, go early morning. Moving over to the steel targets completely saved the day. There is nothing more satisfying than hearing that crisp **"PING!"** every time you land a hit. Family & Fellowship: While the guys had a great time, the ladies actually had an absolute blast. They took over the line shooting rifles, shotguns, and various pistols we brought along. A huge shoutout to the excellent Range Master at the steel target range who kept things safe and fun. It was a phenomenal day of solid bonding and making memories. We already can't wait to come back!

CASH ONLY. Our group…read moredidn't realize it was cash only. We checked the website and didn't see it was cash only. It is $35 per person. They also charge for targets and the wood. They do not have an atm available. You have to drive down the road awhile, to find an atm. This place also closes early! It closes at 3:30pm. So, you have to get there early. Otherwise it isn't worth your time. There's no service or Internet. If you are glued to your phone, this isn't the place for you. No cell service. No social media. No phone calls. It's an outdoor shooting range, in the desert of San Bernardino. It's gets very hot. Too hot for my blood. I need trees, shade and air conditioning. I like the appeal of the outdoor environment, but the heat really makes it not enjoyable. I guess it is not too bad if you don't mind driving to the middle of nowhere to shoot.

As a novice shooter I don't expect much from a range vs just go and shooting at targets, but after going to a few I now know amenities is nice to have and Lytle has it. They have wooden beams that you can put a 2x1 (i believe) target stand in. Some are raggity so you have to put a shim or just stick a rock to stablize it. They also set up steels for you to shoot. You can also bring your own steels. Certain areas have a patio cover and i see them building more covers as well. Lytle has quite a lot of different range lengths. I believe 100y, 200y, and 300y. An area with a bunch of steels that you can try out, but I believe thats an extra $10. RSO are chill and knowledgeable so if you have a question they are happy to help. You do have to pick up your own shells, they have a broom and occasionally RSO will help. They have portapotties that don't reek. You can bbq and make a whole day out of it. There is no time limit. Unfortunately, the price did go up. it is $35 a head now. Even with a price increase, this is still will be my go to spot.

If you're not in a rush, showing up after lunchtime can help you avoid the early wait, but keep in mind, on busy days you might miss out on getting a bay altogether. What really stands out is the staff. They're extremely helpful, friendly, and make the experience comfortable whether you're a beginner or more advanced. One thing to note, they don't offer rentals, so make sure to bring your own firearms. Overall, a solid spot with a great environment. Just plan your timing right and come prepared.

Been coming here for around 2 years and the last couple experiences broke the camel's back for me…read more I did like this place. Never had an issue with the cashiers, sad to hear other people's experiences with them. The area is nice and spacious which is why I liked going here, you get your own bay and usually nobody bothers you. For 2 hours you'll pay 32 buck with cash and 37 with card. The wait can be brutal so get there early in the morning. There was a group of 4 of us this one time. The 2 older Range Officers, a middle aged Asian American guy and an old geezer probably in his 60s, they kept annoying us and tried multiple times flirting with our chick friend in the group. The chick friend told me she's goin' to stick next to me, so the Range Officers would stop interacting with her. Never had the Range Officers give my group this much attention. Long story short that broke the camel's back for me. I was at the 50 yard bay shooting a pistol with one hand, at a steel target provided by the range. Shot one handed here before with no issues. A younger Range Officer yelled at me and said what I was doing. I calmly replied back with no demeanor or with a rude attitude. I guess he didn't like me replying back to him when I answered his questions, then the middle aged Asian American Range Officer quickly comes up to talk to me. I replied calmly to him too, I apologized to deescalate the situation and he still kept being a fat d*ckhead. Then the old geezer Range Officer in his 60s who talks like he has sh*t stuck up his ass, I think he's the master of them, comes up to the bay and talks to me. He also didn't like it when I calmly replied back, it made him even more mad. If ya have a tough skin you'll be fine. The Range Officers are rude, except for one. Don't talk back to the Range Officers, they don't like it haha. Maybe you'll have a better experience here than I have. Won't be coming back here sadly.

They have classroom spaces upstairs, which is where my instructor provided a lot of useful, practical information on my firearm: I assembled my AR on my own and learned quite a bit during that process, but he further showed me how to disassemble it completely (I purchased a complete upper so didn't know how the BCG fully operated) and best practices for using and cleaning it. Then we went down to lane 18 for hands-on training. Shot about 100 rounds -- my instructor helped me zero in both my iron sights and a red dot with magnifier I installed on my AR. Everyone there seemed to be expert firearms owners, which is a good thing vs. people who are unsafe and not following safe usage guidelines (I've heard other ranges in L.A. County allow newbies on the range without instruction -- not a good idea for obvious safety reasons). I also like that they have a lounge area where people who are not shooting can still look through thick glass/plexiglass and be safe doing it. Also, they provide a sink and soap so you can wash your hands afterwards (hint: you don't want gunpowder or other after-effects of shooting on your hands should law enforcement pull you over for another reason). You can rent a lane by the hour ($25/hour). No reservations so first come, first served. Will definitely be going back here for more practice. Recommended!
